Voordelen: "We boarded close to on time, no hassles. Allowed my husband and me (retired military) to board early, thank you."
Nadelen: "LAX security is awful. We never left the airport (arrived LAX from Sydney AU) yet were forced thru security again. Had to remove shoes, was scanned and "frisked" by TSA to get to Denver. To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."

Voordelen: "Not much. Boarding by "zone" works ok, but is no quicker than most other boarding methods."
Nadelen: "Boeing 767-400ER seats had no leg room for 6'+ traveller like me. The entertainment system was so old that there were no 115v outlets or USB ports. On a 7-hour flight, that is a significant problem for travellers today with multiple electronic devices. Finally, we were not told in advance that we had to go through security twice and through US Customs BEFORE leaving Dublin. So, the 6-hour layover at JFK was a complete waste of our time as we did not have to go through Customs there."

Nadelen: "Poor communication, a 6 hour delay followed by a 7 hour layover (during which we had to sleep on an airport floor because Delta couldn't offer us any hotel vouchers). Gate agents disappeared after 7pm becuase they were due to be done with their shifts when our flight was originally supposed to leave at 6 pm. It felt like we were trapped in the movie The Terminal. Oh! And our bag was misrouted, because that was just how things went those 2 days. All in all a 6 hour trip turned into 18 hours. I could have driven home in that amount of time!"

Nadelen: "My daughter was stuck in SLC for 5 hours because there 1 cancelled flight and 1 delayed flight. It was very upsetting not knowing when she going to arrive in Denver."

Voordelen: "The entertainment unit allowed me to watch the Denver Broncos game live which helped lessen the delayed departure and uncomfortable seating."
Nadelen: "Uncomfortable seating....too crowded!! We had a delayed departure by 30-40 minutes because of a computer download issue. Too many folks carrying carry-ons delayed boarding. I wish folks were not encouraged to go that route but to check baggage. This time of year gets even tougher with folks carrying Christmas presents and over sized personal items. Ugh. Not fun to travel this time of year."

Even on short flights with aeromexico outside the U.S. you get movies and food. Zero stars for comfort, food and entertainment."

Voordelen: "Some "perk" for Diamond status on Delta to get to a shorter security line, but customs and immigration was... customs and immigration."
Nadelen: "No available SkyTeam lounge unless you had a business class ticket. As a Diamond flier, I can always access the SkyTeam lounges. Audio for boarding was a little unclear so there was some confusion at boarding. For reasons unknown, my bag was moved from one overhead bin to another. Very frustrating since I board early to avoid this confusion and hassle."

Voordelen: "The plane, crew was clean, newer and had TV's in the backrests. Remember to bring headphones! Seats are tight, but the crew was friendly and may the flight experience positive."

Voordelen: "Service was excellent. Boarding fast and efficient, but would be better if the grouped."
Nadelen: "I am only 6 ft but knees hit the seat in front. Tray table hits my stomach even without the recline on front seat. Woman across aisle from me couldn't get out of her seat when the person in front reclined. This should just be illegal, period! Food was not very good. Entertainment options was limited."

Voordelen: "Exceptionally clean gate area and aircraft. Professional and friendly gate crew as well as flight crew. Well treated as a passenger. Genuine."

Nadelen: "Retard de l'avion ( 3-4 vols différents). Perte de mes bagages qui à entraîner un déplacement pour rien à l'étranger pour le travail vu que je n'avais pas le matériel de travail avec moi. Nous faire monter dans l'avion, rouler sur le tarmac, après 30 min de prise de retard sur le départ, nous annoncer qu'on retourner à l'aéroport et qu'il fallait changer d'avion pour problèmes techniques. Pour nous annuler complètement Le vol! Nous faire descendre de l'avion, devoir aller se trouver un autre vol, aller recuperer la valise, retourner l'enregistrer, et retourner à la sécurité tous ça avec une amabilité digne de la froideur allemande! Auncuns repas ou autre bois a été offert au moin pour s'excuser. Après avoir eu tous ces problèmes avec la même compagnie j'ai contacter à plusieurs reprises le service client qui m'a raccrocher au nez! On m'a dit qu'on me remboursait Le vol. Je n'ai jamais eu de nouvelles."

Nadelen: "There is no one at Kayak to answer questions on weekends. Message says "call back during 'regular' business hours" but does not specify what that means, nor what time zone they are in. (BTW, most people travel on weekends so ya may want to consider providing customer service then...duh). When I finally was able to reach someone in order to upgrage to Premium Economy, they could not help me but said they would send an email with an answer to how much that would cost. The email never came. I will never book with Kayak again."

