Nadelen: "Retard de l'avion ( 3-4 vols différents). Perte de mes bagages qui à entraîner un déplacement pour rien à l'étranger pour le travail vu que je n'avais pas le matériel de travail avec moi. Nous faire monter dans l'avion, rouler sur le tarmac, après 30 min de prise de retard sur le départ, nous annoncer qu'on retourner à l'aéroport et qu'il fallait changer d'avion pour problèmes techniques. Pour nous annuler complètement Le vol! Nous faire descendre de l'avion, devoir aller se trouver un autre vol, aller recuperer la valise, retourner l'enregistrer, et retourner à la sécurité tous ça avec une amabilité digne de la froideur allemande! Auncuns repas ou autre bois a été offert au moin pour s'excuser. Après avoir eu tous ces problèmes avec la même compagnie j'ai contacter à plusieurs reprises le service client qui m'a raccrocher au nez! On m'a dit qu'on me remboursait Le vol. Je n'ai jamais eu de nouvelles."

Many people on the flight from NY to Brussels were scheduled on this flight and that plane landed in time that this flight would only need to be delayed 10 minutes to allow for us to connect. However, they decided to leave all of us with a long unexpected layover in Brussels, costing many of us a day of what was supposed to be a short vacation for most."

Nadelen: "First of all, the boarding took an hour longer than it should have been so we all sat in the plane dripping with sweat, because it was 100 degrees in Houston and the plane didn't have A/C on until we took off. Food was not good, some mysterious meat they called beef stew and veggies with strange texture. We ended up drinking more since the food was bad. The entertainment choices were OK but the equipment was a bit ancient, my husband's screen ( we sat in the front where screen pulled out of the seat) was broken and was held by a duct tape(???!!!) The seats are small, I have flown with other companies on transatlantic flights and their seats are bigger and more comfortable in economy class."

Nadelen: "I wished to change to an earlier flight with plenty of seats available. the Lufthansa ticket agent stated the only way, as I had booked a "light" fare, was to pay a full-price one-way economy ticket--plus luggage--for about 380 euros with no credit for my current ticket. After booking a day-room at a local hotel, I checked in on-line and discovered for 115 euros I could have upgraded to business class, with luggage included, and been accommodated on schedule changes. My suggestion to Lufthansa is if they intend to rip their customers off it's best NOT TO LET THEM FIND OUT ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, or if they're simply too incompetent to match marketing offers to their booking department they could save considerable income and reputation by closing the ticket office. As it was, the impression was a low-class money grab. It's not like they can count on their partnership with United to make them look good."

Nadelen: "Just odd that I walked a mile thru the airport to make the connection only to board a shuttle bus that went back the same direction for the longest such ride in my life, past parked planes, maintenance areas, fuel storage tanks and finally the cargo plane section where our plane was located. Might be hard on those more impaired than I am to handle the stairs down to the bus loading dock and again up into the plane."

This has not improved since my last flight with Austrian in March 2018. The one reponsible for ordering such junk should be punished by having to eat the muffin himself. Sorry!"

In the U.S., we are customers that paid for a service and are asking for details on that service. In Europe, we are annoyances that depend on staff at the boarding gates to get on the plane, so power tripping and general disdain to customers beings confused are part of the game. I will try never to fly Austrian Airlines again. Absolutely unacceptable behavior toward families, mothers with children, senior citizens. I can almost see the smirks and annoyed and superior attitude of staff at the boarding gate when they had to deal with more passengers asking why boarding hasn't started half an hour ago when we were announced it would. No answers, just show me the passport and boarding pass, ok, please go back, we'll let you know, then ignore questions."

Voordelen: "I flew to Venice on Austrian Airlines to make a connection on an Air Canada flight to Toronto. When we debarked from the Austrian Airline onto the tarmac and picked up our luggage, I could find no signs indicating where to go for connecting flights, nor any signs indicating the gates of connecting flights. I was told that to make a connecting flight, I should go out to the main lobby of the airport, At the information desk they directed me to the Air Canada check in desk, where I found the check-in for my flight was closed. That was the the beginning of a nightmare chase to get to the plane to Toronto. I made it only because of the kindness of people in the check in, security and customs lines. Austrian Airlines should be kinder to its passengers making connecting flights. They seemed to abandon us passengers in a chaotic airport."

