Aisle next to me is so small."

Nadelen: "They cancelled our flight without informing us from Doha to Miami, so they were going to fly us to Doha at 3 a.m., take us to hotel, and then have us fly the next day. This was the third time this airlines cancelled a flight on us for the same trip. The first two times were traveling from Miami to Delhi, we had to change our itinerary because they cancelled the flight, and we had to fly on different dates. This caused a series of hotel changes and cancellations costing us a lot of money. On the flight that we finally got from Doha to JFK, the man sitting next to me SMELLED LIFE THE FUNK OF 40,000 YEARS. It is unbearable. Thirteen hours of pungent body odor that even the flight attendants acknowledged was horrific. It was a miserable experience flying with this airline for what was to be the trip of a lifetime."

All of a sudden fifteen minutes after the flight got to the gate, passengers were allowed to exit through the back door of the flight. Chair was stuck and wouldn't recline. Handle to the chair was also stuck. Plane was not clean. Handle rest and book pouch were sticky. Restrooms were not clean. They ran out of toilet paper in about 3 hours on a 12.5 hour flight. Flight was not equipped with Toilet seat covers Fruit platter was a big joke. It consisted of 2 small quarter slices of pineapple, papaya and orange respectively with a single small green grape to enhance the look of the platter. Whatever happened to serving an apple or banana. Besides, the fruits were either too raw, too sweaty, too warm or too overripe. First time experiencing a warm plate of fruits. By far this serving is not a full fruit platter, and nor can it be a substitute for a meal. Fruit as a meal should not be served as fruit on the side. Serving size has to be larger considering that is the full meal. When asked for water, the stewardess serving my row of passengers came with the reply, "I just gave you one a few minutes ago." Please understand there could be more reason for asking for water which is usually served half full in a 4 ounce disposable cup."

Nadelen: "Emirates has applied EasyJet seat ramming techniques to its A380 business Class product. As a result even the spacious upper deck of an A380 feels cramped. The seat width in business Class is the same as economy so lying on your side to sleep is an impossibility for all but the diminutive or children. It’s hard to justify 4-5 times the economy fare to sit in such cramped ‘pile em high, sell em cheap’ seats. Breakfast served just before landing at LGW was honestly the most revolting meal I’ve ever been served onboard an aircraft, and I’ve flown Monarch. Less scrambled egg than puréed egg slops with gristly undercooked chicken sausages. Ryanair would blush at serving up such lousy fare. Emirates are paring back the ‘overheads’ in business Class and its starting to show. Cheapening the product (in every sense) might work for some but if I’m going to stump up thousands I think I’ll choose an airline that treats me less like self loading cargo in future."

Voordelen: "The AirBus A380 plane is amazing! Really great movie options too - almost too much choice."
Nadelen: "They randomly chose us to conduct a carryon bag search, which is fine. But they also randomly chose 100 other passengers and there wasn't enough information or staff to do this random check efficiently. Hence, we were more than an hour delayed."

Voordelen: "Everything was very nice,, one of the nicer flights i have had in a long time and i fly often,, it didnt hurt that the flight was nearly empty,, so i had basically the whole section in the back to myself,, aside from that, the seating was comfortable and more roomy than others,, and the entertainment system was quite nice,, good sound,, larger hd screen and wide selection of programming,, also very convenient inputs for powering up"
Nadelen: "the bathroom smelled like pee and i was the first one to use it on the flight,, so perhaps some better cleaning maintenance and some type of air freshener"

The crew were friendly, but still couldn't arrange preferred seating because it was during the holiday season. I know this is the section for good comments, but I am very disappointed about the demeanor and the service provided this time."
Nadelen: "I have called in advance and selected the seats for both inbound and outbound flights. Also, confirmed a wheelchair access. To my surprise, none of them were met according to the commitment. The seats were not the ones that were asked for. I mentioned that there was a medical condition with the leg and my mom would have to get up and move during the flight, but still they allocated seats which are extremely inconvenient to both us and the fellow passengers. We expect better from Emirates!!! I hope they can improve this in the future!"

Voordelen: "Trip from Istanbul was On Time. As a Disabled Person, I was picked up at the baggage ticket counter and expedited through. It was excellent service in Istanbul for me. The plane experience was smooth, with wonderful entertainment on your personal screen with excellent movie, news and music offerings. The crew was wonderful, friendly, smiling and accommodating. No charge on alcoholic drinks! Food was great. Flight was good. At Houston, the assistants for Disabled Persons was wonderful, accompanying me up until I was dropped at Shuttle service to my car. Turkish airlines really impressed me and would use them anytime."
Nadelen: "In Istanbul, I had to walk from the gate entrance to the plane. Took me 10 minutes to walk the plank, struggling, but no one offered me a wheelchair or assistance. In Istanbul, there was a considerable amount of people waiting to check bags but there were no agents at 2 counters and it really bothered the people waiting and waiting for them to show up. Then the baggage loading track stopped and it stopped all the traffic for a while. Inconveniences but, nevertheless, it affected the travelers anxiety."

