If you ask for something the answer was sorry we don’t have. The wifi didn’t work properly and now you have to pay for that. My seat, 87K didn’t work, it was blocked and I couldn’t reclined. Emirates used to be very good airline but not anymore."

Few people on the plane - Was great! The plane was late to board and over an hour late to arrive. They said it was airport control. How can these things not be booked it advance? Very frustrating!

Nadelen: "The plane is too small I couldn't go to the path room because the floor was busy by the cabin crew because of the food and the drink service also the Bahrain air port is too poor regarding Gulf air agents in Manama, this is my last flight with gulf air and I will not recommend to my friends."
Voordelen: "I was rerouted entirely to fly with Austrian Air, and only landed 2 hours later than scheduled, which was nice."
Nadelen: "My Gulf Air flight from Bangkok to Paris was delayed 7 hours which would make me miss my connection to Paris in Bahrain...and they wanted to put me on a new flight that would have me layover in Bahrain for more than 18 hours, and landing in Paris 24 hours later than planned. I politely said no and asked them to find me something else, and they did--so that was good. But the suggested alternative for a 7 hour delay was absolutely ridiculous. Also, the 7 hour delay was never explained and no other flights were delayed, so I guess it was something wrong with the plane?"

Voordelen: "The crew is extremely attentive without being intrusive. They provided anything we requested. Food was excellent. The hot towels, mint lemonade, and dates before takeoff were great touches. The business class seats are the same ones I've seen in 1st Class on other carriers. Holding a business ticket earns you access to the Falcon Gold lounge in Bahrain where we also received excellent service and ate great food. They are clearly trying to earn recognition as a top airline."

Overall experience except baggage collection in Chicago was good. In Chicago, baggages from many flights routed to single domestic carousel that had caused lots of mess and many had to wait for more than 90 minutes to collect the baggage as Etihad baggages were released in pockets due to priorities given to other domestic flights baggage

Food could be better

Etihad keep cancelling their flight just by a email and without rescheduling. It happened to more than four times and every time I had to call them for rescheduling. Really bad reservation system.

Nadelen: "No screens or headphones on board, you had to download an app on your phone and use your own earphones to watch a very limited amount of films/tv shows. Very tight seats, not reclining enough. It was like being on a low cost flight but for 5 hours. Very uncomfortable."

Nadelen: "On arrival at Sydney, discovered my bag damaged. The metal cage that holds the handle slider had been broken so they must have really thumped the bag. Re windows and cabin lighting. Flight left Abu Dhabi at 21:50, landed Sydney at 17:50 next day. The cabin was kept in darkness until 3pm Sydney time / 9am Abu Dhabi time. This only gave us 2 hours of daylight on Tuesday, terrible in trying to adjust to a new timezone!! Even going off Abu Dhabi time, why wait till 9am to turn on the lights and raise the windows? No-one sleeps that long and it creates too much darkness. Please turn on the lights and raise window shades a few hours earlier to help our body clocks adjust. The view of the world outside the window is also interesting! Re entertainment system: with some airlines you can use the entertainment system immediately on embarking but with Etihad you have to wait till airborne. Considering boarding begins an hour before departure, that is a long time to sit waiting without being able to use the entertainment system. Re comfort: I don't know why, but the Etihad A380 seats have this weird head rest on one side that can't be folded flat. I found it quite annoying. Also when you recline the seat, it also goes forward scrunching you towards the seat in front. I found the Emirates A380 seat a lot roomier and more comfortable."

