Plus, continuous strikes in Belgium see a joke, check-in luggages delayed for plenty of airlines. This country doesn't even know what strike mean anymore being so often..."

This story is repeating with your airline at 29th July our Turkish Airlines flight from Sarajevo was late for 3hours so we were running at Ataturk Airport to catch connection flight to Istanbul even though we booked 4 hours delay in Istanbul. Nadelen: "Service was terrible, crew was rude. Flight was delayed 2 hours leaving Tel Aviv and my luggage was not here when we arrived. They let us wait two hours for luggage before telling us it wasn't going to make it in. Frustrated and disappointed! Ground security in Turkey was rude and took my sons skate board which we had flown to Israel with and back to turkey, then they told us it couldn't come with us to miami although we flew Turkish both directions with no problem. In the end gate staff went and rescued his skate board from security as he got to the flight crying his little eyes out. Communication was terrible and staff was rude!"

Fortunately another crew member (who we also asked as they went by) brought water to those she had skipped who wanted it. My TV monitor was not working. Aging planes - need a thorough cleaning. The announcements were garbled and very difficult to hear."

Nadelen: "Being asked, when other passengers were around me, how much money I cary with me. This is a dangerous thing. I don't know whom I travel with, and I felt at risk knowing that other people know how much cash I have with me. Plus, the money were counted on the passageway to the plane, with people walking by. I strongly believe that you should change the method you ask and check passengers for cash. I heard other details that I shouldn't hear from another women who was also checked. What I ask is PRIVACY."

Voordelen: "The flight from DTW to FRA was made that much better by a particular flight attendant who actually remembered it was my first time flying. She checked with me personally as we were disembarking in FRA to see how my flight was. I unfortunately did not catch her name, but she was the highlight of the flight. If I fly again, I will definitely fly Lufthansa for flight crew like her. I skipped the evening meal as I was feeling unwell, but I had the breakfast. The fresh fruit, and especially the watermelon was delicious. There just wasn't enough of it."
Nadelen: "The seat cushion was rather stiff and made the 8-hour-long flight just a tad uncomfortable."

Voordelen: "Lufthansa is one of few airlines in Europe with pure class and excellent service. Even in economy!"

They know that there is a problem with luggage transfer on connecting flight, but don't bother to do anything about it. Customer service representative is not able to provide any information, doesn't even understand English well. Nobody answers the phone... At this point, we're still waiting for our bags"

Voordelen: "We traveled with our 11 month old and the crew was super helpful. It was an 8.5hr flight, we got a middle seat to give him space to play and the staff had a lot of fun engaging with him. They even gave him a couple of toys to play with. Food was just ok, but better than most airline meals I've had. We flew Premium Economy which was a comfortable experience as well."
Nadelen: "Checking in took too long, but that's more due to the new US-bound flight restrictions and process that's supporting that."

Nadelen: "Series of unfortunate events: 1. No air vents in seats. Plane was very warm the entire flight. My husband and I spent 6+ hours sweating in our seats. 2. Dinner was not served until 9:30/10PM. By the time we received our food in the back, it was cold. 3. For guests who wanted to sleep during the red eye, the lights were not turned off until after dinner and cleanup, which meant only 2 or so hours of sleep in dark."

Nadelen: "Due to a train mix-up, I arrived at the Frankfurt airport with only 53 minutes to get through security and board. Lufthansa would not let me through the process, even though I immediately told them about the problem. They not only refused to let me board, but also refused to reschedule me. I had to buy a whole new round-trip ticket at more than double the price in order to meet my family for our once-in-a-lifetime reuinion in Norway, but also make my existing connection for the return flight. It cost me an additional 999 Euros cash in the middle of my vacation because my Kayak ticket was not refundable."

Nadelen: "Lost my luggage when the other 3 people who I am traveling with got theirs. Not sure what went wrong there. No SAS personnel was available, actually there was no airline counter even. I filed a lost and found report at the airport. I will contact the airline , hope they will find my bags or at least provide vouchers for my one week vacation."

