Agents need to be more diligent with where they are sending bags and to double- and triple-check before he luggage is sent down the ramps."

We arrived and checked in well before the 1 hour cutoff and we were under the weight limit, so there was no reason for our baggage to be left behind. We were informed that our bags would NOT be delivered to us at our next destination, that the burden was on us to retrieve them AND there was no stipend or any type of refund to compensate us for the inconvenience. Since we were continuing our travel by road to Uganda, we had to pay extra to have a driver return to the airport the next day to retrieve and deliver our bags. This is very, very poor customer service!"

Nadelen: "Check-in closes one hour before your flight. Economy class: Food was a clingwrapped sandwich. The attendant gave me two bottles of a good South African wine. Security has gotten quite uptight at Kigali airport. They now stop your cab a couple hundred meters short of the airport, and have a dog check the vehicle. You have to pass through another security checkpoint at the entry to the airport building, and a third security into the boarding area. The final security check even takes away any empty bottles you have. And don't take any fingernail scissors in your handcarry, even if they have blunt points. You may have an hour or more wait in preboarding, and without water or bathroom excess. So takke care of these needs in advance."

When I arrive at the airport I was told the flight was over booked and giving a stand by boarding card. There were about 15 of us with stand by. Only two were denied boarding. Although they did not say so it was clear it was because it was a Kayak reservation. It took 3 1/2 hours in Istanbul airport to get a boarding pass on the next flight. I spoke to eight Turkish Airway representatives. None of them were helpful. Each shifted me to another office elsewhere in the airport without giving me clear direction. Apparently the issue was that they did not want o pay compensation although I never asked for this. In the final office back outside passport control I said I was looking for a boarding pass not compensation.. They gave me on on the 6:10 pm flight and had me sign a statement that I had received 600 Euros in compensation. When I arrive at JFK, my bag was not on the flight. They say they will deliver it today."

We spend the next 2 hours trying to get boarding pass for the next day's flight and the hotel. Again, no apologies nor explanation were given. Thank you Turkish Airline for wasting 1 day of my life. I will try to avoid this airline in the future."

There was nothing I could do about this but bite the bullet & accept what I got since I was not allowed to have any corrections made after paying for this ticket. I am highly disappointed with Kayak. The first time you have disappointed me greatly!"

Nadelen: "Poor crew service--amazingly slow (my general THY service experience has been great, but in this leg crew did not respond to calls for almost 20-30 minutes). After meals, most people took their own empty trays to return them behind (because the crew had not picked up after 30+ minutes). The meals arrived cold as well. My entertainment set froze after 4 hours in a 13 hours trip, and was not attended to after repeated calls. One conscientious Turkish stewardess was very helpful in the 9th hour (literally), even if the entertainment did not come back on. To top these, I was sandwiched between a teenager on front and teenagers on right, who were loud and generally weird (obviously not the airlines fault). So, it ended up being a mediocre experience overall."

Just one of the worst experiences ever. The crew on the flight from Tokyo to Istanbul, also very rude and cold. The food was really bad, the egg was terrible!"

There were all these secret ways of getting help that they said we didn't qualify for. Supervisors and managers were not available unless I left their desk and went to departures. They said I would have to go back through immigration.. but thankfully, right before I did, someone came and spoke to me. From our several interactions, we received no apologies, but felt that the theme was that everything was my fault.. not the best feeling as a customer. Only my one chat with the supervisor was very nice. She was very patient, sat down with me and helped direct my concerns. Especially with a 13 hour delay. Nairobi seemed great, but our interactions with the staff really took away from our experience. And we missed our vacation in the end.."

