Nadelen: "Checking in we had a nasty representative, but other than that, all was well"

Voordelen: "Nothing! It was the first day of our honeymoon, and it was ruined by Swiss."
Nadelen: "This (attempted) flight was like living a nightmare. The aircraft had a problem with the A/C, so we sat in the extremely hot aircraft on the tarmac for 2 hours while they tried to fix the problem. Then, when we were finally told that the aircraft could not fly, the Swiss staff said that we were "not allowed" to leave the aircraft. After stressed passengers confronted the crew demanding to be let off the aircraft, we went back into the terminal to wait for hours in line as just two Swiss staff filled out hotel vouchers by hand for over 200 passengers. Adding insult to injury, we were then told to wait for a hotel shuttle at the curb, despite the fact that the shuttle had stopped running hours earlier at midnight. I didn't fly to Switzerland until the next day, losing hundreds of dollars on a missed hotel stay in Zurich, and travel plans. And it was an awful start to my honeymoon. The way the Swiss staff treated us was unconscionable and insulting. They have not responded to my several written complaints, so maybe Kayak can help!!!"

Nadelen: "- No special treatment for Star Alliance Gold Member - Crew member forgotten my drink order completely - Entertainment system was not working after 7 Restart attempts - The whole entertainment system is very 90's - OLD and ready to retire - There were crumbs or foods left over from previous flights on my seat and tomato sauce on the tray table - Foods selections was not that great"

Nadelen: "Flight attendants blocked the aisle cleaning after meal service. The line of more than 10 people formed in the aisle trying to go to the lavatories, and the flight attendants would not move even after repeated requests by a parent who had a two year old needing to go. The lavatories were vacant at the time. Why can't they clear out and let people pass through. Never seen this type unaccommodating behavior."

Nadelen: "Entertainment was terrible- poor selection and consols were super old Old planes and crowded isles No chance to select seats! Weight limit on carry on No perks for gold star alliance Free wine is not good quality so why bother with providing"

Nadelen: "Wish they would board the plane from the back to the front. Maybe that would eliminate the back up in the aisle during boarding times."

Nadelen: "All airlines are doing this—we're seated closer and closer together, but the seats are the same. They recline just as much, and the screens pivot as little. And when you have screens that darken at an angle, when the person in front of you leans back, not only is their head in your lap, but you can't see your screen at all. I hate that it's on passengers to decide that it's rude to lean back, when it's the function of the chair. Besides, barely anyone considers it rude. So I was uncomfortable and cramped (and yes, I asked the kid in front of me if she would please move her chair up just a little bit as a favor, but she said she leaned back because the guy in front of her leaned back). Nice kid. I'm not a big guy. Finally home with a horrible neck cramp and a sore tailbone."

Nadelen: "Arm rest doesn't go up all the way. Very difficult to get out when seats are reclined in front of you"

To make matters worse once his seat was reclined the video entertainment screen in front of me was too distorted to watch. I suggest that you replace these screens with LCD screens so that there is clearer resolution and less reflection on them."

Nadelen: "Crew members are a bit bland and lack customer service, but I noticed that as a whole in Australia (slow service/not really interactive or communicative & very quick to make comments and leave) not sure if they just hate Americans based on the media or what. One crew member cut in line at the restroom when there was 3 of us waiting to go. Another told me my husband couldn’t receive his meal because he was napping and then he quickly walked away— Yet i received mine on the flight coming to Australia when my husband asked for me? Sanitation between flights should be more strict-my headphones were opened which lead me to believe my pillow wasn’t changed either, since one had a case and one didn’t."

Nadelen: "I had to run for almost 2 miles every time I had to change the flight. On the way to India they lost my one bag, and on the way back to US they lost my both begs."

Nadelen: "They switched my gate 5 times and lost my baggage."

Voordelen: "simple easy boarding. Jumbo 747 is always a nice experience."

Voordelen: "The crew was friendly and professional, the food was good and offered frequently due to the long flight time (10.5 hours). The plane was comfortable even though nearly full. Overall, it was a good experience and I would definitely fly with Virgin Atlantic again."