Voordelen: "The only positive aspect about this experience was the crew on board the plane. They were pleasant and efficient."
Nadelen: "The true cost of this ticket was extremely poorly communicated. The baggage policy was not clear when I purchased my ticket, and I was charged an additional 30 Euros upon boarding to check a bag that met the carry-on size requirements (I had looked this up ahead of time), but because it was in addition to my purse (which fit under the seat), I was forced to pay to check it. Had I been aware that this ticket only permitted a purse-sized carry-on when purchasing the ticket, I would have selected a different ticket/carrier entirely. What was even more confusing was that I had flown on a similar ticket from London to Vienna, and didn't have any issue bringing a carry-on and a purse, so of course I was surprised when they told me I had to pay an additional 30Euro for the same two bags! When I tried to explain this to the agent, she argued with me and was very unhelpful. Overall, a very negative experience on Austrian Air. I will not be returning."

Where are the movie screens for such a long flight???? 6 1/2 hours of a screaming baby makes for a very uncomfortable journey - also TURN OFF the lights sooner; when people are leaving at 1am; they aren't worried about seeing inside the cabin; they want to be sleeping!!!!"

I made all the call possible to resolve my flight issue and no one could help me either Brussels airline personnel or the kayak customer service. until today i didnt have not even a email to let me know what happen."
Nadelen: "Problème à l'enregistrement en ligne car mon billet Air Canada n'existait pas dans la base de données Brussels Airlines. Cela m'a valu presque 2 heures de téléphone avec Air Canada (0.15 euro la minute). Et puis au comptoir d'enregistrement, nouveau gros problème, celui-là très grave à mon sens. L'agent de comptoir m'a dit que je n'avais pas d'ESTA, donc que je ne pouvais pas partir, alors que j'en avais un. En pleine panique, j'ai appelé ma mère qui heureusement a retrouvé en 5 minutes dans son ordinateur mon numéro d'ESTA. Cela m'a causé une très grosse frayeur, car c'était presque le moment de la fermeture de l'enregistrement, et m'a vraiment gâché le voyage. Je me plains donc franchement du manque de gentillesse et de la qualité du service de l'agent de comptoir. Je précise que j'étais en billet retour, donc il aurait été facile à l'egent de penser que j'avais un ESTA puisque j'avais fait escale à Chicago aussi à l'aller."

As compensation they could at leased given us coffee for free and not have to buy for a bloody expensive high price."
Nadelen: "Very uncomfortable, no refreshments. Everyone on the flight was suprised to find that food and drink cost money. The entire flight, the crew was selling something and you could not pass in aisle or even use toilet for half the fight. No entertainmrnt on a flight of 4.5 hrs and this was not supposed to be a low cost flight."

Nadelen: "The flight attendants were rude and moody like they didnt want to be there and took it out on the people they were suppose to give service to. One flight attendent got upset or acted a little nasty because I asked her for another custom border slip. She said was going to bring one but I guess she forgot and an atleast 30 minutes to an hour went by till I asked her again and she got nasty. The same lady along with the other flight attendants snatched trash out peoples hands like they were diseased...and they had gloves on. When it came to entertainment they didnt have much variety. Unless the price for the flight is dirt cheap or below average I would choose to fly with them again other than that I'll go to another"

Nadelen: "i went to the (galley?) at the back and politely requested a drink, a member of staff refused me because they were just about to begin serving drinks. that's stupid. i was sat right at the back of the plane and wouldn't get a drink for at least 20 minutes because service starts in the middle and works back. fortunately another member of staff (older, female) just reached over and handed me a drink, because she understood it was easier and quicker and more reasonable to do that than to be a dick about it."
Nadelen: "The special meal that I had requested was not available. In fact the only meals on the Brussels to Washington leg were chicken/fish. No vegetarian meal was provided."