Voordelen: "Lufthansa always impresses with good food featuring more local ingredients (sauerkraut and mache when leaving Europe), loads of in-flight entertainment included in the ticket price and a very speedy boarding process, even when dealing with United States security requirements. I always like beer and wine being offered at meals as part of the flight price, as well as the aperitif option too."
Nadelen: "There were a few flight crew this time that disappointed by being less than professional and less than present, knocking serving carts into chairs, being curt in their service and less polite than usual. I noticed two flight attendants in particular this time when normally the entire flight crew is very professional, courteous and timely. Flight was also late leaving Munich (computer issues) which made connecting flights in Denver difficult."

Voordelen: "Good was yummy and the setwardess were super friendly. Staff was plentiful and the plan was very modern and high tech. Also had a layover in Munich airport and it was amazing. Very high tech, I took advantage of the napcaps and shower facilities. Also the restaurants were on par with great red win."
Nadelen: "The flight was 11 hours.... can you make that a little quicker next time, I mean come on it's 2017...."

Voordelen: "They fed us well, and the food was surprisingly good. Feather pillows were a nice touch, and great variety of movies to choose from on the long flight."

Voordelen: "I loved the TVs, food, and the service. The TV's had so much to watch, and made the time pass so much faster. The service was amazing! They came by so often to give us whatever we needed! Great experience!"

Voordelen: "Best part: Getting off the plane and swearing never to fly with Lufthansa again."
Nadelen: "Flying to Munich- flight was cancelled. Had to rebook on United for the following day. Arrived almost 2 days late (the original was direct, the United had layovers) and missed a planned trip to Neuschwanstein castle. Flying from Munich- The entertainment screen was broken, completely unusable. After a hard reset by the flight attendant several times... Still broken. She said she thought it would fix itself once we were at cruising altitude. Nope. Notified the flight attendant who said vaguely "I'll see what I can do..." Never came back to check, never got offered any sort of compensation (even something like a free mixed drink would have been nice), offer to move seats, nothing. So- ten hours with no entertainment/nothing to watch, just a malfunctioning screen. Food was mediocre. We boarded late, and left almost 1 hour late because they had to wait for an employee (who was not working, just getting a ride back) to board. Literally there and back with Lufthansa was a fiasco. On top of it, we have been back for 3 weeks and are still waiting to hear back from Lufthansa customer service. Apparently they only communicate by email with complaints. Not over the phone. So after repeated emails, just radio silence. Terrible airline."

Nadelen: "Boarding process was torture. Lufthansa invited us to check-in early, but would not allow us to finish the check-in online process the day prior: seemed to be glitch in their computer system. We arrived at the airport early, but no one at Lufthansa could help us with seat assignments in order to seat our 12-yo daughter next to a partent. The airline did not open the gate area until 1+35 prior to the flight (advertised 2-hrs prior), and did not put anyone at the gate-desk until 1-hr prior to departure ...and they still could not help us. Boarding was disorganized; Lufthansa appeared to board by different groups, but there were no announcements as to which group(s) should board. Instead there was just a large crowd milling about, waiting to push their way to a gate agent. Very un-German."

Voordelen: "Lufthansa is by far the best airline. All crew members were very friendly and attentive. Food was also great."

Voordelen: "I have a servere hearing problem and was concerned (since we were late leaving Zurich for my changeover in Frankfurt), that I would be late because I can't hear any loudspeaker systems (either on planes or in airports). I felt that I could get easily lost between flights and not have time to get to the Frankfurt/Denver flight. I told this to the person at the gate in Zurich, and he immediately arranged for someone to meet me in Frankfurt and take me there. I was met by Maika in Frankfurt and she was just excellent--personable and efficient and really helpful. I'm sorry I couldn't remember the name of the person at the gate in Zurich. He was also great. I wouldn't have done this if I had had more time, but this really made my day (and my flight!) ! Thank you!"

Nadelen: "Seated near and next to me were about 9 German men who had begun their vacation to Colorado in the airport bar prior to the flight. I was seated in a middle seat "J" (I believe) in row 37 or 39. The men were receiving from the stewardesses repeatedly two glasses at a time and kept going back to the galley and getting two glasses of wine at a time Although they were loud, congregating in the aisle around rows 37 and 39 they were not limited in what they could drink. The two on either side of me were disrespectful of my personal space and were very inappropriate. I got up and went to the galley behind my seat to ask the stewardesses to get me another seat. During this time the guys kept coming back to this galley for more wine still taking two at a time. The stewardesses explained that the plane was full. Others complained also. I then asked the stewardesses if since they were over serving these guys, would they trade one of their jump seats with me. At this point they cut the guys off and got the pursar. She talked to them and ignored my personal safety concerns and said no one gets on a plane drunk (yeah, right) and that they would now behave and were asleep. That's why they are still talking at the top of their lungs and standing in the aisle? I asked. I wish I had video recorded this, I did not as others with kids in the aisles across from me did. I hope their videos go viral Not impressed with Lufthansa"

Voordelen: "Everything was wonderful. I'll definitely choose Lufthansa again!"

