Nooit uit Amsterdam. Wie moet ik dan geloven? Ik toch maar wachten. Blijkt koffer toch van bagage band in Atlanta te komen. Als ik op Delta/KLM info had vertrouwd, was mijn koffer dus pleite geweest, want niet doorgezonden. Geplande tussenstop duur van 2 uur was volgens douane te weinig. Dat klopte. Haalde maar net vlucht Atlanta/Kingston."

They reminded me several times that I was not a preferred customer and that I had bought my ticket through kayak. This is the reason they gave for lack of help. It was frustrating to say the least. I’m not sure how they expect to gain repeat customers if they treat first time customers like that."

Nadelen: "The crew was grumpy and unhelpful, but I can usually overlook that. What really got me was this: YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR BEER & WINE ON THIS INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT! Never in my 25 years of international travel have I seen this from a mainstream carrier. For this fact alone, I will never fly this airline again. You also have to pay to pick your seats in advance."

Nadelen: "Our plane arrived at IAD late due to a minor mechanical that was repaired at its previous destination. Consequently, we departed IAD almost two hours late, causing us to miss our connection in Copenhagen. Norwegian Air had a flight leaving shortly from Copenhagen to Rome, but the transfer agent told us SAS "does not re-book with Norwegian." Instead we were assigned to two more flights, one to Brussels, and another from Brussels to Rome. We arrived in Rome around 17:00 rather than 10:35 as scheduled, losing a full day of sight-seeing."
Voordelen: "Technically, since the first leg of my flight was changed I no longer flew this route, but it was through the same airlines and they fixed my issues no problem."

Nadelen: "In-flight entertainment did not work, veggie meal I ordered was not there, and when I asked if I could have one of the extra business class meals, I was told no. I further asked if I could just have some chips from the snack basket and that was met with a death glare from the female flight attendant. All in all, the flight attendants were rude and unwilling to accept any ownership in the poor conditions of this 9 hour flight."

She pressed the button to ask for a moist towel but was ignored after much waiting; she pressed again, and more waiting came with no response. She got yelled at when she went to ask politely. I understand the crew can get busy but where is compassion for a customer in need?"

I had to pay extra for what our itinerant said had been booked. Mary, at the desk at C12 in Delles, she wouldn't give me her last name was unbelievably insulting and unhelpful."

Voordelen: "Due to a hurricane, I actually missed my original flight date, but Aer Lingus allowed me to rebook (2 days later!) at no cost, which was really great of them. Absolutely no wait at check-in and very good service there. Got window seats on both legs of flight, with no one in my row. Meals on first flight leg were very good. Crew did a good job and made me confident of their work. Both flight legs arrived early. Everything went well. Very good airline - I will certainly fly with them again."
Nadelen: "It seems that there was no snack or beverage on the second leg of flight (ca. 3 hours), but I probably just slept through it. Price seemed high for this route and season, but it was much better than any other airline: flying has become expensive in the COVID era. But Aer Lingus keeps us moving ahead. Great job!"

To top it all off, we waited almost 2 hours in Dublin airport for the luggage since supposedly There was a mal function from the cargo door of the plane, where we only received little Bits of information when we all complained"

The entertainment system has not kept up to date. Poor reception and old movies. Voordelen: "The flight from LHR to DUB was pleasant, short, and uneventful. I blissfully caught up on sleep during most of it!"
Nadelen: "After we landed in DUB, some other aircraft's being in the wrong place seemed to cause us quite a long delay, which meant that I very nearly missed my connecting flight to IAD. My suitcase, perhaps because of this same taxiing delay, missed the flight and had to be sent on the same flight the next day - though it reached me without incident about 24 hours after I reached my home."
Voordelen: "on time"

Nadelen: "Lack of leg room, I know it's the safe in economy on all airlines, but it's tough!"
Nadelen: "On the MIA-DUB flight, my headset/entertainment would keep losing sound. On the DUB-BRU: the flight was almost an hour late. They could have at least given free coffee or water to all of us in Economy."
Voordelen: "The flight was delayed by a little over an hour, but the pilot managed to make up some time. Airplane was clean enough and crew was friendly."