The flight from JFK got delayed and for unknown reason when arriving to the gate in Istanbul my seat was given to other passengers - though I came to the gate before the boarding was closed. I have never in my life received such a poor service. I was lied/misled/attacked by Turkish airline employees in the gate and in the transfer desk. I would never recommend taking Turkish airlines to anyone"

Voordelen: "This is a government run airline with very poor customer service. I flew 6 flights in December, 2016 in business class - out of which 5 flights were late. There was no help at the transfer desk in Istanbul to get onto another flight as my connecting flight was missed because the original outbound flight was late. The customer service staff both at the lounge and the transfer desk were inept and rude and did not want to help. I shudder to think how economy passengers are treated."
Nadelen: "1) No organized boarding process - there is a general melee at the boarding gate with a lot of shoving and pushing. 2) Customer service staff are rude, incompetent and unhelpful 3) No recognition that customers are to be served 4) Food selection in business class was mediocre and poor 5) Old aircraft - on flight from Istanbul to London, business class was 3 abreast with the middle seat being used as a tray table. 6) Sleeper class is mediocre - seat width is poor and one cannot even turn on the side"

Access to the lounge was given finally after I produced my physical Gold card even though I gave them my UA number. There are no ticketing agents in the Istanbul Airport within the secured area. I was not comfortable going outside security and then back again through security to upgrade my ticket. Agents at Turkish Airlines CIP NOT helpful."

There was nothing I could do about this but bite the bullet & accept what I got since I was not allowed to have any corrections made after paying for this ticket. I am highly disappointed with Kayak. The first time you have disappointed me greatly!"

Nadelen: "In Delhi the flight was canceled due to a technical issue. Staff did not try to book us on another flight and they could not communicate when we would leave. They just told us we had to go to the hotel. After waiting approximately 8 hours in the airport, it took an hour to go back through immigration, another hour to get our luggage, another hour to get on buses, then 45 minutes to the hotel. Once there, the hotel was not prepared for us. The buffet was out of food and couldn't make more because they had to prepare for dinner. It took another hour just to check into the room and I couldn't get the Internet for the first two hours. The day was full of standing in lines being herded like cattle from one place to another with no information. I called Turkish airlines to try to find out when the flight was rescheduled but no one could tell me anything. At 11 at night the hotel told me to come down and get on the bus. I told them it would take 10 minutes to repackage my things, and they said that was too long. I rushed and got on the bus and then sat on the bus for an hour before it left for the airport. Then I was late for the flight, I had to cut in front of people inthe security line and run through the airport. Once at the gate, they hadn't even started to board, and once we were aboard, we sat on the plane for over an hour before taking off. My original layover was 3 hours but now it's 7 hours. Turkish Airlines never apologized or were able to communicate anything accurately. I paid extra money for this ticket however it set me back in time and I'm so exhausted It will take me much longer to recover. I will never fly Turkish airlines again."

When anyone passed in the aisle, I had to almost stand up. for a 12 hour flight, that was very annoying."

Allowed passengers to get up, collect thier bags from overhead compartments immediately after landing and during taxi. Clogged asiles. Poor air con during flight. Extremely cramped seating. Low budget and lax attitude. Consistently late flights On a positive note, direct nonstop flights to major destinations at good rates. You get what you pay for though."
Voordelen: "Impossible to enjoy a flight you didn't choose and were forced to fly on due to a schedule change, especially when the flights you'd booked had much better timing for a fixed teacher's holiday schedule. Avoid Oman Air unless you are sadistic and enjoy forced flight changes and no compensation. As I was forced to change to a flight to one arriving at 03.10 with my work starting at 06.00, I tried (and failed due to a lack of space and fidgety neighbour) to sleep all the flight to be fresh and professional for my work. The booked flight which was forcibly cancelled got me home 9pm the night before work. Oman Air refused a suggestion to upgrade me to business class so I could try and sleep."
Nadelen: "I am a teacher. I can't choose my holiday times. I get three fixed weeks in summer. In both 2017 + 2018 Oman Air changed their schedule forcing me to change my flights. I was out of pocket for a small amount - they refused to pay the $27.60. I was to arrive home at 9pm for an 06.00 start to work they changed my flight so I arrived at 04.00. I asked for an upgrade to business class to try and sleep. They ignored the request. They instead sent me a copy of the small print saying that they were allowed to change anyone's flights and give zero compensation if the 'client' is informed two weeks in advance. I will avoid Oman Air from now on, even if they seem to offer the best times to fly."

