Voordelen: "We had a turbulent trip but our pilots were very competent and got us to Zuroch safely. Bathroom was pretty clean."
Nadelen: "The plane was an older model and very outdated. The flight attendants gave us a choice between chicken or vegetarian pasta. I chose chicken, but it was actually beef. The salad was literally iceberg lettuce and a slice of cucumber. Overall, the meal was one of the lowest quality I've ever had in am airline. The outdated onboard entertainment system was annoying to operate and it was impossible to even see the screen when the person ahead leaned back."

Chez Swiss : impossible de réserver puisque j'ai réservé chez ANA... Repas franchement mauvais, rien de japonais, pas de chopsticks alors que la moitié des passagers étaient japonais. Divertissements : équipement vidéo d'un autre âge !"

Nadelen: "You really need to either have no legs or be 5’6” or less to fit in the seat without angling sideways. But alas SAS is no worse than the competitors in this department. Crew served meal 2.5 hours into 9 hour flight and about an hour after complimentary drink. My can of Coke was well gone when the mediocre dinner arrived and I got an earful for daring to ask for another one. It finally arrived after dinner with the creditcard machine etc. Yes, it was $4.00. I passed. As the coffee service was in full swing."

Voordelen: "Really appreciated how helpful everyone was, from check-in at Newark to arrival. The entertainment system worked well, too. Aside from the two issues I describe below, SAS seems to be extremely efficient and well-run."
Nadelen: "There was some mix-up - not sure where - but I did requested a vegetarian meal and it wasn't in the system. I'd also requested an aisle seat due to a hip issue and was told I'd have one - but when I went to check in, I'd been put in a center seat in a bulkhead. I was able to change but it was the last row of the plane. We the gate they were able to move me up at the last minute - but this all could've been much easier."

Nadelen: "The crew passed by me TWICE while serving food and I was not sleeping at that time. I had to go and ask for food myself. Also there was a delay about 40 minutes when taking off in CPH (CPH-EWR) because of a fuel-screen malfunction or smth. The pilot was very nice and kept us informed all the time. I still didn't make my connection flight due to the delay and SAS rebooked me which made my already long trip 8 hrs longer."

Voordelen: "Le personnel de bord a été très agréable et professionnel. L'embarquement à Stockholm est très bien fait et il n'y a pas de perte de temps."
Nadelen: "Par contre, c'est une seule boisson par personne le reste est payant, les repas sont très moyens et le système de divertissement est très très mauvais. Les contenus sont vieux et l'application est très lente et pa réactive du tout."

Nadelen: "Planes are old. No conveniences at all - none. Charged for one piece of luggage (my only piece) at the gate. Security process extremely slow. 1.5 hours early to airport and I made it on board by 9 mins. There plane sat for 20 mins on runway before departing."

Nadelen: "We paid $90 per checked bag. When we purchased our tickets we were never given an option to purchase luggage ahead of time, we were under the impression that luggage was included."

Voordelen: "Had to pay USD 75/bag which was not clear when I booked the ticket. You have to inform the customer about these rukes."

Voordelen: "At least on long-haul flights SAS Plus is quite nice, much closer to business class service than your usual premium economy offering. Real silverware, good drinks, pretty good food, plenty of space and a nice blanket and pillow. The lounge in Copenhagen is quite nice too."

Voordelen: "I felt valued. The plane was clean and in good condition. The flight crew and attendants were very professional and took good care of the passengers. It was a quiet and stress-free travel experience."
Nadelen: "Can't think of a single thing."

Nadelen: "70euro baggage fee at counter check in while flying on SAS. The same fee is 13 Euro if is bag selected at the time of ticket booking. kayak never gave me the option."

Nadelen: "1) on the plane, they announced a choice of two meals and I enquired why did I get one without choice and they told me the second choice was an option only for 'economy plus' !! That was a rude situation....I felt cheated and then insulted . 2) CPH - Nice : The breakfast or the included orange drink gave me an upset stomach and bad case of Hemorroides. 3) I accepted a glass of tomatoe juice and when I asked for a coke with my lunch , the stewardess said I had only right to one drink and would have to pay the rest....really ? - wine used to be free and now a glass costs $4...really ?? 4) I arrived at CPH airport for my transfer .. the flight was yet not on the screen but no one gave any instruction and no officials of any kind were around to enquire....a cleaning crew finally directed me correctly. 5) the security line in New York to board was ridiculously long...someone shouted to take off our smelly shoes...really ?? 6) most were directed to the right with four snaking unending lines to one security check . From time to time others were directly directed ed to the left where there was no line and option of two security checks. Half way through my wait , most were directed to the left and all who were 'late', were let out first to their gate. The whole experience before, on the plane and after was not worth the money...least of all a pleasant one."

