Nadelen: "Checking in with Japan Airlines was a serious hassle. I had my e-ticket but they kept asking me if I had already paid. The flight was apparently overbooked but than at the last minute, they gave me and my girlfriend seats separated from each other. I sat in the back, she sat in front. The tickets also had trouble scanning and kayak isn't a known agency."

Voordelen: "The stewardess of the flight from LA to Osaka was awesome , I don't remember her exactly name , I think she is older then other crew members working that day on economy class . She was very professional , serving customer with the best she can. Always smiles. I feel good whenever I see her walks by, smile and very professional When the meal was serve but they only had one dish to choose instead of two ( I guess that day Chicken Masala dish was high on demand so there are only Japanese dish left) she said we are so sorry with a very sincere gesture , I chose Japanese food because I like Japanese food anyway , she politely thanks me for my choice and later bring a bag of small mix snack for me and said thank you for being flexible . Later on, when we getting off the airplane she even helped me to stroll my carry on out to the airplane because I was carry too many stuffs with me and my daughter being so tired of the long flight so I have to comforted my daughter . The stewardess saw that and helping me a hand . I wish every airlines has someone like this crew member . Thank you so much for the awesome service on Japan Airlines."

Voordelen: "I feel like I got way more than what I paid for with this airline! The hostesses were super friendly always offering some sort of beverage, the food was tasty (Be careful not to drop noodles on yourself like I did, those bad boys left a little mark). The video selection wasn't huge, but it was definitely adequate with good titles. Maybe I haven't noticed this before in other airlines, but they had new toothbrushes (packaged, not someone's forgotten toothbrush) in the restroom so the poor sap next to me didn't have to smell my stinky breath. Finally, they were quick with boarding! They were very punctual and we took off right when we got on, so nice!"
Nadelen: "The seats were pretty adequately sized, however, I felt like I couldn't lay back too far or if the the person in front of me did, it made it really difficult to get the seats. Also, I thought it was my headphones, but it happened on a couple of flights with different headphones, but the audio only comes out of one earphone which was slightly annoying... Other than those things, JAL is super solid and I would recommend it to anyone considering them."

Voordelen: "The flight attendants are quick in services and with great manner. Cabin foods are generous, filled with variety and tasting the best among various international airlines that I have experienced between LAX and Taipei, Taiwan in the past ten years. The seat belt on light and bell were kept at minimal, in contrast to other airlines like EVA, China Airlines, Korean Airlines and United Airlines."

Voordelen: "What sets JAL apart is the quality of service both on the ground and in the air. As customers, even in economy, no request was too minor to be treated as the most important of the day. Both legs were on time, the meals were excellent, and the chouce of movies was more than adequate. I will fly with JAL again."

Voordelen: "L'équipage est très avenant et n'hésite pas à parler un anglais compréhensible pour les étrangers. Mes deux vols n'étaient que de 45min mais nous avons eu droit à un accès wifi et une collation (boissons). Ponctuel et pilotage souple."

Nadelen: "I didn't like that the crew at check-in and the crew on the plane told me different things. The crew at check-in told me I could keep my purse with me, and the crew on the airline told me I had to put it overhead. Please be consistent! Flying is very stressful for me, and I want the staff to make it as stress-free as possible. As for boarding, I wasn't allowed into the gate until an hour before. What really bothered me was that they had already let some people into the gate and shut some other people out. Either let people in or don't. Don't follow the rules halfway because then they won't mean anything. I was very shocked by this and have never experienced this at any airline before. All I wanted to do was sit down and relax at the gate before boarding. If this ever happened to me again, I would not fly with the same airlines. To think that this was a JAL flight, with such a high reputation of customer service, makes me even more wary of booking a flight with JAL. I didn't appreciate being treated that way, and I will not tolerate it if it happens again."

Nothing can the counter do till i've to call kayak/flight network. One hour conversation from malaysia to canada. What a wast & replace me with air china. Stupid kayak & flight network."

