Voordelen: "The crew on-board were polite and did a fairly decent job, with what they had to work with... It's a big long flight of 11+ hours, so tough to deal with so many people. An unexpected surprise was the nice selection of all types of movies to watch and kill time."
Nadelen: "300+ People on a plane will "radiate" heat, so the temperature inside the cabin after 6 hours was so hot that I was perspiring profusely. I even requested it be adjusted, which it seemed to be for a few minutes but then right back up to 27°C... it is too long of a flight to be that uncomfortable with no adjustments considered. I asked other passengers if they too were "uncomfortable" ALL said yes. This would have solved also in my opinion the screaming small children that were also obviously "irritated" A cooler cabin would have induced a "sleep" environment, none of which I was able to get. Sadly, based on this alone, I will not fly SAS again, unless Business Coach class or 1st Class. I was surprised that an additional Coca-Cola was charged for when some beverages were complimentary... puzzling."

Gate seating area at CPH was far too small - very stuffy and standing room only. - Aircraft on its last leg. Most of the A340's seats had broken cupholders. Restrooms were out of paper/soap with no attention from crew. Overhead personal lights were either burnt or malfunctioning. - Lunch meal was decent. pre-landing meal is the same as the snack... some sort of dry and non-appealing wrap. - Crew did not perform passenger safety-check before takeoff and landing (seat backs raised up and seat belts fastened)."

Nadelen: "The side lights never were turned off, so it was hard to go to sleep. On a long overseas flight, there should be some down time. It was dark outside part of the time, but never dark inside the plane. The leg room is also a bit cramped for tall people."

Nadelen: "With a flight scheduled for around 11 hours, seat comfort is at the top of my list of importance. These big Airbus planes have the worst seats for long hauls. I had forgotten previous experiences when I made the reservation but won't in the future. If it is a big Airbus, I'll opt for a flight with a 767, 777, 747 or 787. And what's with one soda per flight? Overall, an acceptable flight but just barely."

Nadelen: "Plane was old and really dirty. no televisions. I booked a premium seat, but was assigned a middle seat in economy. Not sure where the glitch took place. Cabin crew was friendly though. ALSO, SAS/United booked my connection through O'Hare, giving me about 1.5 hours to clear customs and security...I was only able to make my flight due to some nice people who let me cut lines and a lot of running through the terminal. Generally annoyed with the experience."

Nadelen: "Instead of a direct flight from Los Angeles to stockholm I got three flights and two layovers just because they said They were understaffed and I ended up having a very long and terrible flight shifting from one airport to another and I did not get offered any upgrades or compensation for this inconvenience,"

Voordelen: "Best of class service + great cabin. I sat in coach but it felt like business class on other airlines (which makes me wonder what business class is like on SAS! ). Highly recommended."

Voordelen: "Everything went very smoothly boarding and getting seated. Food, service, and entertainment onboard made it a pleasent journey."
Nadelen: "Seat-backs are not shaped like a human spine. They curve away from the occupants lower back rather than providing lumbar support and curve back in at the occupants shoulders. This means a person in a proper sitting position has only two points of contact with the seat-back. One short session with any occupational health specialist would point out a lot of problems with these seats."

Not happy about that!!! No explanation of where it had been, my guess would be that it never got aboard the plane from Copenhagen. I am 80 yrs.,and I need my walking aid."

Nadelen: "No free alcochol. Had to spend a night in Dublin just to connect! Over two hours late. And Aer Lingus really stunk flying the night before from Milano to Dublin. One person at their many counters for two hundred passenegers. Last time for Aer Lingus. On the other hand British Airways flew us from SF to Milano. We thought we were returning by British Airways. Screw job!"

Nadelen: "The entertainment system wasn't great. The earphones quality was quite bad and felt really uncomfortable. Unfortunately, AerLingus still has that double pronged plugs and I wasn't able to use my personal set (actually, I could but sound would only work on one side). I'll definitely fly with them again, only next time I'll bring an attachment for me to be able to use my headphones."

