Nadelen: "Traveling is always a challenge - abundance of patience required! We traveled from Dallas, Atlanta, Amsterdam, to Rome & back. Every country had a little different process for boarding and getting around - most had friendly staff, on point, helping clueless, stressed, & frustrated travelers. I was really disappointed in Atlanta, not a very welcoming or helpful spirit for visitors to US - not all (80% were awesome), mainly those trying to greet and direct through customs. Most hate the arrogant America anyway, don’t make it worse - put your best people on the front lines to help with international relations & show why the US is the best. Put those that don’t want to be here loading bags out back! Sorry for the lecture, but this is any business!"

Nadelen: "De onbetrouwbare procedures bij KLM en Schiphol. Kan niet online inchecken bij Delta: KLM operated. Alleen op Schiphol. Daar ook niet bij machine. Naar een loket. Die meneer geeft aan: stop uw koffer in automaat. Die accepteert niet. Had die meneer ook gelijk kunnen zeggen. Volgende loket. Die mevrouw geeft groen Delta label: uw bagage wordt in Atlanta direct doorgezonden naar Kingston. Ik loop dus door in Atlanta. Maar behulpvaardige meneer melde: uw bagage wordt niet doorgezonden. Nooit uit Amsterdam. Wie moet ik dan geloven? Ik toch maar wachten. Blijkt koffer toch van bagage band in Atlanta te komen. Als ik op Delta/KLM info had vertrouwd, was mijn koffer dus pleite geweest, want niet doorgezonden. Geplande tussenstop duur van 2 uur was volgens douane te weinig. Dat klopte. Haalde maar net vlucht Atlanta/Kingston."

Voordelen: "Some "perk" for Diamond status on Delta to get to a shorter security line, but customs and immigration was... customs and immigration."
Nadelen: "No available SkyTeam lounge unless you had a business class ticket. As a Diamond flier, I can always access the SkyTeam lounges. Audio for boarding was a little unclear so there was some confusion at boarding. For reasons unknown, my bag was moved from one overhead bin to another. Very frustrating since I board early to avoid this confusion and hassle."

Voordelen: "I appreciated that Delta was on time and prompt about getting passengers onboard. I appreciated that the stewardess was very courteous. I appreciated that there was no delay."
Nadelen: "There was nothing that I did not like. I had a previous bad experience with another airline that canceled my flight three days in a row. So I was very appreciative of the fact that Delta had available flights for me to leave."

Voordelen: "I had ordered a dairy - free vegetarian meal for the international flight. Initially the attendant brought me a vegetarian meal with cheese, part of the regular meal options, then she found the one with my seat number that was dairy - free. It was quite tasty! And I was grateful, since I would not have been able to eat the meal with dairy. It is not a preference, dairy makes me ill. The delay departing from Brussels caused us to miss our connecting flight to Denver, but our provided hotel accommodations in NY were quite comfortable. One item of note: The LaGuardia staff person, who made our arrangements for the overnight stay, said there was a shuttle from the hotel to JFK ( where our flight was in the morning), so she did not give us a travel voucher for the morning. The Hotel only has a shuttle to LaGuardia; it never has a shuttle to JFK. It seems the staff person should have known that. When we called Delta to ask how we should handle that, Delta kindly offered us reimbursement; it was just a phone call and a mailing for us and for Delta that was extraneous. Our interaction with the staff person was entirely pleasant, we were just surprised that there was misinformation."

Generally, i feel i should be offered boarding before all the masses who try to carry on bags that are too large and need to be gate-checked....they clog up the ramp and aisles once on the plane (this is a general complaint that is not directed at Delta specifically...applies to all airlines)"

Voordelen: "My wife and I ran from our connection all the way from one end to the other and the crew could tell. They said after I stow my carry ons to corn to the back and get a drink and use the bathroom to cool down as we were just about to take off to taxi to the runway. The crew was absolutely great and the I. Flight entertainment and food was great. We just wish our luggage had made it back too. We are still waiting to see where our luggage is - if in Europe still or Dallas."
Nadelen: "I would say that other passengers had their kids behind us and they kept screaming and kicking our chairs. We told the woman to tell her kids to stop but all she said was “they are a child” when all they needed to do was just tell their kid to stop. Flight attendants saw and knew but I don’t know what they could do to help when they can’t help with bad parenting. I wish there was a clear way to upgrade to first class on a trip as it was difficult to find out how."