Voordelen: "I was selected for additional screening at the gate. I have no problem with this at all. From the start I told them I am traveling with my fiancee. They tried to hold me back in a separate area after the screening and I once again told them my fiancee was waiting for me. One staff memeber walked with me half way back to get her and then disappeared. By the time I found her and came back, the staff memeber was no where to be found. Now we had lost are spot in the line and had to go to the back of the line. We spoke to 3 different staff people about what was going on and everyone said, oh the guy over there will help you. But no one did. The staff had No idea how to run a security check or handle paople. There was No working wifi! There was no tvs in the seats, only the old style in the aisle. The staff told me the plan was going to retire at the end of the month. The food was more for animals then for humans! We got updates by txt 10 mins before the staff updated the gate on our flight out from SFO. I have traveled all over the world with a lot of airlines and Never had such a poor service, but what is it to expect. It was United after all!"

Voordelen: "I was very impressed by the generosity you show concerning food och drink. the staff was kind and glad."
Nadelen: "I never understood how to connect the earphones to the screen so I couldn't ser any movie. But - I could have asked the staff of course ..."

Voordelen: "The crew were very friendly, and helpful. I also liked that the exit row that I was given had more than enough leg room, the dinner was really good for airplane food and snacks were great also. The attendant that I had for my section also told me that all food and drinks were free so they gave me a few extra adult drinks here and there which is a plus for how long the flight was going to be. The movie selection is great also having some on there that are still in theaters is a huge plus."
Nadelen: "The boarding process seemed way out of order, they made so many mistakes and nobody knew what to do, then you have the pushy passengers that are sitting coach getting mad that you're boarding before them. Breakfast left me wanting something else, lets just say this if you are given the choice of something vs french toast, take the something."

Voordelen: "Did not take the flight in the end"
Nadelen: "My first leg flight was delayed and I booked through kayak on two different airlines and the first airline did not communicate with the second airline so 5 passengers ran to make the change and arrived 1 min after the jetbridge to get on the plane was pulled away. It was incredible frustrating and could have very easily been avoided with communication from the airlines"

Voordelen: "This is my new favorite airline. I loved the staff and all the amenities. I was so comfortable and the food choices were great. I felt like I was cared for and my comfort mattered."

Nadelen: "The floor at our feet had been spilled on during a previous flight and not cleaned. Bag was lost and not returned for 5 days. Crew during flight was flippant and disinterested in service...unless you were Economy+."

Voordelen: "Virgin Premium economy offers a great up-grade on economy. Seperate check in (faster), seperate boarding (earlier), better food, service and more room than economy."
Nadelen: "There appears to have been an increase in cost above that you expect percentage wise. There has been reduction in the quality of the food."

Nadelen: "Reduction in available seat space will probably make me look at other suppliers the flight over on air New Zealand was significantly more comfortable"

Voordelen: "first time I flew VirginAtlantic. Heard so many good things about it. It fact even our Uber driver was praising the airline on our way to the airport. But once onboard: - poor food (I mean 'survival kit' style) - entertainment station was not working - games feel like 20 years old - design (heavy red) now looks dated and suffocating - hostesses are more focused on their hairstyle than their customers"

Nadelen: "It wasn't clear that we would need to pay to check our luggage, especially since every international flight I have ever been on allows you a checked bag at no cost. When we got to the airport it cost us $130 each to check our bag which we were told it would have been around $50 if we had done it online ahead of time (if we knew). $130 per bag is excessive for checked luggage and we were extremely frustrated and disappointed. I like to fly Virgin when I can due to comfort but that experience left much to be desired."

And in my experience, there is a huge difference between the two, so I prefer to know exactly which airline will be servicing me. Just be more clear in listing on flight info. This was not a Virgin flight, it was a Delta one."

Nadelen: "Minimal to no food on the flight, plus size passenger next to me took up her seat and part of mine. No power outlets, no wifi, knees hit seat pocked in front me - basically it was like time travel, only I'm sure a stage coach was more comfortable."