Yeah my flight was delay by 3 hours for reasons out of their control and I missed my connecting flight but they completely made up for it. The food and drinks were really good along with the service. Plus they booked me on another flight along with a hotel for the night. Awesome service and experience, I would travel with them again."

Nadelen: "Checking in 48 hrs in advance with no aisles or windows seats for selection. Being stuck in the middle seat 26F for 9 hours. Discovered in LAX that my luggage tags were improperly tagged in TPE. I had someone else's luggage tags on my bags going From TPE to KIX to LAX to Houston instead TPE - KIX- LAX- Austin."

Voordelen: "The crew on Japan Airlines are exemplary! Very efficient, polite & service with a genuine smile made this a very pleasant trip. Also, I had recalled on a flight I had taken a long time ago, how impressed I was at how clean the restrooms were maintained. Well, the high standard has not changed. Very impressed & looking forward to our return flight home."

Voordelen: "The plane landed on time and I was able to get my checked bag in 10 minutes...plenty of time to catch an airport limousine bus and get me home to Kobe an hour before I expected to. JAL has great domestic connection service at Haneda and you don't need to go through security again once you clear security at the international terminal to board the shuttle to the domestic terminal."

Nadelen: "Everything. Singapore Airlines had a great reputation. Imagine my disappointment. It was a horrible flight. The crew was nice enough, but inattentive. The food, if such a term may be applied here, was inedible. Just vile. In flight entertainment was a complete joke. Boarding was awful, but it always is. Seats were extremely uncomfortable. This racket is the ultimate way to rip somebody off of $1000. Horrible."

Nadelen: "without any possibility to call back. or to call again while being late, when arrived with plenty of time before departure. nobody was on the gate. when tryed to do all myself whithin minutes tsa didnt bother to speedup process and it took forever. i missed my flight literally in seconds."

Nadelen: "Screaming children. Totally clueless, rude flight crew. Next time kids are screaming for three hours straight on a red eye, maybe offer the parents some assistance. Makes the “perks” like hot towels seem ridiculous when staff are completely indifferent."

Even the seatback pockets are better with multiple pockets including one that fits most mobile phones. The windows turn tinted blue instead of drawing shades down—what?!"

Voordelen: "The presence and attitude of the flight attendants were highly pleasant and accommodating. The entire flight was very comfortable and made the 9 hour journey from Manchester to Houston Texas fast and enjoyable. The flight attendants always had a wonderful smile which felt genuine many a time and always made an effort to speak at the level of the passenger. When I had trouble connecting to the Wifi, one attendant even knelt down and connected my phone manually as I was not tech savvy in this regard. The food was of much higher quality as well compared to other airlines I traveled with on this trip."
Nadelen: "Really the only issue was there was a 2 hour delay on departure, however this was due to issues out of control of the airline and I did not mind as the airline's ambience and my experience with it overshadowed any delays."

I had to pay thousands for new flight Austrian Air. Swiss thieved my money and I dont mind saying so. Unfair and unfair conduct. I am saving this letter for twitter to tell my friends of my disgust. I will be happy if this is sorted refunded immediately. A copy of these details and medical letter already provided to Jithendra from flight network (online travel agent)."

Nadelen: "I have started taking SQ instead of budget airlines hoping for good service and on time travel. However, both times travelling from SQ from jakarta was delayed. Yesterday, I got home 1.5hrs later than I should have. I have also to pay for additional surcharge due to midnight cab fare. Further, when I wsa travelling to Jakarta - none of the inflight entertainment was working. So it has been disappointing."

Voordelen: "This was probably the best check-in I had. The ground attendant was extremely friendly and helpful. She kindly moved me to the exit seat and made sure I was sitting in aisle seats for the rest of my three flights. All until boarding the process was quick and breezy. In flight, the attendants were professional and friendly. Always smiling and helpful. The entertainment section and food were superb."
Nadelen: "The only negative thing was that boarding of this flight was late and the gates were switched about 40 minutes before boarding. This was due to the fact that the plane arrived a bit late. None the less, we arrived to Singapore on time and everyone made their flights."

