Nadelen: "I think something was broken in our section (mel to lax) as it was uncomfortably hot and the flight crew tried to get it cooler but could not. I’ve never experienced a flight that was too hot, usually the opposite. It was stifling."

We were checking in with our infant daughter and it took 50 minutes to check in with a senior person helping the check in person and phone calls to their technical assistance. We were told an infant is difficult in their system, and our dual national daughter was another layer of complication."

Nadelen: "During my flight from LAX to LHR I requested (pre-booked) a special meal (Asian Vegetarian). During the flight I was told there was no such request in their records and therefore I had to stay hungry for the entire duration of the flight. During my return flight from LHR to LAX the in flight entertainment system for my seat was not functional. I requested it to be reset several times and in spite of the hostess resetting it several times, it did not function. I had to stay without an entertainment system during the entire flight. This was my first time travel with Virgin Atlantic. I may never fly Virgin Atlantic again."

Voordelen: "Leg room in economy was good. Staff very professional and made a long flight bearable."
Nadelen: "At check in the name on my reservation read Ron, not Ronald which is on my passport. The second agent I was referred to was unpleasant and charging $100. Had same problem out of Seoul but there was no charge for the ticket change. My interaction with the second agent left a very bad taste in my mouth."

Nadelen: "Vera the entertainment screen was very good but there were no newly released movies, everything seemed to be a couple of months old... the leather headrest was comfortable but kept slipping down to behind my neck, would be nice if it was lockable in position.."

Voordelen: "I wish I knew the name of the crew on this flight so that credit is given where it's due. A female steward was incredibly kind to me. She allowed me space to cry in the back of the aircraft, and also gave me her personal tissues. Her care is the only reason I'd give this flight an 'okay.'"
Nadelen: "Unlike the incredibly kind woman, another woman on the crew was incredibly rude to me and to other passengers on the plane. She was very obviously annoyed with nearly everything on that flight. The restrooms were beyond disgusting. I have never flown on a flight with a restroom that awful; it smelled horrible and was filthy. It was reminiscent of a portable outhouse, no exaggeration. The pillow on my seat had makeup on it."

Nadelen: "The floor at our feet had been spilled on during a previous flight and not cleaned. Bag was lost and not returned for 5 days. Crew during flight was flippant and disinterested in service...unless you were Economy+."

Had no idea this service was discontinued until way into the flight. Not sure why it was stopped. Btw I don't believe this was a Virgin Atlantic flight, I believe it was Virgin AUSTRALIA. Think you have names backwards on survey."

Nadelen: "You lost our luggage. We were able to pick up our luggage after the Sydney flight, but they never made it to Minneapolis. What I don't understand is why we were not able to get boarding passes and seat assignments when we did our check-in in Sydney? Why is that so hard? Also, when we were getting our boarding pass in LAX it was so confusing when it asked for checked bags. Our bags were already on a belt going to who knows where - were we supposed to check "yes"? If we had a boarding pass this would not have been an issue."

Nadelen: "I was very disappointed that even though I booked through Virgin Australia when their partner Delta didn't get us to LA on time from Minneapolis, Virgin Australia said its Deltas fault, talk to them. They were not going to help."

Voordelen: "The crew was great with updates. Checking in was a bit confusing though as not all the crew knew what was up. It was a very crowded day so it was bound to be a bit rough. Of my last four flights to London Virgin Atlantic was the best!"

Seats were not so close together in coach that your knees were against your chin if the guy in front of you put his seat back. The planes I was on To/from LAX-BNE felt very spacious because of the interior height. 2 free checked bags."
Nadelen: "The food was mediocre--doughy stuff for both meals Not very tasty. The entertainment selection was nowhere near as good as on other airlines. Very Australia-heavy music, old films & TV shows available, as well as some new ones. But no live TV channels, not even current news."

