Voordelen: "There is a reason Qatar was ranked the best airlines last year. From service that was above and beyond, whether on the plane or in the airport and lounges. The nicest and most attentive people. Outstanding menus and comfort on the plane."

Nadelen: "The aircraft was changed and passengers were required to check in their hand luggage, yet remove their electronics from their hand carry. In my case I had several electronic items which I had to carry onto the aircraft and store awkwardly which created a major risk of my camera and laptop being damaged in the process. This is not the kind of service I expect from Qatar Airways, especially considering the exorbitant ticket prices."

Voordelen: "Philadelphia-Doha was excellent and noticeably better than Doha-Bangkok. ood, service, condition of aircraft were all better in the PHL-Doha leg. I have done the trip a few times now so it is not a fluke. Odd that the Doha food (and I usually get the local dishes) is very so-so. I usually only take a bite or two. Not appetizing. The Doha-BKK staff was less professional as well. The trays of the main meal were left with the passengers so long, we passengers started to bring our own trays to the galley. The plane out of Doha was very tight so passengers in economy have that sardine experience. The cup holders did not work although they would have been useful."

Voordelen: "Just like on previous domestic flight experience, I love how Thai Airways is able to promote and provide for customer comfort and service on such short flights - something that US airlines are so incapable of providing. Not only was the A350 comfortable and spacious, the fact that they also served a meal on such a short flight is so much appreciated."

Voordelen: "For such a short 1 hour flight, they managed to feed an A330 plane load of people - pretty impressive feat considering that US carriers don’t even bother to give complimentary hot food on a cross country flight. The color scheme didn’t hurt either. The FA’s were very accommodating and so pleasant."

Nadelen: "The boarding at Bangkok Airport was a let down. Not only was the gate far away, we had to climb flights of stairs in the process to get to the aircraft. Certainly not suitable for passengers with knee problems."

Nadelen: "The flight was delayed, and then seemed rushed at call Last Call. Also the ear phone jack was a double that even the TA ones didn't quite fit. Glad it was an overnight flight and slept most of the way."

Bonus points for the Beemster cheese sandwich (I was totally disappointed when they served the food, but more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cheese - I even bought some afterwards, from the Albert Heijn just outside the security area)."

Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything."

Nadelen: "I paid almost $400 for upgraded seats. When I got to the airport-- no seats-- both ways!! i didn't even have regular seat assignments. I had to choose from the last few seats available. The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Nadelen: "Le vol a été dérouté sur Lyon pour des vents dangereux. Seul hic, l’ensemble des autres vols atterrissants à Genève on tous pu atterrir dans la même tranche horaire. Ensuite reacheminement en bus ou taxi pour les plus chanceux. Sans qu’on nous donne le moindre repas. Pourtant atterrissage prévu initialement vers 11h. La il est 14h10 passé et le ventre vide et toujours sur la route entre Lyon et Genève."

Nadelen: "Without any explanation the plane I was due to go to Istanbul on at 11.30 was not available. I had to wait for a small plane coming from Edinburgh then wait for it to be emptied of passengers and cleaned. This meant we were over 2 hours late into Istanbul. No explanation or apology. I then missed my next flight in Istanbul and had to purchase another ticket. I cannot believe that air passengers are treated in this way!!! I will follow this up with KLM when I go home from my holiday."