Voordelen: "Food tasty, well made, excellent chicken curry rivaling restaurant cooking big time, portion size appropriate. And service with a smile the whole seven and a half hours. Beautiful magazines free provided before boarding. No lines at the gate with favored seats going first. We simply boarded as we arrived!"

Nadelen: "Staff needs be taught better customer service skills. Boarding the plane was carnidge! Flight as delayed slightly but nothing too significant. Although staff called passengers according to "special assistance and upper class" one queue was letting everyone through regards of where in the plane they were sat! When this was pointed out to what appeared to be the person in charge, she more or less shrugged her shoulders and turned her back. In fact she didn't even acknowledge him verbally. This resulted in people unable to be seated quickly as it would make sense to load the rear of the plane first surely?? On the actual flight one cabin crew taught my eye (as you can understand a long haul flight is very boring!!) and I noted that not one time did she say "please or thank you" Surely that's just basic curtesy!! In my opinion, Virgin Atlantic is a lot of hype. Not as good as they think they are."

Voordelen: "Upper class on an A346. Very nice, excellent service. Didn't eat dinner, but got some sleep instead. Recommended."

Nadelen: "luggage. what a nightmare. I waited 30min for my luggage (after a delayed flight) only to be told by a fellow PASSENGER that some of our luggage was directed to a FRONTIER CAROUSEL. I then had to wait by that carousel till I found it. so much for "bags in 20min guaranteed""

Nadelen: "Crew could have proactively provided more water. I was really thirsty mid-flight and had to stand up and ask for water myself."

Nadelen: "LAX security is awful. We never left the airport (arrived LAX from Sydney AU) yet were forced thru security again. Had to remove shoes, was scanned and "frisked" by TSA to get to Denver. To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."

Voordelen: "The crew was nice, helpful abd friendly. Very seemed glad to serve us."
Nadelen: "The seats were so close that we could not sleep. You couldnt put your head back or down on table even with pillows. Will not fly Delta again on long flights."

Voordelen: "Not much. Boarding by "zone" works ok, but is no quicker than most other boarding methods."
Nadelen: "Boeing 767-400ER seats had no leg room for 6'+ traveller like me. The entertainment system was so old that there were no 115v outlets or USB ports. On a 7-hour flight, that is a significant problem for travellers today with multiple electronic devices. Finally, we were not told in advance that we had to go through security twice and through US Customs BEFORE leaving Dublin. So, the 6-hour layover at JFK was a complete waste of our time as we did not have to go through Customs there."

Voordelen: "Everyone who has a kid knows how challenging certain things can be in a flight and for me the combination of a night flight interrupting my baby’sschedule + a full flight it equalized disaster. My daughter could not get comfortable for the love of life and I just felt horrible and frustrated and what sucked most was the 9 year old and her obese father siting in our row that kept giving us weird looks."
Nadelen: "There’s NO room in planes between seats. It’s 2018 and new planes must be done ASAP to accommodate people better. I’m 5’1” and 110 lbs but adding my 25lb daughter siting in my lap before she turns 2 is absurd to expect that it will be comfortable whatsoever for us or the people breathing next to us. Please DELTA, lead by example and make sure your planes are designed with more room in between and around the seats. In my opinion, every seat should be first class."

Voordelen: "The staff really helped me out getting on standby so that I didn't have to wait for a 9 hour layover. Overall great experience and great staff."

Voordelen: "Delay. First it was about 20 min, then 30, then 49 and 55. At the end more than 70 minutes delay. Too much, too frequent on delta!!!!"

Nadelen: "Poor communication, a 6 hour delay followed by a 7 hour layover (during which we had to sleep on an airport floor because Delta couldn't offer us any hotel vouchers). Gate agents disappeared after 7pm becuase they were due to be done with their shifts when our flight was originally supposed to leave at 6 pm. It felt like we were trapped in the movie The Terminal. Oh! And our bag was misrouted, because that was just how things went those 2 days. All in all a 6 hour trip turned into 18 hours. I could have driven home in that amount of time!"

