Voordelen: "This review is for return travel from ATL to MAA (Chennai, India) and back. Route: ATL-DOH: about 14.5 hrs; DOH-MAA: about 4.5 hrs; Likes: 1. Baggage check-in process was simple and easy. 2. Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."
Nadelen: "Dislikes: 1. Online check-in wasnt easy; towards the end of the process, there is an option to email the boarding pass but this never worked. Not sure if this is something to do with the browser (tried with Firefox, Opera) 2. It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

Nadelen: "same remark : Before our trip we called Kayak service desk with the request to reserve our seats. The answer obtained was that we should do it online. When we went online there were almost no more seats available so we decided to go to the check in counter in the airport. Although we were more than 3 hours in advance in the airport there were almost no seats available. We were very disappointed about this service, we never experienced this with any other airline companies..."

Nadelen: "luggage did not make connecting flight from dubai to jfk, inspite of pilot telling us 1 hour or so delay was waiting for luggage. at jfk was told can get same night if want to. this proved futile . spent hours at JFk waiting and talking to Emirates. spoke with multiple agents including Luz, sarah, etc. finally around 12 midnight was told customs would not release till next day. but promised to get it to us by 12noon next day (flying to wyoming next day at 330 pm) . this did not happen. again multiple phone calls and promises , failed. Kiamaria even got text of address in WY where 2 suitcases should have gone. All 4 suitcases were sent to NJ and arrived at 9pm. more phone calls. this time Rachel helped with fedex labels unfortunately more problems as fedex said no barcode and we had to go to fedex office and finally they took care of it so many hours wasted, not to mention the anxiety and frustratioon How are you going to reimburse all this ????"

Nadelen: "Starting from boarding this flight was a problem. we had a infant(18 month old) sleeping in our arms as the flight was at 3:30 Am and was delayed by an hour. There was not priority boarding for elderly and people with kids. We had to wait in queue holding our carry ons as well as the kid. As we were last in boarding it was hard to find a closest spot for our carry on. Crew would not respond for about 10 mins or so( not during take off or landing) this was during mid flight when there was no turbulence(seat belt sign was off). We asked for a veg meal instead of baby food as our kid eats solids and she does not like instant baby food's. We requested this when we booked her ticket , she was not even given food luckily we had some milk powder and water bottle. Really bad experience with Emirates"

Between Chennai to Dubai ,Flight experience was not good, Seating and entertainment in particular was not good , it was too cramped and too much glare on the TV screen, probably because i had a window seat."

While watching people cut the line, airport officials taking bribe and allowing some people to cut the line and more. i did not have enough time to purchase from the duty free store in chennai and since my flight from chennai was late it landed late in Dubai so I did not have any time to purchase anything in dubai duty free before my connecting flight. I reached airport 4 hours before departure and I get treated like this, horrible service."

Nadelen: "Legroom in economy was good; however, seat width wasn't. You rub elbows with your neighbors while eating. Asian vegetarian meals were nauseatingly spicy - not the "hot" spicy type, but the cinnamon/cardamom overuse type. Most crew members gave a cold shoulder to passengers."

Nadelen: "This airline charges for everything, and after you pay once, they try to charge you again, and again, and again (four different people tried to charge me 4 different times for my two checked bags). And they lost the record of my payment, so I had to show 4 times the Amex receipt showing that I had paid before. It took 45 minutes and 4 non receptive agents for me to get my luggage checked. British Airways is significantly better."

Nadelen: "The plane (Boeing 777) is packed like a sardines can, with 10 narrow uncomfortable seats across in Economy Class. The crew didn't even bring water for an 1,5 hr into the flight! The plane was very hot, with very little air flowing through the salon. Food was bland for dinner and inedible for breakfast. The crew was barely there, and borderline rude when asked something."