Voordelen: "I've traveled Aer Lingua several times and been pleased enough to keep choosing AL for my transatlantic trips, however this, the on February 4th 2017 was my last favorite because this time i felt the low-budgetness of travel. there was less leg room, the food was edible, the in-flight A/V was not worth the effort of trying to watch our listen and the crew in my section not very attentive. Having said that, this was a one time mediocre experience that I'm reviewing and hasn't put me off AL at all - it's a good airline and I will continue flying with them."

Nadelen: "No water is brought around after the first hour until the plane lands so you could go 8 hours without a drink. Drinks are available in the galley but it's difficult to reach through all the people"

Voordelen: "The crew were lovely from beginning to end. The direct flight to SFO was stellar after traveling for three weeks. The pilots' directions, decisions and effort were very professional. The selection of movies and entertainment were great. The meal and snack were good."
Nadelen: "All seats should now have a USB port, not just a power outlet. The sound system for the entertainment is terrible. The connection should allow for personal headphones, earbuds to be used. Watching a great movie on a terrible sound system is quite frustrating. Also, the crew needed to include another full pass through of sodas/juices and a few more trips to collect waste. There was way too much of a dry spell for a 10+ hour daytime flight."

Voordelen: "The flight attendants were very helpful and friendly. I loved the prescreening in Dublin for U customs and passport control so that we din't have to go through that in San francisco. That was fantastic."
Nadelen: "The vegetarian meals i and my husband ordered for the round trip by my speaking to an Are Lingus rep for the flight from SFO to Dublin when we booked our seat assignments were not available. The attendants managed to find me a veg meal, but not my husband. This was totally unacceptable on a 12 hour flight!!!! and we had trouble getting the meals on this return flight too, even though i had called and confirmed they were available. When we got the food the quality was poor. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and the smallest seats I have yet to encounter, and I do a lot of flying. My back is still hurting."

Voordelen: "The flights to and from Dublin were very comfortable, the food was decent, the entertainment solid and the staff were very courteous. We were ahead of schedule both directions, which was also a plus. I highly recommend this airline."

Nadelen: "I arrived at the airport with a single carry on bag. I travel frequently and I have taken this same bag on dozens of flights on several different airlines and had been allowed to carry it on. At Aerlingus check in, I was told that the bag was overweight (it was not over sized, it fit in the baggage size checker). I was told that I would not be able to carry the bag onto the plane and must check the bag. When I arrived at my destination and retrieved the bag from baggage claim, one of the outer zipper pockets had been fully unzipped and my paperwork (receipts from my business trip) were spilling out of the bag. I was disappointed that my belongings would be handled so carelessly by the airline. If they are going to force passengers to check baggage rather than carry it on, the least they could do is show some care in handling passengers property."

Voordelen: "I was fortunate to get an upgrade and loved every aspect of my flight. The food was excellent, service was impeccable and offered with a genuine smile. I was comfortable and enjoyed a great selection of music. I also liked the products in the complimentary bag. I will definitely be using Aer Lingus whenever I am traveling to an area they service, and will be referring you to others. Thank you and happy 2016!"

Voordelen: "The ticket price was by far the lowest. Airbus A320 is fairly new, clean and has the regular entertainment options. Staff was decent. The meals were acceptable."
Nadelen: "Paying for food and drinks: most airlines ferrying people over the Atlantic have free snacks, (alcoholic) drinks etc. They only served one serious meal on an 11 hour flight which pretty much forces you to buy snacks and sandwiches. Staff wasn't particularly friendly either: they seemed hurried and inattentive. They were out of many things like drinks, choices of meals, blankets etc. way too soon. Seemed like they had stock for about 30% of the plane. This is strange considering we departed from their home airport (Dublin). Missed the USB-charging port for smartphones / tablets that I'm used to from airlines like United, Delta, KLM and Turkish. On an 11-hour flight, it's very convenient to have your phone / tablet charged."

Nadelen: "I was held up in customs which made me miss my flight. because aer lingus only flies to san francisco some days I had to wait two days to get a flight back home. they don't work with any other airlines to provide you a flight home and when I took the only flight they had to the US I had to go to Boston. Instead of providing me a trip back to sf they said not there problem and I was left in Boston and Had to pa 558.00 to get a ticket home. I fly United and southwest all the time and they have never treated me like that. the united customer representative called aer lingus because she was so shocked that they didn't get to me to my destination that I had purchased. I will never fly them again nor will anyone in my company. I plan to tell every one via social media how crappy and cheap this airline was."