Nadelen: "Arriving in SLC discovered out flight to Denver was CANCELLED! Had to reschedule to the next day. Not fun!"

Voordelen: "The entertainment unit allowed me to watch the Denver Broncos game live which helped lessen the delayed departure and uncomfortable seating."
Nadelen: "Uncomfortable seating....too crowded!! We had a delayed departure by 30-40 minutes because of a computer download issue. Too many folks carrying carry-ons delayed boarding. I wish folks were not encouraged to go that route but to check baggage. This time of year gets even tougher with folks carrying Christmas presents and over sized personal items. Ugh. Not fun to travel this time of year."

Nadelen: "The app went down just as we were getting ready to board and luckily i had a printed pass and it took some extra time to check in."

Die meneer geeft aan: stop uw koffer in automaat. Die accepteert niet. Had die meneer ook gelijk kunnen zeggen. Volgende loket. Die mevrouw geeft groen Delta label: uw bagage wordt in Atlanta direct doorgezonden naar Kingston. Ik loop dus door in Atlanta. Maar behulpvaardige meneer melde: uw bagage wordt niet doorgezonden. Nooit uit Amsterdam. Wie moet ik dan geloven? Ik toch maar wachten. Blijkt koffer toch van bagage band in Atlanta te komen. Als ik op Delta/KLM info had vertrouwd, was mijn koffer dus pleite geweest, want niet doorgezonden. Geplande tussenstop duur van 2 uur was volgens douane te weinig. Dat klopte. Haalde maar net vlucht Atlanta/Kingston."

Voordelen: "Some "perk" for Diamond status on Delta to get to a shorter security line, but customs and immigration was... customs and immigration."
Nadelen: "No available SkyTeam lounge unless you had a business class ticket. As a Diamond flier, I can always access the SkyTeam lounges. Audio for boarding was a little unclear so there was some confusion at boarding. For reasons unknown, my bag was moved from one overhead bin to another. Very frustrating since I board early to avoid this confusion and hassle."

Nadelen: "I don't like that I already completed this survey several days ago and have been receiving reminders to do so. I guess you don't have a good system in place for knowing who has and has not completed your surveys. That's too bad."

Voordelen: "All went as planned and expected. No thrill- like taking a Greyhound bus in the old days...gets you where you are going but without much pizzazz New seats and quite clean, but the new seats were very hard and uncomfortable after an hour."
Nadelen: "Somewhat claustrophobic and always wish the drop down tray table behind could be disconnected from my seat. When the passenger behind uses the tray as a set of bongo drums to keep beat with his headphones it is a pretty miserable trip."

Nadelen: "My flight from Detroit to Denver was suppose to land at 1:15 ish and I had an interview to make at 3:30 thinking that I would have plenty of time to grab my bags and and get a cab to greenwood which is where my interview was. The flight was delays almost 3 hours and I was not able to make my interview which was the whole reason I flew to Denver in the first place. I understand that things happen but now Im out of a possible job that I was interviewing for and I am also out the $250 that I spent on the flight. The flight was delayed because they didn't have a crew to fly the plane which blindside is always 20/20 however it seems like pretty poor planning."

Voordelen: "In terms of things I liked flying with UA998 from Brussels to EWR: The boarding staff at Brussels airport was helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Boarding procedure was smooth even with the extra security screening at the gate."
Nadelen: "It was quickly clear to me that the passengers where simply an inconvenience to some of the crew on UA998. As an example I fell asleep during take off and woke up in the middle of the meal service. The cart was only a couple of rows behind me in the half-ful Economy Plus section so I got up and tried to get the attention of the staff. The lady turned around and confirmed that "I had woken up" with a sigh, as is not only was it inconvenient to her that I was a sleep, now I had the nerves to actually ask for a meal. She presented me with the options of pasta and chicken and I politely asked what they where served with. She straight out said that "she really did not know that" and asked me to make a choice. I wont get into any other examples, the machine was half full at best and there was no stress, so frustrating to be treated like you are an inconvenience to the USA based staff who clearly just wanted to be left alone. The entertainment system barely worked, the touch monitor was very hard to operate - the pressure sensitive functionality was not working properly but I managed to get to my movie and avoid the Chinese subtitles in the third try. I fly United because it's part of Star Alliance, but otherwise I would try and avoid at all cost."

