I am very disappointed."

The staff did not help and the manager kept walking off to assist other people while in the middle of conversation! We could have made our flight of they were a bit more helpful and attentive. The staff was very unprofessional, extremely rude and ignored our concerns of not being able to sit with our 7year old daughter, at least one of us! They found us a flight to Seattle which then connected to Chicago but expected us to pay for the plane tickets since they denied responsibility for having lost our luggage. They said it was our fault we missed our flight. It was such a terrible experience for my family."

Everybody missed their connecting flight and had to then wait in a long line to get on whatever was next available. There was not enough signage or people working to tell us where we needed to go; we waiting in the customs line first before we realized we weren't going to make our flight, then had to wait in the other line to get on a later flight. It was very hectic and nobody knew where they needed to be or what was going on. Plus, customs took so long that we probably would have missed our flight anyway, even if it didn't arrive late in Seattle. It was an awful experience after traveling for 20 hours."

Voordelen: "Everything felt comfortable and clean on my first flight on Hainan. I sat in economy and overall it was a great experience, especially considering what I paid from Chicago to Shenzhen via Beijing. The food might be slightly better on Cathay Pacific, but I really have no complaints about it. It was tasty and relatively healthy. It wasn’t oversalted and on long flights that makes a huge beneficial difference. You can always go to the galley and grab a simple sandwich if you need something between meals. Overall it was an excellent experience."

That is my only real complaint about this airline. The food was was okay."

Then the doors were not closed for more than 10 minutes after all passengers were on board, again no announcement, no we’re sorry. The beverage selection was only water, juice or tea. For food no veggie option was available. The crew’s English was pretty bad. The cabin was not clean - the side of a seat more in front was sprayed with some brown liquid. Getting out of the plane we had to wait very long because every passenger de boarding had to be checked on a list, and only one Hainan staff was doing this. Overall I do not understand how this can be a five star airline."

Nadelen: "US Immigration and customer at BOS was extremely slow. Even though I am a US citizen and had 3 hours until the next leg, time was still very tight for my transfer."
Voordelen: "I picked up the wrong luggage and returned it to their office. The officer was very responsible and called me and kept my luggage in good shape. The ticket was cheaper, but service is better than US airlines."

And trying to get a hold of them to get reimbursed for the cost of buying some essential items is impossible! Then on my way back home the flight was delayed and I missed my connecting flight in Seattle so I had to sit at the Seattle Airport for almost 12 hours after a 20 hour trip. I know that there were earlier flights from Seattle to Calgary but they said they didn't have good relationships with the other airlines. I know that flight delays are common but I really think they could have made this inconvenience up to me by getting me a food voucher or offer me a hotel to rest for the afternoon."

Nadelen: "Bathroom was dirty and not enough tissue paper. Favoring to certain passengers on board and not having any courtesy or caring for other passengers. Foods were mediocre and not supplying to the passengers at the departure location dinner time; instead of providing to San Jose dinner time at 7pm but the meal was provided at 1am after the midnight."

I felt like I’m an illegal immigrant. In the hotel there was no slipper no toothbrushes. They should’ve provided us a kit"

Nadelen: "Went to SVO at 6 AM on June 11th for flight at 8:10 AM to Brussels. Waited in line to check-in untl 7:23 AM Because of long lines at check-in (Russia Day, apparently) and inadequate staffing for the large numbers, I succeeded in getting through passport control and security ten minutes before flight time, only to be told "no Flight" I had to buy another ticket for the next day at a second fare, all because of Aeroflot' s inadequate staffing. Aeroflot service desk only told me to " go back into the city" where I found an Aeroflot office. After meeting three staff members in succession there, they made no effort to make good on their error. I will avoid AEROFLOT on all future travel. Brussels and Amsterdam airports were so much better set up to handle the crowds"

Un grand merci au personnel de cabine mais le responsable au sol .... Mais en plus de 10 vol Ave Etihad c'est ma seul mauvaise expérience et de plus j'ai payer 200fr pour changer de vol et arriver 4 h 30 plus tôt résultat gagné 30 minutes oups"

Au bout de 2h de négociation nous avons obtenu une chambre d'hotel de 1h du matin à 6h.... pour reprendre le vol suivant à 8h30.... Aucune indemnisation, ni surclassement, as même un code wifi .... COMPAGNIE A EVITER A TOUT PRIS, c'est du LOW COST et le SAV est CATASTROPHIQUE. Nadelen: "snacks and water were haphazardly just lying around at the back when I walked around to make sure my legs didn't die from the 16 hour flight. Even though it should be a much less busy time to be assisted, air hostesses would just point you to the drinks when you ask for water or whatever, which explained why the back was so messy because essentially it turned into a self service snack bar. I observed this for both of my 16 hour flights."

Nadelen: "I expected that I would have the priviledge to check in 2 bags but was informed that I had to pay 400+rmb extra last minute to include my 2nd bag. The zipper on my suitcase had been opened by someone and now will not properly close after I retrieved my bag when I arrived in Incheon International airport in South Korea. I hope that I will not have problems with my suitcase when I complete the last 2 parts of my trip back to the U.S. from Korea"

Nadelen: "Something to be aware of: It's the People's Republic of China. They tell you this in the announcements. You're not supposed to use your cell phone at all in flight, even in airplane mode. Some government inspectors went through my checked suitcase and removed a lithium power pack and left me a note."

Nadelen: "Food was the worst I have had in memory. Crew are also the worst I have experienced in memory."

Nadelen: "The boarding area at the Wuhan airport is miserable. There was one tiny shop to buy some snacks, and nothing else. There was a completely empty Duty Free store, and no available food options - even though it was in the middle of the day. My flight departed from Gate 2, International Terminal. The entertainment options in the flight were plenty, however, the sound on my system did not work. Therefore, I was not able to use the system throughout the entire 14 hour flight."
Voordelen: "During the transit ( 11 hours in the night at the guangzhou airport) ..the company offerd me for free a room in a 4 stras hotel....so wonderfull ....I think this service exist only in China..maybe in southern china :)"
Voordelen: "I had just suffered multiple breaks in my arm/shoulder and was returning to the States. I was in considerable pain and flying alone - this was the first flight out I could get. Everyone was AMAZING. From helping to rearrange seats, other passengers, and even upgrade to maximize comfort and minimize more damage to my arm to helping open any food packages so that I could eat with medication and checking in on me frequently, I couldn't have asked for better attention given the situation. I hadn't heard of this airline before but now highly recommend - they were amazing through two flight legs, two different airline crews, and 3 airports. Cannot thank the crew enough for their attention and care during a very difficult time. I am a frequent traveler and this is the best customer experience I've ever had."

Nadelen: "Flight was delayed. Staff was unorganized and had no clue what was going on. flight was delayed again and again but the staff at the gate neglected to inform the customers who were waiting for hours what wasn't going on. And to top it off, they couldn't speak English..."

Nadelen: "They changed my flight hours before I was due to leave to another flight the arrived later then my connecting flight left. They offered to change the flight to one that would cause a 23 hour layover in Ghangzhou. They refused to pay for accommodation or even upgrade me for the inconvenience. The customer service representatives were rude and not helpful. I ended up having to get a refund. I flew with Korean Airlines and had a great experience. I'll never consider using them again."
Nadelen: "On a 2:20hr flight they start movie 20-30 minutes after takeoff and turn off at top of descent (22 mins before landing) Why consistently show 2hr (avg) length movies (in the case X-Men Apocalypse), thus on last 3 flights on this route, no movie has been finished. Either start earlier/end later or pick Videos that fit in the time window they offer for viewing"
