I went to the gate anyway to try; the gate attendant kept me waiting for a seat so long that the gate closed. He was not nice. His colleague booked me on a different flight to LCY airport (instead of Heathrow). But that different flight got diverted to Manchester. So the fast that BA overbooked cost me an extra 6 hours and $140 to buy a train & tube ticket to get back to Heathrow. The fact that there was not a single smile among the staff, and I had to argue to even get on the second flight, is inexcusable."

Nadelen: "When we checked in our tickets had been canceled and when we returned they change airports on us causing us to miss our flight"
Nadelen: "We were loaded onto a shuttle bus and then stood there (some sat, I could only stand...) for 10+ minutes until the last passenger arrived. Not sure what the airline could do differently there unless it's run a "late person shuttle," and from other passengers' remarks, this was unusual for this transfer."
Voordelen: "I require a wheelchair for getting around the airport. When I first checked in at LHR, they claimed to have no record of my wheelchair request and my seat change, despite my very clear notations of who and when these were made. They did have a record of my paying for one suitcase. The agent at LHR promised to make these corrections so I would not have the same problem when returning to London. Furthermore, to turn this into a humiliating situation, at the gate I was informed that the jetway was broken and they would have to find some other way to get me onboard the plane. I cannot believe that British Airways has no contingency plan for a situation like mine. After many discussions between BA reps and ground crewmen they decided to bring me down in a lift at Gate 34, though my plane was at Gate 32. I was then loaded onto the freight platform of one of those food delivery trucks and driven over to my plane. The truck backed into place and again I hoisted up to the plane. However the plane door was locked and we had to bang on it for them to finally open it. To my great embarrassment I helped down the aisle to my assigned seat, looking back at the curious looks and glares from all those passengers who had no explanation for the delay and humiliating scene. Officially the flight was listed at 28 minutes late, when in reality it was 40 minutes till we taxied away from the gate My return flight from Brussels was little better because the changes that were supposed to have been entered at LHR never were and so I had to go through this whole routine again costing me over one hour in delays. Fortunately I was able to board the flight through the jetway and did not have to be hoisted up again, and delivered like freight. How would you rate these flights. I had problems with every single British Airways flight!!"

Nadelen: "No snacks or drinks (not even water) was provided free of charge. Everything was for purchase...really!?"

Nadelen: "3 hour delay, no communication with customers regarding delay or connection. Once we finally arrived st Heathrow for the 2nd leg of our journey, we were put on a later connection, no apologies whatsoever from any of the employees. Overall we spent over 4 hours in the air. We were never served even a glass of water or a bag of pretzels. The seats were very tight with very little leg room, and I am only a 5'6" female."
Nadelen: "Boarding the plane. I do not know why the airlines load the people who are at the front of the plane first. Load the people on the back of the plane first. That way, when you call the next section, the people in the back are not blocking people as they enter. An alternative is to call people in sections based on where they sit in a row. If you have window seat, you should be called first. Why? Because so many passengers who have aisle seats have to get up to let people with middle or window seats get in. So, they hold traffic up as people are trying to get to their seats. After window seat passengers get called, then call middle seat passengers, and last, call aisle seat passengers."
Voordelen: "I was prepared with my smart phone and iPad and external batteries, turns out I needed none of those things! What a pleasant surprise for the in flight movies, music and tv to be perfect. I didn't even have to use my external battery on the flight because there is a perfect USB port in the screen in front of you. The food was as good as airplane good gets, the plane incredibly comfortable and staff was attentive. I don't love the long flights but this BA flight is now my go to anytime Im headed to Europe."

Nadelen: "At JFK there was a long wait for the luggage, which ended up not being delivered to the carousel, after we had waited for almost 2 hours. Granted, there was some snow and some technical issue since the fire alarm system was flashing the whole time, but still, there were only two announcements made during that time, and the second one to let us know that we'd have to arrange for delivery of our luggage on the website. By that time, it was past 11;30pm and everyone was dead tired, when the flight had been supposed to land at 7:25pm. I think the blame is to be laid on the JFK installations. Everywhere I travel in Europe, airports are in brand new condition, and not only departure areas like in the US. No wonder baggage delivery was a mess after just a little snow/"

Nadelen: "the seats are horrible! I expected more comfort on an airbus. there was less room on the international flight than on domestic flights on other carriers!"
Nadelen: "Missed the flight and the next flight was to expense had to take a train to my destination and pay $400 extra dollars. Was at airport and checked in 2 hours early sitting at what seemed to be the only London flight going out. Our flight was not listed on the computer monitors and we checked it several times. Our names were not announced over loud speaker and no one helped us to rebook."