Nadelen: "A very dishonest experience. The booking never made it clear that I was not allowed to check my suitcase and I had to pay € 70 extra both coming and going and thereby paid 1 1/2 times more for my suitcase than for my ticket. I am very disappointed to be 'tricked' in this way and consider it a very dishonest business practice."

Nadelen: "I Had checked several times to make sure I had 2 bags included ( standard for US-EU flights) and every time. At the airport I had to pay an extra charge for my second bag which made the flight very expensive and just ruined the whole experience for me"

Nadelen: "to realise at the airport that they will charge me 70 EUR for one luggage for one way only is outrageous! it wasnt clear at all that there wasnt luggage included in the price of the ticket... all of my previous tickets bought via kayak and priceline were also with luggage included and we have understood the given price as including luggage! i find it very negative and very bad experience and feel robbed, this is not acceptable business approach. my suggestion is that you will refund me the extra cost for the luggage. thank you."

Voordelen: "I'm a super nervous flyer, and SAS did an awesome job with customer service, in flight service, the food was delicious and the drinks were great! I'll be sticking with SAS for future flights."

Nadelen: "I could not check in online for this leg of the trip and so could not simply go to a baggage drop line. The company handling checkin dealt with 4 or 5 airlines. It was not clear from iceland air website that i had to checkin with SAS. First stood in line for iceland air then had to go stand in line again for company handling SAS. Spent way too much time online doing this. Otherwise trip was fine."

Voordelen: "Crew was very pleasant. Short flight, so no food was served."
Nadelen: "Seats are a little tight."

Voordelen: "I liked the service once we left Dublin but once it was time to arrive to Leeds everything went downhill."
Nadelen: "Our flight did not land to Leeds but to Manchester. I thought this would not be an issue to get my connecting flight to London. As I tried to explain to the airline attendants about my connecting flight they had no idea what was going on and said it wasn't their issue I would have to go to Leeds and explain to them what was happening. I asked if there was a way we could call them and see if I could just get a flight to London from Manchester. They said no. I tried to get a number to call myself still nothing. They sent everyone from the flight onto a coach bus to Leeds. Once I arrived to Leeds, I spoke with Ben and explained my situation. He said there were no more flights to London or anywhere near there. And there wasn't any flights to Austin, TX which was my end point either. He explained there wasn't anything they could do except fly me in the morning to London. I agreed but then come to find out he had to send me back to Manchester. Now I had already had my arrangements to stay in London for the night so I did not have much money left. He said they would take care of the accommodations and the flight to London. I was VERY PATIENT. Within this he was telling me how close they were to closing. I explained I needed everything in place before they even left because I was traveling alone in an unknown country or city. He arranged a cab to take me back to Manchester and a hotel to stay in with dinner and breakfast available. I thought everything would get better but of course it didn't. Ben clearly knew I had my checked bag and carry on. When I'm about to board the flight to London they charged me 60 pounds for my CHECKED BAG. Now this was already included on flight to begin with if all of this had not happened. The attendant did not want to listen to my story and kept passing me to another attendant that said there's nothing they could do. I had to pay since I couldn't leave my belongings. Once i arrived to London. I had to get my bag and RECHECK IN MY BAG. AGAIN they tried to charge me for my checked bag. This time I had enough of your airline and explained it was all included in my flight and I went on a rant with the attendant. He just stared and printed out the ticket for my bag. Didn't look at the computer. Didn't even explain why it's all of sudden taken care of that I don't have to pay anymore. I had no patience to hear his excuse but just wanted to get back home. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with an airline. Frontier isn't even this unorganized. Shouldn't there be a process for these kind of situations already?"

Voordelen: "Left on time."
Nadelen: "Everything else. Utterly confusing answers to questions."