Nadelen: "the connection flights was the worse! The gate was changed in Amsterdam 3 times! From D82 to C6 and then to C11. The distance between B82 and C was 20-30 minutes walk. No rushing was needed though, the flight was delayed for 1:30h and after we all boarded a further delay was announced. I will never fly with KLM."

A lovely touch. This airline runs like clockwork. They are just great. The sandwich and stoop waffle are nice too."

Nadelen: "Horrible. First, we lost a suitcase. It could happen but for two days they did nothing and only told us stories (so as not to use the word lies). Within a few hours (and thanks to airline assistance) we were able to locate the suitcase. Even then it took them two days to bring it to us, two precious days off our planned vacation (7 days) At the end of the shortened vacation, we got to the chek in, and told that since the ticket I had purchased form them two months earlier was too cheap ... and since the flight was Over booked, they would take me off the plane if all the passengers would arrive. It's unnecessary to describe what I felt until the plane took off. They apologize constantly, but do nothing practical. a bae company. no me nor my freinds/family will go with KLM"

Nadelen: "Check-in counters opened only 2 hours before departure. These days most European airlines counters are open 6-24 hours in advance. Was not really an issue for this small aircraft and lines moving fast once opened."

Nadelen: "I don't live in Riga and had pick up scheduled in Rigas airport to take me home to Telsiai, Lithuania. Because flight was delayed and I had to fly to Talin and then to RigaI I arrived at 10pm plus took me another 30min to figure out what happened with my luggage. I am still in Riga waiting for the morning to schedule another ride home. Very long , inconvenient trip ;-("

Nadelen: "They lost my luggage at some point in the short journey."

Voordelen: "Flight was not packed, plenty of overhead space and seamless boarding process getting on. Crew was attentive. Food not bad."

Voordelen: "HiFly is awful. Terrible food. Really not much service. It gets you from point A to B ..... but not always. Our return flight was cancelled with no reason given. Instead of a 2pm direct we were put on an 8am with a layover. The only saving grace is that our transatlantic was on Delta, which was amazing."

Voordelen: "World best airline since my last flight to Hong Kong. New aircraft with the most confortable and complete flight experience I had in years in economy class. Seat confort, movie selection and quality of the screen, food quality, boarding speed, cabine pressure, all was immaculate."
Nadelen: "They promised an upgrade to premium economy and then they didn't follow through, they lied when they said that row 30 was premium economy, all this felt very very weird. Jacqueline the flight attendant recognised the problem and gave us premium headphones to make up for the error."

Voordelen: "Very simple but reliable and confortable flight. We got clear instructions to get to the next terminal"
Nadelen: "We took off late and arrived even later so we had to run to get to the next plane"

Nadelen: "Food was not good at all on outbound flight, limited vegetarian options inbound and was not able to select preference prior to flight. staff on outbound flight were unfriendly and service stopped after meal."

Voordelen: "Food was provided when the flight was delayed for 2 1/2 hours. I also really liked the text update from kayak about the delay. The airline did not keep me updated but kayak did."
Nadelen: "The delay when it was already a 6 hour flight. I also was not able to reserve a seat because I had booked through kayak and not with the airline. Finally of the most irritating of all annoyance was that there was no movie. This was an international flight and there was no entertainment. I will never fly American Airlines again."

Nadelen: "I missed my flight from Chicago to Paris. Because I purchased it through Kayak instead of directly through Finnair or American Airlines, their 'hands were tied' and they could not reroute nor reschedule me. Not only that, but because I was not on the flight to Paris, my returning flights were automatically cancelled. While this is probably included in the fine print etc., I find it ridiculous. There should be a better alternative for people who miss their flights than forcing them to pay a lump sum that is higher than the original ticket price in order to reschedule their ticket. Moral of the story: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU BUY THROUGH KAYAK OR SIMILAR AGENCIES, BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ATROCIOUS."

Nadelen: "Don't understand why they do not open to get the seat until 36 hours ago. Our family of 4 got scattered all over; the agent was not at all helpful -- they seemed bitter about their working condition and the fact that they had to deal with dissatisfied customers. I talked to the supervisor and we were finally able to sit together just because a party of 4 did not show up. I am not at all happy with the AA for their stupid rule."

Voordelen: "The more modern plane with USB ports that actually charge and the higher quality and bigger displays really help make the trip more enjoyable."
Nadelen: "Not as much to eat on this BA flight back to Philidelphia from Hethrow as there was on the American Airlines flight there."

Nadelen: "The vegetarian food was very boring and small portions. Please spice it up and don't just take away things. Add things: tofu, mushrooms. Whatever."