Nadelen: "I guess it's nice that seats recline and give a few extra inches, but the rows are way too close, so when seats are reclined, nobody's getting out, nobody's getting up to stretch, and nobody's using the tray table."

Nadelen: "Even though we had assigned seats we did not get them. Flight was late to depart and really close to lose our connection flight, which for a flight that is less than 1hr you are hoping that should never happen."
Nadelen: "flight out of brussels was cancelled due to bombing of airport which was understandable. But instead of re-booking me on the morning flight out of Amsterdam BA made me wait until 5pm to fly out. Luckily I got standby on an earlier flight but it was a headache ."
Nadelen: "This flight was meant to fly out of Brussels, literally twenty-four hours after the attacks on Brussels Airport. As soon as I saw what had happened, I called British Airways at 9am to attempt to move my flight to a different airport, as my connection back to LAX was out of Heathrow. Fortunately, I was in Ghent, not Brussels. So I spent two hours (at 20 cents a minute) trying to get someone to re-route my flight. It was very difficult to even get a call through, as you can imagine. This is pretty much verbatim of my frustrating exchange: BA: We aren't showing the airport as closed tomorrow, so we can't help you. Me: The International departure lounge is rubble - I don't think my flight will happen. BA: You should still plan on it. Me: I'm in Ghent. What you're suggesting is, that I get myself somehow to a city on lockdown, with no train service, no Eurostar, no metro or bus service. Plus it is clearly unsafe - another bomb went off on the metro. You're telling me that I need to go there? BA: Yes. Me: As one human to another, you are seriously suggesting that I go someplace unsafe because you won't reroute me. BA: Yes. At 6pm, they went ahead and let me know the flight was cancelled. The airport was closed for three days in the end. There is very little chance that I would have made my London connection if I'd waited for them to do their job. Needless to say, I'm never flying with these people again. I got myself to Heathrow via taxi/ferry/train. I ate the cost of the flight. I won't even go into how we were locked on our incoming flight for 45 minutes because they couldn't figure out how to open the doors."

Voordelen: "The flight attendants were very nice!"
Nadelen: "The passengers in front of us were not told to put their seats up during dinner or lunch time. I think, the flight attendant should make that passenger aware. It's very uncomfortable to eat. We were left without service/water between meals. If you are not seated by the aisle, it is not easy to walk to the back and ask for drinks. I flew with other airlines and they have their flight attendants go around quite often offering water."
Voordelen: "Seemed like the flight attendants were upset to be at work on New Year's Eve. They didn't want to help people place their stuff on the over head bins and just watched as people struggled to find space. They also went down the ailse to give food out and were in a rush to do so. The meal options where meat balls and pasta and the meatball option was not good. Then later they served a dessert which was ice cream but didn't let you ask for the flavor. They just gave you whatever came out. They then handed out a flat bread pizza and where in a rush that they didn't give pizza to 3 people."
Nadelen: "Upon boarding the plane, the passengers on this "non-stop" flight were informed by crew members that because the plane was so small and old, a fuel stop in buffalo would be needed before reaching our destination in Philadelphia. Much conflicting information was again passed by the crew on how much time would be needed at this extra stop. We all were beyond angry and frustrated. Many passengers were then scared because some thought the plane was unsafe. Then the head of the crew began getting angry and pointedly asked a women who was afraid "do you want off this plane then?", in a very sarcastic tone. We paid for a non-stop flight. The crew said that this happens with this flight all the time and has been going on for 10 years. Why in the world is this plane stills being used on trans-Atlantic flights?! This is unacceptable on all levels. The captain said that 80% of the passengers had connecting flights. Schedules were ruined. All passengers should receive some sort of refund."

Nadelen: "My luggage never showed up in Paris."
Voordelen: "On time. Comfortable seat. Courteous crew. Easy transfer."

Nadelen: "Having to pay $35 for a little extra leg room"

Nadelen: "Pas de TV individuelle. Diner franchement bof."

Nadelen: "I literally wasn't given a glass of water or any food. I fell asleep for a bit but wasn't woken to be asked if I needed anything when they came around with the carts. It was a 5 hr flight."

Nadelen: "Could not bring a guest into the Admirals Club during the flight delay, although I was allowed to do so on the same outbound leg. There seems to be inconsistency in the way the guest policy is applied (e.g., flying first class international)."

