It was good, better than most US airlines.
the biggest disappointments was, we were not informed of all the information we need, on our scheduled trip coming back to US.. We've tried a lot of times calling and send an email asking about any procedures that we might need to know upon our return trip, but unfortunately there was no response either at all. then came the horrific day of our return trip to US. after an hour and a half being in the long line, we are surprised when one of the airline staff announce that we need to prepare all documents needed including ANTIGEN TEST. This was the start of our horrific experience on that day. Were told different information from other sources, but heard nothing from JAL, as mentioned earlier that we tried calling them to ask for any info for our flight. Long story short as a result of this horrific misfortune caused by this airline, aside from the unexpected huge expenses that we incurred, as of this moment this problem is not yet resolve as we called them letting them of the situation happened to us in our recent Manila trip going to Seattle May 31, 2022.
The service of this flight was wonderful, I love all of them

Nadelen: "The fact that my father was diagnosed with Cancer and they wouldn’t refund our 1300.00 for round trip tickets to the Philippines which is our vacation home. The airline required documentation from my fathers doc which I provided. He was not going anywhere for at least a year (radiation and chemo) and the denied even credit.I was able to get my parents tickets refunded by a different airline. NEVER Again. my father passed 8/12/2018. Our trip was scheduled for 9/13/2018. Very disappointing.see"

Voordelen: "We traveled with our 1.5 year old and JAL was incredibly accommodating and made our trip very enjoyable. They went above and beyond to make sure our trip was smooth and provided impeccable service."
Voordelen: "Was fed a meal and snacks/drinks for this connecting 3 hour flight in economy. Hard to sleep in the economy seats, But with a blanket and thick clothes it would be better! Japan Airlines crew extremely nice!"

Voordelen: "My sister got airsick the last hour of the flight. The flight attendants were extremely helpful and considerate in easing her discomfort."
Nadelen: "The father next to me that spilled two drinks on me. I didn't even get an apology. Beyond sold out plane too..."
Nadelen: "Never make it on flight because the connection flight so messed up. Need to purchase new ticket with different airline finally."
Voordelen: "Good, clean aircraft; professional, pleasant, well-trained crew. Felt good when I embarked, felt good when I disembarked. Can't ask for more than that."

Nadelen: "The food wasn't good and the seats seemed outdated relative to other JAL flights I have taken on this route."
Voordelen: "The fact that everything is included with the flight makes it very easy to fly with JAL. The staff was friendly and helpful when I was checking in. The agent tried her best to get me a window or aisle seat but was unable to. That didn't matter though. Airlines in the US should learn from them and treat their customers the same way."
Voordelen: "L'équipage est très avenant et n'hésite pas à parler un anglais compréhensible pour les étrangers. Mes deux vols n'étaient que de 45min mais nous avons eu droit à un accès wifi et une collation (boissons). Ponctuel et pilotage souple."

My flight was delayed from Montreal, but when I arrived Chicago, the JAL crew was waiting to take me to the next terminal!! (This never happens for American airline companies!!)"
Nadelen: "The food is getting terrible. They had better food a year ago."
Voordelen: "The flight staff was excellent on my flight back to JFK. They were very attentive and kept a smile. There was never a time where I felt uncomfortable. There was open seating on the flight and the staff allowed passengers to relocate for increased comfort. It was a nice flight."
Nadelen: "The food on my flight was just ok. Going out to Japan the food was pretty good and I really enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed on the way back."

Nadelen: "My seat was horrible. I'm sure it was like that for everyone in economy. The seat can't recline putting me in an awkward position for the entire flight. It was a red-eye so I didn't sleep much. Maybe it was the airplane since I flew with ANA last year but with the 787. The difference is almost night and day."

Nadelen: "It was too hot in the plane. The plane lacked individual cooling control. We mentioned how warm it was to the flight attendant. It did cool down momentarily, but remained uncomfortably hot the remainder of the flight."
Voordelen: "The entertainment touch screen didn't work at first, but mentioned it to a crew, it was rebooted right away and worked fine after all. Thank you."
Voordelen: "Hot food was good. Crew were friendly and helpful. They got me a window flight even though it wasnt on my ticket. Leg room was pretty good. Bathroom had a lot of amenities."

Nadelen: "Two key issues: 1. Split up seating 2. Required to pick up and check baggage with limited time due to customs check. 1. They split up all four of our seats (despite booking more than 30 days in advance). Our seven (7) year old daughter was by her self. So was our fifteen (15) year old son. When we addressed it to baggage check (part of major issue number 2), they put two seats together, across an aisle, with both children in them. We obviously just sat one of the adults with the seven year old. This was not just us. SEVERAL families had children seated alone and spread all over the plane. ANA needs to require grouped seating for children under thirteen (13) years old with an adult. 2. Tokyo Haneda is the only airport I can think of where I have to pick up and check baggage again just to clear customs. The flights were 1 hour and 45 minutes apart. With nearly an hour dedicated to getting baggage claimed and getting through customs, we barely had time to fix two of our split seats (see issue 1) and rush via a free bus route that took 6 minutes (luckily we were first stop) to get us to domestic terminal 2. We were then lucky again because we made it through security quickly and our gate happened to be right next to the security check we chose. Another side piece: Haneda Domestic Terminal 2 has four security check areas (A-D). We saw no identifying marks indicating which were closest to which gate. Our bags have already been through a bag check process. Feel free to run them through security scans. Don’t make us wait to collect them just to walk them through the customs desk and check them again."

Voordelen: "Outstanding customer service, I was especially impressed when the flight attendants would intermittently clean up the restrooms- something that definitely doesn't happen on US airlines. Good food as well."
Nadelen: "Again, would prefer a larger selection and more change with movie choices."
Voordelen: "I'm always in awe at how the crew operates, everything is tidy and the services are efficient and utmost hospitality. Look forward to flying with ANA again."

Nadelen: "The flight left late and it was extremely hot in the cabin. It was a good thing that our connecting flight was a couple of doors down or we would not have made it, we sat on the runway waiting for our turn"
