Nadelen: "I was surprised by a $120 fee for luggage. I don't remember any indication from Kayak or from TAP about a luggage fee when I booked or when I got confirmation. Further, I found out that if I had indicated that I had luggage 3 days prior to checkin, I would have only been charged $92 saving me $."
Nadelen: "They are very sneaky and try to make you check carryon bags - for $120. Will never fly w them again."
Nadelen: "The flight wad late becsuse of the immigration."

Nadelen: "The Airbus 330 is onder Verizon with classic beats with less place and pedals. Also the personal screens are far outdated"
Voordelen: "The crew was friendly and helpful."
Nadelen: "I was in seat 35G. The space under the seat in front of me was very small, and it was nearly impossible to get to my bag when the person in front of me reclined. Also, the young boy sitting behind me was kicking the seat throughout most of the flight. Not your fault, but it was pretty crappy."
Nadelen: "There wasn't food or entertainment. Might want to add NA as an option in those categories"

Nadelen: "a lot of people they pass by preference, and late for star Alliance"
Voordelen: "In flight crew is really nice and respectful, seats were comfortable, clean bathrooms, in flight entertainment is good."
Nadelen: "Boarding at Lisbon airport was one of the worst experiences. Passengers were asked to line up at least 30 minutes before boarding started and it was hot in the terminal. As boarding started, passengers were split into groups by boarding zones...premium passengers boarded first as expected, then people with small bags. This is where the problem was because a group of four passengers who had one small bag (that could fit under seat) were allowed to go before passengers in boarding zones A/B. The whole idea is people who could fit bags under their seat would board first, but the tap team made a mess and allowed many passengers with large bags in as well. I was one of the last ones to be boarded and stranded on the line for over 40 minutes with my backpack...after traveling for a month and being delayed in Rome, last thing you want is stupid mistakes like this to cause you stress."
Voordelen: "Overall, the flight was good. Seats on the international flight could have been a bit more comfortable. Entertainment was available and satisfying. The meals were good. Crew was nice."

Voordelen: "The business class seating was very comfortable and the flight attendants were super friendly and helpful. A good list of movies."
Nadelen: "Shame that the lounge at the JFK airport was closed."
Voordelen: "Clean, modern plane - tightly-packed but comfortable seats. Note: if you travel with a bag with wheels it will be weighed at the gate and those over 8kg will be checked. If you have a heavy bag without wheels, it gets no scrutiny."
Nadelen: "Odd they didn’t have a terminal gate on their home airport - we were bused from a distant spot on the tarmac to the terminal."
Nadelen: "Flight was delayed"
Nadelen: "My luggage did not make it to Florence from Lisbon. Very unhappy about that."
Voordelen: "Missed our flight due to initial delays."

Nadelen: "1h late. Non reclining seats."
Nadelen: "I don't think I have ever rated any service negatively, but here's my first. TAP completely ruined my birthday trip that I have saved up for a long time for. DO NOT TRAVEL WITH THEM! I had a valid Schengen tourist visa issued by the Consulate of Portugal. At the time of visa issuance, the printer of the Consulate was not functioning, so part of the visa information was hand-written, but it was properly signed and stamped. The Consulate told me it's valid and said they have been doing so for ten years. The Consulate also said that they, not the airlines, have the sole authority to determine the validity of the visa. When I went to the airport to check in with TAP, TAP staff denied me boarding because they did not believe my visa was valid. I only learned later that this action was inconsistent with TAP's own internal policies. The staff at the kiosk told me that I could either ask for a refund or rebooking of the ticket. But when I called TAP the next day, I was told I could not get a refund even though they should not have denied me boarding. I called TAP many times and got a different answer each time. They simply refuse to compensate me for their own mistake. It's the most horrible travel experience I've ever had!"

Voordelen: "The actual flying of the plane, take off and landing was really smooth! Well done to the flight crew! We were pleasantly surprised to be served 2 full tasty meals on our long flights as well."
Nadelen: "Tv/movie options were not as good compared to our previous flight to Lisbon. We used the economy option which required us to pay for a seat upgrade in order to be able to hear each other. I will use this airline again if I have to but it isn’t my first choice."
Voordelen: "The plan was clean, newer, and comfortable. If you sit towards the front of the plane you end up sitting in economy plus for the economy price."
Nadelen: "No entertainment, but the flight were short enough it wasn't really a problem. With downloadable Netflix and Prime, that isn't a problem anymore."
Voordelen: "The check in was smooth and boarding was quick"
Nadelen: "We had problems with TAP up front related to baggage fares and them keeping the $85 I paid for my son who is 2 meters tall to be in an exit row and then assigned to a different seat. He was miserable for almost seven hours."
Nadelen: "Huge delay. No clear explanation what caused the delay"
Voordelen: "Friendly and kind captain and crew"
Nadelen: "I was very very sick, so after the 3 hours delay I asked to stay in Lisbon and be sending next day to continue my journey home ... Surprisingly TAP told me that they could pay the hotel in Newark, but not in Lisbon.. Go figure! Called TAP Customer Service 4 times, 2 from Lisbon 2 from Newark... all cases more than 1 hour wait... AND THEY NEVER EVER ANSWERED!?!?!"