Nadelen: "Not a very informative crew, service seemed rushed - I only got 2 small cups of choice of beverage offered on a 6.5 hour flight, which was disappointing as I was unable to purchase a bottle of water in the airport terminal prior to boarding as I was just there for a layover and did not have euros to buy one from the machine."
Voordelen: "The food and drinks were good."
Nadelen: "The flight left 50 minutes after it was scheduled to leave. We were sitting on the hot aircraft the entire time because the crew would not turn on the air. In addition, the host and his service was terrible. When I asked him for water, he told me that I could find it at the back of the flight and I should go get it myself. The other hostess on the other side was handing out waters to whoever needed it. When a passenger sitting next to me asked for a spoon to eat his meal, the host shrugged his shoulders and didn't come back with one. He was blatantly rude and ignored his passenger. We were also not given blankets on an 7-8 hour flight. It was only on request. People who had requested one were then asked to fold and return their blankets (they were not asked kindly) before landing. The selection of tv, music, and shows on board were terrible as well. Barely any selection. Needless to say, this was the worst service I have ever had on an airline."
Nadelen: "1. During check in, they change my seat number that i choose during the reservation process from a front window seat to a rear isle seat 2. Flight was supposed to land in Hamburg. Because of a storm, they went to Hannover. They announced that the time we will stay in Hannover is unknown. Maybe 2 hours... but then no news from the crew during our stop. 3. Several passeNgers asked to get out in Hannover. The crew said they will ask if possible. After one hour waiting in Hannover they did not even ask the airport authorities. Passengers insisted. The crew then said no because they do not want to go through the luggage finding process. 4. Weather was too hot. Waiting time was too long. Passengers Needed drinks and food. Crew only sold these without even offering free snacks, sandwitches, or drinks. 5. Babies and kids were there. No food nor drinks. They survived during 5 extra hours on the plane schedule on biscuits and water. Personnel did not even think of ordering food from hannover airport while waiting there. They only SOLD the snacks they have. 6. We returned to humburg with 5 hours delay over our original schedule. Stayed 2 hours until we got our luggages on the belt 7. Some passengers had to go back to hannover by train. We discover that all trains were stopped die to problems caused by the storm on the railway. They had the choice either to take very expensive taxis or to sleep over in Hamburg!! 8. This could have been avoided if brussel airline had some good will to at least help those passengers get their luggage and leave in Hannover! 9. Overall: very bad experience and crue attitude in Brussel Airlines!"

Nadelen: "I was literally in tears by the end of my flight because my back hurt so bad in the seats. When I was boarding, I had a two hour layover and I still had to run for my flight and they were already boarding when I got there. The food was tasteless. All I could do was try and sleep and pray the flight ended quickly."
Nadelen: "- No order to the boarding in Brussels. I am used to boarding in zones so things tend to be less congested leading up to the jetway. - This may or may not have been something the airline could have changed but sitting in the plane for 5 hours waiting to de-ice was unacceptable. The entire food service was served in this time so no food was available for the 6 hour flight to Accra. Had we been able to wait in the terminal, passengers could get their own food and the food for the flight could have been saved. Also, they ran out of chicken dishes by the time I was served and I was left with fish only. Had I been a vegetarian, this would have been unacceptable."
Nadelen: "We got stuck on the plane for an additional 5 hours before take off because of the smallest amount of snow. Even knowing how much extra time they did not load any extra food on the plane. We finally took off only to be rerouted to Lome instead of Accra which took an additional 2 hours. The whole thing took an extra 7 hours. From 11am to 12:55 pm we were provided only 1 meal and ice cream. The staff were not apologetic at all, they said if we wanted to be mad at someone it should be the weather... They should probably go back to customer service school."

Nadelen: "Impossible to check in online if you have a visa. Avoid at all costs seats in row 15. The first row in coach has 3 seats and be row behind has 4 meaning that you are 4 people sharing 3 screens and seat pockets. No room to put your legs under the seat in front of you because they are not aligned with the seats in front. I fly all the time and have never seen this. I am short and has absolutely no room for myself or even my iPad and headphones. Horrible experience. Never flying with Brussels airlines on a transatlantic again!"