Nadelen: "If I am in business class and platinum status, why can't I use the lounge - which is only available to Platinum status going to LA or SF, Latin America but not to Cancun. American Airlines needs to change this policy."

Nadelen: "I've been spoiled by another airline's access to screens on the back of the headrest. I have my own hand held devices to entertain myself instead."

Nadelen: "The crew at the boarding were extremely unpleasant. The all process of the boarding was ridiculous. The crew was disorganized and it felt like they didn't know what to do with the passengers that came from a layover. The all experience was truly insulting, the crew laughed at as for misunderstanding what she said. I sincerely hope no one would go to the same experience we did."

Nadelen: "The flight did not have enough immigration forms for all the guests. The wifi did not work. The seats were uncomfortable and small. The plane emitted a deafening high-pitched whistle for about 10 minutes at a certain altitude. The plane wreaked of nauseating jet fuel as we waiting on the Tarmac. The flight crew at the gate was rude and inattentive."
Voordelen: "Mon vole de Charlot a New York était en retard de presque 1h. Cela ma cause de rater mon vol international avec Tourkish. En plus de toute la fatigue de passe une nuit dans des conditions très difficile, j'ai payer une pénalité de près de 700 dollars USA pour un autre billet plus d'autres frais divers en nourriture et en communication. Le plus difficile pour moi est que votre personnel a New York était insensible a mes problèmes."
Nadelen: "Un terrible retard de conséquence lourde."
Voordelen: "Although the flight was delayed, the crew kept a positive attitude and got us into another plane pretty promptly. They let us check in one of our bags for free to make up for the delay."

Nadelen: "My headphone jack only had sound in right ear. Headset was horribly uncomfortable so even if I did have sound the headphones hurt too much to use. Should be able to use your own headphones but there was no option to because of the double jack"

Nadelen: "On my app it told me I paid for bags, when we went to check in, the staff advised us we didn't it was very much an inconvenience and an unexpected cost first thing in the morning."

Nadelen: "It was the same crew from my previous flight from San Juan to Miami. They were not nice before and they were not nice on the second flight. It was a long day for us too."

On flight, meals were poor. No personal in-flight entertainment and movies shown were older. All around terrible flying experience"

The plane was clean and bright. I did not notice if the seats recline. I will be using them for short flights throughout Europe when I return for visit."
Nadelen: "Flight was so short they rushed us eating the cookie and only water was served that I could tell. Also, TAP has their own boarding check-in wing of Lisbon airport. It was not clearly marked and Eropean arrows pointing up could mean to continue forward, as well as go to upper floors."

Voordelen: "The plan was clean, newer, and comfortable. If you sit towards the front of the plane you end up sitting in economy plus for the economy price."
Nadelen: "No entertainment, but the flight were short enough it wasn't really a problem. With downloadable Netflix and Prime, that isn't a problem anymore."

Nadelen: "My flight arrived late, apparently, as myself and people on two other connecting tap flights all deplaned after our respective boarding calls had begun. There was no announcement for people with tight connections or about what to do if we couldn't make them. That tap didn't plan out sufficient connection times for the conditions of the airport, and that it was security, not to itself, that did anything to try to expedite is through passport control, etc was disappointing and resulted in several extra hours stuck in the airport for me and for those on one of those other missed flights having to wait overnight for another seat"
Voordelen: "I have traveled with Air Portugal numerous time. Here is a little country very proud of having its own airline company and they do great. The value is great."
Nadelen: "We missed our connection Lisbon to Venice because our plane out of Boston was delayed. We flew TAP Lisbon to Rome and then Alitalia to Venice. Our fight to Rome was delayed. We were never told the plane was delayed or how long we should expect to wait. We just stood at the gate waiting to board and time ticked further and further past the boarding time listed on our tickets."
Voordelen: "Disorganised boarding and staff not efficient Plane was not cleaned until passengers arrived at plane and waited in buses while they finished cleaning, waited standing approximately 30 minutes at plane on bus"
Voordelen: "Both check ins (to and from Boston) the staff were rude. No information, just alot of speaking Portuguese to other staffers while my family and I stood there. The flight and crew were good, clean, kind and efficient."
Nadelen: "There was a strike in Lisbon. Thousands of people trying to go through security and four people working the booths. Plus NO information. Just chaos, bad feelings and HOURS of standing in lines. Stressful. Will NEVER go to Lisbon again."
Voordelen: "Great comfy seats, checking was a breeze and the staff were friendly"
Nadelen: "No entertainment and I thought there should have been a little more food. What they did provide was good just a little shy on the quantity. INternational flight with no free bags."
Voordelen: "Check-in and baggage drop was fast. Food was good. Cabin crew did their job. Economy plus seats are comfortable and leg room was ok (I'm 1,84m tall). So, smooth and easy flight."
Nadelen: "We arrived with 20 Minutes delay...and it was just the first shuttle of the day... could have been better"

