The seat from DXB to HKG did not quite go “flat”. The upper half went as far back as, i’d say, around 170 degrees."

Also would have preferred it if I could have checked in online for my emirates routes but that option was not available."

Nadelen: "On each of my meals served the food was cold, and was actually ice cold in some places, some of the food served was inedible it was so bad. on a 16 hour flight the crew was mostly absent. Not once did they offer me s glass of water other than the little cups that came with the meal, nor did they come through the cabin to pick up trash. By the end of the flight the waste paper places in the bathrooms were overflowing at least in the bathroom I used."

Nadelen: "The flight was delayed for hours in Delhi with no notice, making us spent the night at the airport. The flight was supposed to get to Abidjan around noon, but because of the delay, we missed the connection and the next available flight was the next day which would mean I missed my next flight and a work conference. In Delhi, the Ethiopian Airlines people assured me that it could be worked out in Addis, and that they could change my final destination to get me where I needed to go. However, in Addis, the employees were rude and did not even read the email that the Delhi people sent them. They would not do anything except send me to Abidjan the following day, which was useless since I already had to be in the US by then. The level of service is incredibly poor and disorganized, with many people having to wait for hours to even talk to someone and no information about what needs to be done. In the end, i had to purchase a new ticket to get to my destination. Had I known this was the case in Delhi, and that i would have to purchase a new ticket, I would have done so in Delhi rather than waiting all night and going to Addis. I fly very often and this is both the worse experience and service I’ve ever experienced on a flight, and they weren’t even able to get me to my destination."

Voordelen: "The airline was quick to give vouchers for food and hotel when flight was delayed by 5 hours. They were also efficient in rebooking missed connecting flight."
Nadelen: "On top of a five hour delay that got me to my arrival point 14 hours behind schedule, my two checked bags were also lost and have not been found up to two days later. The food was like being on a Delta flight, and the entertainment screens in my entire row would not work, nor did many others."

In addition, we had to pay an extra baggage fee and the payment process required us to wait for 45 minutes at the check in desk while the agents tried to sort out a problem wiht their computer system. They claimed that the problem was with the integration of their system with SAA's system."

Nadelen: "They overbooked and pushed us to later flight, later flight boarded late, on run way 2 hours, plane maintenance issue so changed aircraft—supposed to arrive 1:30pm, arrived after 10pm, gate agent erased reservation adding frequent flyer number so my seat was given to someone else and I sat finally in last row by toilet instead of with my family—then no one can find record of my return flight and Ethiopian contact number impossible to reach. Truly awful experience. I have no idea if I will have seat on return flight."

It took a whole week for me to have my luggage back while it was sitting in the Philadelphia Airport for 4 days waiting to be delivered to my house. On top of that no one seems to know the whereabouts of my luggage. Bad customer service. Be aware when flying with Lufthansa."

Nadelen: "We boarded around midnight and after supper, I am accustomed to a few hours of the lights turned off for rest. Even though I requested the crew said it was not policy and I should use the yellow mask (which sadly does not block out the light). I think a few hours off dimmed lights would greatly enhance comfort levels."
Nadelen: "Ground staff past security at Intl departures were unhelpful and scarce. The gate number on the boarding pass and screen did not coincide. Unlike other airports the screen was not the most recent information. Even when told about the discrpancy and mix up for many passengers, the mistake on the computer was not rectified"
