Voordelen: "The seats in Economy are larger than normal airlines and had extra leg room. My partner is 6ft2in and he sat comfortable, even when the people in front reclined. The staff was so polite and helpful. I will definitely fly JAL again!"

Nadelen: "I could not log in in JAL website using mileage account. They said it has been maintanance mode for a while and could not tell when it would be completed. I tried a month later but the problem was not solved. They foward any problems and inquiries to reservation center but calling the number won't find anyone to talk. Always they put me on hold for hours and never reached anyone. I have food allergy and tried to request for special meals but the option was not there under my eticket number as described in their website. They say the option may not be available because I purchased my ticket from 3rd party, not from JAL or it was code share flight. Very inconvenient. I had to skip 2 meals out of 3in leaving for Japan. I got very hungry at the end of the flight...."

The website was hard to navigate and offered very little information"

Nadelen: "The cabin area was extremely warm; at one point, I had to take out the safety card and fan myself. There was no explanation why the approximately 5-hour flight was uncomfortably warm. During the flight, I woke up from a sound sleep because of the heat in the cabin."

Also I will be happy to fly ANA again, but I would not take a redeye flight on any airline unless I was in business or first class which I cannot reasonably afford at the moment."

For international flights: Not ANA's responsibility, of course: the level of Hollywood movie artistry these days is so poor. Perhaps ANA could consider selecting more movie classics and proven gems in their flight selection. More classicTV shows could help, also."

Nadelen: "On boarding, the markers for "business" and "diamond" class are only distinguished by a (low) signpost at the head of the queue. If you're further back or not so tall s difficult to see which queue is correct... quite a few people (not me fortunately!) got turned away because they don't know ANA's boarding system. Also a problem with boarding at HND where the overhead monitors show BIz but not First/Diamond. As some other reviews pointed out, BBC news just didn't work. CNN worked intermittently."

One ANA staff sends us to wait to a certain counter after looking at our ENTIRE trip (all 3 segments), only to find out 20min later that we were supposed to go to ANOTHER counter, because our ultimate destination was International (USA). Also, boarding passes had to be REPRINTED in Tokyo for some reason. Note: on the way to Okinawa 2 weeks earlier, we had similar poor experience, but we only had to wait 5 min in the wrong lane. Overall ANA staff is very nice, friendly and smiling, but seems to get overwhelmed and confused very easily, and take FOREVER to do simple tasks that their US counterparts do 3x or 4x FASTER. --> do more regular TRAINING of your staff at airport counters !"

Nadelen: "The check-in process at Heathrow is a chaos. I’m not sure who’s responsible, between the Airlines or the Airport. It sholuld arrange separate rows between those already check-in online and the others. I also saw the officials let some (1-5) group of (3-8) people each bypass the long queue, without reasons. The seat and leg space are so narrow that the direct 10+hour- flight is not so comfortable."

Nadelen: "3 toilets out of order. Plane very old. Chilli food so hot inedible."

Voordelen: "De l'enregistrement à l'arrivée à destination tout a été facile et efficace. Le personnel au sol au moment du drop-off était accueillant et poli. Le personnel naviguant est juste exceptionnel on peut demander ce que l'on veut et ce même en économie class. Les compagnies européennes devraient s'en inspirer. La nourriture excellente et vraiment j'insiste sur la qualité du service."

We didn’t have another flight to catch or somewhere to be, but it could have been troublesome for others."

Nadelen: "Boarding in Brussels is always a hassle. The plane is never ready for boarding and one has to wait long time to access the plane. They start boarding but do not open the doors of the plane so everybody has to wait long in the tunnel to access the plane. It would be better not to start boarding."

Voordelen: "I was given a seat with more leg room. The check in counter staff in Bangkok took the time to offer a suggestion of adequate seating."
Nadelen: "The seat was a middle seat. Prefer an aisle seat. Crowded flight; no choice available to change to an aisle seat. PTV was old and difficult to set up. The seat next to me PTV was damaged. A sign clearly determine that. Perhaps a review of inventory functions would have improved that passengers experience."

Voordelen: "Thai Airways is a great airline - very comfortable, haven't had an issue with delays as with other airlines within Thailand."

Nadelen: "The food was a touch too salty for my palate. It would have been nice to have someone meet us at Osaka but this may be asking too much."

Nadelen: "Service not responsive when you called them. When seated on the middle sometimes difficult to get out, that's why the is a call button. The only problem, no reaction when activating that light."

Voordelen: "We were flying business class and air china would not let us in their lounge until 3 hours before our flight but Thai Air let us use their lounge...we had 9 hours before the next flight. We will go out of our way to.fly this air line again"

Nadelen: "From the check in, to the food and cabin experience is worsened by far. Check in - no check in line for premium passengers.( really bad experience) Cabin crews could not separate passengers from other cabin consisting using lavatory there fore passengers constantly walk back and forward. (It’s really unpleasant) It’s. Not worth the money to paid for the experience and services."

Nadelen: "I could not plug in my headphones because of the proprietary plug on the airplane. I understand some airlines used to use proprietary plugs to keep people from taking their headphones that were offered complementary for the flight but I’d rather use my high end noise canceling headphones."

Nadelen: "Food options listed on menu were not available. Breakfast was served so late that crew said not enough time to make/serve hot coffee or tea. During flight no crew ever came around to offer more water or liquid between meals. TV was in German with no instructions on how to change language to English. Bathrooms were not kept clean. Also, when boarding at the HK airport, after disabled and families, everyone was asked to board at the same time which resulted in one very long line of several hundred people."

Nadelen: "Plane got delayed for an hour, WITHOUT any air conditioning. I forgot what the captain said about the HKG airport not capable of providing air conditioning to the plane. Anyway, I began sweating after 10 mins, and it sucks."

Voordelen: "Flight attendant spoke good Mandarin and was willing to continue to speak it even to someone who didn't look like a Chinese speaker - unlike some Chinese airlines where they launch into English assuming that if you don't look Chinese you can't speak Chinese."
Nadelen: "A glass of wine or beer would have been lovely."

Nadelen: "Again, would it be possible to have more Christian-friendly movies?"

Nadelen: "We were scammed by Kayak and Cathay Pacific. We had entered all our information correctly: first, middle, and last name. Cathay Pacific did not print the middle name of the boarding pass. Apparently, Hong Kong is strictly on the passport exactly matching the boarding pass. We were stopped before security and Cathay Pacific decided it was the perfect opportunity to charge us $400 for a rebooking instead of amending the name, which we had entered correctly in the first place. We were pushed back and forth between kayak and cathay when kayak told us they weren't able to change the name on the day of the flight. Will never fly cathay or book from kayak again."