Nadelen: "Kenya changed my flight to two hours later 18 hours before I was to leave. Making me have a 10 minute connection. Then after an hour in a airline office they promised to hold my connection. When my flight landed on time, they did not hold my connection. So they changed my flight and didn’t follow through on the fix. We would now miss wedding activities and business meetings. Then my partner got sick and they refused to taxi us to hotel for the night but take a bus that leaves every three hours. Her sickness got worse and there was a Kenyan airlines doctor who evaluated her at the airport after waiting 40 minutes laying at check in with her crying due to pain. We had a medical release from the doctor saying she needed extra space to lay down but the check in manager refused to make room for her saying the flight is full and she would not upgrade her to accommodate the medical release because we had an economy ticket. My partner looked so bad that the flight crew considered kicking us off but eventually made the space for her to lay down and were helpful on the flight. This is this disgraceful and the worst experience I’ve had with any company."
Voordelen: "The flight itself was fine, no issues with that."
Nadelen: "Had a long layover in Addis, schedule should be better. But with more than 6 hr layover, they still lost my bag. No one contacted me when it made it to the airport. The site did not reflect it either. I left work on the second day to go check and there it was, under a few other bags, which gave the impression it had been there waiting a day already. Going to try and avoid Kenya airways in the future if possible."
Voordelen: "customer service was superb entertainment screens and selection was excellent seats were among the best on any airline. The plane was a seemingly fairly new Boeing Dreamliner, very nice"
Nadelen: "Food was good but not spectaular - not up to Singapore Airlines for example but better than most other long haul carriers"
Nadelen: "Seats were not very confortable"
Voordelen: "The plane and flight crew were fine"
Nadelen: "Overbooked flight- cancelled many people's trips! A dozen people with printed out and confirmed flights were turned away and asked to book with other airlines. Anyone who didn't checkin online was left at the airport- even those who booked, paid in full, and confirmed in person at the Kenya Airways office the day before. And we were all at the airport hours early. The ground staff in Arusha had no idea how to check people into the flight. They lied to us about what was happening and wouldn't update us about how they overbooked. They tried to email the main office and refused to just call them on the phone. I only got on the flight because I ignored their suggestion to 'just go sit down and let them work it out'. For people who did what they were told- they all missed the flight. I did online checkin on my phone and then all of a sudden there was a seat for me on the plane and I got on. Everyone else was left at the airport with no idea what was happening. I normally love Kenya Airways, but this level of overbooking and incompetent ground staff made me change my mind."

Nadelen: "Boarding lines were a bit chaotic."

Nadelen: "As with the outbound flight the my screen didn't work. Seats were not particularly comfortable. Food was tolerable. Bag was not transferred from my Arusha flight but I guess that is not Kenya Airways fault."
Nadelen: "Equipment, old plane with hard seats, no entertainment."
Nadelen: "With the exception of one male flight attendant who was friendly and professional, the Kenya airways flight attendants were surly, invompetent and unprofessional. One yelled at us for asking if we could get a vegetarian meal (on the advice of another Kenya airways flight attendant). Another only bothered to give water to the first 2/3 of the plane and then for some unknown reason simply stopped passing out water. All three of the Kenya airways fights were late but no one said so or why. I would avoid this airline at all costs."

Voordelen: "The flight was delayed in leaving but the Captain didn't say anything until we were about to land. The overnight flight was pleasant but the food was pretty mediocre."
Nadelen: "Crew were pretty good and the Dreamliner is an excellent aircraft, particularly in business class."
Nadelen: "They lost one piece of baggage. The check-in crew said we were required to have our vaccination cards although nobody asked for them. Then we waited an hour pulling off one piece of baggage and then they didn't load it on our flight."
Voordelen: "Small seas no leg room and broken entertainment screen"

Voordelen: "Nothing noteworthy was done well."
Nadelen: "The boarding staff is incompetent resulting in a 2+ hour boarding time. No control or concern for boarding zones, multiple unnecessary and inconsistent ticket checks, and unclear process. If you took 300 toddlers, made 50 of them gate agents and said board an airplane, you would get about the same result. Food and crew in flight were mediocre. Entertainment system in the seat back doesn’t work, shuts off in the middle of films, and is for some reason controlled by the wrong arm rest. I was in the aisle seat, my arm rest control panel did not control anything, but every time my neighbor shifted her arm it changed the volume on my system. Ethiopian airlines is what failure looks like."