Voordelen: "We could tell upon boarding that the crew was focused on making our fight of 10 hours as pleasant as they could. They got along well together, which aided in providing excellent coordinated care to the passengers. Not an hour passed without being offered food, drinks, snacks, drinks, and more food. Even a time delay at take off due of a passenger leaving passport in the terminal was made up mid flight, for an ontime arrival in SFO. Would definitely look to British Airways for my next European trip."

Nadelen: "For the 2nd time, neither me or my husband got our food choice...it has happened everytime we have flown. And we purchased full fare business class seats! I can understand once and maybe for one of us but it has happened EVERY time. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I sadly left my laptop onboard and I called the number for SFO BA Lost and Found for 48 hours....every 20 minutes. NO ONE answered and no one returned my messages. I finally had to drive back to the airport to talk to a human....a 5 hr round trip. No laptop turned in and it didn't turn back up in London. So clearly, cleaning crew stole it. That in its own right is a problem but NO ONE returning my calls. Completely unacceptable. I got the duty manager's email and emailed him TWICE over TWO days before he returned my email. I highly doubt I will fly BA again, I'm afraid."

There were lots of entertainment choices on the tv in the back of the seat. The first meal was really good (pasta). Thank you for a great flight."
Nadelen: "The boarding gate was not announced until very close to boarding time and boarding seemed a bit of a free-for-all. The second meal/ 'hot snack' of a pizza pocket was gross."

If I had known we would be placed back a row and not able to be more comfortable I would not have paid that fee. I do feel as though I was scammed for the $225 for reserving the seats."

Nadelen: "There was nothing different that could have been done. We had a 5 hour layover after our flight from Shannon. That was ok because we ate, shopped and generally used the time. But we were 1/1/2 hours late taking off, then had to wait to land because we were out of order for the gates. It turned into a 23 hour day."

Voordelen: "LOVED the hospitality of the crew, the food was great and they feed you a lot on the flight- my guess is to quell the anxieties of flying over the atlantic LOL. Flight to SFO from London was smooth."
Nadelen: "The seats are intensely uncomfortable. I upgraded to emergency exit this flight and still no room. Also, would be amazing if there was WiFi (even if for parts of the flight and not the entire flight). 11 hours is a long time to listen to same songs on your ipod lol."

Voordelen: "I was prepared with my smart phone and iPad and external batteries, turns out I needed none of those things! What a pleasant surprise for the in flight movies, music and tv to be perfect. I didn't even have to use my external battery on the flight because there is a perfect USB port in the screen in front of you. The food was as good as airplane good gets, the plane incredibly comfortable and staff was attentive. I don't love the long flights but this BA flight is now my go to anytime Im headed to Europe."

I find it outrageous that BA inconvenienced 400+ passengers for the sake of 2! This should not happen no matter how much they paid for their seats."

Nadelen: "Lost my wife's reservation for return trip. Thus, lost the extra luggage reservation and payment as well. Seems Aer Lingus failed to input her ticket properly into BA system. That's what BA claimed, anyway. It had been a mystery as to why we could not check in on line so we knew something was wrong. Could not easily pick up phone to correct while in UK. FINALLY, BECAUSE OF LATE CHECKIN, SEATS WERE MIDDLE MIDDLE in a giant airbus jet and quite a bit less desirable than we usually get by checking in early and arriving early. Overall a disappointment, tho we arrived safely and nearly on time."

Nadelen: "They cancelled our flight and the only reason we flew with them is so that we could fly on an L380. After they booked us on American Airlines, they rescheduled the flight that we really paid for. THEN, when we tried to check in at the airport we found out that BA did not actually book us on American even though they gave us seat assignments. We almost missed our flight home because of their horrible service. Will NEVER fly BA again."