Nadelen: "In Oman airs home airport there was no service desk. When the flight was delayed the sent 1 agent do deal with a full glitch’s worth of guests. Even though the delay was over 6 hours they gave no compensation besides lounge access to a lounge that is not fully functional. The next morning (yes the delay was overnight and they didn’t provide a hotel room) they called us all to the gate only to tell us they still were waiting for the plane to be repaired (the night before they’d Told us the flight would be in time as they’d flown another plane in). Again there was only one Oman air agent and just normal airport staff to handle the full flight. People were yelling and there was a lot of anger but no official announcements were ever made and only rumors passed from those who actually had a chance to talk to the on me guy. Finally when i arrived in Bangkok it seemed like they had there act together as there were many agents on the gangway to assist people to find connecting flights. Being so late there was only on flight for me and several others trying to get to Phuket. An agent took us to immigration and told us all he’d meet us in the other side to take us to the check in. HE DIDN’T SHOW UP. We couldn’t go back in the airport to find him or anyone from Oman air and were left to find an airport employee who graciously helped us find the booking office and just make the flight. I fly internationally regularly and this was by far the worst airline experience I’ve ever had or even heard about."

Also no direct connection to terminal, planes park out on tarmac and take people on 1 km bus ride to connect to terminal. Legroom was pretty tight but not horrid Crew making announcements on landing were unprofessional, heard co-pilot or steward laughing in the background - while captain droned on in Arabic - this does not engender confidence in their ability to fly the plane!"

It was embarrassing as we had brought luggage as per tickets issued. IF THE AGENT APPOINTED BY OMAN AIR HAD ISSUED A WRONG TICKET, IT IS THE PRINCIPAL WHO IS RESPONSIBLE WHICH IN THIS CASE IS OMAN AIR. IT WAS A BAD EXPERIENCE AND OMAN AIR HAS TO COMPENSATE. The entertainment screens did not work for quite some time."

We arrived in Oman and many missed our flights by only minutes to find ourselves stuck from 8 am to 2 am the next day as only 2 flights a day are offered. They never thought to hold the flights to await our arrival. A hotel was supplied but it charged for internet(we were told by the airlines it was free) had very good meals but NO tea or coffee in the rooms or offered after breakfast without a charge. The airline said we could sleep until midnight and then a shuttle would return us for the 2 am and 2:45 am flights but the hotel insisted on us going at 10pm . driver wanted off was all we thought. Second flight was an older plane ,terrible meal and no individual movie or tv systems ."

They need to treat the cargo a little less rough."

Nadelen: "I booked a flight on Oman Air from Dubai to Jaipur, India. I expected a comfortable and safe experience and instead was subjected to increasingly more stressful behavior on behalf of Oman Air and its employees. I arranged a tourist visa to India prior to my departure from the U.S. and had not only checked in successfully at the gate in Dubai, but had cleared customs and security at the airport when I was accosted by an employee at the gate. Having no mind for discretion, this employee announced loudly to everyone at large that I was not going to be allowed onto my flight. He explained that my visa was incorrect (a visa issued by the Indian government...) and insisted I follow him out of the terminal and back to the check in desk to PURCHASE myself another flight. When I quietly but firmly held my ground, I was put on the phone by the supervisor who told me in no uncertain terms that I was completely incorrect, my visa was not valid and I would need to purchase alternate and last minute (expensive) flights immediately. When asked why my visa was allegedly invalid, the supervisor responded that I was flying into an unauthorized port of entry in India and would be DEPORTED IMMEDIATELY upon my arrival into Jaipur. I would ONLY be allowed in through New Delhi. Thank goodness I had the presence of mind to contact my family back in the states and pull up the Indian government website where I showed the employee and told the supervisor that Jaipur was in fact a valid point of entry for the visa. Both objected and insisted I comply immediately by leaving and purchasing another ticket. I had my family contact the Indian government who then had to place a call THEMSELVES to Oman Air to inform them that OMAN AIR in fact, was incorrect and that my visa was of course, valid. Had I not taken these steps and held my ground, I would've been unwittingly following INCORRECT advice and incurred more expense for THEIR MISTAKE. This was inexcusable behavior. Oman Air is liable for their actions and the information they tried to force on me in the most inappropriate and public manner. I will never again fly with this company or recommend it to my loved ones. What an absolutely stressful waste of time. And to top it all off, the window seats I had carefully selected ahead of time were revoked, my ticket rendered useless until the employee went back to the check in counter to reissue them (after I wasted another hour at the gate waiting instead of enjoying the terminal). Thank goodness I was so early for my flight or I would've missed it thanks to them. I was never offered an apology nor did the airline take the initiative to correct its mistake. Instead, yet again, I had to seek out a gate agent once I had landed in Muscat to undo the mess Oman Air created of its own volition. Take the time to do your research please and stop holding passengers liable for your inadequacies."
Voordelen: "Great value for the first leg of an open jaw AUH-MCT-DXB trip. Priced about the same as a return trip - the only airline to allow me to fly this route (multiple airlines at high one-way fares to split into AUH-MCT and MCT-DXB otherwise)."
Nadelen: "Older Boeing 737-700 aircraft used on this flight (the only one in their fleet) with limited leg room (subsequent MCT-DXB flight on an E175 was great though - new plane, great legroom). Bus gates at Muscat (although a new terminal is being built)."
