Voordelen: "I traveled with my wife and twin sons who turned two last month. It was our first time to fly with the boys, and we were nervous about the flight for this reason. Thanks to ANA's staff both on the ground and in the air, everything went very smoothly. When we arrived at Haneda Airport (around 1:30pm), we went to the Special Assistance counter to get a stroller. The staff was friendly and patient, and didn't rush us at all. (It took a little while to get our things in order.) I was surprised to learn that we could check in from there, drop off our checked luggage and receive boarding passes, as well as an airport stroller. In addition, the boy who was awake at the time received an ANA airplane clip. We didn't get to the gate in time for pre-boarding. I was dismayed to find out that we'd have to take a bus to the aircraft. We had the maximum number of carry-on bags, plus two babies, only one of whom was in a carrier, and we learned that the stroller couldn't go on the bus. A gate agent brought our carry-ons onto the bus. She found priority seats for us and a place nearby to fit a bag that couldn't fit on one of our laps. On board, the cabin attendants were attentive and friendly, and gave toys to the boys. When we arrived at Hagi-Iwami Airport, two of them even carried all of our carry-on bags off the plane for us. (They also helped with our carry-on luggage upon returning to Tokyo. In fact, we had forgotten to reserve a stroller for when we deplaned, and a flight attendant tried to find one near the gate, to no avail.) When I think about all the positive experiences we had in a span of about three and a half hours, I am amazed at all the different people who helped to make our journey easier. I cannot imagine it happening in my home country or on most airlines I have flown."
Nadelen: "Only the fact that we had to take a bus to the aircraft at Haneda, but the gate agents made it very easy for us."

Nadelen: "The seats in economy are ok and not a good comfortable seat.. and needs improvement on food menu choices. But no problem boarding, the attendants are courteous and nice.."

Voordelen: "The crews on ANA (Flight Attendants) are the hardest working, most polite and service oriented of ANY carrier I can remember. When the cabin lights are ON, the crew is hustling to keep the passengers occupied and chewing. Free Beer, Wine and mixed drinks in Coach! Every Service - Snack, Drinks, Lunch, Dinner, Coffee/Tea, Second and Third rounds of drinks includes a cold towel to wipe your face and hands and most important, trash is collected promptly EVERY single time. WOW. I noticed that Flight Attendants take notes on sleeping passengers for every major meal service, and they take the time to revisit those customers when awake to check they might have wanted to be fed. I also noticed that the crew has special double sided tape to pickup crumbs and spills in the aisles so grime is not tracked into the carpet. Dont be surprized to see a flight attendant cruising the aisle after dinner with a soft cooler full of small vanilla Hagen Daz cups..."
Nadelen: "We flew from Bangkok to Washington Dulles with a connection in Tokyo. Snow in Japan caused crew shifts to max out and ultimately a dramatic change in flight departure. (Guaranteeing a missed connection) This caused multiple downstream challenges. 1. Original flight was scheduled for 00:30. (Half Past Midnight), rescheduled flight was scheduled for 12:30 (Half Past Noon) For Americans unused to a 24 hour clock, this made emails From ANA very difficult to wrap your mind around. Was it a typo? What happens when you miss your connection? (Turns out weather delays do NOT result in accommodations or meals being provided) Rescheduled flight should have been for 1231 with (AM/PM in Parentheses) 2. For passengers who spent their vacation/trip near the equator, the prospect of spending the night in snowbound Tokyo was simply not addressed in the cancellation email. The better option was to stay in your original point of origin and make the connection in one day, but email has NO telephone number for passengers to call to make these arrangements. (We ended up calling a toll California telephone number to be sure we got an English speaking agent) 3. Many SE Asian departing cities have a crazy baggage weight policy that allows for Two bags of 25 Kilos each , but if you have a single bag that weights 32 Kilos, you must pay excess baggage. Although the policy may NOT be specific to ANA, there are hundreds of folks of all nationalities repacking suitcases on the floor of the airport, to try to meet the regulations. As a traveler I understand this, but as an ANA customer it makes no sense, especially when the ticket agent cannot charge the overage to a credit card at the ticket counter. Instead sending you to a different location then waiting for you to return with a receipt. Its a huge scam and ANA can do better communicating the rules to passengers via email or their web site. Nothing starts a long trip off worse than arguments over arcane rules. 4. Changing a return flight arrangement as a result of weather happens at the last moment, but seat assignments apparently could not keep up. I would rather NOT fly than face a center seat in coach for 14 hours. I cannot explain what happened, but repeated attempts at advance check in showed NO assigned seats available, the ticket and gate agents could not improve on this, but BOTH flights ended up having empty seats and in the end we stressed for nothing. ANA must be able to do better, improving their IT systems to make advance seat assignments possible no matter how challenging the problem of "equipment" and other changes in the face of a canceled flight."

