I just filed a claim and got rude service saying I should have filed the claim at the airport baggage area but there was not anybody there to do the claim then he agent upstairs said they just spoke to them and they are there and I should have done it there. This was so rude and there is no way to get back into customs area. If we paid 200 for bags I expect them to arrive on time. I’m asking for a refund of the baggage fees."

Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."

You get a drink and snack; and at no annoying sales announcements. Miles club membership is free, even if you don't fly regularly well worth it as it halves the cost of cost of checked baggage. Peaceful airline with no hidden costs during booking."

Nadelen: "I nearly missed my flight because I did not have a seat for a flight that I bought a ticket for at full price. Which, would lead one to believe that I would have a seat on said flight. However, coming to the gate an hour before boarding the personnel working gate the said he was having computer difficulties and could not get me a seat and it would be 10 min. I continued to return till boarding to find out I had no seat and I was on standby. Upon going to customer service they replied the airline oversold tickets and every airline does this as if to make this practice ok. Well being in sales myself and if I were to sell x amount of product to one customer ( or several) I better make sure I have it all there to deliver. People rely on you schedule wise. It nearly shot a meeting I had to make in the foot. Very disappointed with the airline and the way things were handled."

Nadelen: "With checking my luggage my bag fee was waived a total of seven times this trip because I'm a military wife to see my husband overseas who is serving a year in Saudi Arabi except this past time on October 2nd at DCA airport. Spoke with the Supervisor Ralph who stated it was against policy. How stringent is this policy if it was waived seven times previously? Policy needs to be reviewed with entire staff. I will no longer use American Airlines because their military convenience and policies no longer seem to favor the military. My husband also after speaking with him will also no longer use your airline including all his members he overseas when they return after their year tour."

Nadelen: "Seats are VERY small and squished together."
Nadelen: "Airline personnel were not helpful and seemed annoyed when asked questions about a very tight connection I was trying to make in Madrid. They brushed off my questions with one word answers and then it turned out that we were 10 minutes late arriving and I missed my connection. The customer service people who were supposed to re-book me, actually tried to blame me for missing the connection! Overall, not a great experience -- very inefficient process with no one at the airline taking responsibility. Won't fly again if I have the choice."
Voordelen: "This was a good flight with good service and a nice crew. It was especially nice to have actual silverware to use for the meal."
Nadelen: "Changing terminals in New Yory was challenging because the route was not clearly marked. They did not honor the on-line boarding passes, so I had to go to the counter to reprint the boarding passes and then go through security again. I also would have preferred a clean blanket once I got on board. The flight attendants seemed hesitant to speak to me in Spanish, which I speak pretty well and they also seemd uncomfortable talking to me in English, which is my native tongue. This made it hard to interact with them in my normal good natured way."

Voordelen: "On time. Polite crew. Plenty of USB chargers."
Nadelen: "Crowded waiting area. Seats do not recline. Expensive food on board. Entertaining is only for people who sign-up to ‘another’ website. Iberia already has too many websites, users and passwords."
Nadelen: "there was a delay of over an hour and no explanation was given either in Spanish or in English."
Voordelen: "it got me to Madrid!"
Nadelen: "no legroom. the flight crew didn't look happy....they don't smile??"
Nadelen: "I was late to catch my plain to San Francisco 5 minutes because it was too much people at customs and the plain coming from Madrid was 15 to 20 minutes late due to the bad weather. The plain was supposed to departure at 6:30pm and I got there at 6:20pm the agent at the gate told me that the doors were closed and she gave me a plain ticket for the next flight to San Francisco."

Nadelen: "Worst flight I've had ever. Plane was badly maintained. No soap in toilet and faucet did not work. Seats were extremely uncomfortable and absolutely no leg room (I'm not tall, only 5'10") The steward and stewardess talked with each other the entire time very loudly. The entire plane could hear. They laughed and giggled. Several people asked them to stop so people could sleep. It's a job not a date!"
Voordelen: "Food, entertainment (great monitors), new cabins."
Nadelen: "The plane was absolutely freezing. It was so uncomfortable. And no leg room whatsoever. I couldn't even cross my legs."