Nadelen: "This VS007 flight is in an old Airbus that needs a major overhaul, especially compared to newer planes in their fleet. The screens are hardly visible, the movie selection more limited, the seats old, and no electrical outlets for a 11hr flight is just not acceptable these days!"

Nadelen: "It's so confusing when they list Virgin and Delta interchangeably, when you're not exactly sure which you're going to get. And in my experience, there is a huge difference between the two, so I prefer to know exactly which airline will be servicing me. Just be more clear in listing on flight info. This was not a Virgin flight, it was a Delta one."

Nadelen: "Retard de l'avion ( 3-4 vols différents). Perte de mes bagages qui à entraîner un déplacement pour rien à l'étranger pour le travail vu que je n'avais pas le matériel de travail avec moi. Nous faire monter dans l'avion, rouler sur le tarmac, après 30 min de prise de retard sur le départ, nous annoncer qu'on retourner à l'aéroport et qu'il fallait changer d'avion pour problèmes techniques. Pour nous annuler complètement Le vol! Nous faire descendre de l'avion, devoir aller se trouver un autre vol, aller recuperer la valise, retourner l'enregistrer, et retourner à la sécurité tous ça avec une amabilité digne de la froideur allemande! Auncuns repas ou autre bois a été offert au moin pour s'excuser. Après avoir eu tous ces problèmes avec la même compagnie j'ai contacter à plusieurs reprises le service client qui m'a raccrocher au nez! On m'a dit qu'on me remboursait Le vol. Je n'ai jamais eu de nouvelles."

Voordelen: "One of middle aged blonde flight attendants - didnt get her name- was super nice and friendly and shoukd be rewarded for standing out in the crowd of flight attendants. Food above average."
Nadelen: "Delay at departure in Frankfurt - fuel tank problem- made people miss their connection flights. Medical problem on board caused delays and me having to change seats at the end to where the sick woman used to sit - smelled of vomit, gross. 3 crying bwbies for 12 hours. Seats too narrow, room in front too small with table pulled out. LH always good but not this time."

Nadelen: "Hickups in entertainment screens. Seats seem te be smaller again Rows without windows"

They rushed the final food service with less than 1hour left to LAX and had to eat very quickly before descent and had little/no time to fill out customs cards. In seat entertainment TV worked very poorly - very slow response to pressing buttons and very slow load of content."

Nadelen: "We were given seats directly behind their Premium Economy or whatever they called it on the return flight. We had purchased an upgrade. I have evidence of cc charges. While our seats (located directly behind the Plus section) gave us extra leg room (I don't know why) we did not have the wider seats, food service style and menu as given to those directly in front of us. There was actuallly a barrier between them and us which hit me in the head every time I stood up! On a long flight from Munich to LAX we felt and were cheated."

Nadelen: "I didn't enjoy I had to search if my flight was cancelled due to. Lufthansa pilots strike. I'm not enjoying to still wait to find out if I have a flight to get back to the States on Monday because my flight was cancelled. I'm really annoyed to get this survey since Lufthansa should know there was NO flight to LA today!!!"

Voordelen: "I was really surprise that the coach seats were comfortable and had plenty of space. Flight was on time and it was easy to check in luggage. I truly enjoyed my 12 hour flight. I will be booking my international flight with Lufthansa again."
Nadelen: "The on plane entertainment wasn't up to par. Not a lot of selection for sitcoms, if they had a sitcom it was only 1 episode. 12 hour flight I didn't have much to watch after the first 6 hours. Food was ok."

Il me semble totalement illogique de me faire dire qu'il n'y a plus de place pour moi dans l'avion alors que j'ai le billet en main et qu'il a été payé. Comment une compagnie peut-elle accepter mon paiement alors qu'elle n'est pas en mesure de garantir le service pour lequel elle a été payée? Selon cette philosophie, il faudrait peut-être payer nos billets d'avion une fois RENDUS à destination? Beaucoup de stress inutile et une mauvaise opinion de la compagnie aérienne..."