Nadelen: "This flight was meant to fly out of Brussels, literally twenty-four hours after the attacks on Brussels Airport. As soon as I saw what had happened, I called British Airways at 9am to attempt to move my flight to a different airport, as my connection back to LAX was out of Heathrow. Fortunately, I was in Ghent, not Brussels. So I spent two hours (at 20 cents a minute) trying to get someone to re-route my flight. It was very difficult to even get a call through, as you can imagine. This is pretty much verbatim of my frustrating exchange: BA: We aren't showing the airport as closed tomorrow, so we can't help you. Me: The International departure lounge is rubble - I don't think my flight will happen. BA: You should still plan on it. Me: I'm in Ghent. What you're suggesting is, that I get myself somehow to a city on lockdown, with no train service, no Eurostar, no metro or bus service. Plus it is clearly unsafe - another bomb went off on the metro. You're telling me that I need to go there? BA: Yes. Me: As one human to another, you are seriously suggesting that I go someplace unsafe because you won't reroute me. BA: Yes. At 6pm, they went ahead and let me know the flight was cancelled. The airport was closed for three days in the end. There is very little chance that I would have made my London connection if I'd waited for them to do their job. Needless to say, I'm never flying with these people again. I got myself to Heathrow via taxi/ferry/train. I ate the cost of the flight. I won't even go into how we were locked on our incoming flight for 45 minutes because they couldn't figure out how to open the doors."

Nadelen: "I did not like the 10 hour layover in London especially because there appeared to be earlier flights. I also did not like sitting in the middle of two people who would not stop talking really loud on their cell phones."

Voordelen: "There was no food provided and there was no entertainment on this flight. Plus, this flight was on American Airlines; not British Air. I would give British Airways higher marks overall."

Voordelen: "Flight was comfortable till the last hour."
Nadelen: "Boarding was chaotic and unorganized. Only 1 jeddy was open. More drink service would be better The last hour was terrible. Lots of turbulance. This was probably not the fault of anyone."

Nadelen: "Upon boarding the plane, the passengers on this "non-stop" flight were informed by crew members that because the plane was so small and old, a fuel stop in buffalo would be needed before reaching our destination in Philadelphia. Much conflicting information was again passed by the crew on how much time would be needed at this extra stop. We all were beyond angry and frustrated. Many passengers were then scared because some thought the plane was unsafe. Then the head of the crew began getting angry and pointedly asked a women who was afraid "do you want off this plane then?", in a very sarcastic tone. We paid for a non-stop flight. The crew said that this happens with this flight all the time and has been going on for 10 years. Why in the world is this plane stills being used on trans-Atlantic flights?! This is unacceptable on all levels. The captain said that 80% of the passengers had connecting flights. Schedules were ruined. All passengers should receive some sort of refund."

Nadelen: "The most uncomfortable flight I have ever been on. British Airways website would not let me check-in in advance so me and my travel partner had possibly the worst seats on the entire plane. The seats were miserably uncomfortable. All of the people surrounding us were extremely inconsiderate. The person in front of me reclined their seat to the max, leaving me with inches of space in front of my face. My knees were sinking into the seat in front of me and I'm not even a tall person (5'5" with average length legs). I had to recline my seat a bit and when I did so, the person behind me kept kicking the back of my seat. The passenger to the left of me used both armrests available to him and left me with none. He was also a creepy person and asked my friend if she wanted to sleep on him."

Voordelen: "The crew, food, and comfort of the plane were all outstanding. The plane was the quietest and smoothest ride I have ever had. We were delayed almost 3.3 hours because of a change in planes that needed to take place earlier in the day, but there was plenty of notice ahead and some minor credit was given for food while waiting at the airport. All understandable."
Nadelen: "The baggage at the end of the flight was quite delayed and after waiting almost 1.5 hours was told that a significant portion of the baggage had not made it to SFO from London. Curious as the flight had been delayed 3.3 hours so one might assume there was plenty of time for all connecting baggage to make the transfer. All the agents on the ground were very helpful, however seriously understaffed and overwhelmed by the scale of the problem so passengers, already delayed 3.5 hours, lost about another 1 - 2 hours, no fun at 9:30pm."

Nadelen: "The lack of legroom is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I am 5’10 and my knees were planted firmly in the seat in front of me. I’ve had 5 knee surgeries so this made the tight squeeze even worse. Furthermore, the inability to move is cause of blood clots."

Voordelen: "The entertainment was probably the best part of the flight."
Nadelen: "The staff were less than friendly, the food was terrible . Not to mention it was like pulling teeth to get a beverage from time to time. Wouldn’t do it again...... there too many service oriented airlines available to make this mistake again."

