This was my first time to fly Icelandair & I will choose this airline again. Much better than all other major airlines I have traveled with & Would like to see more routes added."
Nadelen: "Would really appreciate an included evening meal on a flight from MCI Kansas City to Reykjavik. The choices of meals for purchase were quite limited & fairly good, but not excellent."

Nadelen: "No one at ticket counter in Portland OR; it was closed. I was late - my fault, but there was no one there to help, answer questions or be of service. The on-line information was inadequate re airport arrival time. I used a third party carrier which I will not do again."
Voordelen: "The entertainment options on board of this plane are great. Kids are welcomed with a bag with toys and crayons."
Nadelen: "The crew is not particularly caring. They are nice but we travelled with a toddler and the seat rests in between seats don’t lift. Try to let a toddler sleep on a single seat... They offered no help. The plane was too hot when we were boarding. Their commercials for Iceland are relentless."

Nadelen: "We boarded the plane and sat on the tarmac for 1.5 hours before having to disembark due to a mechanical failure. We were told by the Iceland Air supervisor inside the terminal that no one would miss their connecting flights. Not true. We were also told that if anyone did miss a connecting flight, everything would be taken care of and ready to go once we reached Iceland Not true. The crew didn't hand blankets out to everyone who needed one. A single beverage was offered for an almost 8 hour flight. No snacks or meals. The attendants were the least friendly and helpful of any I've experienced. They didn't make sure bags were stowed. They didn't check to make sure seat belts were on. I don't even know why the airline bothered with attendants. They did nothing."

Nadelen: "ZERO STARS 4 hour delay with no explanation. Kiosk said to notify if more than two hour delay for compensation. I notified them and they gave me a haste about a meal voucher. I spoke with a fellow delayed traveler and suggested he get a voucher too. He came back empty handed. I asked what happened, he said, "they have not compensated anyone." I then inquired with the service agent asking, "how did I get one then?" I gave them my confirmation number and the agent said, "they have no record of a voucher being given out." I said to her, "you didn't even type the number in!!! She lied directly to my face! I said, "you give out 22000 Krona and keep no records?" I said I had I already received one and this gentleman deserves to eat as well. After they spoke back and forth, again, they reluctantly gave him one too. 3 minutes later, there was an announcement that meal vouchers were available for all passengers of flight FI430. I subsequently contacted customer service by email about this and have yet to hear back, I doubt I will. DO NOT LIE TO ME OR 150+ OTHER PEOPLE. Unacceptable and unprofessional to say the least."

When we boarded our plane it was cold, and then we had to sit and wait for 45 minutes while we waited for connecting passengers. I would've preferred to be held up inside the terminal a little longer than sit on a cold plane with little communication. No water fountains at KEF"

Nadelen: "Tiny seats (average sized male here - trust - they are tiny) All food is charged (not a single piece of free food was offered; $8/sandwich) Lost luggage - I've never dealt with airline personnel (in person & over phone) that displayed such a level of apathy. Compensation ceiling: $99. They apologized about the incident as if they were sorry that it was raining that day - not losing 2 pieces of luggage and not having any means to track them. Check-in personnel: They only gave me a single luggage tag for 3 pieces of luggage - they should have given me 3. Would have made tracing lost luggage easier. Employee @ IAD told me that if I didn't show up at the boarding gate 40 minutes prior to boarding that they would remove my luggage from airplane and that I could risk losing flight (wtf?). Icelandair is one of the worst airlines I have ever flown. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They may offer rates 20% cheaper than other major carriers, but that discount accompanies a steep price. It's an airline run by inexperienced, lackluster, apathetic staff who, frankly, have no business operating an airline. If your options are flying with a major carrier vs Icelandair - and the price difference is a few hundred $: pay the extra money; you'll be glad you did. Icelandair's prices are not low enough to justify all the discomforts and liabilities which accompany them. Look elsewhere. Keep this in mind: I'm a seasoned flyer. This airlines barely ranks one notch up from Ryanair."

Nadelen: "There aren't anymore customary meals - you must pay for literally everything on the flight (except water). Moreover, the prices of everything are generally what you would expect - high. Though I cannot complain too much as the overall price of the flight was generally very good."