Voordelen: "It was not Finnair it was all British airways."

Voordelen: "Crew was (as usual on BA flights) friendly, attentive, and personable."
Nadelen: "Boarding was a bit chaotic. Everyone was all bunched up and you could not get through when your rows were called. Also, when they "boarded by rows" the called rows 23-50+ all at once so that people were all bunched up in the isles of the plane. It really did not help"

Nadelen: "Hi -- the flight was fine. A bit of turbulence and rocky but it was raining so it's understandable. The crew was nice, professional. The plan was actually delayed 1.5 hours. They sent a text message at 7:15 apparently but my phone was not on so I understand not receiving it. I also left for the airport around 7:15. I also received an email from Kayak at 7 am that said there was no delay so I didn't check to see if there would be any others. I never received an email from Kayak about the delay. I would just suggest making sure all the alerts I get are correct. I also receieved an email to check in 72 hours before the flight but it wouldn't let me on Finnair.com Maybe I was supposed to go to Open Skies. Thanks! Melodie"

Voordelen: "The entertainment and service was the only plus on this flight."
Nadelen: "When I booked my ticket a month in advance, British Airways was going to charge me extra for trying to book my seating in advance. They told me it would be free if I called 24hrs before the flight. I called 24hrs before and they told me they could not book my seats because the airport owned the seating. My first flight was with American Airlines, they gave me a boarding pass, however for my leg with British Airways, I had to go get ANOTHER boarding pass to board the flight. This airline was very inconvenient and I felt scammed booking with them. I would not recommend this airline to anyone!"

Voordelen: "Good entertainment. Arrived on time. Unnoticeable smooth landing."
Nadelen: "OK. For what I paid, I am not expecting much."

Nadelen: "Nothing really. Short flight so no entertainment."

Nadelen: "American Airlines caterers do not stock Tea on flight to London, UK (major up-roar). Staff was pretty grouchy."

Voordelen: "The flight itself was very good. The food is descent and there are good selection of movies."
Nadelen: "My bag was left in London during my connection and arrived in Denver the next day. From what I understand once my bag arrived it was handed off to a third party delivery company. I am not sure how to complain to this company, maybe British Airways has a way to do it since they hired them. My bag must have arrived around 3:30pm in Denver. I got a text at 5pm that my bag was being delivered, which is fine so far. I did not hear before 10pm from the delivery guy about an estimated delivery time of my luggage, at that point he said he would show up around midnight. He eventually arrived at 3am. I don't know how the delivery company plans their deliveries but this is rather unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this happens to me. Do they really always expect people to stay up until 3am the day after an international flight to get their luggage that was mis-handled by the airline.... I'd rather just drive to the airport myself the next day to get my suitcase myself."

Voordelen: "The service is great , I enjoyed the food as well. Attendants were very friendly."
Nadelen: "When flying from US to Erupoe there should be a private tv screen directly in front of every passenger. On this flight the tv is in the middle of the isle on the ceiling. That's terrible ! When you are on a 8 + hour flight. People want their own screen with their own options. Been on many flights to and from Eruope , this was the only flight that was set up like this. Change it"

Nadelen: "No entertainment system for each passenger."

Nadelen: "There was a terrible smell; food and drinks were served two hours after the flight started, it was dirty, cold and cramped. The whole experience was traumatising!"

Voordelen: "Got a very nice vegetarian meal"
Nadelen: "Entertainment system didn't work"

Nadelen: "When I got to Phl I missed my connection to London. No one seemed to care that I needed to be in England by the 18th. They kept retorting me to arrive in England on the 19th. I told them multiple times Id be flexible and go to any city in the UK just for them to get me there on the 18th. The First person I talked to said it was impossible. So I called again and talked to another person and all of a sudden it was possible. The worst part was they sent me to Boston after that I didn't get to Boston until 1:50 am and they did not compensate with hotel or anything while my flight to London was not until 8:00 am the next morning. So I spent the night in the airport. Oh and then when I finally got to London, my bag is lost and they told me I'd have it by tomorrow and I still do not have my bag and have called and they said they can't tell me anything."

Voordelen: "Everything about the flight was good"

Voordelen: "Crew were nice, and since it was actually an AA flight we got upgraded to economy plus. And the price couldn't be beat!"
Nadelen: "It was one of the oldest planes I've flown on for many years; single screen entertainment and uncomfortable seats. Food was unusual, but pretty poor."

Nadelen: "One crew member was extremely curt to myself and fellow passengers, not telling us to put down viewer, just slamming it away. Could have said something, been pleasant."

Voordelen: "The crew is perfect. The food is good. Thank you, Finnish guys!"

Nadelen: "Video system needed to be reset often for entire plane."