Nadelen: "Neither wi-if nor the movie system worked. Fortunately we had strong tail winds so an 8 hour flight was 6. They should have let us know while we were still in the terminal so we could purchase a book or download a movie. Beer and wine had to be purchased on an international flight. No economy plus."

Voordelen: "Food and entertainment"

Nadelen: "Rude flight personnel. We werent assigned seats by each other when we have a four year old. Personnel was rude when addressing the issue. Very rude flight attendent as well. Flights were not child friendly in regards to beverages. No apple juice or milk. We will never fly Air Lingus again."

Voordelen: "NO SECURITY CHECK FOR INBOUND FLIGHTS. What a relief!"
Nadelen: "Cramped rickety stairs, up & down to Passport control. In flight service non-existent. Tepid coffee at absurd $4.50!"

Voordelen: "Very kind, knowledgeable personnel!"

Voordelen: "The Irish accents of the people when we managed to actually get a human being on customer service. Also, the other passengers were nice. Finally, when the flight was cancelled, they did put us up a hotel with a pool. They also have a cool logo."
Nadelen: "Not only was the flight cancelled (with no clear communication or updates) but the new flights they booked for us weren't recognized by partner airlines and it was impossible to resolve the problem without their help, and no help at all was available this morning. We booked another flight on our own and assume they will pay us back. They'd better or we'll find a lawyer."

Voordelen: "Non stop service to Seattle; going through US Customs in Dublin."

Nadelen: "The flight was booked through Jetfly and I tried to change the date. I ended up losing the entire ticket. No flight, no money. I talked to Jetfly at least 8 times and they kept confusing things, delaying things, and were not very helpful which caused me to miss any available flights."

Voordelen: "Even if Aer LIngus is considered a low cost, I felt it was everything but that. The plane looked new, the board computers were modern and had the latest movies, there were charging docks for phones and even internet. We got to Orlando 30 minutes ahead of schedule, which was great!"

Nadelen: "My original flights from Dublin to London and London to Munich were cancelled. The booking agency Webjet did not inform me about the cancellation. I noticed changes to my schedule three days before the flight and requested a rebooking. The entire leg to Munich was rebooked by Webjet but again I had to call and ask for an update since they don't issue a second round of confirmation emails."

Voordelen: "Good price point. Very nice and efficient crew, greeted at boarding with pillow, blanket and water bottle. Entertainment with free movies and very nice travel info-logues on Iceland. Airline offers up to 7 day Iceland stay-overs at no extra cost. Nice legroom on the 767, and I'm 6'5"."
Nadelen: "The small personal pizzas were so-so, sandwich was pretty good. Alcoholic drinks were somewhat expensive. Reykjavik airport deplaning was via outside stairs to a bus in mild rain, but that's probably not the airline's fault."

Voordelen: "Good basic service and ontime flights. No real frills but very adequate."

Voordelen: "The overall mediocre entertainment was the best part."
Nadelen: "Bag drop took 75 minutes waiting in a line with minimal signage. The middle seat is not designed to accommodate a small backpack, let alone, my tiny, size 5 feet. There are no snacks provided (7.5 hour flight) and NO refills on WATER!!"

Voordelen: "Avion neuf, confortable et silencieux. Nous sommes partis en retard mais sommes arrivés « presque » à l’heure prėvue."
Nadelen: "La barrière de départ n’a pas été indiquée sur les écrans électroniques, et comme nous nous étions enregistrés en ligne et que nous attendions au salon où les vols ne sont pas annoncés, nous sommes arrivés tard à l’embarquement et avons presque manqué notre vol. À bord, le personnel a fait le nécessaire mais pas plus, service peu chaleureux et minimaliste. Le débarquement s’est fait avec une navette, comme à Mirabel dans le temps, et comme il n’y avait qu’une seule navette à la porte arrière, le processus a êté laborieux."

Voordelen: "They boarded the back of the plane first. The flight was on time."
Nadelen: "Checked-in online, got baggage tag from kiosk, only to find that there was no baggage drop, and everyone had to stand in line whether they had already checked-in or not. They had several airlines mixed together and no signage to tell you where to go, so people ended up in the wrong place first. Knew there would be no food, so brought snacks, only to have the crew tell us there was a person who was allergic to peanuts on the flight and we were not allowed to open our snacks because they contained peanuts."