Voordelen: "The movie selection"
Nadelen: "To be boarded and wait for more than 45 minutes inside the plane for a second pilot."

Voordelen: "Entertainment, food, seats!"
Nadelen: "We chose seats on the same row as grandparents and had preprinted boarding passes at home. When at check-in desk to drop off baggage, the employee printed new passes and change the seats row for the 4 four us, which made us be in a different row than grandparents. I did not notice until we boarded the plane."

Nadelen: "TV's on our whole row did not work for the entire flight. Reading lamp was burned out. It would have been tolerable for a domestic flight but these amenities are needed and appreciated on a six hour flight!"

Voordelen: "This was my first flight in SAS and it was a wonderful experience. The crew was pleasant and the seating was spacious and the plane was clean. Very refreshing atmosphere."

Voordelen: "Very pleasant staff in airport and on board. Really like the new planes, too. Food served on long haul international legs even on SAS Go which was great."
Nadelen: "Boarding a bit confusing on a couple legs, didn't really announce boarding group etc, but otherwise was fine."

Voordelen: "The flight from Newark to Stockholm was late, so I was late for the flight to Vilnius,had to recheck-in and wait for 6 hours."

Nadelen: "A very dishonest experience. The booking never made it clear that I was not allowed to check my suitcase and I had to pay € 70 extra both coming and going and thereby paid 1 1/2 times more for my suitcase than for my ticket. I am very disappointed to be 'tricked' in this way and consider it a very dishonest business practice."

Nadelen: "I Had checked several times to make sure I had 2 bags included ( standard for US-EU flights) and every time. At the airport I had to pay an extra charge for my second bag which made the flight very expensive and just ruined the whole experience for me"

Nadelen: "Delays on boarding (on departing as well as returning home) Damaged luggage"

Voordelen: "The flight was on time The lounge (SAS) in Copenhagen, but that had nothing to do with the flight"
Nadelen: "Rather indifferent organization in Copenhagen at the gate, and rather rushed service (granted it was only an hour+ flight from Kastrup to Arlanda), I was not even asked for water or tea/coffe when the cart zipped by, maybe because I did not speak Swedish/Danish"

Nadelen: "The entertainment System could use an update - more recent movies and TV shows would help."

Nadelen: "So many delays and lost luggage. The craziest was leaving Manchester. I was supposed to have 30 minutes after leaving security at Manchester and would have done if they hadn't decided to board early. That's ok but then we sat on the plane waiting which resulted in leaving later than the original time of departure and therefore a large run for my connection at Copenhagen. Was badly organized clearly."

Voordelen: "So far best flight I've ever experienced ! I was traveling to Europe and both ways I was pleasantly surprised, planes were on time , super nice crew and great food , Way to go SAS !!!"

Nadelen: "It would be great to have a greater offer of music. I really like to listen to some new music from good artists and to get inspired for new music on a long flight. It's too bad, SAS only offers playlists of 1 hour..."

Nadelen: "2 hr delay on a 2 hr flight"

Voordelen: "They had a kiosk, which was nice. In the US (Dulles) on my way out, I had no way to print a picket without waiting in line. I don't have a printer at home and the mobile ticket system was not working, so I had to wait in a very long line despite the fact that I had no luggage just to get my ticket. Every other airline had a Kiosk. In Gdansk, I was glad to see that they had a kiosk."
Nadelen: "Although I could print my the ticket for the first leg at the kiosk, I could not print the second. I asked the woman at the desk, and she could not print either. I had to fly to the connecting airport with no connecting ticket in hand."

Nadelen: "No food"

Voordelen: "Flight was breezy, no complains. Nice staff Food leaves room for improvement but over all a pleasant experience But please read below"
Nadelen: "So you lost my luggage.. These things happen. However.. If someone pays 8 k for a one way ticket you might be able to come to the conclusion that it's an urgent trip as is. And respond or /and follow up so that I know what to do as far as cancel all things and /or max out my cc to get the things I need. Nothing from you, no word. No one picking up the phones. 8 thousand dollars worth of silence."

