Nadelen: "I was traveling with a group and wasn't able to be seated with my group for any of my flights including a 12 hour transatlantic flight. For whatever reason, I couldn't actually check in for my flight and select seats prior to arriving at the airport. This happened with each ticket I purchased through every other agency except for orbitz.com. Not sure if that was a Turkish Airlines issue or a kayak.com issue, but it was very frustrating. When we arrived at the airport, we could no longer be seated together because everyone else had already checked in online and selected their seats for an overbooked flight. One of my group members was issued a standby ticket and almost didn't get on one of the flights that we paid a lot of money for. I would call this travel experience subpar, but I don't entirely blame Turkish Airlines for this."

Voordelen: "Traveling business class makes all the difference, as it should. Trolley service lets one see and choose a meal. Attendants were very nice and helpful. Also, the Turkish Air Lounge in Istanbul is incredible and almost worth a destination in its own right."
Nadelen: "we had to stop in berlin. we were not informed about the length of the stop. food service stopped in the middle and then resumed 4 hrs later. the crew did not offer snacks instead. wifi did not work on the plane so we could not inform our families of the delay. headset was not working on both ears. boarding was very long due to extra security checks. not sure why u need to go through this twice..."

Nadelen: "First let me tell you that when I booked a flight to Istanbul from Brussels, I booked, so I thought, the airport called Istanbul Ataturk with the initials of IST. What I got was SAW after I paid for a booking that said IST. Sabina Gokcen is one hour away further on the Asian side of Turkey. I did not want this airport! There was nothing I could do about this but bite the bullet & accept what I got since I was not allowed to have any corrections made after paying for this ticket. I am highly disappointed with Kayak. The first time you have disappointed me greatly!"

From the fresh flowers in the toilet rooms to the selection of top shelf alcohol, it was all first class, and all of this in economy. People who have not flown them will be amazed."
Nadelen: "The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that the aircraft was a Boeing 777 which is new, but less roomy than the Airbus A330."

Nadelen: "I noticed that food service on both my Turkish Airline flights for this trip was slow. I feel in general passengers take a longer time to be served and the time it takes the crew to clean up the trays after a meal is even longer. Some the the passengers win my flights were even getting out of their seats to bring their trays to the flight attendant station because they wanted to be more comfortable in their seats. I also noticed they did not come by to collect trash as frequently as other airlines. The entertainment selection was good as far as movies but the music option was very limited and difficult to navigate."

Nadelen: "cleanliness is a different standard from, say, Lufthansa but not botheringly so. Turkish telecom wastes your time in trying to get on the Istambul Airport wifi - impossible."

Nadelen: "not impressed with the food, They serve 2 meals in 12 hours of flight, First meal was reasonable and second one they only serve some steam vegetables no other options, it was very poor. In boarding process they don't use jet bridge , you have to board on to a bus and than carry your hand carry to the steps to the plane. Kinda old fashion way I took flight from Miami to Karachi with Lay over Istanbul airport for 5 hours. Istanbul airport is not at all good for long lay overs, they don't have enough seating for passengers, very few food choices, not clean bathrooms, Wifi was available for only 2 hours than after that you have to sit outside the Starbucks to get the Wifi. So if you have long lay overs than my advice is to avoid Istanbul airport."

Nadelen: "Have never seen this happen elsewhere, but shortly after boarding, the crew announced they had to do a safety check, which required all the passengers to collect their personal items (i.e. everything from the overhead bins) to hold with them in their seats, as the crew 'checked' the bins and aisles. The procedure didn't seem to delay the flight, but just seemed a little pointless and a waste of effort. Thankfully there wasn't anything found or any other cause for alarm, but it just seemed odd."

So, thankfully I had an aisle seat so I just stuck my knee out to the side...this was a partial solution only as the crew came by at least 5 times on a 2 hour flight with the service cart, smacking my knee each time. No complementary snacks or beverages... not even water. Somewhat surprised that they didn't charge to use the lavatory."
Nadelen: "1 hour queue to check in due to mixed international flights and not enough desks open. No room in overhead lockers, people seemed to have much more than their allowance. Didn't get to buy duty free items on-board as they ran out of time."