Nadelen: "Tha total absence of hard alcoholic beverages, no moderate cocktails"
Voordelen: "New plane. Seats ok"
Nadelen: "Very long wait for boarding. Overcrowding of bus. Food insufficient and mediocre though business class"
Voordelen: "Check-in and baggage drop was fast. Food was good. Cabin crew did their job. Economy plus seats are comfortable and leg room was ok (I'm 1,84m tall). So, smooth and easy flight."
Nadelen: "We arrived with 20 Minutes delay...and it was just the first shuttle of the day... could have been better"
Voordelen: "In the air excellent"
Nadelen: "On the ground, poor communication"
Nadelen: "Some delays at the airport but service is excellent."
Nadelen: "1. Food. I think that sandwich and juice are not enough for 3 hours flight that costs 130 euros. 2. Departure time. The flight was delayed for more than 1 hours. When we arrived at Schiphol it was night already and trains to towns around were super rare. So we came in home at 3 a.m. instead of the planned 1 a.m."
Voordelen: "Timeliness of check-in and the flight."
Voordelen: "The on-board entertainment was decent, as they had pretty recent films available to view. The on-flight attendants were very friendly and professional."
Nadelen: "I'm an average sized skinny male (5'11"/ 180 cm), and I almost literally couldn't fit in my seat. These airlines are doing everything save on costs by jamming as many people as possible onto an aircraft...this makes for a terribly uncomfortable 12hr long red-eye flight. The food was mediocre at best (my gf actually got sick from it), and the boarding process was anything but organized, allowing anyone to board at any given time. It was very hectic and took far too long."
Nadelen: "My reservation was cancelled."
Voordelen: "I was lucky enough to be awarded an upgrade to Business Class on this flight... Relieving the tension of overbooking in economy..I guess my lucky day.."
Voordelen: "The staff was very nice. Only bad incident was the misinformation on getting the D Tax. We went early to the airport to do it but could not get it because of erroneous information form the check in agent."
Nadelen: "When we checked our bags the check in agent did not let us take out bags after getting the boarding pass so we could get the D Tax refund at Customs. She said it was not necessary. She was wrong. French customs wanted to see the merchandise which we no longer had. When we complained at TAP we were told do it in Lisbon. Again in Lisbon we could not get the D tax because that custom agent wanted to see the merchandise which was being transferred to our Lisbon - Newark flight. We loss refunds of over $400. This problem ruined a perfect trip."
Voordelen: "Some staff were helpful"
Nadelen: "To start off our trip we weren't allowed to get on the plane until an hour after our boarding time. After we were allowed on, the air conditioning was not working and continued to sit on the tarmac not even leaving our terminal for another two hours. Within this two hours there were many elderly people asking for help and one specific gentleman whom was in his late 70s, informed the people around him that he had a pacemaker was pleading to get some air conditioning to the point where 6 people on the airplane were fanning him off. It was 90 degrees in the airplane and we had been sitting in the plane without any help even pleading with the attendents to let the elderly off so they did not pass out. Once we reached the 2 hour mark without any ac the gentleman in his late 70s was beginning to lose consciousness and many people had to call the emergency services, and the crew on flight TP214, tried to tell us everything was fine while the plane was pulling away from the terminal ... as they were giving the man oxygen, even though the elderly gentleman had lost the ability to communicate verbally and was about to pass out. They had to pull the plane back off the tarmac fully delaying us 3 hours in the process making us miss our other two flights. Once we were finally in the air for the 6 hour flight our entertainment system was not working so we were left to twiddle our thumbs for the remainder of the trip. It really ruined what seemed to be an exciting trip and I highly doubt we would ever take TAP Portugal ever again or recommend it to anyone no matter the price."
Nadelen: "y extra bag cost more than my ticket. I should have just bought another ticket but was too flustered"