Nadelen: "The food wasn't very good. But at least they provided us with some. We paid extra foe exit row seats and they allowed someone to sir across from my husband in the flight attendant seat they use during landing and take off. He sat there the entire flight. He was tall with long legs and took away from my husbands leg room which is why we paid extra for the exit row seats. Not sure if he worked for the airline as he was dressed in regular street clothes but annoying all the same."

Voordelen: "I like that it was a plane not so big, and there was more space between seats (more leg room) than in similar flights overseas in British Airways planes; the crew was always very friendly and the entertainment very good, lots of good movies to chose from!"
Nadelen: "The only thing I really did not like of this flight was that it was delayed For about three hours, which affected my plans in the arrival destination"
Nadelen: "They forced us to check our bags at the gate even though we had an international connection to make in London--to continue flying to Chicago. As a result, we had to go through customs and security in London, and would have most definitely missed our connecting flight back home to the States if not for a woman in customs at Heathrow who let us cut to the front of the line. I will never fly Iberia again and will be lodging a formal complaint."
Voordelen: "My rerun flight was overbooked so they had to find another flight for me and one other in my group of 4. Nothing was offered to make up for the inconvienience. They did manage to find a direct flight that departed s couple hours later."

When the plane doors closed on our return trip, we asked the crew about the empty pre-booked seats and they allowed us to move. We really should get a rebate for this leg since we were put in the wrong seats."
Nadelen: "1. Paying $236 for pre-booked seats and not getting them 2. Trays which collapse when drinks put on them and having to eat on a tray when plane is hitting turbulence. 3. Seat light not working 4. Horrible Boarding process in Heathrow and overcrowded waiting area in both Manchester and Heathrow terminals. 5. Being assigned other seats on return trip despite calling 2 weeks before to confirm we had the pre-booked seats. 6. Phone calls prior to check in and talks at check in could not resolve the seat issues. One excuse at check in was poor exchange of data between Iberia and BA. but we booked the advanced seating via BA website."
Voordelen: "The plane is so outdated, the seats feel like they are made of wood. I can hardly believe it is safe to fly such an old aircraft. There is no entertainment, no wifi, no power. Certainly no TVs that worked. But most importantly was the uncomfortableness of the old seats."
Nadelen: "So uncomfortable and outdated. 12 hrs on a flight with no entertainment and hard seats was brutal. I paid $45 for a seat assignment and then got moved to another seat!"

Nadelen: "No air vents and it was hot. Food was no where near the quality advertised, but not terrible. Not enough beverage service. Couldn't get enough water to stay hydrated on a 7+ hr flight. Payed extra to pick seats but when we checked in we didn't get them."

Nadelen: "We did not make this flight due to the first flight being over an hour late. This caused us to miss our connection to St. Louis. While they rerouted others on the flight, they did not reroute us because we didn't check any luggage! Their reasoning was we had a chance to make the connection. But they made us wait in a line for 10 minutes to be told that despite our requests to go to the gate. By then it was too late. We then had to fly stand by to Chicago and stand by again to get to St. Louis."

Voordelen: "Autant j'apprécie quand les agents de bord tente de dire quelques mots en français même s'ils ne sont pas totalement bilingue, un essai est toujours mieux qu'un refus. J'ai vu un client qui parlait en français et l'agente dans ce cas ci s'efforçait de lui répondre et parlé en français. Il s'agissait d'un vol de Québec à Montréal, il ne s'agissait pas d'un vol St-John's à Halifax. Autrement le service est bien et les agentes sont gentilles. Air Canada doit mieux faire à ce niveau."
Nadelen: "Nous avions payé un supplément pour réserver des places assises puisque nous étions 6, dont 4 enfants et ce 5 mois à l'avance. Il s'agissait de 3 bancs sur deux rangées de sorte d'avoir un partent accompagnant 2 enfants. Lors de l'enregistrement, le matin meme, nous avons appris que le model de l'avion avait changé et que deux des passagers devaient être relocalisés. Donc, nous nous retrouvions assis 2 par deux dont deux a quelques rangées de nous. Nous avons dû placer les deux enfants les plus vieux ensemble, sans parent pour les accompagner. c'était leur premier vol en plus et étaient très nerveux! Plates comme situation quand tu débourses pour des places assises d'avances pour être certain de faire vivre une belle expérience à toute la famille et que sans avis, sans remboursement, on te déplace."

