I was disappointed with that. I think the flight should have some for these kinds of situation so that other passengers can protect themselves. Thanks."

Nadelen: "same remark : Before our trip we called Kayak service desk with the request to reserve our seats. The answer obtained was that we should do it online. When we went online there were almost no more seats available so we decided to go to the check in counter in the airport. Although we were more than 3 hours in advance in the airport there were almost no seats available. We were very disappointed about this service, we never experienced this with any other airline companies..."

Nadelen: "I arrived to the airport 2 hours prior to my departure to find out that my booking was cancelled. I never received a notification or nothing. I purchased a multi-trip and failed to used the ticket I purchased because I had to leave Qatar early since the person I was staying with was disorganized and flew out the country. I then purchased a different ticket with another airline because it was cheaper. Since I did that, they cancelled my whole trip. HOW? And I payed for a service I clearly didn't receive. As a result, stranded, I had to pay an additional $1,125 for a one way ticket home - more than my original round trip multi flight purchase."

Nadelen: "My Partner and I was dissatisfied with our connecting from Zurich to Cairo. We expected the same flight but we were in basically in coach with little more leg room. The chairs barely reclined to a comfortable position. There was no entertainment, just a three and a half hour flight at the flight plan on a small tv hanging over. their was no differentiation between the economy behind us. just the food that was brought to us, other felt the same as well who were traveling in business with us."

Nadelen: "My luggage being lost both from Toronto to Zurich and from Zurich to Toronto. Air Canada took nearly 4 days to get my baggage to me in Toronto, as a result of which I was unable to attend a funeral in Chicago. I was lied to over and over by air Canada. The entire experience was horrible."

Voordelen: "I liked everything.....the food, boarding, comfortable, the crew. It was excellent! Will fly them again."
Nadelen: "The movies were the same so coming back there was nothing to watch."

Nadelen: "My seat had been given to someone else also, and they boarded before me, so I had no seat for some time. I was told to stand in the back, which I did for a long time. Eventually I sat down on the edge of a place and a stewardess snapped at me. I've had back surgery recently, so all of this was very difficult. Finally given a seat. No internet--big drawback on overseas flights. On our trip there, one bathroom was a mess, plus out of toilet paper. Told the stewardess, and they closed it for a while--took some time for it to be attended to. The entertainment choices are VERY slim--don't know why a more extensive list of choices could not be made available."

Nadelen: "Sound for on-screen entertainment not working. It was static-y all the time and completely cut out the rest of the time. I made various attempts to solve the problem, switching headphones, switching to my own headphones (which can't really be done because they have a two-prong jack and personal headphones are always one). I tried watching different movies, programs, music...it wasn't the material I was watching that was the problem. I asked the flight attendant to reset my console. That didn't work either. I just ended up reading my book the entire 9 hour trip."

Voordelen: "I didn’t take the flight but there was no way to get my refund! No phone answer and no ticket counter!!!!"

Nadelen: "The staff was not great. An issue with a first class customers made them move around economy customers like they ' really not even people but utilities, all that for that one person. If they would have informed and talked with the other customers that would have been fine but being treated like a piece of furniture isn't nice. Plus, continuous strikes in Belgium see a joke, check-in luggages delayed for plenty of airlines. This country doesn't even know what strike mean anymore being so often..."

Nadelen: "There are not diverse food choices"

Nadelen: "Flight was delayed by over two HOURS. When we got to Istanbul, our connecting flight to NY could not wait 15 MINUTES and instead left. We ended up spending 18 hours in Istanbul for the next flight. 1. The personnel at the transfer desk were rude and unhelpful when we asked questions. They seemed like they could not be bothered with our problems. 2. Turkish airlines did not even bother to help with accommodations, instead giving my wife and I a small bed to sleep in vs a hotel room. The only way to get a hotel room was to leave the airport, and we could not get Visas because we were American citizens. Turkish airlines was a very bad experience. Overall this was a poor experience, and I will not fly Turkish Airlines again. I will make sure my friends and family know that this is a poor airline with poor customer service."

Voordelen: "Walking past the Turkish Airlines desk in Dulles and knowing I would NEVER have to interact with these monsters again."
Nadelen: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

Nadelen: "Management of time excellent. Plane went on time. Staff on checking in or in the plane were polite, pleasant, professional and available. Timing of delivery of luggage also was fast."

Nadelen: "As much as I love flying Turkish Airlines, they have this problem of boarding passengers on time as they now feel like "hot cake." They need to improve in this aspect."

