Voordelen: "Alitalia gets a bad rap, but I thought this flight was excellent, and a comfortably way to travel the 13 hour flight from Rome to Los Angeles. Cabins recently refurbished on 777 thanks to Etihad Airways investment. Food, and plenty of it, was excellent. Wide selection of wines. Choice between freshly made American coffee or Espresso (from Lavazza). Lie flat seats are way more comfortable than KLM. Esoteric selection of documentaries and Italian movies. Leather seats and color scheme is elegant. Also, business class lounge (Alitalia House) at Rome Fiumincino serves delicious freshly cut Italian cold cuts, cheeses, pastrries, and has an actual barista vs a machine. You don't get the sense that they are cutting corners, which is probably why the airline keeps losing money, but that is to the benefit of the traveler (for now). Service friendly. For nonstop to this part of Europe, or for connections to Southern Europe, it may be my number one Skyteam choice."
Nadelen: "Check in is extremely unorganized and long lines at Sky Priority, but someone finally directed me to the VIP check in in the back, which you can use if you are flying Business Class or have Elite status. This was not indicated anywhere, though, so make sure you ask or look for it if there is a long line at check in. Then, the gate is very, very far. Not sure why they had me check in at Terminal 1 as the gate is in Terminal 3. Make sure to allow for plenty of time, and maybe see if it's possible to check in at Terminal 3, which may well save time. But for a 14-hour flight in total comfort, the trade off was worth it."
Nadelen: "SHOULD HAVE BEEN WARNED THAT THE IMMIGRATION TOOK LONGER THAN EXPECTED BECAUSE OF THE QUEUE."
Nadelen: "Alitalia made me pay 50 Euros for my bag although I am traveling on the same day with them internationally, in less than 3 hours. They said that because I had two separate tickets they couldn't waive the fee. they have just lost a customer."
Nadelen: "Horrible experience with Alitalia. They boarded us on a plane that had a wheel issue, and kept us on the ground for 2 hours before they decided to de-plane us. We then had to wait in a 5+ HOUR LINE to get rerouted (nope, they won't handle these issues online or over the phone, you have to wait in line). And THEN they wanted us to wait in a 2 hour line to re-drop off our bags. We got stuck overnight in Rome and were put in a horrible Hilton Garden Inn and barely made it in time to use our coupon for a "free meal" (aka, frozen meatballs and stale bread in a buffet that had been sitting out all night). On our flight back, the food was absolutely terrible, the movie selections were old and scarce, and the seats were uncomfortable. We called to complain as soon as we got home and still have not heard back from Alitalia. I will never fly with them again."

We got a ticket from her but when we got to the plane nobody said anything and we simply did what we had done all the previous flights we have ever taken, we stowed them in the overhead bins. The flight wasn't full and in fact some overhead bins were completely empty, but I guess she had her job to do and thought it wouldn't fit, but maybe she could have asked if we had used it before. I don't know why they say it's too big when we had been traveling throughout Europe for almost a month and had taken it on 4-5 flights and many other trips. It all worked out. Footnote Air France never made a issue of the exact same baggage that Alitalia said was to big. The bags fit fine on all airlines we have traveled. The flight was delayed 45 minutes which made my connection a bit tight. I was connecting to Air France which is part of The SkyTeam alliance comprises with Alitalia but my luggage could not be moved to the Flight to LAX so I had to get the bag I did check and go through the process all over again."

This time it wasn't automatically changed, and there was no warning, the only solution they were giving us was an afternoon flight the other day, shortening our weekend getaway even more. After half an hour of discussion, they found and earlier flight, with connection, double the time, but that would get us there at around 2pm, so still we were missing almost half a day, but that was the best they could do. The flight was OK, boarding was late, but hey, that seems to always be the experience with this type of flights. I would just say they are not very reliable, having both your outbound and inbound flights cancelled, seems to much, specially if you're just going for a short getaway, you may end up having a one-day getaway!"

The seat pitch is the worst of all low-cost airlines in Europe. Also the plane needs a renovation. We are flying regularly low-cost airlines. But non of the competitors is so expensive. Vueling can’t be recommended."