Nadelen: "Retard de l'avion ( 3-4 vols différents). Perte de mes bagages qui à entraîner un déplacement pour rien à l'étranger pour le travail vu que je n'avais pas le matériel de travail avec moi. Nous faire monter dans l'avion, rouler sur le tarmac, après 30 min de prise de retard sur le départ, nous annoncer qu'on retourner à l'aéroport et qu'il fallait changer d'avion pour problèmes techniques. Pour nous annuler complètement Le vol! Nous faire descendre de l'avion, devoir aller se trouver un autre vol, aller recuperer la valise, retourner l'enregistrer, et retourner à la sécurité tous ça avec une amabilité digne de la froideur allemande! Auncuns repas ou autre bois a été offert au moin pour s'excuser. Après avoir eu tous ces problèmes avec la même compagnie j'ai contacter à plusieurs reprises le service client qui m'a raccrocher au nez! On m'a dit qu'on me remboursait Le vol. Je n'ai jamais eu de nouvelles."

Voordelen: "My first time flying with Lufthansa was outstanding. Great service, super friendly and ready to please. Appreciated the free adult beverages and frequent availability of water during the long, dehydrating flight. In-flight movies were fun to pass the time."
Nadelen: "Disembarked the plane in a lot and had to shuttle back to the terminal. Not a big issue but much prefer disembarking at the terminal."

The poor performance was aggravated by having the controls mounted on top of the armrests resulting in no place to rest one's arms without disturbing the entertainment system. The seats in regular economy were too small for a 10 hour flight. I am an average to small size person and had no room to get comfortable."

Nadelen: "There were screaming ( not just crying...but SCREAMING at a shrill pitch) for the entire 10 hour flight. I was never so ready to get off of a plane in my life. The staff tried to appease the many different situations as best they could, but they got wore out before the end of the the flight. There were people not sitting in their assigned seats, so mealtime was totally boggled and some got fed a full hour before the rest us is on the tail end of the serving. The last meal ( after I FINALLY got food, we had turbulence, so they stopped serving drinks to go with the meal, and no one ever came back and continued where they left off, so I ate my meal without a drink. I don't blame the airline because it was the many children in that section that made it absolutely miserable for everyone on board, but it was the worst flight I have ever taken...hands down."

Nadelen: "Frankfurt airport: Had to walk for an hour to get from gate to gate. I was getting off an international flight and onto another international flight. International gates are usually closer than that. On the flight: 1. The armrests pull up, which is great if you're traveling with family or a significant other. But, in my case, it was an overweight and obese lady, who didn't fit in her seat and just slipped into half of mine. I was stuck with half a seat with her arm bumping mine for a 12-hour flight. I landed with a bruised arm. It was a round trip flight. When I had submitted a complaint, Lufthansa refunded me a 100$, which is nice of them, but I think they should have upgraded me for my return flight instead to make up for the first flight being uncomfortable. 2. I paid for the internet service and was charged double for it. Again, had to submit a complaint and was refunded the money. Check-in: The online system wouldn't allow me to check in online because my passport wasn't biometric."

Nadelen: "On the long haul flight the seats started to hurt after a few hours. The seats on the short haul flight felt more comfortable."

Nadelen: "Flight got canceled, everything was slow."

Voordelen: "So much continent flight with online check - in. I have to stayed over night at the hotel in Frankfurt and all my lagged come from Barcelona to the end of my destination. On my flight had one passenger got sick before boarding, the crew had responded very quick to support his life. And great entertainment."

Voordelen: "Crew was very good. Pilots, definitely, were high level professionals."

Nadelen: "They changed my seat at the last minute!!!! Small spaces, I told to the assistants and they did't help me at all, worst fly ever!!!!!"

Il me semble totalement illogique de me faire dire qu'il n'y a plus de place pour moi dans l'avion alors que j'ai le billet en main et qu'il a été payé. Comment une compagnie peut-elle accepter mon paiement alors qu'elle n'est pas en mesure de garantir le service pour lequel elle a été payée? Selon cette philosophie, il faudrait peut-être payer nos billets d'avion une fois RENDUS à destination? Beaucoup de stress inutile et une mauvaise opinion de la compagnie aérienne..."

Nadelen: "The boarding area was total chaos. In order to get to the gate I had to literally fight with the 100s of people who were waiting in the same area. No priority was given to family with children or elite members. Even when we complaint at the personnel we were told that “it was busy”. Usually KLM flight from Venice depart from the first floor where gates are bigger and you get straight with the finger to the airplane. Today it hasn’t been the case .... too poor service for a KLM fight"

Nadelen: "Crowded seating, 20-year old video system, headphones that did not match the two-jack system, lackluster service in flight. Generally my experience with KLM has been good, but this was well below average."