Nadelen: "My flight to Narita was fabulous, so I was surprised to find the return flight home filled with a condescending crew, terrible food, and a broken entertainment system. We had requested a Muslim meal on the previous flight, but the food was so spicy and smelly that we chose to go with the normal faire on the way back. I changed it on the website when I checked in online but when we arrived at the airport we were informed that the meal was still set as a muslim meal. The representative at the baggage counter called the plane and made sure that it was changed back to a normal meal. However, when it was dinner time we were presented with muslim meals. When we spoke to the head airhost to request a normal meal he said that they only carried a specific number and an leftover meals were for the crew only and that we had to eat the muslim meals or have sandwiches. We requested the sandwiches - the muslim meal was too spicy and had made us sick before. The "sandwiches" were pretty much two slabs of dry bread with some mayo slapped on. Disgusting and dry. I wish they could have made an exception for us or provided us with something edible. It was a long flight and we were starving by the time breakfast rolled around. The crew was condescending and cold. My entertainment system lacked functionality; some of the buttons on my remote were broken."

Nadelen: "Obe of the flight attendants was a little inconsiderate-even of her co-workers. I've never seen that on a flight before. Also, both of our flights were delayed, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but to have it happen two times in a row makes me question whether I could use this airline when I have a short layover."

Also for a 14 hour flight there needs to be bottles of water handed out and someone should be on board to clean the rest rooms half way thru the trip"

Nadelen: "Despite premium price, seat selection was not available unless you pay extra; Family of 4 dispersed and given only middle seats except one aisle seat; But that seat couldn't recline. Complained and asked how A380 seat with 16+ hour flight wasn't reported earlier. Crew admitted there's a log about seat 63C (EK215 DXB-LAX Jan 7) but Airline chose to ignore it! Crew was apologetic but was offering me free drink (almost seemed like bribe). One of the checked bags torn when we collected it at LAX; Overall, pretty bad but most annoying is the fact that they nickel & dime for seat position and lot of families were spread all over (not just mine)."

Voordelen: "Check-in , immigration and security experience at Dubai was very efficient via the business class terminal."
Nadelen: "Old business class arrangement for this route seems very outdated conpared compared to the newer fleet; was not worth the extra upgrade fee."

Nadelen: "2 hour delay at DFW because other flights de icing Diverted in mid Atlantic to Dublin because of problems with toilets. Waited 2-3 hours there. Missed connecting flight from Dubai to BLR. Only good thing was that Emirates gave me a boarding pass to a later flight and a meal voucher that was accepted with bad grace by the barista at terminal B Costas. Two of the meal voucher choices Cozi & Burger King had gone out of business!"

Nadelen: "This is the first time it's happened to me, but I was scheduled to leave Oslo on Wednesday, but Emirates cancelled my flight and put me on the next one. It would have been alright had they offered some sort of compensation or made it up to me in one way or another, but that was not going to happen. They cancelled and the cost was on me (as per the T's & C's I was told) and that was pretty much that. Here's a hint, it seems like their Scandinavian flights are underperforming and in a cost saving effort, they're randomly cancelling flights. I subsequently found out they did it to someone else in the area causing them to miss two days of a pre-booked vacation. So, if they cancel, it's going to cost you a lot more in a city like Oslo to wait a day - not to mention the costs involved in missing work or vacation, so maybe shop around then. I still like Emirates, but I'm feeling a little burnt after this episode."

This did not happen on the return flight from Hong Kong. Further, at one point we were rousted from the waiting room and made to go through a second inspection, having are bags searched again, and having random people go through especially invasive searches. Very unpleasant and unnerving as we were given no reason for this."

They were more transactional in wanting to just do the basics of their jobs and not go beyond - unlike singapore airlines, Turkish airlines, or emirates."