Nadelen: "I called Vueling to see if I needed to pay for my stroller and he said yes. When I got to the counter I was told that I didn't have to pay for the stroller. So I asked for my money back and they said no. That was B.S."
Voordelen: "Not really a like or dislike, we did not have food or entertainment on the flight it wasn't long enough."

Nadelen: "The flight was overbooked, and the alternative was to fly to barcelina and transit flight to rome. At the end i reached rome 13 hours after the original time table. Vouling service in tel aviv and barcelina was not empathic at all."
Voordelen: "Bag drop was fast, professional. Plane was comfortable, on time."
Nadelen: "Passengers are the key to make everything bad, they can't queue or simply don't know what is a queue for. Some wear a suit and think that they can just cut the queue to the front, and all the staff just allow that happen. They did not have priority boarding."
Nadelen: "The crew were very rude, there was no more overheard space in the cabin so two people in our party had to check their luggage, the washrooms at the rear of the plane were out of order and the they were out of three quarters of the food on the menu - effectively nothing to order!"
Voordelen: "We vlogen terug op tijd."
Nadelen: "Op heenvlucht waren we al aan het taxiën toen ze erachter kwamen dat er 2 passagiers meer dan stoelen in het vliegtuig waren. Prutsers dus. Terug naar de gate, mensen uitladen, wat een gedoe. Beenruimte is echt het kleinste dat ik ooit heb meegemaakt. Dan wordt er ook niet goed opgelet op handbagage en word je rugzak bijzonder onvriendelijk onder je stoel gepropt vanwege te weinig ruimte. Dat was wel m'n enige handbagage, dus waarom mag iemand die teveel mee heeft wel z'n spullen bovenin en ik niet? En waarom moet dat met bruut geweld onder mijn stoel gepropt? Bah, erg onvriendelijk."
Voordelen: "Personeel beleefd maar niet uitzonderlijk. Muziekjes tijdens het boarden en landen waren enigszins hilarisch."
Nadelen: "Vlucht was een slot opgeschoven dus >2h vertraagd. Met mijn 1.95 had ik een onaangename vlucht."

Nadelen: "2 hours flight...... do I habe to buy a bottle of mineral water ? are u kidding me ?"
Voordelen: "If I were told that this were an equivalent airline as SW I would of known to expect the bare minimum. The crew was very sweet and accommodating."
Nadelen: "There was absolutely no leg room, no food was given out and the seats were uncomfortable. Thank goodness we weren't going far."
Voordelen: "The checking lines was faat"
Nadelen: "I got ticket for a good price but according to this fare I ended paying extra bag for 17 euros. Reason I took a early flight that make me pay 30 euros for a taxi . I could get the next flight a bit price but I the end with more priviligilies. The seats are too hard . I am imagine a longer flight on this airplanes. Mine was one an a half hour."
Voordelen: "Nothing. Total disregard for the customer"
Nadelen: "The 5 hour delay and acceptance by the airline that this is business as usual"
Voordelen: "This was our first Ryann air experience and we are very satisfied with the service. The airplane leaved at time and arrived ten minutes earlier. The ratio between what you paid and what you get is much better than the one from American airlines."
Nadelen: "No food, the seats were old, but it was ok,"
Voordelen: "We arrived about 20min earlier than expected. Our bags were checked in for free and we got them on time and without issues at the baggage belt on arrival. Snacks and drinks are not free but available for purchase. There isn't any kind of on-board entertainment. We sat in the last row and we have plenty of leg room - surprisingly."
Nadelen: "No drinks for free. It would be nice to get at least a glass of water. But it is understandable that low budget- short flights are not offering such services anymore."
Nadelen: "We paid extra to sit together in our opinion unnecessarily as when we boarded the plane it was half empty and we could have been placed together anyway. On the return journey we chose not to pay to sit together and the family of six were split up again unecessarily as there were spare seats around. It was then a bit chaotic as people were swapping seats to be together. The system seems unfair and has put us off using Ryanair in the future."

