This is not Qatar Airways doing - New York JFK security B S, but I am sure airways companies have some say to change it."

Voordelen: "From boarding to landing, I had a great flight. Flight was from NYC to Jakarta via Doha. Flight on a b777 to Jakarta and b787 to Jakarta. Plane had plenty of legroom and nicely designed entertainment system. Service was world class. About every hour or so, a crew member would ask if we wanted drinks. Food was great, had 3 choices of entrees for each meal."

We were very disappointed about this service, we never experienced this with any other airline companies..."
Voordelen: "The flight was on time. The crew was very accommodating. The food is better than some other airlines. The entertainment provided had a lot of choices I had an 8 1/2 hour layover in Doha. They booked me a short stay in a hotel at no extra charge. This included a car and driver to and from the hotel. It was a nice hotel close to the airport."
Nadelen: "I was sitting in economy. I booked too late to get any type of upgrade for extra legroom. For Economy it was OK, but cramped and hard to get comfortable on a 13+ hour flight."

I also never get good dessert :( luckily, the cabin crew giving out food still had some other food I could eat so I just gave back my special meal which was cold and unappetizing."

It's a long haul - 16+ hours, and if you have to go economy as a 6 foot tall person, their seats recline well, seemingly better than many. You have to plan your long layovers, and they do offer assistance with hotel transfers, but they don't advertise this very clearly - so do your homework before flying!"

Nadelen: "We started out over 1 hour late. When we arrived in Heathrow we weren't able to take the aircraft to the gate, instead we had to wait for over 30 min for the bus to take us to the terminal which made me miss my connecting flight by minutes. Very frustrating"

I was waiting more than 45 minutes standing looking for a solution before i miss the flight , until finally , i called the customer service( 25 minutes waiting) in LOndon , where they explained to the boarding desk that they should check the credit card to release the ticket !!!!"
Voordelen: "Arrived 30 minutes late after problem at gate with the Jetway not retracting. Ground staff were pleasant. In-flight staff were friendly and helpful. Food was okay."
Nadelen: "Having to pay to select your seats is bargain carrier behavior. My family of four had to pay nearly $400 extra to select our seats in advance instead of having them assigned to selecting them the day of the flight. Seats were cramped and not too comfortable. I flew Air France on a previous trip to Europe and it was much more comfortable seating. The in-flight entertainment system kept freezing up and had to be reset multiple times. The touch screen (which is the method of navigation through the system) did not work. On a 5 hour flight that would be an inconvenience - on an 11 hour flight it is a bit more of a problem."
Voordelen: "The Chief Purser came over to apologize. At the end of the flight, the Captain came to me to apologize on behalf of the airline. (Too little, way too late.)"
Nadelen: "I am handicapped and the jetway was broken. British Airways took a bad situation and made it worse! Obviously they had no contingency plans and the gate agents just wan't to avoid any responsibility and started blaming the poor man who had been wheeling me all over the airport. ONLY BRITISH AIRWAYS WAS AT FAULT FOR THIS. Eventually they put me on a lift several gates away and then loaded me onto the platform lift of one of those catering trucks that deliver food to the planes and drove me to my plane. The plane door was shut and they had to bang on the door to have them open it and let me board. As a result, I personally delayed the flight (officially) 28 minutes; in reality about 40 minutes. This was one of the most embarrassing and humiliating experiences of my life; to be loaded on a plane like freight!! Is this how British Airways operates??"

Nadelen: "Every single flight (4 total) took off late and even caused us to miss a connection. On the way to Madrid from Entebbe, my luggage was mislabeled and sent to London and now is completely lost. It has been two days of a trip of having no clothes, shoes, or toiletries other than what I had on my person. And I have yet to hear from anyone with Ethiopian Airlines, only representatives from Madrid airport."
Voordelen: "I appreciated the amount of movies offered as well as its variety. I also liked how often they brought drinks and snacks. The airline crew was very helpful to passengers."
Voordelen: "Crew was helpful. I had 3 seats to myself, so yes. Seating was amazing."

Nadelen: "I wasn't looking forward to the 11 hour flight, however the 4+ hour delay was a significant inconvenience. We were on the tarmac in Abidjan for almost an hour, before we were informed that there were some technical issues. We were told it was a minor issue, until clearly it was a large enough issue as a lot of time passed by. Air stopped flowing so many passengers including myself became uncomfortably hot and dehydrated. The flight attendants only came down the aisle once with water, which was not considerate enough given that the air stopped flowing. Finally close to two hours later passengers we instructed to disembark without mention of how long the wait would be. We re-boarded the flight after about an hour and only then were informed that there was not enough power to fly the plane. Once we took off the air flow returned and the flight overall was pleasant. While safety of course is a priority, especially for a long overnight flight, communication could have been much better."
Nadelen: "Flight attendants where bothered to serve us beer, water or any other snack during he flight. I had to beg in both occasions to have my tray taken from my seat."
Voordelen: "I liked they’re fury free in flight shopping, very nice affordable pieces of jewelry and perfumes"
Nadelen: "They weighed my carryon! I haven’t seen any other airline do that before. I flew with them 3 times this year, 13 hour each flight and the entertainment was not the best. They didn’t have enough current movies or tv shows. The food was bland. Coffee cups were plastic and it burnt my finger."
Voordelen: "But no in flight entertainment on the Addis to Tel Aviv leg"

Nadelen: "Staff needs to be briefed on what an insulin pump is."
Nadelen: "Spent 10 hours in a broken seat... wouldn’t recline. Screen on next seat was broken so I couldn’t move there. Bathroom out of toilet paper and at the end of the flight there was SO MUCH TRASH AND STUFF EVERYWHERE it looked like the ground at an outside 3 day concert. I’ve never seen such a filthy plane. And the food needs improvement."

