Nadelen: "While waiting for the flight, I whined on FB about our probable delay, and a friend responded with "I'm guessing that you're crammed at the end of that terminal hallway with about 10 other gates of people with no airplanes, no information, and 2 AC employees." Spot on. Apparently such delays, understaffed gates, and failures to communicate with passengers are par for the course. Friend even predicted the free bagels AC would eventually offer at the restaurant that closed 3 hours before our flight finally left. He didn't predict the multiple announcements about assorted other flights not having functional restrooms so please pee before boarding."
Nadelen: "Flight was delayed multiple times. Flight was scheduled to take off at 1210 pm, delayed to 1510, delayed again to 1700 then delayed to 2110 and hen finally boarded at 2230 but the flight did not take off for an additional 2 hours making the total flight delay 12+ hours. My mom did not speak English and the staff at the boarding gate would not provide her a translator nor where they willing to talk to us over the phone to assist her. I understand that delays happen but the lack of assistance and multiple delays was alarming (with clear weather). Air Canada device over the phone was unprofessional as well when I called to discuss the lack of assistance we received."
Nadelen: "Oncomfortabele stoelen, Inflight entertainment werkte slecht"
Voordelen: "I did not enjoy my first experience with Air Canada Rouge. everything seemed last minute."
Nadelen: "I didn't like that their counter doesn't open until 2 hours before the flight, even international. small plane and it was delayed both ways. Never again"

Nadelen: "I received a boarding pass in AMD for all my flights, when at the gate in paris the agent said we have to give you a new boarding pass and seat. I had window prior, now it was the MIDDLE SEAT!!!! They said they couldnt do anything about it because Air India changed it and they couldnt do anything about it. Especially since the flight was also full. Not Air Canada's fault, but the expererince of middle seat is TERRIBLE."
Voordelen: "I thought the crew was awesome. Very friendly, but the bathrooms definitely needed to be taken care of. SO dirty."
Nadelen: "TV wasn't working at all which made for a very long flight! Food selection ran out. I felt like the plane was old and outdated."
Nadelen: "Air Canada stopped flying to SLC while we we're on our trip. so it made the connections to other flights after getting to Toronto (from Amsterdam) really tricky and tight on time. While on the flight from Amsterdam, things were great, but that stress of being rerouted was not great..."
Voordelen: "On time. Comfortable plane"
Nadelen: "Extra security and customs checks changing planes in Canada"
Nadelen: "The movie selection was limited. The stewardess were not very friendly and were hard to hear,"
Nadelen: "Twice now Air Canada has changed flight itineraries into SLC, this time by one day, making a 26 hour layover in Toronto and another time a 48 hour layover by changing the flight by two days."
Nadelen: "Numerous people had oversize carry on luggage that should have been checked. The passengers like me had smaller than regulation carry on but there did not seem to be room in the overhead compartments."
Voordelen: "The entertainment"
Nadelen: "Having to pay to have a bit of extra comfor while traveling with a 14 months old"
Voordelen: "The crew was friendly"
Nadelen: "Seats are extremely small and cramped. Temperature was too cold during the flight and there wasn't even a fan on so it was the cabin temperature which couldn't be adjusted. In addition No blankets or cushions were provided. The leg room was horrible. I'm only 5'5" and I felt cramped, so I can't imagine how it would feel for someone taller. also, no one checked bags due to the newly imposed fee so everyone crammed their luggage into the overhead compartments and many of us had no room to store our carry-ons and had to put it below our seats, causing even less leg room. the Hawaiian airport also locked out the waiting area for international flights back to Vancouver due to some policy that the area must be locked down until the plane has arrived and everyone is off the plane. Many of us were sitting on the ground outside in the non-air conditioned hallway in front of the stores like homeless people for over 2 hours. Luckily seniors were sitting on wheelchairs and did not have to wait while standing or sitting on the ground. They finally let us in 20 minutes before boarding but really by then it made no difference."
Nadelen: "Flight was late from Barcelona to Mintreal by an hour. I needed a wheelchair - didn't show up! Then pulled a muscle trying to get through customs and they barely held my flight to Chicago. Made it, with No Help. Late into Chicago and still no wheelchair. There was no one from whom to get help. Finally a United Airlines employee took pity on me and got a wheelchair to me and got me to the flight - again, just barely. Over 20 hours in the air, no assistance and poor food. I will never fly air canada again - ever. Not worth the savings. I've spent an entire week recovering and spent the savings on physical therapy due to the damage to my legs."
Voordelen: "Plane left on time, smooth flight, arrived on schedule."
Nadelen: "1. Food very substandard. Hot food not very well prepared and rather tasteless, and snack was like a cardboard wrap with some salsa sauce in it. A disgrace to a major airline like Air Canada. Selection of drinks very limited. 2, Staff persisted in speaking mostly French, on an international flight. Some announcements were made only in French. As a Canadian, I can follow French, but let us remember that English is the international language. To use French is not fair to other nationalities, who expect English. 3. Seats far too close together for a long flight. There was more legroom on the Jazz flight from Montreal to Ottawa! 4. Entertainment kept breaking down. Headphones for my wife did not work, and eventually both of our screens went dead. Her's quit right in the middle of a movie. Bad!! 5. Boarding passes had zones on them, but these were totally disregarded in boarding. This resulted on overcrowding, long waits, etc. Hard on older people!"

Nadelen: "A lot of families with kids, dirty lavatory due to low passenger profile. Rude flight attendant while having seated before take off. Dirty Boarding area. Poor food quality."