Nadelen: "The sound quality for the announcement system and the headphones was really bad, so I could never understand what anyone was saying. The crew is very formal and sometimes curt and borderline rude. They just seem very inflexible and seem to put rules before people."
Voordelen: "Excellent overall experience on my first Aer Lingus flight. As a nervous flyer I highly recommend Aer Lingus"
Voordelen: "Flight was delayed 40 mins because Aer Lingus was unable to meet departure time and Air Traffic Control couldn't fit them into the departing flights rotation outside of their originally scheduled time. As a result, the airplane was stuck at the gate for 30 minutes. The rest we spent taxiing to what seemes the furthest end of the airport. The airplane hadn't been cleaned in a while as was evident by extremely sticky and smelly tray tables in our row."
Nadelen: "Aer Lingus personnel were incompetent and inefficient. Most were more interested in chatting with coworkers than actually assisting customers. Seats had not been assigned despite my previous assurance from EA customer service folks, and special meal requests for my wife and child had not been added to our booking record. Calling Aer Lingus almost always requires you to hold 30 minutes before anyone answers. Again, I suspect they are just as disinterested in helping customers as the ground personnel."
Nadelen: "This was the first time in my life that an airline lost my luggage. I finally got it back 2 days later but it was a very stressful experience."
Voordelen: "Flight attendant was delightful."

Voordelen: "Good amount of legroom, nice plane in good condition. Friendly professional staff."
Nadelen: "They have a rather meager selection of movies and TV to watch. My flight over to Europe was on British Air, and the comparison in this regard was stark. BA has tons of movies and TV to choose from, and lots of first-run. This had about 6 TV shows, 2 episodes each, and maybe 20 movies, ranging in age but mostly not very new. When you're on a daytime flight for 7 hours, this becomes something you care about."
Nadelen: "I'm soooo upset about the service after my flight canceled. 1.the staff ignored me when I asked if I could have a VIP to rebook my tickets earlier because my mom got cancel and was going to do the surge . But he went away and never came back, no any response of YES or NO. 2.I don't know why the airline company still need 11 hours to rebook the tickets with all our flight information and our passport liscen numbers already , making us waiting till 3 am at the airport. 3. I asked my boyfriend to talk to the staff on phone, and the staff told my BF that he didn't know my English was not good. I said to him loudly that I had told him , but the manager besides said "don't shout at my staff"to me, even without asking me what happened . Nadelen: "After the main meal there was a four hour gap before any refreshments were offered, just an hour before landing. For an 8 1/2 hour trip, water should. E offered every two hours!!"

Nadelen: "My ticket was somewhat unclear on what airline i was flying to London. I thought it was British Airways when it was really Aer Lingus. Almost missed the flight being in the wrong terminal."
Voordelen: "The crew was nice, however, they also give varying information. We had frequent flier tickets and when I checked in, the screen stated no extra charge for check in bags and I also called the customer service. When I got to the airport in Hamburg, they wanted to charge me $100 for a bag. I asked the lady behind the counter to call the main office because she said she has no authority to change the fee. I called the main office and had the person in office tell the agent at the airport that it is a mistake and that there is no charge."
Nadelen: "Better communication between all aspects of the company."
Nadelen: "They need to check the tv screens. On two different IcelandAir planes my screen wasn't working."
Voordelen: "Again... we didn't crash. That was nice."
Nadelen: "There was a bit more leg room compared to the previous 5.5h flight. But my knees are absolutely damaged after a total of 8h in these sardine cans."
Voordelen: "Nice crew"
Nadelen: "Food, movies, and comfort were all just ok"
Voordelen: "Crew was friendly and helpful. I got some sleep on this red eye flight, surprisingly."
Nadelen: "Flew in a leased 767, 5+ hour flight. Seats had not been adjusted for US adults - very tight squeeze, both side to side and front to back, extremely uncomfortable. No in-flight entertainment (screens blank the whole trip), and minimal service - not even coffee. Terrible!!"
Voordelen: "Crew was good."
Nadelen: "Didn’t get the seats we paid for. We should have been in row 3 but ended up in row 30."
Voordelen: "Still the movies. And the wide body jet"

Voordelen: "Good basic service and ontime flights. No real frills but very adequate."

Nadelen: "The food choices were awful. Nothing that wasn't spicy. Seats not very comfortable."