Nadelen: "Food was too smelly. Good quality, but airplane food cannot be smelly or it get really unpleasant inside the cabin. Flight attendant need to learn and practice English. Very difficult to understand."

Nadelen: "Two key issues: 1. Split up seating 2. Required to pick up and check baggage with limited time due to customs check. 1. They split up all four of our seats (despite booking more than 30 days in advance). Our seven (7) year old daughter was by her self. So was our fifteen (15) year old son. When we addressed it to baggage check (part of major issue number 2), they put two seats together, across an aisle, with both children in them. We obviously just sat one of the adults with the seven year old. This was not just us. SEVERAL families had children seated alone and spread all over the plane. ANA needs to require grouped seating for children under thirteen (13) years old with an adult. 2. Tokyo Haneda is the only airport I can think of where I have to pick up and check baggage again just to clear customs. The flights were 1 hour and 45 minutes apart. With nearly an hour dedicated to getting baggage claimed and getting through customs, we barely had time to fix two of our split seats (see issue 1) and rush via a free bus route that took 6 minutes (luckily we were first stop) to get us to domestic terminal 2. We were then lucky again because we made it through security quickly and our gate happened to be right next to the security check we chose. Another side piece: Haneda Domestic Terminal 2 has four security check areas (A-D). We saw no identifying marks indicating which were closest to which gate. Our bags have already been through a bag check process. Feel free to run them through security scans. Don’t make us wait to collect them just to walk them through the customs desk and check them again."

Voordelen: "On time. Flight attendants don't shy away from helping passengers put their carryons in the cabin compartments. They were there in a split seconf to assist you - ANA flight attendants only. Food was great in ANA airlines. Toilet is clean. Boardinh was orderly."

Voordelen: "Everything.. the crew was so gracious and kind even tho the delay was out their control. they even gave us 30,000 Yen or $260 approximately, which they didn’t have to do. i will start flyin ANA... not because of the money, but because of the delay... which no American carrier would have done and would’ve given excuse after excuse."

Voordelen: "Attentive, very prompt when I indicated that there was condensation drip from the cabin roof. Vegan/vegetarian food was well prepared and staff were very knowledgeable with food choices and options."

Nadelen: "Tray is too small and not able to use the entertainment system because it is too short for a tall person. I would be staring down the entire time."

Voordelen: "After flying domestic flights on US carriers, the idea of getting two meals and free drinks is almost shocking. Even more so when the food (though very Japanese) was quite good quality in economy. If you have to spend 10 hours or more crossing an ocean ANA is certainly a good bet, at least if you don't mind a bento box style meal."

Also I will be happy to fly ANA again, but I would not take a redeye flight on any airline unless I was in business or first class which I cannot reasonably afford at the moment."

Nadelen: "Flight was moved to6 am, 4 hours earlier than scheduled. Found out less than 24 hours before flight. ANA refused to rebook on an available flight leaving at the original time. Disappointed (and tired)."

Nadelen: "I usually take an aisle seat, but it was not available this time. Furthermore, my ajacent passenger to my right hand side had cold and often coughed and I myseld caught cold from him during this flight...."

