It was left behind in Paris on our way to Casablanca causing us to waste a day in Casablanca traveling back to the airport the grab the bag the next day. And to add injury to insult her bag was left behind in JFK during our transfer for our flight to Seattle. No big deal right, Delta will deliver the bag to our house the next day, wrong, we were told we have to go to the airport ourselves to get the bag."

We were told that it was just a half an hour delay by the man that was informing us of the delay and then we were then told by a woman that it was going to be over an hour. We weren’t told any specifics of why the plane was delayed, other than: “ the engineers are looking at the issue now”. We received messages saying that the flight was cancelled but then we were told to ignore that. We were told that we would have an update every 10-15 minutes but by the time we had the next update was 1 hours later, we were told that the plane will depart at 15:50- which we did. But we also sat on the plane for an extra 2 hours or maybe even more (couldn’t bare watching the time at this point) because the man that was supposed to push the plane backwards in order to reverse the plane didn’t turn up so we then had to wait for all of the other planes to take off before we could. Eventually the plane set off at 18:20 and I got in France 19:30-20:00 ish?"

I had to decide whether ir not to believe the alerts, get some things done and change my airport departure time .... or to disregard the alerts. Flight ended up leaving on time. Why the alerts??"
Voordelen: "The flight was so short we did not even get a snack, only an offer of a bottle of water; this was simply due to to short length of the flight. Basic economy had my wife and I 16 rows apart each in a middle seat. I was in the very last seat on the plane. Flight attendants were attentive and surprisingly very nice, legroom is non-existent (same as every flight in plain coach)."
Nadelen: "High cost to prebook seats was twice what Spirit or Frontier would charge"

Nadelen: "1) Biggest complaint is not about the actual flight we were on, but the one we missed, who left the gate Early, even though they knew we had landed and other people from our BCN to JFK flight made it. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING, esp since all other flights to DC out of JFK were cancelled. 2) We were on the last row of the plane so our seats didn’t recline. Annoying at best bc the flight was so short, but would have been nice since we had been traveling for 18 hours by that point (because of the late flight, missed connection, cancelled JFK flights, etc)."

Nadelen: "Attendant at the gate forced me to leave my troley hand bag to be checked with the excuse the fly was full and there was not sapce for people on groups 7 and 8 ( seats rear in te plane). I explained her I had personal documents and stuff inside my trolley but she told me I had to take another fly if I refused to checked. Our surprise was that the space above our seats ( row 30) was available and left empty the while fly! It was not fear and discriminated!"

I predict that they will not be around in the next 10 years if changes are not made."

Nadelen: "Plane was old and didn't include personal screens in the seats, for an 8+ hour flight it should be mandatory. Everything about the plane felt old and slightly dirty, and while flying across the Atlantic, it's slightly nerve wracking to still see cigarette disposals in the bathroom and on the seats (reminding you just how old the plane is)! The boarding process was a bit crazed, we were put on buses in no particular priority order and dropped off at the plane to all board at the same time!"

Nadelen: "They didn't have individual tvs which was disappointing but showed three movies instead on screens. They announced the movies being shown on the flight at the beginning and then proceeded to show three completely different things, some just being random tv shows. The whole middle section of the plan had static in their headphones so they were unable to watch the movies. The crew was friendly but seemed very confused as if it was their first time working together. Announcements were choppy And confusing. They also asked me to pay 190 dollars extra to sit with my husband. Not the best experience"

Nadelen: "After having my flight delayed 4 hours causing me to miss my connection, I was placed stand by on a different flight through another city so I could try and make it home on time. I was the first person in line for stand by, but the flight was full so I knew it was a long shot. Waiting at the gate, I was excited because one person didn't show and they were giving him a two minute wait time before I could board. During this wait time a woman passenger came over and said she had just been given a ticket change at the gate counter. The agent at the gate was furious because the flight was sold out and said the woman should not have received a ticket, but should have been placed on stand by. She went over and scolded the other agent for this mistake. Okay, so she should've been placed on STAND BY behind me in line. After the unprofessional arguing between the two agents, they both admitted it was a mistake and she should be second in line for stand by, BUT they did not honor this and placed her on the plane bumping me. Needless to say, I missed my connecting flight because of this and extremely inconvenienced my family and in addition had to pay an extra 75 dollars out of my pocket to keep my dogs at their kennel an extra night because I arrived home 5 hours after expected. I understand that flights end up getting delayed and the agents are doing the best they can to accommodate travelers, but admitting a mistake and not fixing it to make it right is unacceptable. I notified American Airlines of my situation and only received a form letter with enough miles to get me 1/8 of a flight. I don't even care about the miles because I don't plan to ever fly with them again, I want the money for the dog kennel I had to pay extra. I was visiting my husband who serves in the US Army causing separation from our family for long periods of time and this extra headache and expense due to the mistake of American Airlines was disheartening."