Nadelen: "The flight was cancelled at the last minute due to a hurricane. Both British airlines and Iberian airlines posted conflicting information as to the flight cancellation, hence affecting hotel reservations and proceeding flights. The whole process has been a nightmare. I will have serious reservations booking future flights with either airline. Very disappointed !"

Nadelen: "I am filing a complaint for my recent flight from Madrid to Chicago, IL on 2/26/17. During my flight, a five year old sat in front of me who was disruptive throughout the whole 9 hour flight. He was yelling and slamming on his tray table nonstop. This made it hard to sleep or relax on the flight. He was disruptive to everyone in the whole cabin. I tried to be patient, as it was a child, but when the child started climbing the seats of the row and kicking his legs in the aisle, I had to act. Not only was the child a hazard to the well being of the passengers of the flight, but he could have hurt himself. His parents did not seem to act on his behavior and did not speak my language so I was forced to approach the flight attendant in my cabin. I told the attendant, “N. Cara” as her name tag stated, how concerned I was with the child’s safety and how he was disrupting the flight experience of all the passengers on the flight. She was disgruntled as I was the third passenger to approach her. Instead of acting on the situation, she scolded me. In a rude and derogatory tone, she yelled at me claiming she couldn’t do anything and I should just move to a different seat. She yelled so loud she attracted the attention of all the passengers around. I am shocked and disappointed with the treatment and customer service I received from the crew on this flight. Furthermore, I recommend that the airline should ensure that their employees are competent enough to deal with situations where passenger’s safety are at risk. The fact that the crew member did not attempt to approach the child’s mother or address the situation at all was appalling. It should not be the customer’s responsibility to address disturbances or safety precautions on a flight. I do not think I was treated well on this flight and I am very unhappy with the services I received and paid a great amount of money for. I believe I should be compensated for the mistreatment I endured. This may have been the worst flight I have ever had and I do not plan on choosing Iberia Airlines ever again due to this experience."

Some passengers got refills before we got one. Poor execution. we had to check two bags on connecting flight (which we didn't have to do before) and it cost us time and money. Also they lost the two bags - got several days after we got back from trip huge line at immigration - we waited almost two hours will not travel on TAP again"

Voordelen: "Everything about this airline was easy. I had a layover in Lisbon and decided to LEAVE the airport and come back and had no problem whatsoever. Good entertainment onboard and free. I was quite comfortable for a 7.5 hour flight."
Nadelen: "I didn't have a problem."

Nadelen: "Late from Lisbon."

Nadelen: "The seats were so closed to each other that the tray in the seat that was in from of me was against my stomach. I was practically unable to get out from the seat when the seat in from of me was reclined. My knees were touching the seat in from me. Terrible."

Voordelen: "The crew was always smiling and friendly. The food was better than it usually is, and I was frequently offered something to drink."
Nadelen: "I didn't receive a headset for my first flight, though I did on the return. Also, I couldn't turn the monitor off, which made it impossible to sleep."

Nadelen: "Sitting near a crying infant"

Nadelen: "Sound was very poor. Earplugs hurt. Screen was blurry."

Voordelen: "No delays. They served food. Comfortable seating."

Nadelen: "This flight was way overbooked and my travel partner (whose ticket was booked on kayak at the exact same time same way as mine) was arbitrarily put on standby. With zero notification that this might be possible we both would have missed our connecting flight to the states in Heathrow, thus costing us thousands of dollars and personal/business grief for not returning home as planned weeks in advance. THANKFULLY the staff took our situation into consideration and my partner made it on due to ONE person not showing up. Otherwise, we would have had no legal right to any cornpensation. I would not have left my partner behind because I was the party responsible for booking travel and the one with means to resolve their situation. I will say the staff was sympathetic to our situation but they were unable to offer a single solution other than "wait and see" and our only other alternative flight was taking off while we stood there waiting. This is clearly an issue with the way the ticketing is run and I feel bad for the staff having to put up with the drama that must unfold whenever this happens. Sites like kayak and the star alliance should work together to prevent these sorts of scenarios from ever happening. What is the point of booking something in advance? Mechanical issues, weather, I get that- but overbooking an international flight? Bad bad bad."