Nadelen: "For some reason, other countries do not use a number system when boarding. This often means if you're not paying attention, you could be the last to board the aircraft because a line will form almost out of thin air. Minor issue, but a systematic boarding procedure would be good."

I found that the level of recline (120 degrees) made my back ache and it just wasn’t comfortable. I’ve flown this flight several times now and this is an issue for me. I’d like to arrive refreshed"

Voordelen: "Boeing 777 had an upgrade on the video display software, making for a more manageable video experience. It's easier to navigate because of the ability to close screens and go back to the screen you were on, rather than having to start over each time."
Nadelen: "I received a polite e-mail and a text message an hour or two later indicating that my flight from Taipei to HongKong had been delayed. It took a login to the Cathay Pacific web site to figure out that with the rescheduled time, I would miss my connecting flight from HongKong to Boston if I didn't change anything. I managed to sort it out, though it took using my cell phone to place an international call to the HongKong Cathay Pacific office to get me on an earlier flight. I don't think this is an acceptable level of service -- had I not had WiFi access or an international capable cell phone, I would have been stranded in Taipei or HongKong an extra day. I think CP could have done more to notify and help remediate the situation knowing the implication of the rescheduled flight. Food also remains mediocre, though slightly better."

Voordelen: "The service from start to finish was superb. The flight to Hong Kong had the on board attendants at full service the whole journey. Blankets and pillows were supplied as standard and plenty of complimentary food. There was a genuine sense that the on board attendants wanted you to be as comfortable as possible."
Nadelen: "I can't think of anything really. Perhaps the seats could have slightly more leg room but hey. What can you expect from economy."

Voordelen: "Comfortable Economy class on A330. Adequate seating and a good breakfast pastry for a short duration flight."
Nadelen: "Older entertainment system but not a big issue on a short flight."

Voordelen: "The flight attendants in the airplane, both going and coming back to my destination were very nice. I really appreciated their hard work and attentiveness."
Nadelen: "At the HK airport the lady attending the check in, I believe her name is Tammy, I could not understand exactly what she was asking me to do because her voice was so low and her English was not clear. When I did not comply to what she was asking she very rudely did what she was asking me to do yet I could not hear or understand her. She even rolled her eyes. Very uncalled for and rude."

Voordelen: "Overalll the flight was okay and the company crew is very helpful!"
Nadelen: "The only problem is if you need to go in the first flight at 6am to Hong-Kong.... they will only open the check in at 4:30 and usually you find a big waiting line. You won’t have time to do anything stead check in, go directly to inspection, after to migration to finally go straight ahead to the gate to hopefully have time to enter in the flight... to tide"

Voordelen: "Good service"
Nadelen: "Seat is hard to adjust."

Voordelen: "Plane left almost 2 hours late otherwise everything was excellent."

Voordelen: "There is actually meal between hkg and TPE. This is new."
Nadelen: "The cabin is just too warm."

Nadelen: "Flight delayed by 4 hrs. Food was horrendous."

Voordelen: "Arrived 40 minutes ahead of scheduled arrival time. Food and drinks on board were above expectation compared to other airlines like KLM, China Southern. Cathay delivered a smooth and great service throughout this trip as per usual."

Nadelen: "In Canton (Guangzhou) aangekomen was er een zeer lamé wachttijd bij de douane van ongeveer anderhalve uur voordat ik aan de beurt was. Dit heeft verder niets met Cathay te maken maar wel met de vluchthaven."

Voordelen: "Vriendelijkheid en flexibiliteit personeel, goeie app van Cathay en keurige aansluiting op vervolgvluxht."

Voordelen: "Great service attitude. Friendly with smile. Love their service"
Nadelen: "A short flight with just snacks. Seems downgraded the international flight standard."

Nadelen: "Our laugage is delay, service is worse than we never see."

Voordelen: "Via scherm goede vlucht info. Waar je je bevond op de wereld in mooie animatie. Camera's naar voren en op de staart. Prachtig."

Voordelen: "Veel ruimte, fijne zit, goede info waar je hè op welk moment bevind. Veel films te kijken."
Nadelen: "Niets"

Voordelen: "Comfortable seating, good tasting meals, and excellent service!"
Nadelen: "Not a thing! Everything was really great!"