Nadelen: "Our flight was delayed a little bit, but they seemed to make up for it during the flight. When we arrived to CLE it took about 45 minutes for our luggage to arrive at baggage claim. That’s not the airlines fault, but wanted to state that issue."
Voordelen: "Boarding was efficient and quick."
Nadelen: "Only drinks provided. This is the first international flight I have ever been on that provides no snacks or food unless you buy them."
Voordelen: "We missed our connection because our flight was delayed by an hour. When we arrived in Keflavik, we were directed to the service counter and they got us on a different flight departing in 5 min. We hurried to through passport control and ran to the gate. We boarded the plane and realized they sat us in first class. What a treat. To our surprise, all of our checked bags made it through as well. Icelandair is officially out new favorite airline!"
Nadelen: "Late getting out of Philadelphia which made it close call to connection."
Nadelen: "The flight was over an hour late, and at least half the plane had connecting flights within a short time span. Despite that, the airline made next to no effort to load the plane quickly, communication about connecting flights was extremely poor. I literally would have made my original flight if the attendants had moved at even remotely a reasonable speed."
Voordelen: "Friendly crew"
Nadelen: "No food at all, no snack"
Voordelen: "The crew was efficient and did a good job. The captain kept us informed. Crew did come through with drinks and water a couple times. Given a bottle of water when we boarded. Check -in and baggage drop automated and very efficient."
Nadelen: "Disabled passengers given preference for boarding, but then elderly passengers who could barely walk were made to stand for 20 minutes even though the bus to the plane was waiting just outside the door to take us to the plane. We were made to wait 2+ hours after we boarded in order to take passengers that were supposed to be on a flight to Seattle with us to Denver because their plane was taken out of service, so our 7 hour flight kept us on the plane for 9 hrs., and people missed their connecting flights. No snacks at all except for the overpriced ones you have to pay for."

Voordelen: "Entertainment selection made the 6 hour flight go by quickly."
Nadelen: "Seats where uncomfortable with poor leg room and the arm rests would not lift up so that my daughter could not easily stretch out her legs into the open middle seat between us"

Voordelen: "I checked in online as early as possible and was able to change my seat from the back of the plane to Economy comfort without any additional cost. Ended up in the front of the plane with lots of legroom and a comfortable seat. First round of drinks they provided the whole can of soda, almost unheard of on flights anymore."
Nadelen: "Boarding process was a cattle call. No boarding by back of the plane to the front or any organization, just a mass convergence on the boarding gate. If you're going to offer food on the plane for sale, at least take cash for the purchase. The only way you could buy food was to use plastic. Not a great selection of movies on the entertainment line up. The screens and volume control were quite decent, just not a large selection to choose from"
Voordelen: "The crew is excellent and the seats in economy are as comfortable as any I've seen. The movie selection isn't the newest, but the ticket prices were low enough that it seems fair. The boarding process is a little crazy, though again, not as bad as many airlines. The worst complaint is about the Reykjavik terminal, which is tiny, way overcrowded and lacking adequate shops, bathrooms, etc. PA announcements are nearly impossible to hear. Gates are too small and seating non-existent. That said, I will happily use Iceland Air for future trips to Europe."
Voordelen: "Great flight all around! Can't wait to explore!"
Voordelen: "Icelandair is friendly, helpful and comfortable. The TVs are great. The only thing that would make it perfect are more reasonably priced food choices."
Voordelen: "An eight hour flight but no food provided? Only for purchase? I can't think of any overseas flight I've had that didn't provide some type of meal."
Voordelen: "Seats relatively roomy, pillows supplied and was able to get a blanket. Unlike going out flight, they did provide drinks above a bottle of water as entered plane."
Nadelen: "No information during boarding process - flight was an hour late but that info was never supplied. Then when told to stand on line, waited another long time."
Voordelen: "Was upgraded to Saga Class on this flight - excellent meal and other service."

When we boarded our plane it was cold, and then we had to sit and wait for 45 minutes while we waited for connecting passengers. I would've preferred to be held up inside the terminal a little longer than sit on a cold plane with little communication. No water fountains at KEF"
Nadelen: "In Iceland you had to board the plane from the tarmac"

Nadelen: "Changed the security at Schiphol which made it so much longer."
Voordelen: "The plane made it to the destination."
Nadelen: "No complimentary snacks. Food for purchase was not good."