Voordelen: "I was so bummed about having a middle seat, but it really wasn't that bad! The crew did a great job of explaining which custom forms needed to be filled out in advance. I like that they did this early in the flight so I could relax and sleep the rest of the time."
Nadelen: "I asked for a eye mask and socks and it was never provided, although the toothbrush kit said I could ask for it if needed. I didn't like that the TV controls were on the arm rest - the person next to me kept putting him arm on mine and my movies kept starting from the beginning over and over again! Not the fault of the airline, but small annoyance."

Nadelen: "this was an american airlines flight sold as though it were a finnair flight. as a result, we were unable to check in online or choose seats online. this was a huge inconvenience, as we were only able to choose seats at the check in desk just before the flight. why, kayak, are you playing this age? don't try to miss lead me regarding what airline I'm flying."

Voordelen: "The crew was good that was it."
Nadelen: "The plane was old, no individual tv's such for a cross Atlantic flight is not good. The food was bad, I had intestinal issues for 2 days after the flight. The seats were old and a bit on the dirty side. My headphone jack didn't work either so i couldn't even listen to the public movie playing."

Voordelen: "Handicapped&elderly ground services. Without them I had missed the London/Phoenix plane. I am deafened as adult and could use this service. They fighter me through. Finnair flight Helsinki/London was excellent and ground services in Helsinki. As well as in Phoenix"
Nadelen: "Too short time to transfer"

Voordelen: "Good movie selection?"
Nadelen: "I had to pay for extra luggage, because though I paid for an Economy Standard ticket which does come with checked-in baggage, there was nothing written on my ticket to prove it. I paid for the standard ticket ahead of time specifically. Although the staff were nice enough, for a struggling student, this mix-up was unacceptable. I now find myself making calls and trying to get in contact with both Kayak and Icelandair for a refund of the 88euro. I think I was particularly unlucky, because I was picked twice for special security checks, which pulled me out of the line I was waiting in while the flight was delayed, and I had to re-enter the line at the end. Though I requested window seats, I did not receive one either time (though I knew it wasn't guaranteed). There was also no overhead storage space for carry-ons overhead, so I had to make my way to the front of the plane to store my backpack, and several of those who came after me had to sit with their carry-ons on their lap. The seats were also pretty uncomfortable with a thick unadjustable headrest; and the air quality was terrible, a bit smelly and very dry. As a frequent flyer (who does fly with icelandair occasionally) this was unusual."

Voordelen: "Nothing good about this airline"
Nadelen: "Forget about comfortable experience during the flight. The way how they list the ticket from Kayak is the scam. Stated Economy class on Kayak and their own website ticket info. Once you chek in, they will stated this is the cheapest economy ticket, doesnt allow any baggage, and you have to pay I think around $150 for round trip baggage. End up with just to carry on, wouldnt able to shop in Europe. If you includ baggage flight would be similar to other airline provide baggage and quality services. Huge mistake, customer service located overseas, and dont care about customer."

Voordelen: "My exit aisle seat was just great, with no one on either side of me !!!!! Very kind airplane staff. I had a great sleep."

Nadelen: "Multi-hour delays - strike induced on outbound flight, weather induced on return flight. Email notifications were nice but inconsistent. Expensive food."

Nadelen: "My flight was delayed an hour and a half with no explanation so I almost missed my connecting flight even after sprinting through the airport. I called for a reason why it was so delayed and the customer service rep had a poor attitude and offered little help."

Nadelen: "Food offerings for 7.5 hour flight very limited, and not complimentary. This was not communicated when I booked the flight (would have considered using a different airline). Entertainment options were limited compared to other airlines' long-distance offerings. Only two beverage service in 8 hours, no complimentary snacks, and each time I wasn't given the entire can of soda, just poured a small glass. Pretty skimpy. My family members who used different airlines got a much more for their money, with similar ticket price. Flight took off late and we did not make up time in the air so we arrived an hour late."

Nadelen: "Too bad that there is no food included in the flights. We bought sandwiches, and they were worth it though :)"

Voordelen: "Icelandair's seat headrests are very comfortable for sleeping."
Nadelen: "The Reykjavik airport, although it has nice restaurants, is ill equipped to handle the number of passengers going through it!"

Voordelen: "Size of the Reykjavik airport."
Nadelen: "Not enough space for legs in the economy class. The chair back support was not working correctly ( couldn't be blocked in the reclined position). Very uncomfortable chairs overall. No food included in the price of a ticket for such long flight? Poorly organized and managed departure process. The passenger next to me was sick looking. He was coughing loudly and frequently all the time during that flight. For more then 7h of the flight no flight attendant demonstrated ANY interest or offered any help. Furthermore when his female companion (wife?) asked just for cup of water so he could get his meds at the beginning of the flight they were told to wait for the regular service to start (what took app 30min). So overall my impression of the Icelandair service is no more then just O'k."