Nadelen: "Didn’t have the meal I ordered Got in 30 min early but no gate for us. We waited over 80min on tarmac to deplane I paid extra for an exit seat but there was no indication when I did that there would be walls for armrests and that made it very uncomfortable for me"

Nadelen: "Entertainment screen did not work; in neighboring seat it could not be switched off when we wanted to sleep; sourly employees everywhere (re-booking counter an exception); food close not being edible and cold; I forgot my watch on when going through security in the Air France terminal; when I started to say "sorry" I was yelled at by the screener who said that she will do the talking; she sent me back through the scanner twice without my watch, then once more with the carry-on and made sure that I went to the end of a very long line to wait for another screening rather than having me just go through the scanner without my watch. Needless to say, there was nothing else suspicious about me once the watch was removed. Eager to exercise her power, the security person did not seem to consider that she slowed down a long line of people waiting to be screened. I should add that I am 73 yrs old grey haired female who has traveled a lot both for pleasure and business during my entire life, often to some difficult places and that I do not argue with or provoke those in power in a situation like this. The yelling and the sending me repeatedly through the scanner, which did not beep once the watch was removed, was beyond anything I had experienced anywhere else. The sending me to the very end of the line seemed outright spiteful. (I did miss the plane connection.)"

Nadelen: "Le racket de cette compagnie commence dès l'enregistrement. Nous étions en famille avec deux enfants. Premier bonheur de devoir payer 63 euros de plus pour éviter d'être disséminés aux 4 coins de l'avion, le système par défaut ayant fait cela !!! Deuxième bonheur l'avion est en fait quasi vide.."

Voordelen: "The fact that I was not able to fly due to ethiad trying to make extra money was something I will Never forget"
Nadelen: "No airline has ever treated me this poorly. I hope this never happens ever again to anyone"

Nadelen: "Single lady travelling and the seat was between two men on both legs. Asked ticketing at Chennai nd he said you will get in Abu Dhabi and did not give boarding pass for the Second leg of flight. Came to Abudhabi and tried to get boarding pass for seating not between two males but the ticketing agent lied to me “ go run your flight is leaving” and gave me seating between two males for 15 hour flight requested"

Voordelen: "Though I missed the Outbound flight, was given a seat on the next available flight and offered a free meal in the airport. Seating was very comfortable."
Nadelen: "In-flight WIFI was very slow and felt a bit expensive. Boarding was a bit unorganized, but OK. Food was average and with no variety."

Nadelen: "Service was a bit average. Attendants bumping into you... no apologies"

Voordelen: "The staff were kind, professional, attentive, and each person brought a warm elegance to their interactions with patrons. My seat ate who was a stranger to me got messily sick and the attendant was gracious and helpful to her. Also the meal from Abu Dhabi to Bengaluru was the most delicious I've ever had on any flight, which includes some international first class travel."
Nadelen: "I have long thighs so my knees butted against the seat in front of me."

Nadelen: "On line flight status. Since the flight arrived earlier (11:50 PM instead of 12:15 AM the next day) from Chennai to Abu Dhabi, earlier time was entered. But since the date was not changed, it showed a delay of about 11 hours."

Voordelen: "Meals are served promptly and on a regular basis. Selection of entertainment is good but needs updating."
Nadelen: "Boarding was a chaos at the Abu Dhabi airport, they were just calling out for the Business Class and passengers who are disabled and those who are travelling with children to board first when everybody came to line up. Nobody from the ground staff even asked them to give way for those who are boarding first or announced what zone are they boarding next. Also, i used the mobile app to check in, i am definitely sure i chose an isle seat (you can see it on the seat map during online check in) but i was surprised to see that i got a window seat."

Voordelen: "Good selection of movies and live TV. Ample leg room. Boarding is not as per zones. Announcements and directions at the gate are not very clear nor loud."
Nadelen: "They don't offer choice of vegetarian or non-vegetarian meals. They just hand you whatever is on the cart. Crew appears to be very defensive."

Voordelen: "nothing to like about. sorry i wont be taking etihad airways."
Nadelen: "poorest customer service. my family members, friends and myself wont be taking etihad flight."

Voordelen: "Unfortunately our flight from London to Abu Dhabi was delayed and we missed our connection through to Melbourne. However because of the way they hsndled this the delay turned out to be a blessing! Etihad put us up for the 12hour daytime delay in the magnificent Marriot Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The communication and transfer were handled very well. It was a painless process and we got to enjoy a lovely rest before being transferred back to the airport and flying home. Pretty much a faultless experience and one that would see me fly Etihad again without hesitation."
Nadelen: "Whilst the food at the hotel was amazing, the same cannot be said for the plane! The food was very ordinary. The chicken pie was barely edible. In terms of seating, the seats are pretty standard long-haul fare. There is limited room but the issue is cushioning. They feel pretty hard and it was difficult to be comfortable."

