Voordelen: "Our flight was delayed due to lightning strike on arriving flight, we were transferred to non stop EVA Airline so we can get home and not need a connecting flight in Japan. JAL did all these arrangements without us requesting it. They also were very polite and got our luggage in time to be on the flight with us. JAL is truly a top airline in the world."

Nadelen: "How about being stranded at Narita Airport due to bad weather AND not helping your passengers rebook. Told us the flight was cancelled at 10:30pm when suppose to fly out at 7:30pm. No trains or hotels available, only way to rebook was through their phone service? Which didn’t open until 8am. Why not rebook at the ticket desk, guess what? You can’t!"
Nadelen: "You mean the flight that never happened? The one that was suppose to fly out at 12:50 on 1/6/18 delayed until 17:25 (with acceptable communication the first delay) but then later delayed till 00:10 after I’ve already arrived at the airport early for the 17:25 departure. The screens with arrivals and departures posted that Checkin was open but there was no JAL staff to answer questions. Then getting an update “maybe” the 00:10 flight is cancelled? What is maybe cancelled and JALs phone messege still said the flight would depart at 00:10. So I go back to JFK because after all “maybe” isnt a definitive and according to all the direct JAL sources the flight is suppose to depart, I get to JFK the second time only to be given a printout saying the flight is cancelled with no rebooking, and to call for assistance. The same number is been calling for hours trying to get answers. coukdnt reschedules because I’m calling outside of business hours! I spent $200 on cab rides going back and forth to JFK to go nowhere, get no apology, no new flight booking, and no reimbursement for transportation."

Voordelen: "On an overnight long-haul the thing I hope for most is sleep. The crew rapidly started beverage service after takeoff. Dinner was cleared and lights turned down about 1.5 hours later, including three opportunities for beverages. Lights came back up only about an hour before landing. Despite that no one seemed rushed. Seconds were offered for coffee, passengers had time to use the restroom before de-planing. We likely had almost 4 hours of our approximately 7.5 hour itinerary to attempt sleep."
Nadelen: "Having said that, the seats are not made for my over 6 feet tall spouse and myself. More leg room isn't going to help a lot. There's too much room between our necks and heads and the headrest so we end up slumped over even if we recline the seats. Hoping to win the lottery so we can afford first class some day."

Nadelen: "The flight was delayed and when we arrived to the destination we were unable to land and the pilot made a brisk turn then the landing was rough. We also fad to wait about 45 minutes before we parked at the gate. I suppose the bad weather was to blame but it was very uncomfortable and would have appreciated better communication from the flight crew."
Voordelen: "David took really could care of our cabin. Likes his cheerful attitude. He was excellent. Hope you let him know."

No one from Kayak or BA helped us.. we were out anithet $1100. ..worst experience ever will never use Kayak again. The right thing to do is for Kayak to refund our original.tickets....since we had no control over our delayed flight but I am sure that will not happen."

Nadelen: "There are no blue US custom declaration forms on the flight anymore. Many people cannot access the automatic kiosks, and I wish we could still have access to the forms while on the plane. It is stressful to have to do it after landing, with no real place to write. The flights were both fine, but the layover in DFW was a nightmare. Thankfully we landed 30 min early, but we only made our connection with a few minutes the spare. We ran through the airport, and had to ask many people if we could go ahead of them at the security. We didn't have time to use the bathroom and buy water/food. I understand this is not the airline's fault, but I would recommend extending the minimum connection time at this airport."

Nadelen: "American advertised free TV and movies streamed to your device via a card placed in the seatback pocket and in the flight attendant's announcement. Although the card stated, "This Flight. Free Entertainment..." I was informed that there was, in fact, no such feature."

Nadelen: "Stood on the jetway for 30 minutes due to some issue with boarding. Aircraft was tiny, not enough bathrooms for such a long flight. Dirty bathrooms and long lines."

Nadelen: "The airport was super crowded and the space in the plane was cramped (and I am a small person - 120 pounds). The plane was not clean and I actually picked up a virus on the plane and am still sick. I wiped down all of the surface area around my seat and still got sick. Airline travel is miserable and crowded and there is minimum service."

Voordelen: "As somewhat experienced travelers, we know to keep carry on luggage as tight as possible. I was pleasantly suprised to see that overhead bins were not full! We didn't have seats next to each other initially, but the gate agent put us in the exit row with extra legroom!"

Voordelen: "I lucked out and was able to get a emergency row seat which helped tremendously because of having long legs."
Nadelen: "What I don't like is what is true of all airlines now and that is that if you are born with long legs you are penalized and expected to pay more money than people with short legs - that is prejudice and not fair to people that cannot do anything about it. I understand charging obese people extra because they have a chance to change it. Also, seats are too narrow now!!!"

Nadelen: "We arrived at 3pm for our 545pm flight. Once we arrived at the gate, we were notified the aircraft would be coming in late (10-15) due to tech issues. The AA staff was aware the plane had mech issues and decided to board us anyways. After 45 mins of sitting and waiting around in our seats, the pilot preceded to ask us to deplane the aircraft. AA gave us a lousy food voucher and booked us on the next available flight to Miami which wasn't until 1145pm! AA crew/staff handled the situation in a disappointing manner. The AA crew at the gate spoke in a condescending manner as if were young kids! I was appalled by that! I will not be flying AA anytime soon!"