Nadelen: "boarding process is the worst. always having to check in your carryon just to speed up the process. always asking your boarding pass for a second time once you're getting inside the plane...whats the point?"
Nadelen: "Bagage refusé à l'allée car arrive trop tard. Aucune possibilité de médiation si ce n'est que de prendre le vol suivant 4 jours plus tard. On se fait réveiller toutes les 5 min pour no S vendre tout et n'importe quoi. Bref, une très mauvaise expérience qui m'a vacciné :-("
Voordelen: "This flight was one time, all of the staff were very kind and efficient, and we had a pleasant experience."
Nadelen: "low cost feel"
Nadelen: "Ryan Air makes you pay a "Priorty" boarding fee so that you can take your carry-on on board. Then if there's room they'll let non-priority passengers bring their carry-on's. We were at the front of the line for non-priority. They said we had to check our carry-on's because there was no more space. However, they never filled up their overhead bins and they remained empty on the flight! What a scam."
Voordelen: "Todo fue dentro del tiempo planificado, abordaje y aterrizaje"
Nadelen: "When I got to the airport they made my family pay 200 Euros for not checking in online! This is basically robbery, since I had no choice but paying it without ruining the trip of a lifetime. I've never encountered such a fee from any other airline. It's true that they sent an email warning a couple days before, but I was already traveling, so didn't check my email very carefully. I chose Ryanair in order to save money, despite their planes being less comfortable (seats don't lean back at all) and I don't mind too much having to walk onto the runway in order to board the plane. I very careful to to exceed their very strict carry-on weight limits. But in the end it still wound up being the most expensive and frustrating option."
Nadelen: "Bonjour, j'ai réservé un véhicule de type seat Leone ou équivalent le jour de mon vol aller à malaga que la compagnie concernée a refusé de me remettre pour cause de paiement supplémentaire d'une somme d'un montant de 192 euro incluant l'assurance et la gestion de réservoir et frais de dossiers alors que j'ai réglé tout ça au préalable le jour de ma réservation ayant des preuves de cela je souhaiterais un remboursement des frais de réservation Cordialement"
Voordelen: "The general friendly attitude of the staff. I adore the music that is played after we land!!!"
Nadelen: "The boarding took long and the seats, plus no reading material, such as a magazine or newspaper. Everything else was very good."
Nadelen: "Nous avons attedons 1h dans l'avion avant de décoller puis 30min à l'arrivée. J'ai demandé de l'eau, on m'a proposé une bouteille payante - inacceptable !"
Voordelen: "It was in time."
Nadelen: "My luggage was 1cm to big to fit the Ryanair box. Was forced to put it in baggage hold and it cost me 50€. In addition Ryanair staff was really insistant and not accomodating. We take Ryanair because it's cheap. Not for anything else. So when the price jump 50€ there is no interest in taking this company anymore."
Voordelen: "Very friendly and helpful people. We enjoyed our flight and really appreciated all the help to board and depart the flight. Would recommend your airlines to anyone."

Nadelen: "10 € pour un menu sandwich + boisson + snacking, je trouve cela très cher. Le retard. Et pas de divertissement. Mais c'est normal et ce n'est pas dans nos attentes sur ce genre de vol."

Nadelen: "Chez Ryanair tout se paie : les bagages, les sièges, l'impression de ses billets..50 euro par billet pour faire l'enregistrement à leroprt . Personnel pas hyper professionnel, retard à l'embarquement, c'est la première et la dernière fois"
Voordelen: "À l'heure, du moins pour l'aller. On verra pour le retour..."
Nadelen: "Bruyant, peu de place. Les hôtesses passent toutes les 15mn pour vous vendre à manger, des parfums, des tickets de grattage, etc... Bon, c'est Ryanair donc les billets vraiment pas chers mais tout se paye après (enregistrement, réservation des places, bagages, etc...). Mais quand même aller-retour à Porto pour 2 personnes pour 180 euros, çe n'est quand même pas trop cher."

Ridiculous!! This information should be clear to the traveler on the website. It appears to be a cash grab on their part."

Le prix de base semblait correct, puis vinrent les surprises... 25€ pour 1 bagage, mais le pire.... si vous n'imprimez pas votre carte d'embarquement au préalable ou ne téléchargez pas l'application de la compagnie, il vous sera demandé 45€ supplémentaires au checkin!! Un scandale!! Ryanair, been there, done that, never again!"
Voordelen: "Vous faites des locations de voiture et vous n êtes même pas capable de gérer l après vente... à cause de vous je ne sais pas si je rêverais mes 115€. Mais je vais monter un collectif avec toutes les personnes dans le même cas. À la prochaine. :)"