Voordelen: "Entertainment had great variety, flight progress software showed great detail of surroundings and progress. 4 bathrooms provided for our area allowed good availability. Hot towels, metal silverware nice, and not available on competing airlines. Overhead compartments were roomy."
Nadelen: "Legroom marginal and seat ahead reclines too far, takes away all usable space for reading, etc."

Voordelen: "Punctual departure, cabin crew were generally efficient and pleasant. The airshow (flight routing details) programme is one of the best I've experienced on any airline...."
Nadelen: "Boarding was a 'free-for-all' with no filtering of Economy passengers by zone or seat row. Less effective than Emirates in this regard. The hot snack offered before arrival at Denver was served in the final 50 minutes of the 10 plus hour flight. This meant that the service and tray collection, including the cabin preparation for landing was very rushed."

Nadelen: "the connection flights was the worse! The gate was changed in Amsterdam 3 times! From D82 to C6 and then to C11. The distance between B82 and C was 20-30 minutes walk. No rushing was needed though, the flight was delayed for 1:30h and after we all boarded a further delay was announced. I will never fly with KLM."

Ensuite reacheminement en bus ou taxi pour les plus chanceux. Sans qu’on nous donne le moindre repas. Pourtant atterrissage prévu initialement vers 11h. La il est 14h10 passé et le ventre vide et toujours sur la route entre Lyon et Genève."

Nadelen: "Poor communication between delta, KLM and Air France meant that I couldn’t check in online and get a digital boarding pass. Furthermore I couldn’t use the check-in kiosks because my name was listed as Reidmr instead of Reid, which meant that my boarding pass did not match my passport. Overall this caused unnecessary delays that were compounded by the fact that I couldn’t use my TSA precheck. My main problem on the plane was that I had to struggle to get water served to me. It’s always so dry on planes and I would have liked to be able to get more than one tiny glass of water at a time. Also, would have loved a window at my window seat. Plus no WIFI!?"

Nadelen: "Our flight was canceled from Amsterdam to Bordeaux and did not receive any direction and had to find alternate flights for ourselves with the personal expense of using our own cell phones. Then our luggage lost for 3 days. Not happy! We ended up flying from Toronto to Paris then to Bordeaux. Lost my upgrade money for seats. Now have to deal with KLM for refund!"

Nadelen: "Flight from Amsterdam was 2 hours late. Caused me to miss connection on train from London to Leeds which then cost me 124 pounds to rebook. No information was forthcoming at all at the airport and there were 3 different departure times given. Absolute chaos. The airline is a joke"

Nadelen: "A quoi bon s'enregistrer en ligne si apres, c'est un problème pour obtenir les étiquettes bagages, que ca coince a la depose bagage, que le personnel affirme a tort que les bagages sont enregistrés jusqu'à destination finale (ce n'était pas la cas)"

Voordelen: "Staff superb. They even surprised us with an exit row and a gift for my partners birthday! Amazing. Samantha and Dennis also took time to come and personally wish him a happy birthday. A lovely touch. This airline runs like clockwork. They are just great. The sandwich and stoop waffle are nice too."

Within a few hours (and thanks to airline assistance) we were able to locate the suitcase. Even then it took them two days to bring it to us, two precious days off our planned vacation (7 days) At the end of the shortened vacation, we got to the chek in, and told that since the ticket I had purchased form them two months earlier was too cheap ... and since the flight was Over booked, they would take me off the plane if all the passengers would arrive. It's unnecessary to describe what I felt until the plane took off. They apologize constantly, but do nothing practical. a bae company. no me nor my freinds/family will go with KLM"