Nadelen: "Flight was cancelled and we had to return to Amsterdam after du,ping fuel to make sure we could have a safe landing."

Nadelen: "I paid almost $400 for upgraded seats. When I got to the airport-- no seats-- both ways!! i didn't even have regular seat assignments. I had to choose from the last few seats available. The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Nadelen: "Le vol a été dérouté sur Lyon pour des vents dangereux. Seul hic, l’ensemble des autres vols atterrissants à Genève on tous pu atterrir dans la même tranche horaire. Ensuite reacheminement en bus ou taxi pour les plus chanceux. Sans qu’on nous donne le moindre repas. Pourtant atterrissage prévu initialement vers 11h. La il est 14h10 passé et le ventre vide et toujours sur la route entre Lyon et Genève."

Nadelen: "Without any explanation the plane I was due to go to Istanbul on at 11.30 was not available. I had to wait for a small plane coming from Edinburgh then wait for it to be emptied of passengers and cleaned. This meant we were over 2 hours late into Istanbul. No explanation or apology. I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."

Voordelen: "Ground staff at Manchester very helpful"
Nadelen: "Information on KLM website and flight status said 50 minutes delay and was never updated with the true status. 3 hours before we took off. KLM blamed the fog at Manchester but to be honest most other flights seemed unaffected. Put up in an IBIS hotel and fed substandard food and shitty hotel room with an Aircon unit that clunks into action every 30 seconds keeping me awake. It's external so I can't switch it off. Being given a 10 Euro voucher for food at the airport when most food and a drink will cost you 12 to 15 euros."

Voordelen: "Prima vlucht! Geen aanmerkingen."

Nadelen: "Flight way delayed 3 hours. Staff gave no information and wouldn't help rebook us onto other flights. They gave us food vouchers 2 minutes before we finally boarded, so we couldn't use them. The food on the plane had spoiled so we were all starving on the flight, and we all missed our connections. Horrible experience and wouldn't fly with KLM again."

Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Voordelen: "The flight to and from Los Angeles was operated by British Airways and was on one of their Airbus fleet. Boarding was completed efficiently and with ease. I sat on the upper deck and was very comfortable in comparison to other major airlines previously used for this particular flight. The plane was very clean and the crew were outstanding. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for crew, and they were ready with beverages, including tea and coffee, and snacks throughout the flight. In flight entertainment was good. All in all very pleasant flight to and from the U K."

Discussing this with the staff at check0in and at the gate, made no difference as they had no knowledge of what was available on that particular flight. Every time I fly with American I'm reminded of why I don't like the airline and I will do my best to avoid them moving forward regardless of competitive ticket pricing."

The plane was old and the in in seat screens were old too, with poor resolution (no touch screen to illustrate the aging technology). Although the entertainment selection was relatively current the aging connection in the arm rest, coupled with cheap ear buds made for a poor listening experience."

Nadelen: "When I arrived to board my flight I was highly unsatisfied with the excessive charges I received for my luggage that was overweight (only by 7 pounds). I was not only charged an additional $100 for my second checked bag, but I was also charged $200 for the extra weight. As a college student traveling abroad for 6 months, I did not expect to be bombarded with these fees at the beginning of my journey. Due to this experience, I would like to have been notified ahead of time of the expected charges as it made me uneasy before a long flight."

Voordelen: "Nice flight, plane was new so that was great. I was traveling alone and got upgraded to Premium Economy. Lovely!"

Nadelen: "I travel at least 1 week a month either to Europe, South America or across the United States. The Airplaine was extremely old and looked like it was not refurbished at all since the 90's. Unlike basically every other airline (including airlines from the developing world) the plane did not have a personal entertainment system which is rather vexing considering the flight is so long. The decoration of the plane looked old and worn. The crew were more interested in getting the job done quickly than properly."

Voordelen: "Checking was a breeze and there were no hassles getting through security. The flight was great and they even had a vegetarian option for my meal! I would highly recommend to anyone for International flight!"