Nadelen: "1. Food. I think that sandwich and juice are not enough for 3 hours flight that costs 130 euros. 2. Departure time. The flight was delayed for more than 1 hours. When we arrived at Schiphol it was night already and trains to towns around were super rare. So we came in home at 3 a.m. instead of the planned 1 a.m."

Voordelen: "Seats were comfortable with plenty of room between you and the seat in front of you. Huge plane. Very nice."

Voordelen: "Entertainment! Loved having such a wide selection of things to watch on the screen at my seat. Such a nice luxury to be able to watch a movie, a show, check the status of the flight/plane/distance/time/map, and more."
Nadelen: "The food wasn't that appetizing. It actually gave me upset stomach for the rest of the flight. I was in the bathroom 3x during the flight and I usually don't use the restroom more than once during any given flight. I didn't like that when asking for a drink of water, they only give a half full cup of room-temperature water. On an 8 hour flight, I get dehydrated and could drink 2 water bottles alone. I don't like to be a nuisance to the attendants so I only asked for water twice. I just wish they would provide small personal bottles per customer. I also have never flown on TAP before so I wasn't aware of anything like how to call an attendant using the touch-screen or even that watching movies was free. It should be said over the intercom at the beginning of the flight."

Nadelen: "Oph, I wish I had better things to say about this airline! The person who signed us in for our first flight did so as a "no show" (we didn't know this at the time). That flight was delayed (they didn't have enough room in the plane for luggage and were scrambling to put things below). Once we arrived in at our second location, we sprinted through the airport but arrived at our gate with 10 minutes to spare only to be told that the entire flight was full and that we were not able to board. We asked- how this was possible? We are here on time, we have booked our tickets months ahead of time, and there is no one else here at the gate... it made absolutely no sense. All the staff people did was shrug their shoulders and said that they couldn't help us and that we had to go to the transfer station. My friend and I were upset- by missing our flight we were losing our last night in Barcelona, seeing our friends, etc. before heading back to the United States. Once we got to the transfer station, we were even more confused and upset however, because the staff person there told us that in fact our seats were available and that there was no reason why were not allowed on the flight. However, she shrugged her shoulders and told her that there was nothing that she could do. She offered us a $10 meal card, booked us for the next flight 3 hours later (which put us in Barcelona late at night, way too late to see the city or our friends), and offered us absolutely no help in getting a refund. We asked to see the supervisor and after waiting another half an hour he came out and told us the story about how the staff person in Marrakesh put us as "no shows." This was a complete system failure, however he offered us no refund, no support, beyond telling us to go on the website and filling out a form. Once we got internet, we tried to get to the form- link broken. We called the help line, and after waiting another 20 minutes, we got connected to a woman who said that she couldn't help us- we had to go to the transfer service desk and fill out a paper form there or the electronic contact form. It seemed that every person had been well trained in how to pass clients from one system to another, to see if we would get too tired to file our complaints. No one has taken responsibility for this abysmal failure of the system, no one has apologized, and no one has offered any reimbursement beyond a meal ticket. I highly recommended that people pay an extra $20 for an airline where people are properly trained in how to use their computer systems, where they won't lie to your face, and where they may have a system where complaints and be properly filed and responded to. I have no idea how TAP Portugal is still in business."

Voordelen: "The crew was always smiling and friendly. The food was better than it usually is, and I was frequently offered something to drink."
Nadelen: "I didn't receive a headset for my first flight, though I did on the return. Also, I couldn't turn the monitor off, which made it impossible to sleep."
Voordelen: "The very long boarding line moved swiftly."
Nadelen: "The boarding was late. We spent about a half hour waiting to take off. I don't know how much of this was the airline or the airporr."
Voordelen: "My wife and I recently traveled to Europe for our honeymoon and we found ourselves flying TAP for the first time. We didn't expect to be treated as we were with plenty of drinks, food and a smoothie on such a bargain fare but we are definitely coming back for more."
Voordelen: "The crew was very friendly and accommodating to all requests. The in flight entertainment is great with new movies, shows, music, and etc available. Definitely will keep you entertained and distracted for the entirely of the flight."