Voordelen: "Very nice crew and stuff , clean plane, clean facilities. Everything is superb."

Nadelen: "My son did not do well with the food on the trip. He became ill. The food did not smell particularly delicious."

Voordelen: "I fly CP to Bangkok because they have best schedule and shortest trip from Hong Kong to Bangkok - have flown 15+ times"
Nadelen: "The food is AWFUL - the menu is geared to chinese (I guess) and the flavors are undesirable but I don't fly for the food; the english entertainment selection is limited but adequate"

Voordelen: "My son enjoyed the flight and the worker where very nice to him."

Voordelen: "Only complaint was the disembarking routine. They emptied all of business and first before coach could even begin to leave the coach cabin. I am all in favor of giving business and first preference in getting off the plane, but this was just too much, waiting for the slowest person in business to get off before a single person could leave the coach cabin."

Voordelen: "Easy check in, and a pleasant flight! Thank You!!!"

Voordelen: "We were really taken care of and had a great experience. From the cleanliness of the plane, to the kind staff and generous in flight services/accommodations, we were very pleased. We look forward to flying Cathay Pacific again!"

Voordelen: "For flying economy for 15 hours I can't imagine it gets much better. The food was great, the entertainment was great as well. The staff was quick to do anything you asked. While you don't have all the space in the world, you're still not packed in like on US domestic flights."

Nadelen: "the last leg, Istanbul to DC was completely full. i was seating at the back (33K). after the meal, i wanted to recline and the man behind me started yelling as he has water on his table. i apologized and asked if i can recline the seat and he yelled again and said i cannot recline my seat. i talked to the flight attendant and she wanted to move me to a middle seat. i declined and eventually the man said i can recline my seat. but i mean, seriously, i got yelled at for trying to recline my seat and got no apologies from anyone."

Nadelen: "Missed this flight due a layover and had to wait in the airport overnight."

Nadelen: "Bagage non reçu. Un bagage sur 10 bagages, quelle mauvaise organisation"

Voordelen: "The flying smooth, staff pleasant"
Nadelen: "No charging points, chairs not reclining, plane too small, toilets to far back. Didn't like the plane at all."

Voordelen: "Great choice of recently released movies."

Voordelen: "L'organisation."
Nadelen: "L'équipage ne fais pas d'effort pour comprendre ce qu'on lui demande dans une autre langue à part l'anglais. C'est un vol international et je pense que c'est important de parler français aussi."

Voordelen: "Boarding and arrival was on time."
Nadelen: "Crew unprofessional, gave my vegan sister a chicken sandwich, forgot to serve some guests, they were unpolite and inpatient."

Voordelen: "The friendliness and the ease of flying alone."

Voordelen: "On the plus side, the food, service, entertainment, and comfort on Turkish are the best of any Economy class overseas flights. For that reason, they are my top pick."
Nadelen: "I can't understand why I was booked with an impossibly tight connection. It's a huge airport, with multiple security checkpoints with long lines. I had an hour between flights, and the first flight landed just five minutes late. The gate for the second flight had already closed by the time I cleared the first security checkpoint. It would have been completely impossible to make it to the gate on time. Turkish put me up in a hotel, etc., for the night, and there were dozens of people in similar situations. But the airline shouldn't offer connections that are totally impossible."

Nadelen: "The staff was not great. An issue with a first class customers made them move around economy customers like they ' really not even people but utilities, all that for that one person. If they would have informed and talked with the other customers that would have been fine but being treated like a piece of furniture isn't nice. Plus, continuous strikes in Belgium see a joke, check-in luggages delayed for plenty of airlines. This country doesn't even know what strike mean anymore being so often..."

Nadelen: "AC is on initially, then it gets really hot and uncomfortable after the first meal service. i asked a CA if she could help, but the temperature didn't change. This was the pattern for all 4 flights I took recently. Everything else was great though!"