Voordelen: "After missing my flight by a few minutes, AA booked me on the next flight which was only a 40 min wait, which was a blessing."
Nadelen: "Missed my initial flight due to how long it took to get my baggage to go through customs (after arriving from Japan.) My baggage was then left in Dallas and I had to wait until the following night to receive it."
Voordelen: "Flight left about 30 min late but still landed in philly pretty much only time."
Nadelen: "I wish there was a way to request to not sit next to someone carrying on a pet."
Voordelen: "I was there 35 minutes early at the kiosk, checked in then it said unfortunately you missed your flight."

Nadelen: "My Family and I missed our 5 a.m. flight Tuesday. We then missed one more 6am. Everyone helped my Family and I to get the 8 O'clock flight. Which we did. And had a good trip home. Missing those flight was not made by my Family. But solving that problem was done smoothly. Sharon T."

Nadelen: "I know the saying “you get what you pay for”, but good service from the flight attendants should be expected in the price. It was hard to get a greeting or a smile from them, far from prompt delivery of food or coffee ordered. We were traveling with two kids under 5, but there was no help offered. You are expected to pay for any and all food or drinks, including water. The airline could at least offer free water. The meal quality was mediocre for the price paid, and their stock ran out pretty fast."
Voordelen: "A quick, quiet and relaxing flight - no stress at all. The flight was uneventful. My carry on bag had to be stored in the bottom of the aircraft as the overhead lockers in the aircraft are small. As such - just before you board the aircraft, you place your carryon bag at the bottom of the steps and then when you get off at your destination, you collect your carry on bag at the bottom of the steps - no time wasted and worked easily."
Nadelen: "The English announcements were a little hard to hear/understand as the flight attendant read it so fast - but then again - it was a short flight - so every second counts :-)"
Nadelen: "My checked bag did not make it to London, and it’s really affected my short stay which requires a lot of traveling around England."

I had to pay a total of $50, $25 each way, in Madrid. I was never informed of this in Boston or, again, while processing my checking using Iberia’s website."

Nadelen: "The boarding was supposed to be by zone, but was just a mad rush. They served no food, not even for money. There was an onscreen ordering option, but for the entire flight it said "this service is temporarily closed". They didn't have a beverage cart. Not even water or coffee. I couldn't even get a cup of water to swallow some ibuprofen and an allergy pill (somebody brought a companion cat, I suspect, quite near to me). No food or water on an international flight across the Atlantic??? You've got to be kidding me -- that's gotta be close to illegal, not providing any means of hydration. But it's certainly cheap, mean, and unacceptable. Pathetic, too."

Voordelen: "The captain and the entire crew handled an accident very professionally. Seats in economy class were much more comfortable than the ones on my previous, rotten BA52 flight."
Nadelen: "We get to the runway, wait 10 minutes and go back to the terminal. The captain announces an engine failure. Maintenance inspects the leaking engine, do something and declare it fixed. 2 hours delay and my nerves a bit shaken during take off. We arrived safely."

Nadelen: "The temperature on the flight was VERY hot and uncomfortable! Seats were very cramped and uncomfortable. Not at all an enjoyable experience. Flight was delayed and passengers were bussed to another aircraft for outside boarding. Connecting in New York was very rushed and stressful due to the delay."
Voordelen: "The plane from Nashville was over an hour late so the flight was changed from Nashville-Philadelphia-London-Rome"

Nadelen: "Connecting flight by the same airline put us only 10 mil late. The plane was still at the gate, but they did not let 15+ of us on board and left. We had to wait for 2 hours at a very unfriendly customer service to get placed on another flight."
Voordelen: "My flight went smooth and on time. I think we were early. The service is impeccable. Most in-flight meals are pretty crummy if you get one at all. The flight I took wasn't packed somthere was plenty of room. Even if it was there was still a fair amount of space. The entertainment was way better than the ole " everyone get to watch the same thing. Wi-Fi, new releases, even some classic 80's. if you get bored on this flight you really don't deserve to fly internationally."

A large crowd was allowed to clog gate access, and no announcements were made regarding boarding procedures therefore as a preboarding family with toddler we had to push through the crowd to accessential the gate. It seems boarding status announcements could have alleviated the boarding tension."
Nadelen: "We paid $30 each way for extra legroom, but our seats did not provide it, and there were no empty seats available in the appropriate rows to correct the error. As happened before the airline pleaded a "change of aircraft" with no extra legroom seats. We were somewhat accommodated by being re-seated in the middle section with an empty seat between us, but this was not what we preferred or needed."