Voordelen: "Long flight, the pillows and heavier blankets were a nice welcome. Pretty empty flight on the way to Iceland so everyone was allowed to stretch out."

Nadelen: "They ran out of Pizza, which was offered for $9 a slice, before they got to our row. I would like to get a full can of soda for free rather than a 200ml cup. During boarding, they boarded all zones at once. We went into the walkway, and we had to stand there for a while."

Nadelen: "NO communication about flight rescheduling, aircraft rental -- the lack of communication was really the worst. (For example, knowing that the planes / flight times were not the same, many would have opted to not take the trip if given the option, which we really should have been.)"

Nadelen: "La barrière de départ n’a pas été indiquée sur les écrans électroniques, et comme nous nous étions enregistrés en ligne et que nous attendions au salon où les vols ne sont pas annoncés, nous sommes arrivés tard à l’embarquement et avons presque manqué notre vol. À bord, le personnel a fait le nécessaire mais pas plus, service peu chaleureux et minimaliste. Le débarquement s’est fait avec une navette, comme à Mirabel dans le temps, et comme il n’y avait qu’une seule navette à la porte arrière, le processus a êté laborieux."

Nadelen: "I recently was scheduled to fly out of Newark, NJ on Friday 10/20 but unfortunately there was an issue with my documentation. The airline support staff mistakenly tagged me as a no show however, I had been in contact with both the 3rd party vendor and the airline explaining my situation. I watched my 3 friends board a plan with no idea if I would get to go to Iceland, it was the weekend and no embassy was open to address what may have happened with my documentation. No one could tell me if I would be able to get on another flight and join my friends nor if I would be refunded, I was simply put on a no show list and bounced between several customer support representatives. I am very upset that the situation occurred"

Nadelen: "Flight was more than one hour late"

Voordelen: "Great crew and amenities! Comfortable seats!"
Nadelen: "Did not board in sections so boarding took long. Caused us to depart later."

Voordelen: "The flight went exactly to plan. The cabin crew was very friendly and the seats were comfortable. I like the transfer in Iceland, because it allows you to stretch your legs on the long haul from the West Coast to Europe, and generally only adds about an hour to the total flight time."

Nadelen: "Reykjavik airport and Icelandair need to get a grip on their inability to deal with the crowds that are created by the surge in traffic to Iceland. We had to wait in an area the size of another airport's single waiting area with 3 other flights leaving for North America. There were at least 800 people waiting with no clear designation of where to go, no seating, no bathrooms nearby. It's a mess! Airplane seats with minimal padding and very cramped, but unfortunately, what's new?"

Voordelen: "Soft music and a bottle of water welcomed us. The technology to learn about Iceland , safety features of airplane and avaiblity to movies, music etc was outstanding!"
Nadelen: "The construction at Iceland airport but understand must do this."

Voordelen: "Icelandair is friendly, helpful and comfortable. The TVs are great. The only thing that would make it perfect are more reasonably priced food choices."

Voordelen: "Personnel sympa, avion confortable."

Also the fact that there was no food served unless you paid for its ridiculous €8 for a sandwich was annoying for a transatlantic flight."

Voordelen: "Friendly staff. Low wait time at passport control compared to other connection points in Europe."
Nadelen: "We were delayed for two hours due to a weather delay from the day before. When we boarded our plane it was cold, and then we had to sit and wait for 45 minutes while we waited for connecting passengers. I would've preferred to be held up inside the terminal a little longer than sit on a cold plane with little communication. No water fountains at KEF"

Nadelen: "The amount of layovers."

Voordelen: "It eventually got where we needed to go. Flight crew was OK and boarding was fairly efficient."
Nadelen: "USB jack at my seat was broken; my neighbor let me use hers for a bit. Her headphone jack was broken, so I offered to let her use mine, but then she needed to use my TV, so that wasn't ideal either. Many errors using the entertainment system--very laggy and frequent "temporarily unavailable" messages. Also, we were about 40 minutes delayed due to a mechanical issue (discovered once we were all boarded, extending an already lengthy flight)."

