And the fellow next to me, in the middle, was over 6 feet and was VERY uncomfortable, even though he had legroom. There were good options for entertainment, but it was unreliable and had to be restarted once. Also, the screen was terrible quality and I could not see no matter how I adjust the screen angle or the light."

Nadelen: "The Swissair website did not have my information available. Stood next to Passport Control for an hour (!) for a glitch they couldn't resolve before boarding. Flight was delayed 90 minutes. Worse quality beef on a flight ever, and that's hard to do. In my 1.5 million miles flown, these were the least comfortable, cramped seats I have ever experienced. I am only 5'7", 150lbs, but for the first time ever could not reach my belongings in the under-the-seat space in front of me. Seriously, it was that cramped."

Nadelen: "The seats are terrible. Narrow, the armrests edgy and only partially movable. A large metal box under the seat takes away 2/3 of the legroom. The entertainment system is outdated, screen has no contrast and can only be viewed at a straight angle, which is impossible as soon as the seat is reclined."
Voordelen: "The crew did a great job of handling our 2-hour delay in starting from Zurich - we were kept updated on what was happening, the aircraft was at a comfortable temperature (not too hot, not too cold), and we were given water during the wait. Also, during the flight, the crew kept coming through with more water, which was VERY NICE! Plus, the moist towels prior to landing. It makes a big difference in comfort levels for such a long flight."

Great service doesn't make up for the noted disappointments. Spending a $2-3 more on food would have helped, but placing us in a long flight in such a small airbus plane just won't do!"

It is a shame because the selection for entertainment is very good, but in this situation, you basically get only the audio."

Voordelen: "Flight attendants were great, friendly, courteous and responsive. The relaxation and mediation program was great! Boarding was fluent and easy."
Nadelen: "No matter what you try to order on the airplane is totally disgusting. If it's not overloaded with cheese and tomato sauce then it's overcompensated with spices (salt or chili). I will never understand why it is so hard to provide simple, fresh and enjoyable meals. Chairs in economy are rarely cleaned up and one can see on the cushions that they are worn out and have lost their padding making the seats very uncomfortable. There was no foot rest available (which is such a simple addition that helps a lot) and the "holder pocket" on the seat in front was a simple net completely useless. Tables were dirty suggesting they were never cleaned and disinfected. Knowing that the highest source of viruses are the tray tables and the pockets in front I would expect attention to be focused on those- it not only impacts the health of the traveler but more important that of the crew. Why is it so hard to think of this business two fold: make revenue but mostly be kind to humans."
Nadelen: "Retard de l'avion ( 3-4 vols différents). Perte de mes bagages qui à entraîner un déplacement pour rien à l'étranger pour le travail vu que je n'avais pas le matériel de travail avec moi. Nous faire monter dans l'avion, rouler sur le tarmac, après 30 min de prise de retard sur le départ, nous annoncer qu'on retourner à l'aéroport et qu'il fallait changer d'avion pour problèmes techniques. Pour nous annuler complètement Le vol! Nous faire descendre de l'avion, devoir aller se trouver un autre vol, aller recuperer la valise, retourner l'enregistrer, et retourner à la sécurité tous ça avec une amabilité digne de la froideur allemande! Auncuns repas ou autre bois a été offert au moin pour s'excuser. Après avoir eu tous ces problèmes avec la même compagnie j'ai contacter à plusieurs reprises le service client qui m'a raccrocher au nez! On m'a dit qu'on me remboursait Le vol. Je n'ai jamais eu de nouvelles."

What's worse is each time we ended up spending about 20-30 min slowly driving around the runway since the takeoff queue was backed up so much. Maybe not the airlines fault for that but the pilot never said a word about it and kept us in the dark. Each flight was in total delayed by several hours. It seems more often than not these days that flights are delayed and are totally unreliable. I've come to hate flying."

Nadelen: "Je fais 2m08 et mes jambes ne rentrent pas dans les sièges classiques sans Les écarter. Personne n'était à ma gauche donc ça allait par contre à droite côté couloir il fallait que je surveille les passages de tous les charriots pour pas qu'on me tape dans le genou... Sinon je m'attendais pas à ce que quasiment toute la nourriture (sauf 2 petits paquets de gâteaux salés et 4 gâteaux ) soit payant.... Je trouve que ces conditions sont pas bien mise en avant lors de la resta des billets. Pour un vol de 9h30 ça fait léger. Surtout quand c'est une correspondance et qu'on ne le savait pas."

Nadelen: "1. Nothing healthy to buy on the plane. 2. Nasty flight attendant. 3. Small seats. 4. Swollen ankles because flight attendant wouldn't let me put my stocking feet up in bulkhead seat, which is why I purchased it. 5. Poor service. 6. Plane landed early but we didn't get to the gate until more than an hour later!"