Voordelen: "Only thing we liked was the fact that we were able to get onto our flight at all..."
Nadelen: "Was not informed that checking in online is the only way to secure a seat. So, regardless of whether you book your tickets 3 months in advance or the day before, you're not actually guaranteed a seat unless you check in online. We weren't told this until we were at the airport and checked in there that we might not be able to get our pre-booked in advance flight because of over-booking from KLM. We then had to wait and see if there were seats available when boarding. Luckily, there were, but we were not sat together. Not the greatest start to our first holiday together as a couple. We were told that if there weren't seats available, they'd pay for us to get to another airport to fly out, which would have meant a huge delay on the only time off we'd get together this year and have to rearrange our pre-booked and pre-paid living arrangements for the week. All because there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the need to check in online before hand. You'd think if someone checked in at the airport, that would be more of a guarantee that they'd be flying with you that day, but apparently not. Definitely not impressed or happy with this part of the KLM experience. This is the only company that we've had this problem with, they should make it clearer that it is essential to check in online."

The ergonomy concept is faulty in several ways: the plug for the headphone is in the inside of the armrest, the flimsy remote control is also hidden there and your thigh is covering it. The screen is horrible. Movie selection is very limited."

Nadelen: "The plane didn't leave OMA gate for over an hour. A repair needed to be made, and there was a huge long delay in getting a hold of maintenance to fix it. Then there were problems with the fix. Once it was finally fixed, the paperwork had a mess up. We didn't leave until at least 2:52 pm. Then, when we landed, the elevator for the luggage that was valeted stopped working for 4 minutes. I was nearly late to my connection to Paris. Instead of a 1 hr 55 min layover in DFW, I had 7 minutes from the time I finally got my suitcase to the time I got to the other terminal to board."

Voordelen: "I was prepared with my smart phone and iPad and external batteries, turns out I needed none of those things! What a pleasant surprise for the in flight movies, music and tv to be perfect. I didn't even have to use my external battery on the flight because there is a perfect USB port in the screen in front of you. The food was as good as airplane good gets, the plane incredibly comfortable and staff was attentive. I don't love the long flights but this BA flight is now my go to anytime Im headed to Europe."

Nadelen: "Bought British Air tickets, got their partner airline American Air flight instead and didn't know of this switch until after purchase. Very rude! Crappy old plane, departed late, crappy food, mediocre service. I wanted British Air specifically as they are good in these areas."

Voordelen: "Because the flight was about half full between Madrid and Dallas (a rather long flight!) and because my sweetheart and I were seated in the middle 5 seats alone, we were able to put the arm rests up and get some real sleep to acclimate to West Coast time (our final destination). I can never sleep very well sitting up. Also, the food and entertainment were pretty good. We were given two main meals and a few snacks in between, including chocolate ice cream, which I've never received on a plane before. All that in addition to the decent selection of recent movies available made for a relatively pleasant red eye flight."
Nadelen: "The entertainment system on the back of the seat was clearly outdated and the screens were not very reliable. While watching a movie, if the captain made an announcement, it was made in the headsets, too, as usual, but uncomfortably loud."

Voordelen: "Location in the aircraft"

Nadelen: "This flight was meant to fly out of Brussels, literally twenty-four hours after the attacks on Brussels Airport. As soon as I saw what had happened, I called British Airways at 9am to attempt to move my flight to a different airport, as my connection back to LAX was out of Heathrow. Fortunately, I was in Ghent, not Brussels. So I spent two hours (at 20 cents a minute) trying to get someone to re-route my flight. It was very difficult to even get a call through, as you can imagine. This is pretty much verbatim of my frustrating exchange: BA: We aren't showing the airport as closed tomorrow, so we can't help you. Me: The International departure lounge is rubble - I don't think my flight will happen. BA: You should still plan on it. Me: I'm in Ghent. What you're suggesting is, that I get myself somehow to a city on lockdown, with no train service, no Eurostar, no metro or bus service. Plus it is clearly unsafe - another bomb went off on the metro. You're telling me that I need to go there? BA: Yes. Me: As one human to another, you are seriously suggesting that I go someplace unsafe because you won't reroute me. BA: Yes. At 6pm, they went ahead and let me know the flight was cancelled. The airport was closed for three days in the end. There is very little chance that I would have made my London connection if I'd waited for them to do their job. Needless to say, I'm never flying with these people again. I got myself to Heathrow via taxi/ferry/train. I ate the cost of the flight. I won't even go into how we were locked on our incoming flight for 45 minutes because they couldn't figure out how to open the doors."