Nadelen: "Baby in front of me and baby next to me took turns screaming during the entire trip."

Voordelen: "The flight was smooth and the service was great."
Nadelen: "Nothing to complain about"

Nadelen: "Technical difficulties boarding and unboarding. Which made it a rush to have to go back through customs in Reykjavik to board the next plane"

Nadelen: "Most long flights food or a small meal is free. However I didn't know this almost 7 hour long flight was food had to be paid for."

Nadelen: "We were delayed for two hours due to a weather delay from the day before. When we boarded our plane it was cold, and then we had to sit and wait for 45 minutes while we waited for connecting passengers. I would've preferred to be held up inside the terminal a little longer than sit on a cold plane with little communication. No water fountains at KEF"

Voordelen: "Iceland air has a good selection of entertainment and all the complimentary water you can drink. That is about the only good thing I can say about my flight."
Nadelen: "Never got a meal or even a snack on an 8 hour international flight. Seats were very uncomfortable. We took off late, connected late and you guessed it landed late. Nothing is free or complimentary with Icelandair. You get what you pay for. I hope my return flight will be better!"

Voordelen: "Great in-flight music and movies. Top notch. Friendly and quick service too."
Nadelen: "Airport in Reykjavik was awful. They had 5 or 6 flights leaving at the same time out of the same wing and so there were crowds of people standing around with no direction..."

Nadelen: "Tiny seats (average sized male here - trust - they are tiny) All food is charged (not a single piece of free food was offered; $8/sandwich) Lost luggage - I've never dealt with airline personnel (in person & over phone) that displayed such a level of apathy. Compensation ceiling: $99. They apologized about the incident as if they were sorry that it was raining that day - not losing 2 pieces of luggage and not having any means to track them. Check-in personnel: They only gave me a single luggage tag for 3 pieces of luggage - they should have given me 3. Would have made tracing lost luggage easier. Employee @ IAD told me that if I didn't show up at the boarding gate 40 minutes prior to boarding that they would remove my luggage from airplane and that I could risk losing flight (wtf?). Icelandair is one of the worst airlines I have ever flown. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They may offer rates 20% cheaper than other major carriers, but that discount accompanies a steep price. It's an airline run by inexperienced, lackluster, apathetic staff who, frankly, have no business operating an airline. If your options are flying with a major carrier vs Icelandair - and the price difference is a few hundred $: pay the extra money; you'll be glad you did. Icelandair's prices are not low enough to justify all the discomforts and liabilities which accompany them. Look elsewhere. Keep this in mind: I'm a seasoned flyer. This airlines barely ranks one notch up from Ryanair."

Nadelen: "The flight from Denver was delayed an hour. Our connecting flight in Iceland DID NOT WAIT for the seven of us. We were supposed to be in Geneva 3 hrs later but waited in iceland 7 hrs the sent to Frankfort Germany before being flown to Geneva 24 hrs after departing Denver. We had two toddlers with us. There were flights on other airlines available without delay, Icelandair had no compassion."

Voordelen: "Flight took off over an hour late even though everybody boarded and the doors were closed well before our scheduled time. This caused me to miss my connecting flight and I was rerouted. Overall, it took me an extra 9 hours to reach my destination."

Voordelen: "Nice flight attendants"
Nadelen: "No food provided for an international flight. Entertainment system did not work making the long flight seem even longer."

Nadelen: "My wife's bag did not make the plane from KEF to AMS. Still hasn't arrived 30 hours later."

Nadelen: "Depending on the seat you get (aisle, middle, or window) you either can or cannot fit anything under the seat in front of you. Each seat has different space. What I usually take wouldn't fit anywhere but the window. The middle seat space is USELESS as there is something installed that MAY give you about 6 inches from floor to it. The aisle seat's forward under space is a cube shape, so typical carry-ons won't fit there either. As I slept the whole way to Reykyavik, I don't know much about the service. The under seat space may lead me to not booking Icelandair again."

Voordelen: "Icelandair is great because your connection waits for you even if your flight is late."

Voordelen: "Nice warm blankets."
Nadelen: "45 minutes to change planes and go through customs and use the restrooms is too short."
