Nadelen: "A Japan Airlines employee escorted me every step of the way to ensure that I made my connecting flight from Tokyo to San Diego because I only had an hour and ten minute layover and this can be challenging when you’re in a foreign country. I cannot thank Japan Airlines enough for how easy they made traveling and how comfortable they made me feel. I Highly recommend flying Japan Airlines for your travels."

Nadelen: "The flight was late to board. The crew was polite but not overly friendly. I wish they had an earlier flight so we didn't have a 15 hr delay in Narita but I guess the itinerary is what it is."

Nadelen: "The food was uncharacteristically bad for JAL. They served some sort of French chef's dish that was terrible. Normally, JAL has great food that I love to eat. The plane was also pretty old so it felt more cramped than usual, and the seats we uncomfortable."

Voordelen: "As expected from JAL, the flight was amazing in every way. The food (the Japanese meal) was not typical airline food, it was actually very good. The courtesy packets had many useful items including eye refreshers, lip balm, and the bathrooms were kept very clean and stocked with both mouthwash and toothbrush/paste. All together as flawless and comfortable an experience as possible on a commercial carrier."
Nadelen: "There was nothing I didn't like, but if I could make a suggestion it would be to offer a larger selection of movies and shows on the long-haul flights. Also the cabin twmperature was a bit too warm but I understand that might vary from flight to flight."

Nadelen: "The boarding was terrible. They called for groups, asked everyone to form 2 lines, but after the lines were formed, closed one boarding lane. Some people were late to board for first-class, causing even more boarding delay and chaos. There were 5 crew at the boarding gate just standing and watching. I selected a seat closer to the rear of the cabin, which received much worse attention than any other flight with ANA. I didn't get asked for a drink until very late, and the second time around there were almost no drink selections available. My seat was also broken and would not recline. Aside from the actual airline, the passengers in the rear were very inconsiderate. There was a big family with several children running around/crying/playing with seat-back trays the entire 11+ hour flight. Again, this is not entirely the fault of the airline, but it was a discomfort."

Maybe someday."

Voordelen: "My 96-yr-old father was given an airport wheelchair after we checked his own transport chair. He was wheeled through security and to the departure gate. We were advised they changed us to a bulkhead row w/an unoccupied seat adjacent to his. Twice during the flight one of the flight attendants came to tell him that she would help him off the plane so to wait for her after the rest of the passengers disembarked. The meal was very tasty.Chicken karaage was not crispy but I wouldn't expect it to be. The rest of the items were well seasoned with the right consistency. Dessert was a flan custard with passion fruit sauce (very Hawaii!), even including a few seeds from the fruit as garnish."
Voordelen: "ANA staff are generally well trained (but are you really allowed to land with your laptop open on your lap as some people were?) ... good service overall, good movie selection, food varies from OK but boring to very good indeed ."
Nadelen: "Both meal A and B selections would have caused problems for people with shellfish allergies. One was a seafood doria so they have me the other meal. The other had a sauce with seafood extract in the ingredients. I can read Japanese so didn't eat it, but there wasn't any English information on it."

Voordelen: "I flew from ORD to Tokyo and DEL to Tokyo. The flight was clean food was really good. What I like the most about ANA is the leg space in basic economy. The flight from Delhi to Tokyo was brand new 787-9 :)."

Nadelen: "Boarding bridge was not available at Narita airport. Stairs (trap) to ground were tough for my mother who has bad legs."

Traveling these days can be a little strange and at times more difficult than normal due to this pandemic. Finnair did an amazing job and all areas of the trip! I would absolutely fly with finnair again and will recommend the airline to friends and family.

Nadelen: "They promised an upgrade to premium economy and then they didn't follow through, they lied when they said that row 30 was premium economy, all this felt very very weird. Jacqueline the flight attendant recognised the problem and gave us premium headphones to make up for the error."

We had to go to another desk person to help us who was a bit more polite. The Finnair Customer Service telephone service was completely unhelpful even though this was booked as a Finnair Flight. The crew on board was ok, at best. The food was the poorest we had in both flights we took (we travelled from Barcelona to JFK, New York, and from JFK to YVR, Vancouver). We were most pleased with our flight from New York to Vancouver, with Cathay Pacific, who, by comparison, had very helpful and pleasant staff both at the JFK Airport and on board."