Nadelen: "1. Food very substandard. Hot food not very well prepared and rather tasteless, and snack was like a cardboard wrap with some salsa sauce in it. A disgrace to a major airline like Air Canada. Selection of drinks very limited. 2, Staff persisted in speaking mostly French, on an international flight. Some announcements were made only in French. As a Canadian, I can follow French, but let us remember that English is the international language. To use French is not fair to other nationalities, who expect English. 3. Seats far too close together for a long flight. There was more legroom on the Jazz flight from Montreal to Ottawa! 4. Entertainment kept breaking down. Headphones for my wife did not work, and eventually both of our screens went dead. Her's quit right in the middle of a movie. Bad!! 5. Boarding passes had zones on them, but these were totally disregarded in boarding. This resulted on overcrowding, long waits, etc. Hard on older people!"

J'ai finalement eu un siège 2 minutes avant l'embarquement et j'étais bien stressée à l'idée de ne pas pouvoir monter dans l'avion. L'avion était aussi en retard. Vous vendez plus de billets que le nombre de places et cela ne devrait pas se faire. Vraiment frustré par ce dernier vol."

No place to sit, totally packed, could not understand announcements, only bagel place to eat that was out of most everything. I will avoid Air Canada and Toronto airport if at all possible."

Nadelen: "A male flight attendant was unwelcoming when I finally got to the plane (being late was not my fault). Did not want to help looking for a spot for my normal size carry on. When I pointed out one above him, he left my bag there and just walked away. I am 69 years old, 5'1"."

Nadelen: "I couldn't change my seat. I was stuck in the middle seat."
Voordelen: "1. Pilot kept plane informed which is great especially when there is potential turbulence."
Nadelen: "1. No entertainment on the flight. Not even opportunity to see where the plane is in flight and when we will arrive. No USB charger on the flight. Very outdate plane. 2. The plane was very dirty - trash in between the seat 4. The food was the worst I ever tried on the plane 5. I was very surprised at the very disappointing service. I must say, with all the travel I do, apart from 1 young lade, the flight attendants acted like they loathed being there. It is so disappointing especially b/c I am Canadian so it is a bit embarrassing that Air Canada seems to have such terrible service. 6. The flight attendants were out of a lot of things, I heard them mention several beverages they were out of throughout the flight. I also heard them say that there will be no hot beverages while seatbelt sign is on (which it was a lot). I guess that is reasonable, however, it is the first time I have encountered that on the place. Instead they directed to passengers to come up to the back of the plane to get a hot beverage when the seatbelt sign was off. I did a few times - 1st time they said they were out of cups and to stop by later. But 2nd time had the cups. Did these cups get magically delivered midair or perhaps maybe they just needed to bring cups from the storage on the place and could have given me an option to wait while they retrieve them. 2nd time when I stopped by to try to get a hot beverage, a lady with black hair just gave me an empty cup. The whole experience with this flight was confusing - some attendants seemed not to understand fully what passengers were asking."

Voordelen: "Flight was delayed on take off due to late incoming connections. Appreciated that they waited for us."
Nadelen: "The cabin was hot while awaiting take-off, no air nozzles overhead the seats, felt as if no air was circulating throughout cabin."

Nadelen: "We got a hotel in St. Louis so we'd be plenty early for our morning flight. Got to the airport more than 2 hours early, checked in and waited. They announced over the overhead speakers that our flight was delayed due to mechanical issues. Then delayed again. Then cancelled. We were on the phone with both the airline and priceline ASAP. By "on the phone" I mean "holding for the next available representative...", which was more than an hour wait for both. The airline didn't have another flight they could fit us on until next week. We asked priceline to get us on the next available flight. We held, were disconnected, held, held more, disconnected, held more...until the day was gone. That evening they finally said they booked us on a 6:15 a.m. flight. I asked for an email confirmation and when it didn't arrive several hours later I called back. "Please hold" was the catch phrase of the day. Eventually a rep came on the line and said that we had a 6:15 a.m. flight, gave me the flight number, etc. and said the email would arrive shortly. We went to bed feeling good. We got up at 3 a.m. to get to the airport by 4 a.m. The airline didn't have anything on us. We had two hours to get this straightened out so we weren't TOO worried. "Please hold" When the priceline rep finally came on the phone she said we had reservations and the airline should let us on. Even though it was 5 a.m. now there was a long line at the airport check-in. When we got to the front of the line the guy dug deeper into his system, said he could find our reservation, but that priceline just hadn't purchased the tickets. I told this to the priceline rep on the phone. "Please hold" We watched as our flight left. We spent the day trying to get priceline to get us on a flight, but I was never able to speak to someone able to get us on a flight."
Nadelen: "You put me on Delta once I got to Detroit. Confusing and exhausting when you're not use to different airports and flying."

