Nadelen: "I had paid for an upgrade to sit in the front of the cabin with extra legroom (row 14A). When I boarded a man sat it my seat. He had not paid for the upgrade, but the crew let him stay in my seat. I had asked him to social distance but he continued to sit right behind me bo matter which seat I moved to. He argued with the crew until they gave up and let him stay. They did not check his boarding pass or ask him to move to his assigned seat I found a different seat away from him but I don’t see the point in paying for extra legroom when the crew let’s people who haven’t paid for it sit it those seats. I felt harassed by the man and was very uncomfortable the whole flight. I am considering my next step, I think I should at least receive a refund for the upgrade I paid for."

Nadelen: "The boarding area was total chaos. In order to get to the gate I had to literally fight with the 100s of people who were waiting in the same area. No priority was given to family with children or elite members. Even when we complaint at the personnel we were told that “it was busy”. Usually KLM flight from Venice depart from the first floor where gates are bigger and you get straight with the finger to the airplane. Today it hasn’t been the case .... too poor service for a KLM fight"

Nadelen: "My flight was cancelled and I received an email about that after I stood in line and got put on an Air France flight direct to Chicago. I don’t know yet if I was refunded the upgrade I paid for on my connection flight to Chicago from Iceland."

Voordelen: "We arrived only about an hour late?"
Nadelen: "We boarded late which seems to be the norm for Iceland air. Usually when an airline is a few minutes late departing they try and explain why and then make up the time, but we received no explanation for the late boarding, or the even later departure, or for why we lost even more time in the air."

Voordelen: "The crew was extremely friendly. Flight got in early."
Nadelen: "Boarding was strange. Stand in a line, go through the checkpoint for "pre-boarding", stand in a disorganized group for 40 minutes in a holding area, then EVERYONE is told to board at the same time and it's a mad rush up the stairs/escalator to get on the plane. Not pleasant."

Nadelen: "La barrière de départ n’a pas été indiquée sur les écrans électroniques, et comme nous nous étions enregistrés en ligne et que nous attendions au salon où les vols ne sont pas annoncés, nous sommes arrivés tard à l’embarquement et avons presque manqué notre vol. À bord, le personnel a fait le nécessaire mais pas plus, service peu chaleureux et minimaliste. Le débarquement s’est fait avec une navette, comme à Mirabel dans le temps, et comme il n’y avait qu’une seule navette à la porte arrière, le processus a êté laborieux."

Nadelen: "I had to pay for extra luggage, because though I paid for an Economy Standard ticket which does come with checked-in baggage, there was nothing written on my ticket to prove it. I paid for the standard ticket ahead of time specifically. Although the staff were nice enough, for a struggling student, this mix-up was unacceptable. I now find myself making calls and trying to get in contact with both Kayak and Icelandair for a refund of the 88euro. I think I was particularly unlucky, because I was picked twice for special security checks, which pulled me out of the line I was waiting in while the flight was delayed, and I had to re-enter the line at the end. Though I requested window seats, I did not receive one either time (though I knew it wasn't guaranteed). The seats were also uncomfortable with a thick unadjustable headrest; and the air quality was terrible, a bit smelly and very dry. As a frequent flyer (who does fly with icelandair occasionally) this was unusual."

Nadelen: "I was not given the option to select checked baggage when I checked in online. I was then charged 176 Euros to check my bags. Then my luggage was lost. I still don’t have it. Flight was late. Iceland airport needs to enlarge their airport with more ramps, or schedule their flights in a way that they can handle the crowds better. Having to ride busses to and from the plane to terminal multiple times is exhausting."

Nadelen: "After sitting on the plane for an hour, they told us to deplane. Once deplaned, we waited for nearly 20 minutes for direction to go to baggage claim and then ticketing. Ticketing did nothing to help anyone. No hotel accommodations, no redirecting of flights, NOTHING at 9:00pm. They instructed everyone without using the computer or phone, to come back tomorrow and stated that our connecting flights would be available (even though they are not). Just had to spend $3000+ on a last minute flight because once in Iceland, I would be stuck with no connecting flight."

Nadelen: "You have to pay for ear phones, Wi-Fi and food!!!!"

Voordelen: "It didn't happen. My boarding pass had a faulty print and wouldn't scan and we missed our flight. Sleeping at JFK and missing family connections. Bad news."
Nadelen: "NO help at airport security when boarding pass wouldn't scan. LONG LINES and little help."

Nadelen: "Seats were so so, leg room was barely substantial. Iceland is expensive even on a layover. Layover was a bit more excruciating on the second leg."

Nadelen: "Boarding from the tarmack and having to carry our bags up many stairs to get on the plane! Not so nice when you are an elderly person."

Voordelen: "The flight was late, and then after we'd finally boarded, approximately 45 minutes after the intended time, they announced that they had to unload all of the baggage to find some bags for customers who were not going to make the journey. It took almost another hour to unload, locate, and reload the baggage, during which time we all just sat onboard and waited. To the pilot's credit, he was out on the tarmac w the ground crew trying to move things along, but it still was a very annoying and lengthy delay. Once we got moving, the flight was fine, and the blankets were high quality!"

Nadelen: "On the return trip, I was sat in a seat that did not have a backseat entertainment screen. Instead a funky arm lifted up from under the seat with a screen attached to it. The arm was difficult to maneuver and made it impossible for passengers in the rest of the row to get out without putting it away."

Nadelen: "We were delayed for two hours due to a weather delay from the day before. When we boarded our plane it was cold, and then we had to sit and wait for 45 minutes while we waited for connecting passengers. I would've preferred to be held up inside the terminal a little longer than sit on a cold plane with little communication. No water fountains at KEF"

Voordelen: "Enjoyed travel videos about Iceland that you could watch before arriving."