Nadelen: "Food was bad"

Voordelen: "Boarding process and entertainment was good"
Nadelen: "Food was horrible. First of all, we didn't get what we had requested. On top of it, whatever they had provided was substandard. Especially whatever they had given as sandwich."

Voordelen: "Timings good."
Nadelen: "Wheel chair assistance very poor, I suffered a lot."

Voordelen: "Customer service."
Nadelen: "No complaints."

Voordelen: "Main course not served in the Dinner. My wife asked to crew about main course they told to her it is completed I mean not available any more."
Nadelen: "Improve the services like Dinner quality and snak quality. In the Airport there is big q for checking no one is controlled and guding about line."

Voordelen: "Après une heure dans l'avion sans climatisation malgré un personnel de bord irréprochable (distribution de boissons) on nous annonce le débarquement, diriger et abandonne dans un terminal malgré un repas offert, pas d'information après renseignement auprès d'un accompagnant de tour operator j'apprend qu'il faut se rendre à la même porte où nous embarqueront avec 4 heures de retard. Un grand merci au personnel de cabine mais le responsable au sol .... Mais en plus de 10 vol Ave Etihad c'est ma seul mauvaise expérience et de plus j'ai payer 200fr pour changer de vol et arriver 4 h 30 plus tôt résultat gagné 30 minutes oups"

Nadelen: "very cramped in economy compared to other carriers from the region due to 3-4-3 on 777."

Nadelen: "Le vol était complet et nous nous sommes vu proposés éventuellement un vol AF direct en remplacement. Après notre acceptation, en dernière minute, nous avons finalement embarqué sur ETIHAD. Là fut notre erreur car lors de la correspondance à Abu dhabi nous étions de nouveau surbooké à 23h00 ! malgré nos borading pass. Au bout de 2h de négociation nous avons obtenu une chambre d'hotel de 1h du matin à 6h.... pour reprendre le vol suivant à 8h30.... Aucune indemnisation, ni surclassement, as même un code wifi .... COMPAGNIE A EVITER A TOUT PRIS, c'est du LOW COST et le SAV est CATASTROPHIQUE. Voordelen: "The flight attendants made hand-made Easter cards for all the children on the plane! It was a really nice touch and I've never seen anything like it on another airline."
Nadelen: "The airline changed our return date for 2 days later! When that date wouldn't work for us, we were re-routed through Chicago with a connection back to SF. The flight times were then changed two more times, and our seats were moved from aisle to middle seats. I do not recommend flying Etihad if you have a schedule to keep to."

Voordelen: "A380 is the definition of comfort. Comfortable seats."
Nadelen: "Airline should consider discounting the tickets in the last row as they are not recliners. Cramped for space."

Voordelen: "The sits we're very comfortable, the food was great and there was a flight attendant who was very friendly and very professional, her name was Giorgana from Rumania, I was impressed with how polite, and efficient she was , smiling to all the passengers and doing a great job."

Nadelen: "Lacking in Hosiptality"

Voordelen: "I like the movies. Seats assignment to window in a 2 seats row are the best. They seat a chubby person who was all over my seat the whole 5 joirse"
Nadelen: "The flight attending crew from Chennai as well as for the Abu Dabi flight ignore request for coffee or water service. Only after turning light several times they responded. Even when they were passing the halls with water and you called them they would not stopped. I love the soft landing of all pilots flights."

Nadelen: "The website does not allow updating of food preferences. I tried multiple times to update my preferences but it did not work well. Veg options are a must for flights originating from India as there are several passengers who prefer veg meals. However, this was not well attended to in the flight."

Voordelen: "Excellent."

Voordelen: "Flight was good - smooth takeoff & landing. But delayed half hour in Abu Dhabi , did not make it up. Crew good but food was not tasty. My wife's specially ordered Jain vegetarian meal was inedible. Seat comfort OK but soiled by a supper in seat ahead, could not stretch legs."
Nadelen: "Entertainment choice for Indians limited and poor content. Unremarkable English movies & music. Quantity but not quality"