Voordelen: "The separate cabin"
Nadelen: "The business seats did not have leg elevation & did not lie flat making sleep difficult. Comfort was compromised since I could not elevate my legs"

Voordelen: "Our high-school friend had never flown before and she needed to come home early from our trip to Germany. You all treated her so well, and made her trip home pleasant. Thank you."

Voordelen: "We normally really like flying Icelandair and enjoy the ability to have a stopover in Iceland. The crew is always very nice and this flight was no exception."
Nadelen: "The plane, or at least our section of it, was very warm. We were near the doors between Business Class and Economy, so we were expecting it to be even a little cold, but it was so warm that I was in a tank top the entire flight. The boarding process in Reykjavik was very odd, even for them. There was just a door in the wall under our gate # and without warning it was opened and everyone just got up and went through it. There was no announcement. Apparently the checkin desk was upstairs. We then waited 20 minutes in line, before they finally started boarding us int he order we were queued - again, no announcement."

Voordelen: "Flown Icelandair many times and like them."
Nadelen: "Flight attendant told me I couldn't drink my own drinkI had brought with me. Everyone around me also brought their drinks and she didn't say anything to them!"

Voordelen: "There was more leg room that we thought there would be; we were left alone to sleep by the attendants. The pilots let us know important information."
Nadelen: "We were 3 hours late to Denver after leaving Iceland late. This was partially due to weather. The only upsetting thing was the $31 "dinner" available in the airport consisting of a frozen individual pizza, sandwich and 2 waters! We felt like we were being gouged for the airlines issues. The entertainment system on this flight from Iceland to Denver was a bit old and of all four flights, the system was difficult to access."

Voordelen: "I liked that the pilot communicated with the passengers regarding when to expect the turbulence and the timing."
Nadelen: "i didn't like that my flight was delayed for 2 and a half hours and that I missed my flight from Boston to Slat Lake because of that delay. I had to wait in the airport overnight for the next flight next morning and the icelandic airline refused to give me a voucher for the hotel. They said that because i didn't book my flight to salt lake on the same ticket, I am not qualified for the hotel."

Voordelen: "The entertainment provided was great, the seats were fairly comfortable and the flight crew was great"
Nadelen: "My friend flew Delta to our same location at almost the same time for a slightly cheaper fair and she received two free meals and two hot towels aboard the flight. I wasn't expecting to have to pay for dinner. Otherwise I would have brought food on."

Voordelen: "It eventually got where we needed to go. Flight crew was OK and boarding was fairly efficient."
Nadelen: "USB jack at my seat was broken; my neighbor let me use hers for a bit. Her headphone jack was broken, so I offered to let her use mine, but then she needed to use my TV, so that wasn't ideal either. Many errors using the entertainment system--very laggy and frequent "temporarily unavailable" messages. Also, we were about 40 minutes delayed due to a mechanical issue (discovered once we were all boarded, extending an already lengthy flight)."

Voordelen: "Sat in exit row for the leg room but ended up with a bruised tailbone from the seats cross support. Could barely sit for a week"

Voordelen: "Crew was very professional and responsive to a difficult weather situation at the airport in Reykjavik."
Nadelen: "Admittedly this is something of an airport issue more than an airline issue, however considering Icelandair is one of the few airlines servicing the airport in Reykjavik there has to be some level of coordination going on between the two entities. Regardless, 5 different US-bound flights were all scheduled to leave within 15 minutes of each other in the same small corner of the Reykjavik airport, so when delays started coming in due to weather that area became an extremely congested mess. Perhaps its a cultural norm in Iceland to just remain silent in times of mini-crisis, but the desk attendants made no effort to communicate what was going on to the hundreds of people crammed in atop one another in the waiting area. This led to a lot of frustration from the waiting travelers. Both of these problems could have been prevented by better planning (not scheduling all outbound flights happening in a quarter hour's time into the same small corner of the airport) and better communication from the airline staff, the lack of which really aggravated a difficult situation for the people there. Once on the flight, though, everything went very smoothly, and the flight crew was quite apologetic and professional."

Nadelen: "Boarding was late. Head phone Jack didn't work and seat recliner wouldn't stay back"

Voordelen: "On time service. Video selections. On-board wi-fi."
Nadelen: "1. Same comments regarding cramped seating as above. 2. Boarding in Reykjavik was a total fiasco. Management should visit a European or US airport to see how to load a plane in an organized fashion, as opposed to the free-for-all used in Reykjavik now. 3. Food selection for an over water flight of 7 hours was abominable! And passengers are asked to pay for it too...unheard of for trans-ocean flights."