Nadelen: "The boarding in Addis was an absolute nightmare. No one could figure out where to go and when. Mombasa and Nairobi flight boarding was mixed. I've never seen anything like this. There was not enough room in the boarding area so everyone was pushing and shoving. I can't recommend Ethiopian airways to anyone after this experience."

Nadelen: "The experience from the airport to the plane to Lome was beyond troubling. If ever you are flying internationally from NYC, never fly from Newark New Jersey. Nevertheless, upon boarding the Ethiopian Airline flight to Lome that was supposed to depart at 9:15 pm, the courtesy of the flight attendants was a bit mundane. My mother and I sat on the plane for about an hour after the time of the depart before inquiring why we have no moved and the doors were closed. The flight attendant responded with, "We shall be moving shortly." The air conditioner was barely on. My mother is battling stage 3 Cancer and is an older woman so, I feared for the safety of her health in such a condition. About 30 minutes passed, and we inquired again. This time with a different flight attendant and she said she just did not know what was going on. Other people on the plane began to panic in a sense as well because like my mother and I, they too had a connecting flight to catch. The pilot did not inform the passengers of what was occurring. So, at this point, all passengers on flight ET509 had been sitting on the plane for an hour and a half. By the time we were sitting on the plane for 2 HOURS with the doors closed the pilot finally informed us that they were waiting for some paperwork. He did not apologize or give more information as to why we were sitting on the plane so long, with practically no AC, and weren't informed about when we would be pulling off. About 10 minutes later, the plane began backing up while people were still standing because they were restless with the wait especially when we had a 10-hour flight ahead of us. The pilot then got on the loudspeaker stating that we will be pulling in the air shortly and for the flight attendants to be seated. The pilot did not apologize for the inconvenience or state how long the flight would be or what time we would land in Lome, Togo. Once we were in the air, there were many safety hazards administered by both the crew and pilot. The seat belt safety information was not given, the exit areas in case of emergency were not discussed, what to do in case of an emergency, where certain equipment would be in case of illness or an emergency, and we were still not informed about the cause of the 2 hours and 15-minute delay. My mother and I consistently checked the flight tracker and it did not show the duration of our flight, our location while flying, no flight information was displayed and as hard working paying passengers we should have had all of the information and not have to continuously ask to get a slight answer. Also, I am a vegan and they did not have food for me. But there was a flight attendant who gave me extra fruit which I greatly appreciated. The flight coming back to Newark was decent, going was the major issue. I pray we are accommodated for these great inconveniences. Because to have spent almost $3,000 and receive this type of treatment is both saddening and disturbing to me."

Nadelen: "They overbooked and pushed us to later flight, later flight boarded late, on run way 2 hours, plane maintenance issue so changed aircraft—supposed to arrive 1:30pm, arrived after 10pm, gate agent erased reservation adding frequent flyer number so my seat was given to someone else and I sat finally in last row by toilet instead of with my family—then no one can find record of my return flight and Ethiopian contact number impossible to reach. Truly awful experience. I have no idea if I will have seat on return flight."

Nadelen: "The movie screen (attached to the ceiling) was broken and throught the duration of the 2h30 minute flight, mechanically lowered and raised itself nonstop, making a constant disturbing grinding noise"
Nadelen: "They lost my luggage and I had to call them every day to locate it. It took a whole week for me to have my luggage back while it was sitting in the Philadelphia Airport for 4 days waiting to be delivered to my house. On top of that no one seems to know the whereabouts of my luggage. Bad customer service. Be aware when flying with Lufthansa."

Voordelen: "Excellent friendly service on both legs of journey. CC were easily the highlight. Meals in economy were mucccch better than in business class which is mind boggling. They've got to get this element right. My biz meals looked like it was just dumped on my plate pretty embarrassing. Onboard entertainment could also be improved ...."

Nadelen: "Equipment issue-tv not working well , unable to charge my cell phone USB port not working. 2. Food on my return flight was terrible I am a vegetarian was mostly served warmed up frozen vegetable which were terrible 3. Return trip set next to noisy people, had coffee spilled on my dress, was upset and did not enjoy return trip .Grateful for flight attendants who moved me to another seat."

Voordelen: "The seats were OK but not as good as in the larger airplanes. Vegetarian option for food was good. Airplane was half empty which made moving around quite easy and nice. Flight attendents were willing to help!"
Nadelen: "Independence day is perhaps not the best movie for a flight. Only one option as there are no personal media systems."
Nadelen: "Customer service was horrible. Cancelled a trip within 24 hours of booking but put me through hours of waiting on the phone for assistance and still charged a 300 dollar fee. Our ticket was somehow suspended BY THEM so we had to call an office in a different country to unsuspeND then we were able to cancel. No help at all and kept dodging responsibility and forwarding the problem to other offices. Would book a different airline to avoid unneeded stress."
Voordelen: "The friendliness of the crew and their spirit of hospitality make this company stand our from others. Also the new aircrafts and the amenities on board are a big plus."
Nadelen: "Very very old aeroplane"
Voordelen: "I liked that we didn't have any issues and didn't crash."
Nadelen: "Food is the SAME every time! Service was not great, skipped me twice on drinks and they seemed annoyed when I asked for a water and a water refill since the cups are so small. I get that its a quick flight and they have to finish before a certain time. But service for the people in the back should be the same as those in the front."
Voordelen: "We are so tired of showing up our passports many times in the ethiopian air lines. Overall we had a very good trip and the crews were so nice."
Nadelen: "same flight crew"
Nadelen: "They had me sitting next to unaccompanied minor. They did not check on him at all. I had to go and ask them, because the child was hungry. We Could not sleep the whole flight. The wouldn't ask the parents to watch their kids."