Nadelen: "When we arrived at AirPort El Dorado, we discovered that our flight was cancelled/has been changed without warning us! They scheduled us a new flight with Vianca and Iberia: Bogotá-Madrid + Madrid-Brussels. My partner and I could not sit together on any of these flights! 1 of 10 hours and of 2 hours! I would NOT recommend AA to anyone! This was full responsability of AA!"
Voordelen: "The flight attendants are rude, the food is disgusting, and their customer service is non existent. My husband left his iPad on the plane, and realized as soon as we stepped off, but they refused to let us retrieve it. Instead, they went us through this ridiculous online process, where they determined they found the iPad, but "rejected our request to have it returned"!!!!!! The absolute worst!!"
Voordelen: "I got a connection in Madrid to my destination, but the previous flight was delayed about 30 minutes. I got in the airport about 15 min before the gate closed. The gate that i arrived to my connection flight was around 26 min away. I have a condition on my leg and i cannot run, so i walked really fast through the airport and I was so happy to see that they were waiting for my delayed flight... which is very unusual. Thank you!!!!"
Nadelen: "Stewards keep trying to speak in Spanish to you. Every time again you have to ask to repeat in English."

Nadelen: "We were served only one drink on a four hour flight. Couldn’t find a flight attendant to get a glass a water. Had my flight attendant call button on for a long time with no response. Flight attendants walked right by while attending to other tasks and never even asked what I needed. There were a few call button lights on that never seemed to be answered. I asked for water but never received it. Rouge seems to be a very sub par airline from its Air Canada parent, as I fly Air Canada frequently and am not new at this. This airline needs to work on customer service and it’s image."
Nadelen: "Man it was hard to get any sleep the kept selling and disturbing for almost two hours"
Voordelen: "The passengers, the Brussels airport retail area, 1 of the flight attendants who was polite and welcoming, and the entertainment selections. Finally being connected to Swiss staff."
Nadelen: "The crew was not very welcoming and was borderline rude when I asked any sort of question such as why I was not allowed to wear my headphones prior to take off. I was patient in not wearing them, but could not relaxing into the trip for the 40+ minutes we remained on the ground mostly not moving. I was tired when boarding and fumbled with my documents and was very curtly told to just hand them over. Another time I accidentally mistook headphones the stewardess was handing out for something else. I took a pair and then immediately gave them back with an apology that I didn't realise what they were, but thanked her anyway. This was met with a scowl and a bit of opposition. There was one stewardess that was very nice and accommodating out of the entire crew. On top of this the toilet seat on the plane was broken, so it fell on you when you were trying to go to the bathroom, and the soap dispenser was broken. I didn't dare mention these things to the flight crew though. The plane was late taking off from Montreal, and so was late landing in Brussels. No effort was made to provide connections assistance, or provide directions on where to go to rebook our missed connections. I and all others traveling to Zurich spent the entire morning trying to find anyone from Air Canada to help us rebook our flights. We literally were going from desk to desk between two terminals, and consulting each other as we went to limit the amount of leg work we all had to do. We all had to finally leave the terminal area and go to Swissport and stand in a long slow line. By that time any afternoon flight was already overbooked. So I and a group of other passengers were booked for an evening flight which forced me to book a hotel in Zurich because I couldn't get to where I needed to be that evening. After being rebook, I still tried to get on an earlier flight by going directly to the gate. It was confirmed that there was some extra space available, but they would not switch me to the earlier flight because I had a checked bag that I could not separate me from. Ultimately my bag was lost which made me have to stay awake and in the Zurich airport even longer after I finally arrived going from one lost baggage representative to another, and then waiting in another line to finally fill out paperwork because my bag had never been scanned in Brussels. The Zurich representatives were very polite, helpful, and efficient compared to anyone I encountered in Montreal, or Brussels. I was without my bag for 3.5 days of what was supposed to be a 10 day trip. My trip was reduced to 9 days because I spent an entire day in the Brussels airport and then had to spend the night in Zurich. I arrived in Zurich on Saturday night, and received my bag on Tuesday afternoon. All in all it was not a good experience until I got to Switzerland."

On the sub plane they arranged an overweighted guy on my left which made the delay worse as he threw off the strong smell of curry."

So we missed getting on that flight 3 total hours on the phone with United and they did nothing but put us on hold. Thank you to Brussels air who finally after many years and frustration helped us so we could leave. More than 10 hours later than we should have. Horrible experience and we lost a day of vacation and pre paid plans for the evening I will never use kayak again for international flights. As that was part of the problem per United (probably BS but won’t ever risk it again) and will never use United airlines again as their customer service and lack of caring showed that companies true colors. I hope the rest of this dream vacation is better than this nightmare was."

Voordelen: "1. We booked seats together then when I checked in they had moved my seat and we were no longer sitting together. And then I couldnt get the window seat I had paI'd for :( 2. No boarding announcement and the "gate" was under construction so was a madhouse to board. 3. The crew member put her sweater in my food and pushed the coffee so hard to the person next to me it spilled all over him. To be fair she did apologize for throwing coffee on him. 4. The TV screens were so old you had to push the "touch" screen so your headrest kept moving if the person behind you couldn't decided what to watch... and then hard to watch anything yourself. The food was nasty."

This is a huge difference from a couple of years ago when I totally refused to fly this airline due to the the small uncomfortable seats when I was flying from NY to LA. The service was amazing - every person from the kiosk help to the suitcase attendant who found my forgotten duty-free purchase after arrival. I had the best experience flying United - they really stepped up their game!!! No complaints!!!"