Voordelen: "The bottles of water, friendly staff, entertainment selections, and the aurora borealis lighting."

Nadelen: "Tiny seats (average sized male here - trust - they are tiny) All food is charged (not a single piece of free food was offered; $8/sandwich) Lost luggage - I've never dealt with airline personnel (in person & over phone) that displayed such a level of apathy. Compensation ceiling: $99. They apologized about the incident as if they were sorry that it was raining that day - not losing 2 pieces of luggage and not having any means to track them. Check-in personnel: They only gave me a single luggage tag for 3 pieces of luggage - they should have given me 3. Would have made tracing lost luggage easier. Employee @ IAD told me that if I didn't show up at the boarding gate 40 minutes prior to boarding that they would remove my luggage from airplane and that I could risk losing flight (wtf?). Icelandair is one of the worst airlines I have ever flown. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They may offer rates 20% cheaper than other major carriers, but that discount accompanies a steep price. It's an airline run by inexperienced, lackluster, apathetic staff who, frankly, have no business operating an airline. If your options are flying with a major carrier vs Icelandair - and the price difference is a few hundred $: pay the extra money; you'll be glad you did. Icelandair's prices are not low enough to justify all the discomforts and liabilities which accompany them. Look elsewhere. Keep this in mind: I'm a seasoned flyer. This airlines barely ranks one notch up from Ryanair."

Nadelen: "I wish there was SOME sort of snack that we didn't have to pay for."

Voordelen: "The crew in my area were very helpful. The young guy next to me passed on the dinner choices. The crew member came back and asked if he would like some pretzels, etc. which I thought was very nice. They were very friendly."
Nadelen: "Just a suggestion that the ear jacks for the entertainment be passed out earlier. Luckily I brought my own but my neighbors on both sides had a long wait until they were passed out."

Voordelen: "Modern screens and seats"
Nadelen: "The temperature of the entire cabin was super hot during the 10 hours of flight. Very discomforting"

Voordelen: "I notified the crew that I would have a very short time upon arrival in Madrid to catch my connecting flight to Santiago. They transferred me to a seat close to the front so I could disembark faster. That allowed me to reach the gate as the boarding began."
Nadelen: "The company handling the check-in for Iberia is inept. The line reserved for baggage drop-off was used to prioritize check-in for a large group, making the benefit of online check-in meaningless! Also, the supervisor who intervened on my check-in issue lacked basic customer service skills!"

Voordelen: "Iberia is awesome, they are so nice and accomodating, I appreciate the time that they spent making me feel comfortable. The food was awesome!"

Nadelen: "Boarding @ JFK was a joke. That part of airport is currently under construction, so massive # of ppl & not enough room for everyone. Once on plane, all reasonably good until we reached altitude & settled in for the evening. At that point, for some reason the heat came on between rows 39 & 46 (we were in row 45) & was on all. night. long. on an overnight flight. Crew was baffled & didn’t know how to fix. I was melting & miserable — impossible to sleep. Cramped, basic economy seats. Awful experience."

Nadelen: "Absurd weinig beenruimte. Alleen geschikt voor mensen kleiner dan 1.50m. Je kunt het best de hele vlucht op het toilet gaan zitten. Dit was één keer, maar nooooit weer!!! Sterk af te raden!!"

Nadelen: "Belachelijk weinig beenruimte, waardoor ik niet eens recht in m’n stoel kon zitten!"

Nadelen: "The crew was not good at all. there was no water service, one had to go to the kitchen and beg for water. in particular the male crew was not happy to help with anything. the snack before landing was served 45 mins before arrival so everything had to be rushed. Crew soiled a half empty can of soda on me, and didn't even apologize. Our luggage missed the flight to MIA and we were told it would be delivered to our house the next day between 7pm and 8pm. it never showed. I called customer service and they could not tell me anything. Horrible experience"

Nadelen: "The lack of legroom is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I am 5’10 and my knees were planted firmly in the seat in front of me. I’ve had 5 knee surgeries so this made the tight squeeze even worse. Furthermore, the inability to move is cause of blood clots."