Voordelen: "І was a passenger with your wonderful Airlines from IST to IAD last week Nov 3rd 2017 and because of misunderstanding and conflict with captain my flight was canceled by him. І don’t remember his name correctly but it was five letters and both vowels (2,4) were “E”. Could you please to let him know that І would like to apologize for my behavior and assure him that it was nothing against him but more about hormonal issues which І believe every woman has more or less during the pregnancy. It is a really big issue for me and my body now. Once again, І do apologize for my actions and that conflict. І didn’t mean it."

Voordelen: "Even though I had two different bookings for connections, since they were all handled by them, they offered me to send my lugagge to the final destination"
Nadelen: "In all the flights I took with them (7 so far), Service was reactive, not proactive. In fact, there was one time in which I asked for some water in a long flight (because they dont offer from time to time as other companies do, and I was truly polite in my request) and the guy from the crew told me 'please go and fetch'. I had to point these two huge guys sleeping next to me I had no relation with (I was at the window seat) for him to realize that he was being ridiculous."

Nadelen: "Here is a recommendation. When your business class is empty, and by empty I mean nobody was there, use the available seats or some of them to upgrade some of your loyal travelers. Also, when your business class is empty there is no need to draw the curtains, unless you have something to hide. Your personnel was not in the mood to work today."

Voordelen: "Merci à Turkish Airlines"

Voordelen: "Short flight-everything fine. Great plane."
Nadelen: "Having to pay for internet if you want to use it. The way Israelis queue at the airport, leaving no room between you and them...too much pressure. Strange 'breakfast"."

Nadelen: "Food: they gave you a menu so you can pick up an option (by half way through lunch service they run out of one of the options) They also didn't provide enough water, it's a transatlantic flight! Few options for beverages. Boarding: messy. You have a seating section for a reason (besides pricing). Also connecting flights from IST to the US are horrible. Four point checks and manual screening."

Nadelen: "Vol a des heures invraisemblalbles 3:45AM Attente interminable dans bus surchauffé, alors que l aeroport est vide et plein de passerelles sont libres. Turkish economise des droits d aeroports sur le dos de sa clientele Personnel de l aeroport ne fait que taper la discute entre eux alors que la clientele n en peut plus d attendre.."

Nadelen: "To whom this may concern: I am writing to express my absolute dissatisfaction and poor experience with the customer service and lack of working amenities on flight #TK11 leaving Istanbul into New York City, JFK. It was sadly a horrible ending to my trip and left me with a very unfortunate impression of Turkish Airlines. Less than an hour into the flight I spoke with a flight attendant making him aware that the USB port was not working so I was unable to charge my phone the entire flight. In addition, the wifi was not working. This is a huge problem because I planned on working remotely that day and my job was under the same presumption. The attendant blamed my phone and did not take my word that I was unable to connect until I insisted further and another passenger in front of me turned to my rescue and agreed with me stating the wifi was spotty and only worked for a short period of time until ultimately shutting off. The attendant did not apologize but said he would check on the port and the wifi and would get back to me. I followed up several times and he fed me the same lines until I grew frustrated that I was being completely ignored all while losing a day's work. During the last 20 minutes of the flight I decided to finally walk to the back of the plane and follow up for the last time with someone else. I explained the situation to the other attendant who seemed as though this was the first time he was hearing about this issue and he spoke to his chief who gave me a customer feedback form to fill out. No one offered me a different window seat to fix the port problem or even Miles Plus points for the inconvenience even though I requested it. I have never felt more disrespected and dismissed on a flight before this experience. As a star alliance member (CX765361), I frequently fly for work and personal trips and out of loyalty and assurance that I would be able to fulfill my work duties remotely given the features this airline promotes. I chose Turkish Airlines because it was apart of this program. This experience did not uphold the company's reputation and by flying with Turkish Airlines I completely missed a full day's work, deadlines and was behind when I physically returned to work. For the inconvenience, stress, disrespect and empty promises, I am requesting that Turkish Airlines reimburse me the portion of that flight. Best, Rachael"