Voordelen: "The in flight entertainment"
Nadelen: "The crew were rude and unwelcoming. Having to actually PURCHASE food and drinks on an international, transatlantic flight is ludicrous. Having made the trip from the USA to Europe many, many times, this was a shock and something that i didn't prepare for. The cabin crew were extremely rude and uncaring. Being offered a drink of water once in 7.5 hours is ridiculous and frankly dangerous for some. This was not a cheap flight, so for such poor service, I think things need to change. A smile from a crew member may not go a miss either. Thanks Icelandair, but i shall not be choosing you for my travel needs in the future, and neither will my friends and colleagues."

Nadelen: "When we arrived at Keflavik airport the terminal was immensely crowded with several flights due to leave the US at once. It was overcrowded to the point of being uncomfortable and there was a 30min+ wait to buy food from the only shop. As a result we did not have time to grab a bite to eat between flights. My partner was subjected to additional TSA checks which I am aware is a random check and a nescessity but due to the amount of flights departing for the US this took an extra hour, and delayed our flight. I'm thankful that Iceland Air didn't leave without us but it was an immensely stressful experience that I don't wish to go through again."

Voordelen: "Nothing to like except that we finally got here."
Nadelen: "Late departure. Not enough fuel in plane so had to refuel in Minneapolis. Even with headwinds, there should have been enough fuel put into the plane to complete the trip. They stopped in at an airport that was experiencing thunderstorms, and while we were refueling, our plan was struck by lightening and then had to to be examined for damage before continuing on. We were on the ground, in the plane, for a total of 4 hours, waiting. Finally were advised that the crew had "timed out" and could not fly any more that day, so we spent the night and all the next day sleeping on the floor in the airport. Icelandair was not at all prepared for such a situation. Situation was somewhat chaotic with incomplete and inaccurate information given to passengers. Very poor communication on the part of Icelandair, or whoever they contract this function to. We expected to be able to leave the airport the next morning, but were told that the flight would not leave until 5 p.m. Then they changed the time to 8:20 p.m. but didn't announce that. Then that flight delayed until 9:00 p.m. We finally got off the ground a little after 10:00 p.m. On top of all this, many passengers' entertainment systems did not work, and this made for a very long and frustrating flight. Not good, Icelandair."

Nadelen: "Our plane was diverted to refuel - after an hour and a half of increasingly cryptic and contradictory communications while sitting on the ground, we were removed from the plane and given cots to sleep on the airport floor. No staff present to provide information, no communication by email, noone available by phone, no updates on the website, vague rumors from another airline's staff of a "possible flight" the following evening.....no idea how/when we'd get back to Denver. We got a car and started driving...huge vote of no confidence in Iceland Air, its equipment and staff."

Voordelen: "Crew was pleasant. Leg room was better then on airlines in the U.S., and it was much easier to get out of the seat with the armrest lifting mon the aisle seat."
Nadelen: "The boarding process was difficult, as four flights to the U.S. were leaving at the same time and it was almost impossible to get to the gate because of the thick wall of people and no aisles. We were then put on a bus to the plane, but the bus didn't leave for over 30 minutes, well after the takeoff time, and no explanation was given. The temperature on the plane was extremely uncomfortable. Most of the time, it was very hot, and I am accustomed to flights being on the cool side and requesting a blanket. But someone must have been adjusting the temperature, because it would get cold for a short period of time, and then very hot again. It was difficult to sleep because of the temperature. It would have been nice to have some small snacks like pretzels offered with the drinks, and a larger selection of food available."

Voordelen: "I like the flight schedule - leaving Paris at 200 pm and arriving in US AT 7:30 PM. Flight was smooth and connection quick."
Nadelen: "A little snack will nice on such a long trip (7 hours), especially when I pay $1,500 the round trip. Thank you for feeding my granddaughter."

Voordelen: "They upgraded my to economy comfort, which made all of the difference for an 8 hour transatlantic flight."

Nadelen: "Flight was delayed leaving Reykjavik. I watched our baggage be removed from the plane and head to the opposite side of the airport. It was over 30 minutes later that they announced that there was a mechanical issue with our plane and we had to switch planes. The passengers deplaned, boarded buses and were transported to the new plane. We finally took off over 2 hours late. The other major issue we had is that we were located near the back of the plane and the smell of urine and toilet chemicals was overwhelming. Every time the restroom was used, the stench permeated the back of the plane."

Voordelen: "The aircraft, especially the restrooms, was very clean. The crew worked very hard to ensure our comfort. The seats were as comfortable as they ever get on a 757. R routing slips through the gift shop between arrival and departure is a good idea . Even those with a short connection get a chance to buy a puffin."
Nadelen: "The terminal at keflavik is under construction this makes arrivals and departures extremely chaotic both on the ramp and in the terminal. The arrangement of gates is so chaotic that it is often very difficult to get to your gate because of large number of passengers waiting in line at their gate."