Voordelen: "The seats on the flight were TREMENDOUSLY uncomfortable. As a 6’1” tall, male, I truly felt like a sardine in a can on the flight. And, for a 7-hrs flight, the food made available, I did not find to be sufficient."
Voordelen: "The crew were very understanding and tried to help as much as they could with the issues encountered. Many out of their control."
Nadelen: "This flight is one I have done a couple of times in the last year. This will be the last time doing it. It is basically a transit flight for people to get to India and the sub continent. The food is all curry based and as a westerner found it not to my taste, only having a curried vegetarian option as the meal “options” is unbelievable. The plane is jam packed which is fine, but the smell of some of the other passengers was horrendous. There must be a rule that passengers shower in the week leading up to the flight at least. My wife and I both had incidents of people pushing in front in every queue from boarding (lack of control by ground staff as random people joining First/Business/Gold line as moving first) to bathrooms (myself and two others waiting patiently before a woman pushed into bathroom before person even got out, then blocked our passage in to let her family member in), hitting us with bags when disembarking and then completely blocking walkways with no consideration for other passengers. We have now agreed that we will fly through any other city/route to avoid this terrible experience being repeated."

Voordelen: "Après une heure dans l'avion sans climatisation malgré un personnel de bord irréprochable (distribution de boissons) on nous annonce le débarquement, diriger et abandonne dans un terminal malgré un repas offert, pas d'information après renseignement auprès d'un accompagnant de tour operator j'apprend qu'il faut se rendre à la même porte où nous embarqueront avec 4 heures de retard. Un grand merci au personnel de cabine mais le responsable au sol .... Mais en plus de 10 vol Ave Etihad c'est ma seul mauvaise expérience et de plus j'ai payer 200fr pour changer de vol et arriver 4 h 30 plus tôt résultat gagné 30 minutes oups"

Voordelen: "I managed to find a MUCH cheaper deal through Kayak, cheaper than directly through the airline (£200 cheaper in fact!), which was a great start to the trip. I was emailed a confirmation that my booking had been accepted through the airline within minutes, and it was easy to workout how to check myself in. Then I had zero hassles on the flights, so I'm really pleased with the service. I was even lucky enough to have a whole row to myself on both of my flights from England to Australia, which on a +24hr flight can be an absolute godsend. Staff were all friendly even encouraging us to move to alternate seats given there was sufficient space. The air crafts were tidy and it was easy transitioning from each connecting flight. Absolutely no hassle at all."
Nadelen: "The only points were that the inflight entertainment from Manchester to Abu Dhabi was a tiny step below standard but great choice in terms of films to watch, my second flight was on an A380 so there was an obvious difference in design standard between the 2 planes making the first flight less desirable, and the food was OK at best. On one of my flights I didn't eat the heated meal, any sides and only ate some of the dessert given the flavour was quite poor. An airline could do to raise the taste bar standard."

Là fut notre erreur car lors de la correspondance à Abu dhabi nous étions de nouveau surbooké à 23h00 ! malgré nos borading pass. Au bout de 2h de négociation nous avons obtenu une chambre d'hotel de 1h du matin à 6h.... pour reprendre le vol suivant à 8h30.... Aucune indemnisation, ni surclassement, as même un code wifi .... COMPAGNIE A EVITER A TOUT PRIS, c'est du LOW COST et le SAV est CATASTROPHIQUE. Nadelen: "the plane from Bangkok to abu dhabi was delayed which miss my flight from abu dhabi to Bahrain waiting over 9 hours to fly into Bahrain basically the flight sucked."
Voordelen: "The food was delicious (there was lamb at multiple meals) and the flight attendants had everyone close the windows so as to help with the jet lag."
Nadelen: "I had a lot of issues with Etihad this trip. First, they changed our return date no less than 3 different times, one of them by more than 2 days. Then, they wouldn't allow us to pick up our checked luggage for our layover in Abu Dhabi because it was under 24 hours long. Unfortunately, while we made our connecting flight the next day, our luggage did not. We ended up spending 3 days without luggage, and ultimately went to the airport ourselves in order to make our tour."

Voordelen: "Service in the Economy class was a nightmare. The air hostesses do not respond fast, take hours to get a glass of water and sometimes even don't bother to get you what you have asked for."

Voordelen: "The plane was very clean and looked fairly new. The take off and landing were gentle & the cabin crew was very nice. The food was 5 star (for plane food) and service was excellent."
Nadelen: "The air temperature was hot upon boarding, after take off we asked about the temp and it had gotten turned up. They were quick to reset for a more comfortable ride."