C'est inacceptable que Air Canada ne vérifient pas tous les équipements sécuritaires. Il n'y avait pas d'eau courant, ni dans la toilette. Pas de café, car pas d'eau."
Voordelen: "La durée de vol était relativement rapide."
Nadelen: "Le siège n'était pas confortable. Aucun support lombaire au dossier. C'était vraiment pénible de rester assis. On aurait pu au moins de fournir un oreiller correct, mais celui-ci n'avait aucune fermeté et ne supportait rien. J'ai personnellement apporté mon oreiller de transport mais c'était pas assez. La prise d'écouteur ne fonctionnait pas bien."

Nadelen: "No request was made for the outbound flight which I want to comment about. At Dulles Airport, I checked in at the Brussels Airline counter, only to be told that since I was on a flight operated by United, then I had to go to the United Airlines counter to check in. At UA, I was handed a boarding pass which advised that my seat will be assigned at the gate. I saw on the monitor where the available seats were-1 window, the remainder middle row. I got the feeling that since I bought a ticket which cost less than what the other United Airlines customers paid for, then I was being relegated to seats that the other travelers didn't desire."

Nadelen: "People were not told where to get their transfer boarding passes until last minute. Security check of "random" passengers was overboard. I wasn't one of the passengers who had to undergo the extra security at the gate, but felt bad for those who did. Completely unnecessary.."
Nadelen: "A 1 hour delay in Brussels, combined with the complexity that is Dulles resulted our missing our connecting flight. The United employee who rebooked us for the late-night flight five hours later put my wife and me on separate rows, requiring a second wait in the lengthening lines to sort out. Avoid Dulles. Avoid United."
Voordelen: "2 hours delay. Seems a trend with United domestic flights (technical problems, not the weather issues). United should review flight schedule to consider the delay so the passengers don't have to be a victim of those delays."
Nadelen: "Delay!! After traveling 20+ hours internationally, 2 hours delay on the last leg really is a big burden."

Nadelen: "Food didn't look great. There was a vegetarian option, which was nice to hear, though I opted to just eat food that I bought since the food looked like TV dinners. Also snacks were like pastries and cheese/meat sandwiches, which I didn't try. I would appreciate healthier snacks, like fresh fruit, or failing that, dried fruit and nuts. Also there were no electrical outlets, which made it a lot harder to get any work done on the flight. For such a long flight this was disappointing."

Nadelen: "The flight was delayed for 4 hours. We were told to proceed to the United terminal in spite of the delay. There seemed to be no effort to inform or assist us. There was very little to do in this terminal but wait to see if our flight would eventually come. There were other United passengers in the terminal who were also waiting for overly delayed flights. eventually, we had a plane that was extremely small, cramped and uncomfortable. United seems to consistently oversell its seats and then tried to get people to give up their seats. Very poorly managed airline with bad customer service. Sadly, I have to say that I have never had an acceptable experience on a united flight. Will NOT take another United flight."

Voordelen: "The flight never took place, and I was never notified - not by United, not by Kayak, not by anyone. I called Customer Service on March 31 when I was notified the flight from Marrakech was rerouted to Liege, Belgium and was told to take a bus to Brussels. When I got to Liege, I was boarding a bus to Brussels when someone told me the airport was closed. I then got my flights rebooked on Lufthansa. Why was I never notified that the United flight was cancelled? I haven't checked on it yet, as I just got home after flying 3 flights from Liege instead of 1 flight from Brussels. I understand the situation is bad, but why NO NOTIFICATION?"