Nadelen: "See above. On the flight from Denver to Amsterdam (you didn't ask about this, but I'll comment anyway), we had business class seats. They were really little more than large regular seats with legroom. We did get food on the flights, unlike the economy class. I have a major gripe about Icelander not telling you how their definitions of seating class differs from the rest of the Western airline industry. Quite deceptive."

Voordelen: "The previous Icelandair flight from Paris to Reykiavik was late and arrived over an hour after the scheduled departure time for the Reykiavik to Denver segment. We were assured that the flight would wait for the late arrivals, and it did. We were, of course, greatly relieved. I can't help wondering, however, How could a scheduled flight be held up for this long and how would the passengers already on the plane feel."
Nadelen: "Only drinks like water, tea, coffee and juices are served free on Icelandair flights. There is a menu for sandwiches and snacks. But the selection is rather anemic for a 7 hour long flight."

Voordelen: "Smooth flight even when descending into Denver with stormy skies."
Nadelen: "Biggest complaint is that a foot got broken off my largest suitcase somewhere between London and Denver. Not possible of course to tell when that happened, but it makes the suitcase pretty unusable now. A plastic connector for a strap on another suitcase got broken on my outbound journey too. Luggage handlers must be unnecessarily rough with the luggage to make that happen. Not sure I'll fly Icelandair again because of that. I was not able to get the "my journey" screen to work on the screen, but otherwise the video and sound qualities were good and controls worked well. After landing, something made a terrible squeal while taxiing to the airport (landing gear?). If my car sounded like that, I'd surely take it in and get it fixed!"

Voordelen: "free movies, wifi, water, very comfortable"

Nadelen: "It is ridiculous, or a new norm, that airlines are not serving food or drinks even on the transcontinental flights."

Voordelen: "Clean plane and movies"
Nadelen: "For an international flight, everything was limited: pay for food, movies and tv shows were old, and the seats were the new cheap and thin ones Frontier Airline has. Will not be flying Icelandair again to anywhere else unless it's to go to Iceland direct from Denver again."

Voordelen: "Seats were very comfortable, crew was very nice."
Nadelen: "At the airport gate in Reykjavik, it felt a bit chaotic. Just a long line of people waiting to board for a long time. Not much organization"

Voordelen: "I just wanted to let the airline know that two attendants, and I am sorry I didn't get their names, but were on my flight, were extremely kind and helpful to me. I have some health issues and I started to feel ill. They made sure I had all the water/liquid I needed, and they checked in with me quite a bit. Very appreciated. Thank you"
Nadelen: "Seats of course are so tiny. I am small - 5'7" and 108 pounds - and it is hard for me to "curl" into the seat the way I do on most airlines. Pretty uncomfortable, but I cannot imagine how larger people even manage."

Voordelen: "Best thing is they got me another flight for no extra cost when the one I had was canceled. Not the best flight but for the price I would definitely fly again! Very small and easy airport to get through and everyone is very friendly. They come around multiple times offering free drinks and food for purchase. I really enjoyed the flights. Good shows and movies for entertainment."

Voordelen: "The only thing I liked was that I could charge my phone with the USB port"
Nadelen: "I didn't like the fact that there were absolutely no flights going to Denver. We had to fly into Boston in which again because of the language barrier even asking for a pen so filling out the customs form was a "is there any chance I can borrow a pen?" My answer "no" and then she walked off yet when the females beside me needed something she was all about talking to them because they spoke the same language. The plane before taking off, turned off 3 times. Then, when it was time to land, everyone gasped cause it was so rough! All in all really bad experience!"

Voordelen: "The entertainment selection is pretty good. I bought a sandwich which was tasty. I thought the crew was very friendly."
Nadelen: "The seats are small and the arms don't go up, so despite having a whole row, I was still pretty uncomfortable. Better headphone jacks and screens would go a long way too."

Voordelen: "Cabin crew did everything they could to recover from the Iceland Border Patrol Guard Strike. Flight left Reykjavik an hour and a half late because passengers held up going through security. Despite this we landed fifteen minutes early. Somehow the captain had been able to recover. Then we were advised to hurry to US passport control because 350 passengers on a British Airline flight were about to arrive in the terminal. We were just able to beat them through security."
Nadelen: "Had a poor seat assignment."

Voordelen: "The flight was fine, I think Icelandair might have a bit more room than some. We were in the last seat so it was very noisy."
Nadelen: "It took 1hr 45min to get thru customs in Denver. Two planes came in, so we'll over 400 people and 4 agents to get us thru. Ridiculous! They have a schedule of air traffic, NO EXCUSE!"