Nadelen: "My TAP Portugal flight on June 13th from Boston to Lisbon and then to Madrid was cancelled after having the passengers deplane twice. I was sent to a hotel (due to mechanical problems on the pane). The hotel was 25 minutes away (this is driving at 4:30 in the morning). It took an hour to return to the airport 5 hours later (at 11 am.). My flights returning to Boston were delayed the first for an hour, the second for an hour and a half. TAP Portugal clearly has significant organizational issues to resolve. I will never fly TAP Portugal again, and I will suggest to all my family and friends to do the same. My flight was not cheap ( a fact that I willingly accepted) but to have such an awful experience is unacceptable."

Nadelen: "The long flight to Portugal from Boston TV was broken. Flight attendants said "Poor you". It was very rude that they did not offer any other services, for example a magazine or book."
Nadelen: "Could n't do a computer preboard. Seem like there is always a last minute gate change. Had to go to the airport to sort 'tickets not valid' message on TAP's app."

Nadelen: "Older panes with no phone jack charging options. What's the use of Wifi if your battery runs low or dies. They have charging ports in Business Class. I don't remember the last time I was on a plane with at least phone charging ports."
Nadelen: "1.5 hrs delay in arrival. there were 9 people at the departure gate. The plane was at the gate two hours before departure; but the flight is delayed due to 'late arrival' of the equipment??? Air bus 330, circa 1970. toilets were worn out; tv screens were flickering (can't even see what's on the screen on the walls), wifi cutting in and out, meal was poor; main dish, bread and desert, that's it. In Madrid, after the flight from Zurich landing in terminal E, it was a 45 min walk to terminal A, international terminal. No bus, no assistance, no one to ask how to get there if one is in a hurry. no info desks to be found anywhere. I can't even imagine for a disabled person. THe airport crew with a cart would not give a ride to an old lady with cain. Wow. It is the worst airport anywhere I have flown out of. The check in process was less than good or efficient. I would not fly this airline nor connect through Madrid."

Nadelen: "everything is for sale, i guess. No offering of beverages, not even a cracker. Not even for sale. No announcement for what is available. Again, indifferent to the customers."
Voordelen: "Equipment and crew on both Paris to Madrid and Madrid to Miami were good. 787 aircraft is good. On time and as pleasant as economy air travel today can be."
Nadelen: "Distance between landing gate in Madrid and departure gate too long. (Sign says 31 minutes walking time!) Also very long distance between landing gate and luggage claim in Miami - I don't know what passengers who can't walk well do. Food bad even for airline standards and Air Europa may have worst coffee of any airline - I can't imagine worse."
Nadelen: "No vegetarian options at all"
Voordelen: "I had heard some bad things typically associated with low-cost carriers, but that might only be on their shorter domestic/EU flights. In the bigger plane for the transatlantic flight, there was good service, two meals and drinks for free, and a decent in-flight entertainment system."
Nadelen: "2h delay and missing connecting flight then another 1 h delay on the new flight that I waited 3 h in Madrid"
Voordelen: "The plane was a newer 787 Dreamliner. The interior was clean, the flight crew friendly and professional. The meals were a notch above average for airplane food. That means a lot when it is a nine and one half hour flight. A free glass of wine served with the meal was a nice bonus. Boarding and disembarking was as it is with all airlines, but the staff were very helpful. Each seat had it's own entertainment screen with games, music, movies and TV shows in many languages."
Nadelen: "I have no complaints. I would definitely fly Air Europa again if it is the 787, and a long flight."

No compensation or apologies. The flight was terrible very cramped seats, no entertainment, and horrible food. I suggest to never ever fly with this airline."

Nadelen: "Both flights were delayed (CUN/MAD and MAD/CUN), the space between seats are ridiculously small, entertainment almost absent (and they have the courage to charge 3 EUR per headphones), and the food was mediocre. In my opinion, the price difference is not enough to cover the bad services / products. (some times they are even more expensive than other airlines with much more service quality). If possible, I'm not willing to flight with them again..."

Nadelen: "It was -4 degrees Celsius and we had to board the flight out on the tarmac (a bus had sent us from our gate). It kind of sucked because there was an inevitable mass of people on the stairway."
