As a result of the lack of communication and general lack of professionalism, staff refused to rectify the situation and take responsibility, and I was forced to stay overnight. Worst"

Nadelen: "We are stuck at the airport because Ethiopian Airlines sent out false and miseading update stating that it’s flight was leaving at 6 PM as opposed to the scheduled 7:30 AM. Because of that no one showed up for the flight and there are no direct flights tomorrow that they would put us on! My father recently had a heart attack and this is causing him immense suffering! Additionally patient with emergencies are waiting to see my husband tomorrow and Tuesday but will not be able to because he stuck at the airport! They are refusing to put us on an airline us direct flight tomorrow! Also we have spent at least seven hours on the phone and misleading (and that’s to put it kindly) statements have been told."

Nadelen: "Spent 10 hours in a broken seat... wouldn’t recline. Screen on next seat was broken so I couldn’t move there. Bathroom out of toilet paper and at the end of the flight there was SO MUCH TRASH AND STUFF EVERYWHERE it looked like the ground at an outside 3 day concert. I’ve never seen such a filthy plane. And the food needs improvement."

Nadelen: "The whole boarding process was a bit chaotic. I was really called on the plane. I tried to signal for a blanket or some food but there was only 2 cabin crew members."

Nadelen: "2 separate incidents. One, a fight between passengers at ththe check in desk that spilled over before staff could resolve incident. Then at security, after immigration, no cues. Minimal staff overseeing the process. No organization. Early"

Voordelen: "Seat layout-767 has only two seats across on the side sections, much better than three, which most planes have. Crew was courteous, captain explained reasons for delay. Plane was not crowded."
Nadelen: "Flight delayed two hours by weather. Ground operations seemed slow. All planes were delayed by weather, but ours took longer to get ready once weather cleared. Passengers were bussed to the plane for both boarding and disembarking while other planes used jet bridges."

Voordelen: "Check in was brilliant. The incoming flight was half an hour early so they wanted to leave half hour early too. We were clearly instructed to be available at gate accordingly. Fabulous breakfast service in Business class too. Pre-order and indicate preferred time of service or to skip altogether so each customer got their required rest."

Nadelen: "The experience from the airport to the plane to Lome was beyond troubling. If ever you are flying internationally from NYC, never fly from Newark New Jersey. Nevertheless, upon boarding the Ethiopian Airline flight to Lome that was supposed to depart at 9:15 pm, the courtesy of the flight attendants was a bit mundane. My mother and I sat on the plane for about an hour after the time of the depart before inquiring why we have no moved and the doors were closed. The flight attendant responded with, "We shall be moving shortly." The air conditioner was barely on. My mother is battling stage 3 Cancer and is an older woman so, I feared for the safety of her health in such a condition. About 30 minutes passed, and we inquired again. This time with a different flight attendant and she said she just did not know what was going on. Other people on the plane began to panic in a sense as well because like my mother and I, they too had a connecting flight to catch. The pilot did not inform the passengers of what was occurring. So, at this point, all passengers on flight ET509 had been sitting on the plane for an hour and a half. By the time we were sitting on the plane for 2 HOURS with the doors closed the pilot finally informed us that they were waiting for some paperwork. He did not apologize or give more information as to why we were sitting on the plane so long, with practically no AC, and weren't informed about when we would be pulling off. About 10 minutes later, the plane began backing up while people were still standing because they were restless with the wait especially when we had a 10-hour flight ahead of us. The pilot then got on the loudspeaker stating that we will be pulling in the air shortly and for the flight attendants to be seated. The pilot did not apologize for the inconvenience or state how long the flight would be or what time we would land in Lome, Togo. Once we were in the air, there were many safety hazards administered by both the crew and pilot. The seat belt safety information was not given, the exit areas in case of emergency were not discussed, what to do in case of an emergency, where certain equipment would be in case of illness or an emergency, and we were still not informed about the cause of the 2 hours and 15-minute delay. My mother and I consistently checked the flight tracker and it did not show the duration of our flight, our location while flying, no flight information was displayed and as hard working paying passengers we should have had all of the information and not have to continuously ask to get a slight answer. Also, I am a vegan and they did not have food for me. But there was a flight attendant who gave me extra fruit which I greatly appreciated. The flight coming back to Newark was decent, going was the major issue. I pray we are accommodated for these great inconveniences. Because to have spent almost $3,000 and receive this type of treatment is both saddening and disturbing to me."

Nadelen: "I used ethiopian on my way back too they told me my bags will go all the way to my final destination and it did not my bags are now LOST!! Crew is not attentive Food was so bad! I ecpexted quality in all areas but not even close."

Nadelen: "Did not provide special meal although I called ahead to request it. Connecting flight left before we arrived to Addis Ababa. Customer service tried to encourage the thought that putting us on a different flight was a courtesy..."

Voordelen: "Plane size, entertainment options and food were all great. Lots of free drinks available and we got plenty of wine. Blankets and pillows were great also."

Nadelen: "Bad service and follow through when luggage lost. Promised it would arrive that afternoon and given a tel number to call. Advised that I could not claim expenses for toiletries, basic necesssities. 1. Luggage did NOT arrive that afternoon 2. No reply to tel calls or got an automatic answering service. 3. No follow through to emails 4. Persistent phone calls at last elicited a response that luggage would arrive next morning - but unable to give a time 5. Luggage arrived late afternoon i.e. 2 full days later 6. I will put in a claim for toiletries, underwear, socks + taxi to get to shops"

Nadelen: "Crew was not friendly and seemed to ignore my requests. Seat was not comfortable. Food was okay."

Voordelen: "Customer service was great and the restrooms were cleaned regularly unlike some long haul flights where it's not the case."