Nadelen: "The connecting flight was an hour late. We set inside the plane all this time while the crew could not decide what to do with luggage of a passenger who never showed up. The luggage was being removed and put back -and repeat several more time of the same- for a bit more than an hour. When we finally took off, there was an unpleasant surprise - we had to purchase our food. I had never had this experience before that we would not be offered food on a connecting flight and obviously was not prepared. Not only there was not food, or even a tiny snack offered, one had to buy mere water. Overall, very disappointed. BTW, our flight was not even on display anywhere at the Brussels airport, wrong gates were shown in our tickets and we almost missed boarding..."
Voordelen: "Crew was polite in spite of their frustrations and ours."
Nadelen: "Power outage at Brussels airport caused a delay (no ones fault), a drunk man was let on the plane, which led to us detouring from taxi to another gate to have police escort him off. This led to extra security checks of hand and checked baggage. They found an extra bag? Which led to extra, extra security checks. Worker fell off the luggage conveyor belt, plane was surrounded by medical staff and an ambulance. We finally took off, 3 hours late. I arrived at St. Petersburg, but my luggage did not. The next day I found out it had been sent to Frankfurt. An absolute disaster, many of the problems could have been prevented by more diligence from the airline."
Voordelen: "Good crew."
Nadelen: "3 hour flight to Athens would have been much better if they at least offered water at no charge!"
Nadelen: "Brusels airlines left and arrived with 40 min delay for a flight that should be only 1:50 hour"
Voordelen: "Overall plesant."
Nadelen: "No snack not even a peanut. Transfer was stressful walk bus more walking customs control and very tight schedule."
Nadelen: "We were flying to Brussels about three weeks after the terrorist attacks at the airport, then home ten days later. So I understood the lines and the extra security. But the last communication I got from them (via United Airlines) said that our flight was leaving at noon on Sunday. Without notifying me, they moved our flight up to 10:15, so we missed it. We were able to get on the same flights the next day."
Voordelen: "I liked the food and the entertainment. From JFK to Brussels there was more legroom than from Brussels to Liberia. The crew members were polite."
Nadelen: "Woul have appreciated it if we didn't have to wait so long to be transferred to our take off location. It's extremely difficult when one has to wait 5 hours for a connecting flight. One tries to nap and it's time to move. One tries to nap and it's time to board the flight."
Voordelen: "At the gate there was a wonderful United Airlines employee (the flight was operated by United Airlines) who made an extra effort to organize me and my husband seats next to each other. The flight was full and we didn't have seat bookings before boarding."
Nadelen: "I didn't like the food which is usually expected on airplanes. Still, there is one quite simple thing that is possible to arrange to improve the quality - fresh bread instead of dry and hard one. Comfort - the airplane had 3-seats rows on sides. I prefer 2-seats rows. I haven't noticed that bigger planes mean automatically cheaper flight tickets. Therefore I definitely choose less crowded plane with more comfort. Entertainment - the TV was touch screen. Modern idea but poor realization. The TV user interface was very hard to manipulate because the extra mouse that had to be brought on right button hardly moved."
Voordelen: "They really had a great range of movies, shows & games. The movies included recent releases & classics, and the some shows were whole seasons which was nice for a long flight. The crew was very nice - I certainly wouldn't have been after the way some of the passengers were treating them. They were accommodating to everyone's needs- bringing the newly vegetarian woman a different meal, picking up the whole curry chicken dinner a child threw across the aisle that the mother would not pick up, drink service was offered several times & so was garbage pick up."
Nadelen: "The boarding process was HORRIBLE. We were delayed due to a poor boarding process & uncooperative passengers who refused to adhere to the security guidelines. (In there defense it was basically going through another security checkpoint which we had all already gone through, but COME ON people!) They were trying get people to check all rolling carry-ons due to limited space while letting people with MUCH bigger bags on to the plane- I could have fit in a lot of those people's carry-ons! The seats were the thinnest I've seen for a long-haul flight & not at all comfortable- impossible to sleep on a 9 hour flight. The headrests were awkward & my husband's was broken. So then we were delayed for our last flight home out of DC. It may not have been the airlines fault entirely but the whole system was screwed up & I have had much better experiences with other airlines for transatlantic flights."
Voordelen: "Pleasant crew"
Nadelen: "The seats in Economy are awkward and uncomfortable due to the odd placement of the head rest. The doors by the overhead wings (emergency doors) were visibly dirty as was my window. It was if they did not bother to clean the aircraft before on arising the flight to Accra. The food was repeated from the outbound flight."
Nadelen: "boarding was later then it should be, also when the boarding starts everything was super slow, and they try to put all people from one plane to one bus ..in the end when was completely crowded and there were a few people that really can't get in because there was no space left, finally they bring another bus for them... Our departure was late and we were half hour later in Warsaw."
Nadelen: "No food, no drink, no newspapers"
Voordelen: "There was a medical emergency two hours into the flight and the flight attendants did a very professional job of handling the situation."
Nadelen: "Boarding was disorganized and after standing in line to board we were told to go to the transfer counter to get another boarding pass. This additional step should have been more clearly communicated to passengers so we could have taken care of it before we stood in the boarding line. We were sitting in the terminal for 90 minutes prior to the flight and never heard an announcement to go to the transfer counter prior to boarding. We already had boarding passes issued when we embarked on our connecting flight from Ljublana to Brussels. I was hammered by surprise with a 90 Euro extra bag fee but did not pay a fee for this extra bag on my trip to Europe from Dulles. This bag was a small athletic bag that was just over the carry on size limit and did not weigh that much because it only had clothing and shoes. Ryan Air pulled a similar stunt on me earlier this year and I've decided never to use Ryan Air ever again. I'm adding Brussels Airlines to my list of airlines never to fly again because of these ridiculous baggage fee policies. Really shortsighted business practice on their part. Lufthansa all the way for me!!!!"