Nadelen: "Almost an hour to get any luggage out is not acceptable"

Nadelen: "Boarding could have been smoother. Entertainment system could have a better selection of movies and tv programs"

Voordelen: "The crew on-board were polite and did a fairly decent job, with what they had to work with... It's a big long flight of 11+ hours, so tough to deal with so many people. An unexpected surprise was the nice selection of all types of movies to watch and kill time."
Nadelen: "300+ People on a plane will "radiate" heat, so the temperature inside the cabin after 6 hours was so hot that I was perspiring profusely. I even requested it be adjusted, which it seemed to be for a few minutes but then right back up to 27°C... it is too long of a flight to be that uncomfortable with no adjustments considered. I asked other passengers if they too were "uncomfortable" ALL said yes. This would have solved also in my opinion the screaming small children that were also obviously "irritated" A cooler cabin would have induced a "sleep" environment, none of which I was able to get. Sadly, based on this alone, I will not fly SAS again, unless Business Coach class or 1st Class. I was surprised that an additional Coca-Cola was charged for when some beverages were complimentary... puzzling."
Voordelen: "- Seats are fairly comfy (as much as one can hope for an economy seat) - Excellent meals. I'm impressed that I'm getting things like ganache and cold-pressed juice in airline snacks!"

Nadelen: "- Boarding process chaotic. Boarding began 20minutes after the scheduled delayed-boarding time without any notice. Gate seating area at CPH was far too small - very stuffy and standing room only. - Aircraft on its last leg. Most of the A340's seats had broken cupholders. Restrooms were out of paper/soap with no attention from crew. Overhead personal lights were either burnt or malfunctioning. - Lunch meal was decent. pre-landing meal is the same as the snack... some sort of dry and non-appealing wrap. - Crew did not perform passenger safety-check before takeoff and landing (seat backs raised up and seat belts fastened)."

Voordelen: "The pilots were excellent : smooth takeoff and landing. The plane seemed a bit shaky at times in the air; perhaps it was windy, although the skies were clear. Good food; good stewardesses. Entertainment had very good movie choices and games."
Nadelen: "The side lights never were turned off, so it was hard to go to sleep. On a long overseas flight, there should be some down time. It was dark outside part of the time, but never dark inside the plane. The leg room is also a bit cramped for tall people."

Voordelen: "The non stop to Copenhagen from San Francisco was excellent. We departed on time, arrived on time.The seats in coach were much more comfortable than other airlines. I will fly SAS again."

Nadelen: "Shock to discover that suitcases were not included in price of tickets purchased online. We had to pay the equivalent of $100 (australian) per case. My seat was extremely u comfortable as the cusihion was misshapen. The male passengers seated behind us were drinking alcohol and became loud and garrulous, making the trip most uncomfortable and unpleasant."
Voordelen: "The flight attendants were friendly, the seats were very comfortable, and the lunch was good. The movie selection was great!"
Nadelen: "I wished the dinner was a little more substantial. It felt more like a snack than a meal."

Nadelen: "The air conditioner was blowing cold air on my head through the whole trip. No way to control it. Or stop it."

Nadelen: "With a flight scheduled for around 11 hours, seat comfort is at the top of my list of importance. These big Airbus planes have the worst seats for long hauls. I had forgotten previous experiences when I made the reservation but won't in the future. If it is a big Airbus, I'll opt for a flight with a 767, 777, 747 or 787. And what's with one soda per flight? Overall, an acceptable flight but just barely."
Voordelen: "Cabin crew was nice."
Nadelen: "Plane was old and really dirty. no televisions. I booked a premium seat, but was assigned a middle seat in economy. Not sure where the glitch took place. Cabin crew was friendly though. ALSO, SAS/United booked my connection through O'Hare, giving me about 1.5 hours to clear customs and security...I was only able to make my flight due to some nice people who let me cut lines and a lot of running through the terminal. Generally annoyed with the experience."
Voordelen: "Best of class service + great cabin. I sat in coach but it felt like business class on other airlines (which makes me wonder what business class is like on SAS! ). Highly recommended."

Not happy about that!!! No explanation of where it had been, my guess would be that it never got aboard the plane from Copenhagen. I am 80 yrs.,and I need my walking aid."

Nadelen: "no wifi for 11 hour flight. in flight entertainment system very dated - offered movies, but not on demand - all movies started and stopped for all passengers at the same, set time. food in economy was just ok."

Nadelen: "the quality of food has significantly place upward / the food quality is still very upgradeable, the flight time is really damn long and hard to bridge"

Voordelen: "The vegetarian meal was not available on either of my flights. I’d say they were a bit stingy handing out water as well. Space was good for the seating overall."
Voordelen: "The staff was generally pleasant (except for one attend on the SFO-Dublin flight. The lunch and dinner were very good (desserts as well were better than on other airlines I have flown). There was a good selection of movies."
Nadelen: "The seats on the trip Dublin to SFO were a bit cramped. I wasn’t able to lean my seat back as the passenger behind me asked me not to because his knees were already touching the back of my seat. The web check in was prone to error. For both legs I had to start the web Checkin at least twice. I also got an error page when I tried to print my boarding pass. I do’s not find a way to add my boarding pass to my iphone’s wallet."