Nadelen: "For the first time in thirteen years traveling with my guitar, I was forced to check in my guitar, potentially in violation of the US Department of Transportation's rule on musical instruments. While my guitar thankfully arrived in good condition, this caused an unnecessary amount of stress in my 24 total hours of travel. I'd highly advise Cathay Pacific to revise their inflexible stance towards musical instruments, as many passengers brought carry-on bags which were much larger than my guitar in its case."

Voordelen: "We were really taken care of and had a great experience. From the cleanliness of the plane, to the kind staff and generous in flight services/accommodations, we were very pleased. We look forward to flying Cathay Pacific again!"

This much appreciated, but I wondered why a restaurant worker was doing this, not airline staff. Being delayed into Osaka, the captain kindly told us that buses were arranged. Good! I thought, until the organization was seen. Ground staff were no where to be seen. Eventually found them huddled at one arrival gate directling passengers to buses. Other passengers at the other arrival gate similarly swirling around without info or help. staff unhelpful, rude, uncaring. SHOCKED by level of incompetence."

Nadelen: "There was literally a "crazy man" on our flight. The flight attendants were having a hard time controlling him. He was climbing over seats, yelling at people, etc. My husband is a US Marshall, he finally got up and identified himself with his badge to the flight attendants and asked if they would like him to assist. He helped try and talk the crazy man down. So basically my husband was on guard for the whole flight, we couldn't sleep at all as he was watching and helping with the lunatic on the plane. When we landed, the police escorted the man off the flight and the head attendant said he would be placed on Cathay's "no fly list" I feel that Cathay should reimburse us for part of the flight due to the severity of the situation and the fact that my husband assisted the staff when he didn't have too! Again, not a way to spend your honeymoon flight having your husband have to work and not be able to relax and enjoy our time together."

Nadelen: "Information on KLM website and flight status said 50 minutes delay and was never updated with the true status. 3 hours before we took off. KLM blamed the fog at Manchester but to be honest most other flights seemed unaffected. Put up in an IBIS hotel and fed substandard food and shitty hotel room with an Aircon unit that clunks into action every 30 seconds keeping me awake. It's external so I can't switch it off. Being given a 10 Euro voucher for food at the airport when most food and a drink will cost you 12 to 15 euros."

Voordelen: "Flight crew was pleasant and attentive. Seats were comfortable for economy as well. We were allowed to check in extra baggage for free at check in which really helped since we would be catching a connecting flight in Amsterdam"

Nadelen: "Per usual, KLM can't seem to figure out the order of boarding the plane. Should be business - priority - everyone else. Instead they do priority first, and that's usually two-thirds of the passengers. Strange choice of in-flight movies; no accounting for taste, I guess."

Nadelen: "Unable to pick seats in advance,, were assigned seats that did not recline for 11 hour flight. One bathroom not functioning. Very limited movie choices for inflight entertainment. Seat belts much shorter than other airlines, so very confining, unable to loosen to relax in any position other than sitting straight in seat. In Rome had to check in & go through security at Terminal 5 then get bussed to Terminal 3. Only airport where we had to take out all electronics, including converter plugs, headphones, etc, place in a flimsy clear plastic bag ( that broke ) to go through security. Line to check bags pretty slow for number of passengers. Glad we had plenty of time."

Nadelen: "My family of five spent a lovely week in Sardinia. Our return flight took us through Rome. We were boarded an hour ahead of departure from Rome for our 10+ hour flight, only to be held on the ground for a one hour delay. Barring equipment malfunction, this is a totally unacceptable way to treat people. Be assured that I will avoid Rome in the future if at all possible. I trust that Rome nor Italy need my tourist dollars and there are many lovely other places to spend them. Exceedingly disappointed, Pam Just"

Nadelen: "Seating in business class is bad. If you have window seat, you have to cross passanger next to you (you don't need to on Swiss, Lufthansa or Cathay Pacific), there is very few privacy comparred to other airlines and my seat was just terrible for sleeping, did not go flat completely and was way less comfy for sleeping than with other airlines. Plane was an older 747. I will not flight long hault with KLM again."