Whatever she was doing she wasn’t helping the cart so I only got my food 20 mins before landing approach. Air pressure was weird too, nice American lady next to me had problems with her ears more than usual."

There is no information in my flight confirmation from Flightnetwork.com, which i purchased on kayak, indiciating that such a fee would be charged. Many other passengers had the same experience."

Customer service phone call also costs a quid a minute. It's almost as if they are proud that they screw you if you encounter any difficulty or you've made a mistake in the complicated boarding pass emailing procedure."

Also not the airlines fault but the pre-boarding area was crowded warm and again not much in the way of any instructions"

Nadelen: "The leg space is poor, and you can't take your seat back anywhere. lucky it's only 3 hours flight."
Voordelen: "It's a ultra low cost carrier so the key is to be prepared. Make sure you purchase the extras (i.e luggage) before you show up to the airport. Our flight was short and I can only recommend for flights less than two hrs. But it was a very pleasant flight and the staff was about as good as any mainline carrier. We departed on time and arrived early."

Nadelen: "Worse, Vueling charge you, on checking, to “choose seats” with no obvious way of not paying for them! I’m sure here was a link somewhere - but could I see it?! Nope! that and my suitcases, and I had paid over €100 extra on top of my initial flight cost. BA or Easyjet next time!"

Voordelen: "10 mn de retard contrôle passager moins stressant si a l aller... un petit couteau multiusage lame de moins de 6cm est passe au controle.."
Voordelen: "La politesse de l équipage, le nombre de langue parlées par l équipage et le commandant de bord (dont le français)"
Nadelen: "Depart prévu à 19h30, décollage à 22h : 1 verre d eau offert pour 2h30 d attente sur le tarmac, peu d informations sur l heure de départ ni sur l aéroport d arrivée, mauvaise organisation de la proposition des repas et boissons servis 30 min avant l atterrissage, assis à l arrière de l avion nous n avons pu ni boire ni manger."
Nadelen: "Avec Vueling on n'est jamais surpris. Le vol est en retard, c'est quasi systématique de mon expérience de 4 ou 5 vols récents avec eux. Cabine ultra étroite. Horaires peu pratiques. C'est du low cost quoi"