Nadelen: "I fly frequently and never have I had such an awful experience. My 7 hr, nonstop flight took 22 hrs, staff were incredibly rude and non communicative. I sat on an airport floor 5hrs after I waited 2 hrs for a nonexistant cot. I received $19 for food in NYC and some frequent flyer points for an 11 hr airport delay (doesn't count the additional 2 on the Tarmac). Whoopee... They can have them back because I will not fly American Airlines again."

The entertainment on board is very very old stuff, and shockingly the food is also bad and no vegetarian food."

Nadelen: "When boarding a flight it would be a good idea to board the plane in smaller sections instead of business class first and then all economy regardless of row. This would prevent 400+ people gathering around the gate crowding a busy walkway. Poor selection for movies and tv. One of our seats had no audio and the seat control center was inoperative so we couldn't even turn the reading light on. The audio quality and headphones were terrible on the seats that did work. Ok The seats were less comfortable than our British Airways flights on the way out. No alcoholic drinks were provided either like they were on the British Airways flight. We paid for a British Airways flight and were placed on a discount airline."

Nadelen: "The airplane is an older model airplane. Everything rattled during even minor turbulences. The seats just weren't comfortable enough for a transatlantic flight. There was no leg room to be somewhat comfortable. Due to the age of the airplane, there also weren't any USB charging outlets for cell phones or tablets."

Nadelen: "The plane was dirty and old, the food horrible, cramped seats, dirty and non functioning bathrooms, stressed out and inattentive staff, poor coordination of seating families together (I was told my seat was given to a woman so she could sit with her adult daughter...I wasn't asked, just told), the flight was 1.5 hour delayed, my bag was lost because the incompetent staff member in Italy didn't give me a bording pass for the Dublin to LA flight (I'm still waiting over 24 hours later to find out what's happened to my luggage). Overall, this flight was a nightmare and a huge let down after flying to Rome on British Airways. I can't say enough about how wonderful that flight was..Aer Lingus was a big disappointment and a poor substitute for BA. Very unsatisfied customer!"

My husbands entertainment unit would not work, after we paid $90 each for an 'upgrade'. Also, somehow British Airways didn't communicate I was Gluten free so I had no meals or snacks for the flight. I would not recommend using Aer Lingus even if BA books this leg as part of an overall travel."

Nadelen: "In flight when people were sleeping the crew were loud and interrupted causing you to wake up every time there was a food service or rubbish pick up. On an 11 hour flight this became very annoying when you were trying to get a good amount of sleep. The LCD screens on the back of the seats were the worst interaction I've ever witnessed on an airplane. The touch sensitivity was like something from the 1980s and made it very frustrating to select and navigate. On top of that the screens would spontaneously restart - my boyfriend and I witnessed the same interaction so it wasn't just one seat. Boarding at the terminal was not done efficiently in Dublin. The check in process with the kiosks was set up confusing and the crew helping did not help when clearly we needed it. There were no clear signs designating check in from baggage check. Baggage check that was self check out was not clear. When we received our boarding pass it stated that the doors would close at 1:30 for a 3pm flight - we got to the airport on time and were frantically trying to make it to our gate. After confusing baggage drop off we then had 2 rounds of security that was less than pleasant and we were ushered to a ground level terminal, or what was suppose to be a terminal. There was one food outlet that was understaffed with a huge line - we realized that our flight wasn't actually going to start boarding until 2pm so we could have taken our time. When boarding began they stated we were in final boarding and to not worry it was to stress out the people who hadn't been through security yet. There was no section boarding, it was just a free for all in which everyone waiting in yet another line. Very disorganized and inefficient. I would choose another airline for my next trip to Ireland."

The vegetarian meal was even worse than the regular meals - soggy sandwich & steamed vegetables are pretty rough."

I was comfortable and enjoyed a great selection of music. I also liked the products in the complimentary bag.