Nadelen: "On a trans-atlantic flight, a flight that is more than 4 hours, food should not cost, nor should the cost of food be exorbitantly expensive."

Voordelen: "So got a great price on a trip to London. Nice thing is you can tack on days on either side to visit Iceland. So it's like getting two vacations at one time."
Nadelen: "Look flying isn't fun anymore, plain and simple. The seats are too close together so the rows are tight. This airline is like all the others. Other than that this was fine."

Nadelen: "Terrible boarding process. No one knew where to line up or what was going on. Everyone was just standing in a line around the gate. Boarding was delayed by 20 minutes. Not one person in the crew was able to tell us why we were delayed or even where to stand. Seats were uncomfortable. Blankets were unavailable going to SEA, but available when going to KEF."

Nadelen: "Tiny seats (average sized male here - trust - they are tiny) All food is charged (not a single piece of free food was offered; $8/sandwich) Lost luggage - I've never dealt with airline personnel (in person & over phone) that displayed such a level of apathy. Compensation ceiling: $99. They apologized about the incident as if they were sorry that it was raining that day - not losing 2 pieces of luggage and not having any means to track them. Check-in personnel: They only gave me a single luggage tag for 3 pieces of luggage - they should have given me 3. Would have made tracing lost luggage easier. Employee @ IAD told me that if I didn't show up at the boarding gate 40 minutes prior to boarding that they would remove my luggage from airplane and that I could risk losing flight (wtf?). Icelandair is one of the worst airlines I have ever flown. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They may offer rates 20% cheaper than other major carriers, but that discount accompanies a steep price. It's an airline run by inexperienced, lackluster, apathetic staff who, frankly, have no business operating an airline. If your options are flying with a major carrier vs Icelandair - and the price difference is a few hundred $: pay the extra money; you'll be glad you did. Icelandair's prices are not low enough to justify all the discomforts and liabilities which accompany them. Look elsewhere. Keep this in mind: I'm a seasoned flyer. This airlines barely ranks one notch up from Ryanair."

Voordelen: "I liked getting off the plane knowing I would never use Icelandair again"
Nadelen: "There was no sense of urgency to get the plane in the air. Our connecting flight was late and we had to rush to the connection flight. When we got on board we then sat on the tarmac for an hour because the fuel truck ran out of gas on its way to fill our plane. The crew seemed to have never worked on an airplane before and the plane needed updates. Food or snacks should be provided on longer flights like other airlines."

Nadelen: "When we arrived in Reykjavik from Munich we had 45 min to make our next flight. We were able to make it to our gate in time but once we got to our gate it was a mad house. The airport is fairly small and Icelandair was trying to board 4 other flights to the states at the same time as ours. We had to push and shove to get to our gate to board. Not sure why they didn't spread out the gates of the boarding planes."

Nadelen: "This was a multi city, round trip starting out of CLT. My connection was way too close, and we missed the connection due to a mechanical problem. The lines to get vouchers were super long, and the hotel was not the best. It was way after midnight when I got to the hotel, and I did not feel safe staying at a Quality Inn. I had to walk to my room outside, and had leave in the morning in the dark as well. I was traveling alone. Please put your passengers in a better hotel, closer to the airport. I did not expect that from American Airlines."

Voordelen: "L’equipage ne répondait pas à nos questions et le service laissait à désirer. Les sièges étaient confortables mais nous avons dû se faire réassigner parce qu’on nous avait séparés sur tous les vols."

Nadelen: "All the choices to eat were laden with gluten, salt, and sugar. Surely a salad is no heavier than what they carry, but might not last as long. For those of us gluten-sensitive, watching our glucose levels, or salt intake there’s nothing. A 40 minute gate change from B29 to A11 in PHX was barely long enough to walk far less find and buy a healthy meal. Yet again I arose at 4am and had nothing to eat until after 4pm. ALL the airlines can do better."

Nous sommes restés plus de 24 h dans cet aéroport sans que nous soit proposé un hôtel. on nous a donné une couverture et un oreillé!!d'autre ont pu etre rebooké sur d'autre vols sur NY ou chicago le matin meme. Nous avons perdu une journée de travail mon époux et moi-meme. Lui a du annuler une formation impliquant 10 personnes qui venait de toute la France."

Nadelen: "Wasn't a dislike, but would have liked to board a little earlier with kids of age 5, 7, and 9. However, all was fine and staff were pleasant."

Nadelen: "Fourth roundtrip flight where I have been unable to use my upgrades to upgrade to first class on any of the four segments. What good are the upgrades?"

Voordelen: "I was taking students and we had seats all over but they rearranged so my students could sit together. It was a nice flight with a friendly crew."

Voordelen: "British Airways I feel did everything to make it as best as possible."
Nadelen: "American Airlines (British Airlines partners) are a horrible airline. My 8 am flight has a mechanical issue. Which they kept up on the plane till 11. Now no mater what other plane I catch idmiss my connection in Dallas. Which means I don’t get to Paris on time. Which ruined my plans to surprise my gf and propose to her. It took one call to British Airlines to get me rebooked. Something american was taking hours. I still won’t make it on time but at least I’ll make it. American then misplaced my luggage and it took two hours to retrieve it. Turns out it was sitting behind the counter the whole time the kept telling me it would be on the baggage flame area."

Nadelen: "Décollage en retard et arrivée avec plus de 40mn de retard Pas de classe premium eco et pas de possibilité d’avoir un espace avec un de place pour les jambes au comptoir Pour information générale , les places en économie sont très exiguës et généralement j’essaye de ne pas prendre de vol AA si je ne peux pas prendre à l’avance un siège sur les sortie de secours ce qui n’a pas été possible cette fois"