Nadelen: "Tiny seats (average sized male here - trust - they are tiny) All food is charged (not a single piece of free food was offered; $8/sandwich) Lost luggage - I've never dealt with airline personnel (in person & over phone) that displayed such a level of apathy. Compensation ceiling: $99. They apologized about the incident as if they were sorry that it was raining that day - not losing 2 pieces of luggage and not having any means to track them. Check-in personnel: They only gave me a single luggage tag for 3 pieces of luggage - they should have given me 3. Would have made tracing lost luggage easier. Employee @ IAD told me that if I didn't show up at the boarding gate 40 minutes prior to boarding that they would remove my luggage from airplane and that I could risk losing flight (wtf?). Icelandair is one of the worst airlines I have ever flown. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They may offer rates 20% cheaper than other major carriers, but that discount accompanies a steep price. It's an airline run by inexperienced, lackluster, apathetic staff who, frankly, have no business operating an airline. If your options are flying with a major carrier vs Icelandair - and the price difference is a few hundred $: pay the extra money; you'll be glad you did. Icelandair's prices are not low enough to justify all the discomforts and liabilities which accompany them. Look elsewhere. Keep this in mind: I'm a seasoned flyer. This airlines barely ranks one notch up from Ryanair."
Nadelen: "Delayed flight leading to 4 hours lost and a transfer through Copenhagen No food unless you pay Staff not very nice"
Nadelen: "Depending on the seat you get (aisle, middle, or window) you either can or cannot fit anything under the seat in front of you. Each seat has different space. What I usually take wouldn't fit anywhere but the window. The middle seat space is USELESS as there is something installed that MAY give you about 6 inches from floor to it. The aisle seat's forward under space is a cube shape, so typical carry-ons won't fit there either. As I slept the whole way to Reykyavik, I don't know much about the service. The under seat space may lead me to not booking Icelandair again."
Voordelen: "Nice warm blankets."
Nadelen: "45 minutes to change planes and go through customs and use the restrooms is too short."
Voordelen: "Exit row seating was comfortable with plenty of legroom."
Nadelen: "Delayed flight with no communication from boarding gate. Knew about delay from Kayak hours before we heard about it at the airport."
Nadelen: "There were 3-4 flights all boarding in the same gate area at the same time. It was a sea of people and made boarding and waiting very difficult."
Nadelen: "No complimentary food"
Voordelen: "This was probably the worst flight I have ever been on (and I have flown internationally a lot - and travel weekly for work purposes Icelandair - hands you a bottle of water and you never see the flight attendant again - this for a 6 hour flight!!!!!! the plane was extremely hot there was no communication to tell people what was going on, that we were late, agents to help - etc etc - nothing needless to say - I will never fly Icelandair again others were worse then us - some had no flight to be redirected too - and side note - the customer service counter at Birmingham - had NO ONE there for over an hour - they had to finally call someone to come down and help the many people there"
Nadelen: "Icelandair was delayed out of Chicago - but the agent stated our flight would be fine - we would only be arriving 15 min late - and even so - they would "hold" the flight" . We arrived and ran to the gate- people were still boarding - gate was open and the agent said to us and others - oh you are the Chicago people - you have to go to customer service. We find out we have been "bumped" off the flight and placed on a new flight 2 hours later with a non direct flight - we have to go through Birmingham now. We are delayed again out of Iceland and get into Birmingham 1 hour late. We were never told that we had to reclaim our luggage. When we preceded to reclaim our luggage - there was NO luggage. and spent over an hours looking for it Icelandair never put our bags on the plane - and stated they would go on flights sometime the next day - we still have no word"
Voordelen: "Check in and boarding went okay"
Nadelen: "Constant delays. All planes were boarded at least 30-45 minutes later than expected and the late boarding delay on one of the flights caused the plane to miss a flight window and the entire plane had to sit on the tarmac for almost 3 hours. This extra time on the tarmac caused me to miss my connecting flight and I had to sit at the airport for over 8 hours waiting for the next available flight. Also, no complimentary food was given on a flight that long."