Voordelen: "We were fed and offered drinks, given blankets, pillows and complimentary travel kits, issues with flight changes and other questions were answered quickly, ticketing was a breeze, the flight crew was extremely courteous, and flying back with my electronics was covered with professional care of my equipment and certainty that I wouldn't miss my flight."

Nadelen: "The service on the flight from Houston to Turkey was much better than it was from Turkey to Houston. For one thing, the flight attendant never made up our beds on the way back to Houston. For another, the sound did not work at my seat, so I was unable to use any of the entertainment. The flight attendant kept trying to give me different headphones...it wasn't the headphones that were the problem!! He never really addressed the issue or coordinated a possible seat change (even though there were empty seats in business class)."

Nadelen: "The Sabiha Gökçen airport in Istanbul is discrageful, and changing flights there is always a horrible experience. But this is not, of course, the fault of THY. The airport is simply too small for the current number of flights."

Nadelen: "There were enormous crowds at Sabiha Gökçen airport. The flight connections were late due to bad weather, and I nearly missed my connection to Brussels. There was no information and no help, and the gate was already closed. The people at the ground terminal knew no foreign languages. All they could say was 'I do not know. This is not my responsibility'. Completely disorganised."

Nadelen: "The flight from DXB was delayed, causing us to miss the connection to LIS in IST. 2 hours after standing at the transfer desk they put us on a flight to LIS via CDG. Luggage was kept in IST. Now we are in LIS with no luggage and no confirmation on its whereabouts. Lost and found staff at LIS (Portway) showed total confusion in claiming luggage was in CDG. Today two planes arrived in LIS from IST, none of them with our luggage. Screen shows my name with mention "Not loaded" regarding the luggage. This incompetence is unacceptable from "Europe's best airline". This title is misleading advertising and should not be allowed."

Nadelen: "Retard de l'avion ( 3-4 vols différents). Perte de mes bagages qui à entraîner un déplacement pour rien à l'étranger pour le travail vu que je n'avais pas le matériel de travail avec moi. Nous faire monter dans l'avion, rouler sur le tarmac, après 30 min de prise de retard sur le départ, nous annoncer qu'on retourner à l'aéroport et qu'il fallait changer d'avion pour problèmes techniques. Pour nous annuler complètement Le vol! Nous faire descendre de l'avion, devoir aller se trouver un autre vol, aller recuperer la valise, retourner l'enregistrer, et retourner à la sécurité tous ça avec une amabilité digne de la froideur allemande! Auncuns repas ou autre bois a été offert au moin pour s'excuser. Après avoir eu tous ces problèmes avec la même compagnie j'ai contacter à plusieurs reprises le service client qui m'a raccrocher au nez! On m'a dit qu'on me remboursait Le vol. Je n'ai jamais eu de nouvelles."

Nadelen: "No internet available (2020). For the my previous flight, a month ago, was the same problem."

Nadelen: "The only complaint I had was that it was very warm on the flight (and I usually get cold on flights), and in the seats we had there weren't fans above the seats. A few rows up they had fans, so apparently you have to pay extra for air... This wouldn't be a big deal on a short domestic flight, but for an international flight it was a long time to be uncomfortable!"

Nadelen: "The boarding area was total chaos. In order to get to the gate I had to literally fight with the 100s of people who were waiting in the same area. No priority was given to family with children or elite members. Even when we complaint at the personnel we were told that “it was busy”. Usually KLM flight from Venice depart from the first floor where gates are bigger and you get straight with the finger to the airplane. Today it hasn’t been the case .... too poor service for a KLM fight"

Nadelen: "Was not informed that checking in online is the only way to secure a seat. So, regardless of whether you book your tickets 3 months in advance or the day before, you're not actually guaranteed a seat unless you check in online. We weren't told this until we were at the airport and checked in there that we might not be able to get our pre-booked in advance flight because of over-booking from KLM. We then had to wait and see if there were seats available when boarding. Luckily, there were, but we were not sat together. Not the greatest start to our first holiday together as a couple. We were told that if there weren't seats available, they'd pay for us to get to another airport to fly out, which would have meant a huge delay on the only time off we'd get together this year and have to rearrange our pre-booked and pre-paid living arrangements for the week. All because there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the need to check in online before hand. You'd think if someone checked in at the airport, that would be more of a guarantee that they'd be flying with you that day, but apparently not. Definitely not impressed or happy with this part of the KLM experience. This is the only company that we've had this problem with, they should make it clearer that it is essential to check in online."