Voordelen: "Got me where I needed to go, on time. Reasonably comfortable."

Nadelen: "Flight attendants busy and not care much about the passengers. Asked for water twice and never arrived until I got up and went to the back of the airplane to ask again"

Nadelen: "It was hard to find where to go in the Madrid airport.and arrived only just in time to the check in. I was singled out before getting on the plane to be frisked, etc. One said there was something written on my boarding passes that was an alert. I am a 64 year old woman traveling alone....no plans for anything bad to be sure!"

Nadelen: "I requested a vegan meal weeks prior and the only meal without meat had a lot of dairy in it. Not enough water was offered as well. The flight was delayed boarding. The leg room is pitiful on the flight."

Voordelen: "Entertainment content was good and made the long trip more pleasant. I got a seat in the emergency exit and had lots of space for my legs. Alleys are quite narrow although and the crew was bumping into my arm quite often but overall seating experience was good."
Nadelen: "Boarding was very unorganized. It was difficult to understand the groups that were supposed to board. Overal check in process took too long. I arrived to the airport 3 hours in advance and finally made it to the gate when boarding started. Food can be improved as well. Had the pasta with spinach which consisted in some tortellini with very greasy cheese and way too many peppers. Second meal consisted in a sad croissant with ham and cheese."

Nadelen: "After a delayed flight coming to Madrid, I was faced with an unbelievably long boarding control line, it seemed clear that I would miss my flight! Crew then stopped all people from going up to the security check point except those headed to London! But I was going to miss my flight to JFK also. This process was so poorly managed!!!! The crowd became very angry, some people even started pushing, yelling and becoming violent. I feared for my safety. I pleaded with a crew member to let me through, and eventually she did, but the process was frightening and chaotic!!!"

Voordelen: "On time to madrid... late to Alicante"
Nadelen: "Personal video screen froze and didnt work...chicken meal was too salty. Britisk airways cancelled our return transatlantic flight LGW to JFK and the Iberia (one world) representative Alicante airport could not help us getting on another flight we now are landing in LGW and have to transfer to LHR at iour own expense and are getting to J FK almost 4 hour later than scheduled...spenrt over 40 minutes on phone with British airways at international cell phone rates which also cost us a fortune"

Nadelen: "Staff was not attentive to customers needs."

Nadelen: "Felt like a sardine in a can."

Voordelen: "Nothing stood out."
Nadelen: "Late. Ineffective boarding - announcement said we would board by row, but actual boarding was by mass crowding, with no attempt by crew to improve matters. No recognition of dwindling baggage storage space meant that I had to cram my suitcase under the seat, and spend the 2.5 hour flight with my legs jammed against it."

Voordelen: "Cheap fare"
Nadelen: "Disorganized boarding and didn't even offer water for free on flight."

Voordelen: "Take-off and landing was timely."
Nadelen: "Really disappointed with a lack of service. On the 8 hour flight we had one meal service within an hour of take-off and one within an hour of landing. No water or checks or anything for almost 6 straight hours, unlike my prior flight. I had to finally get up and ask for water. Very disappointed."

Voordelen: "The plane was quiet, the crew was extremely efficient and polite."
Nadelen: "No complaints."

Nadelen: "Boarding was disorganized - signage very misleading. Cabin was stuffy and warm until the plane started moving, and during the trip it did not cool off sufficiently. Would be better if they told passengers about when meals will be served. Stewardess poured old coffee in the basin while people were waiting to use the bathroom. Seat was splashed with coffee. Disposal for paper was stuffed. FYI Breakfast was inedible from ORD to Madrid."

Nadelen: "I think the Brie cheese I ate made me sick afterward. I wish the staff had brought water around more."

Nadelen: "When we arrived at AirPort El Dorado, we discovered that our flight was cancelled/has been changed without warning us! They scheduled us a new flight with Vianca and Iberia: Bogotá-Madrid + Madrid-Brussels. My partner and I could not sit together on any of these flights! 1 of 10 hours and of 2 hours! I would NOT recommend AA to anyone! This was full responsability of AA!"