Nadelen: "No free alcochol. Had to spend a night in Dublin just to connect! Over two hours late. And Aer Lingus really stunk flying the night before from Milano to Dublin. One person at their many counters for two hundred passenegers. Last time for Aer Lingus. On the other hand British Airways flew us from SF to Milano. We thought we were returning by British Airways. Screw job!"
Voordelen: "The seats were comfortable, the crew was friendly and the food was okay."
Nadelen: "The entertainment system wasn't great. The earphones quality was quite bad and felt really uncomfortable. Unfortunately, AerLingus still has that double pronged plugs and I wasn't able to use my personal set (actually, I could but sound would only work on one side). I'll definitely fly with them again, only next time I'll bring an attachment for me to be able to use my headphones."

Voordelen: "I've traveled Aer Lingua several times and been pleased enough to keep choosing AL for my transatlantic trips, however this, the on February 4th 2017 was my last favorite because this time i felt the low-budgetness of travel. there was less leg room, the food was edible, the in-flight A/V was not worth the effort of trying to watch our listen and the crew in my section not very attentive. Having said that, this was a one time mediocre experience that I'm reviewing and hasn't put me off AL at all - it's a good airline and I will continue flying with them."

Voordelen: "I was nervous about an unknown, no-frills airline. The food was nothing special, but everything else was great. I would use them again."

Nadelen: "No water is brought around after the first hour until the plane lands so you could go 8 hours without a drink. Drinks are available in the galley but it's difficult to reach through all the people"
Voordelen: "The crew were lovely from beginning to end. The direct flight to SFO was stellar after traveling for three weeks. The pilots' directions, decisions and effort were very professional. The selection of movies and entertainment were great. The meal and snack were good."
Nadelen: "All seats should now have a USB port, not just a power outlet. The sound system for the entertainment is terrible. The connection should allow for personal headphones, earbuds to be used. Watching a great movie on a terrible sound system is quite frustrating. Also, the crew needed to include another full pass through of sodas/juices and a few more trips to collect waste. There was way too much of a dry spell for a 10+ hour daytime flight."

Voordelen: "The flight attendants were very helpful and friendly. I loved the prescreening in Dublin for U customs and passport control so that we din't have to go through that in San francisco. That was fantastic."
Nadelen: "The vegetarian meals i and my husband ordered for the round trip by my speaking to an Are Lingus rep for the flight from SFO to Dublin when we booked our seat assignments were not available. The attendants managed to find me a veg meal, but not my husband. This was totally unacceptable on a 12 hour flight!!!! and we had trouble getting the meals on this return flight too, even though i had called and confirmed they were available. When we got the food the quality was poor. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and the smallest seats I have yet to encounter, and I do a lot of flying. My back is still hurting."
Voordelen: "The flights to and from Dublin were very comfortable, the food was decent, the entertainment solid and the staff were very courteous. We were ahead of schedule both directions, which was also a plus. I highly recommend this airline."
Nadelen: "I arrived at the airport with a single carry on bag. I travel frequently and I have taken this same bag on dozens of flights on several different airlines and had been allowed to carry it on. At Aerlingus check in, I was told that the bag was overweight (it was not over sized, it fit in the baggage size checker). I was told that I would not be able to carry the bag onto the plane and must check the bag. When I arrived at my destination and retrieved the bag from baggage claim, one of the outer zipper pockets had been fully unzipped and my paperwork (receipts from my business trip) were spilling out of the bag. I was disappointed that my belongings would be handled so carelessly by the airline. If they are going to force passengers to check baggage rather than carry it on, the least they could do is show some care in handling passengers property."

Voordelen: "The ticket price was by far the lowest. Airbus A320 is fairly new, clean and has the regular entertainment options. Staff was decent. The meals were acceptable."
Nadelen: "Paying for food and drinks: most airlines ferrying people over the Atlantic have free snacks, (alcoholic) drinks etc. They only served one serious meal on an 11 hour flight which pretty much forces you to buy snacks and sandwiches. Staff wasn't particularly friendly either: they seemed hurried and inattentive. They were out of many things like drinks, choices of meals, blankets etc. way too soon. Seemed like they had stock for about 30% of the plane. This is strange considering we departed from their home airport (Dublin). Missed the USB-charging port for smartphones / tablets that I'm used to from airlines like United, Delta, KLM and Turkish. On an 11-hour flight, it's very convenient to have your phone / tablet charged."

Nadelen: "I was held up in customs which made me miss my flight. because aer lingus only flies to san francisco some days I had to wait two days to get a flight back home. they don't work with any other airlines to provide you a flight home and when I took the only flight they had to the US I had to go to Boston. Instead of providing me a trip back to sf they said not there problem and I was left in Boston and Had to pa 558.00 to get a ticket home. I fly United and southwest all the time and they have never treated me like that. the united customer representative called aer lingus because she was so shocked that they didn't get to me to my destination that I had purchased. I will never fly them again nor will anyone in my company. I plan to tell every one via social media how crappy and cheap this airline was."