Voordelen: "The flight attendants were generous and helpful. I like that there was lots of water served, and lots of extra snacks and more water at the back of the plane for those who needed it."
Nadelen: "The light controlled by the switch at my chair illuminated the seat of my neighbor, due to a mis-alignment that the stewardess was unable to correct. The light switch of my neighbor also illuminated her seat, which meant that she had two lights to read by, even though she wanted to sleep, and I had no lights to read by, even though I had a lot of important work I was hoping to get done on the flight. The stewardess suggested that I switch from the aisle to the center seat (occupied by my neighbor's husband), but I did not want to switch seats like that because the seating was 5-across in the center and I didn't want to have to climb over two people unrelated to me every time I needed to use the bathroom. There was a sparse selection of movies, but it included a few I hadn't already seen, which helped the time pass - much better than my flight from ORD to CDG where the plane didn't even have personal entertainment systems and the common system only played TV shows."

Nadelen: "Machine was defect in Dallas. Ground crew must know how long it takes to get new plane. But official delay kept increasing every half hour."

Nadelen: "Upon boarding the plane, the passengers on this "non-stop" flight were informed by crew members that because the plane was so small and old, a fuel stop in buffalo would be needed before reaching our destination in Philadelphia. Much conflicting information was again passed by the crew on how much time would be needed at this extra stop. We all were beyond angry and frustrated. Many passengers were then scared because some thought the plane was unsafe. Then the head of the crew began getting angry and pointedly asked a women who was afraid "do you want off this plane then?", in a very sarcastic tone. We paid for a non-stop flight. The crew said that this happens with this flight all the time and has been going on for 10 years. Why in the world is this plane stills being used on trans-Atlantic flights?! This is unacceptable on all levels. The captain said that 80% of the passengers had connecting flights. Schedules were ruined. All passengers should receive some sort of refund."

Voordelen: "very little if anything - crew was 'business friendly', and the pilot was truly sorry because of delay in Fort Worth"
Nadelen: "from san francisco to fort worth on my way to paris - i paid for extra leg space and what happened is that American allowed passengers to take with in the cabin such big items that I did not find space for my little bag. stewards simply said - there is no space - no effort to help. so i placed the bag in front of my legs and was sitting with my legs distorted. so much about extra space. from fort worth to paris - AA is selling now exit seats for extra money - i paid ca. $170 to have more comfort but never was sitting in such a uncomfortable seat. it might be that exit seats are constructed a bit differently. there was delay of around 2 hours in Fort Worth and they pulled us into their problems - so that we feel like part of their family but as i stayed one night in paris in an expensive hotel they basically took my 2 hours to make extra profit. they announced after one hour waiting that the plain is landing, now it will be cleaned then as always there are some problems for testing etc. when we continued flight we definitely needed to be happy that we will probably survive the flight because everything is tested. i mean it is better waiting for 2 extra hours than being dead. however the pilot was genuinely sorry for the delay. there was no cosmetics bag with small items like a toothpaste etc. entertainment: screen is so small - i did not bother to watch anything. i am flying British Airways on my way back and looking forward to it. compared to American Airlines British Airways comes as space shuttle. I always used British Airways and was satisfied. I did not notice that American flies from US and next time I will be more cautious. One can notice - with American it is all just about the profit. However I was satisfied while flying in US. So would not recommend American for international flights - rather domestic."

Nadelen: "I couldn't believe how many classes came before 1st class. By the time I boarded a flight I had booked over 3 months ago, I had to check in my tiny handbag while business class got walk on board with two big rolling bags wach. The crew wasn't very nice. The seating area is the most compact i've ever sat in. The meals were all sugar and carbs."

Nous avons perdu une journée de travail mon époux et moi-meme. Lui a du annuler une formation impliquant 10 personnes qui venait de toute la France."

En plus de toute la fatigue de passe une nuit dans des conditions très difficile, j'ai payer une pénalité de près de 700 dollars USA pour un autre billet plus d'autres frais divers en nourriture et en communication. Le plus difficile pour moi est que votre personnel a New York était insensible a mes problèmes."