Nadelen: "I couldn't change my seat. I was stuck in the middle seat."
Voordelen: "The person next to me was moved...so I had the whole row to myself. It was comfortable!"
Nadelen: "No food was served other than snacks for purchase."
Voordelen: "Leg room on a wide bodied airplane and movie equipment working well. Stewards were by more than once offering food or refreshment."

Nadelen: "The price was higher than Delta direct flight but I chose AC because of my top tier status on AC. That got me a complimentary upgrade but the entertainment system did not work"
Voordelen: "Seating was fine on their "normal" flights."
Nadelen: "Regarding Air Canada Rouge service: If you are over 6' in height your knees will not fit in the assigned space."
Nadelen: "The fight had intercom problems and that delayed us for 5+ hours with no decision as to the resolution. We finally got home at 4 AM ...."
Nadelen: "My boyfriend and I were flying from Toronto to Salt Lake City, we didn't pay for assigned seating (because who really wants to dish out extra money for something as silly as that?) and thought that it just meant that we still had seats on the plane and they just might not be next to each other which was fine. We did online check in and having our tickets sent to our phones (his worked fine and mine never came through, yes, we triple checked to make sure my phone number and everything was correct). Both of our tickets ended up saying the seat was GTE so when we got to the terminal (two hours early) the moment an employee was behind the counter we went up to talk to them and they said that we would get a seat on the flight and that it wouldn't be a problem at all for us to sit together. Right before they start boarding an announcement is made that the flight was overbooked (by 8 people!) and they were asking if anyone would be willing to give up their seat and receive compensation (no one would). So, all 8 of us had to go up to the same snarky man who had told us that we WOULD be getting seats and have him explain to us that the next flight isn't until tomorrow and we had to go to the Air Canada customer service desk to get the flight plan figured out. We had to wait 2 hours in line just to talk to someone who tried to make Air Canada out to be the victims (how dare we not want to pay $40 for a seat and because of our frugality poor Air Canada now has to compensate us for the inconvenience AND get us new plane tickets, we should feel so bad for them because they are now losing money). We had to wait for about 40 minutes with this lady because she was either new or not competent enough to figure out how to get us new tickets with Delta (guess why Delta? because Air Canada had already overbooked the flight out for the next day too! Looks like they'll be losing some more money). Oh yeah, she also scolded my boyfriend for having his plane ticket on his phone, because it inconvienenced her. That lady finally left and we finally got help from someone who actually knows what decent customer service is (shout out to Michelle Khan at Air Canada). She was really nice and understanding and was actually able to go through the process of getting us tickets and in a timely manner. She explained that while it is a complete joke, by law flights are allowed to overbook their flights by up to 10% of seats available on the flight. We could understand overbooking by a couple, but really, 8? Never fly with Air Canada."
Nadelen: "Being stranded in Toronto for 24 hours with Air Canada unwilling to rebook us on other carriers to get us home sooner. Given our prediction of the missed connection and request for rebooking before our first leg of travel, it was particularly irritating that they would not help us get home the most efficient way."
Voordelen: "Staff was friendly"
Nadelen: "Food, seating and entertainment was poor overall. No tvs/ entertainment of any sort"
Nadelen: "Put on stand-by because flight oversold. No notice. Finally got on at the last moment. Our bags did not arrive."
Voordelen: "The crew were nice. I like the type of plane. It arrived basically on time, with my luggage."
Nadelen: "First, I despise Air Canada's new policy of charging $25 per segment per passenger to get a seat assignment - any seat assignment. This isn't a surcharge for more leg room, or to move to business class - it is for the ability to pick seats at all. That means that if I want to sit next to my spouse on a simple direct flight, the cost is $100 round trip ($25 x 4)! For that much money, we should not only be seated together, we should be seated together at a very nice restaurant (which is exactly where we spent the $100 that we refused to spend on seat assignments). Second, my particular seat wasn't clean. Someone had been sick, and it wasn't completely cleaned up. Maybe getting a clean seat is an additional surcharge? The nice stewardess helped me and with some sanitizing hand wipes we were able to get rid of the remnants stuck on my tray and the wall of the aircraft (of course, since I didn't pay for a seat assignment, I ended up in a last row window seat in a plane without middle seats)."
Voordelen: "No food service from Toronto to LA. And when I asked for item to purchase, it was not available."
Nadelen: "No food service - only purchase"
Nadelen: "I bought the tickets two months in advance, but they put us on standby list when we got to the airport. They over sold. I couldn't believe that. We were told that we should have paid to choose our seats!!!"
Voordelen: "May eventually get home."
Nadelen: "Damn Turkey political instability!"
Nadelen: "My flight to Montreal never happened. After the delay in Cleveland, I got contradictory information about wether my connection was late or on time. I ran and got to the gate for the montreal flight while they were doing their last call. At first they told me I was going to be able to get on the flight, then they said I was not on the flight, and they turned me down ... I found out later that while flying to Toronto, Air Canada had changed my flight because they estimated I was not going to make my connection!!! I had to wait in line for 2 hours to get rebooked, and after waiting, the person who was rebooking my flight decided to take on another person and made me wait even longer. I was sent to Frankfurt instead of Montreal!"

Nadelen: "Very uncomfortable seats."
Nadelen: "Food was very poor compared to other international flights I've been on. The staff was not very friendly I'm sorry to say!"
Nadelen: "5 hour delay. Didn't get the correct seat."