Voordelen: "The flight was four hours delayed in Djibouti and there was absolutely zero, NO communication, whatsoever, provided by the Djibouti Ethiopian Airlines staff what was going on, how long the flight was going to be delayed, or if it was actually complete canceled for that evening."
Nadelen: "Flight ET365 was scheduled to leave Djibouti at 19:00 but did not leave until 23:30, without any screen information or by the Ethiopian Airlines staff at JIB airport how long the delay would be or if the flight was completely cancelled. Extremely unprofessional and ignorant handling of the situation"
Nadelen: "Everything starting from the check in to on board restrooms"
Voordelen: "Very good,on time good service"
Nadelen: "Better seats on business in boing 737 800"
Voordelen: "Very conformable and quiet."
Nadelen: "Nothing very nice flight."
Nadelen: "Flight was delayed by nearly 4 hours due to a cargo loading issue in Mombasa. Communication from Ethiopian Airlines staff regarding the issue & delay was very poor. Passengers were becoming very anxious and tense regarding the flight, if it would depart, and the safety of the plane. Improved communication from the Ethiopian Airline staff would have gone a long way to calming the situation and reassuring passengers."
Nadelen: "I was overbooked in Addis"
Voordelen: "But no in flight entertainment on the Addis to Tel Aviv leg"

Nadelen: "flight was cancelled and i only got to know it after traveling first leg of the tip - then got rerouted for next 36 hrs. Now acceptable for both KAYAK and ET Airline"
Nadelen: "The landing was terrible and quite dangerous. It was a lopsided and the plane was about to tip forward when we hit the ground. I was quite disturbed on arrival. I’m glad to say the we were lucky that webdid not have an unfortunate incident."
Nadelen: "Addis Airport is a NIGHTMARE!!! It took two hours to check in and the lines were insane. It was absolute chaos, people pushing and airport staff did little to manage it. We almost missed our flight because the lines and process was so disorganized. The plane ride - the plane was old. My seat was so old, the cushion was worn down to the point of feeling like a bucket seat. This was really bad..."
Voordelen: "Although we had abou an hour delay, we arrived only thirty minutes after the scheduled time. The flight crew was very nice and friendly."
Nadelen: "The touchscreen did not work very well; was only able I o see one movie but is was an overnight flight so it wasn’t too much at a hassle."
Voordelen: "New plane but movies are old. Too sad"
Nadelen: "Toilets and hygiene"
Nadelen: "That the Airline choose to take Russsian paid load, cargo. And decided to off load the Luggage of 25 passengers. Some of them even had connecting Flights. Luggage tags were not matching with the names, so it became difficult to actually track the bags. Not funny..."

Nadelen: "Somewhat dirty ( and smelly ) aircraft even though they are a very new fleet. Some seats had strange patches and stains. Overall cabin experience can be improved in terms of hygiene and food quality ( food was mediocre or slightly worse)"
Nadelen: "The entire flight was fully booked and plane full of people with bad hygiene whose smell was so offensive that I was nauseous. My friend and I were the only two Western people on the plane and forced to sit in the last row of the plane next to the toilets. Passengers were rude and pushed us during boarding, on the bus, and when leaving the plane. It was disgusting."

Nadelen: "The return journey time from Dublin sucks... 6am flight, so u have to stay up all night pretty much... If they could change that, it would be amazing... Food not great, so you would be better off bringing your own stuff..."

Voordelen: "Boarding at the gate was atrocious. Very slow and not organized and we left late because of that. The crew was very nice. Food was good. Entertainment was ok. Movies were old and could have been up to date not enough bathrooms per amount of people on board (relative to other aircrafts)."

Nadelen: "Hi, I have asked 3 members of the crew to get me a glass of water from the time I boarded the flight. It took 45 minutes for them to hand me a glass of water. I have to wait till they all got settled. Only when them to start the service they were able to give me some water. I was really thirsty otherwise, I wouldn't have to ask for three members. I think it's important that they respond more promptly and do a quick service considering the long flight we have."

Nadelen: "Poor variety of food, it's either take it or leave it! Make sure to order your food while booking or get ready to suffer!"

Nadelen: "I used kayak to book the flight and the website provided had the incorrect web address for checking in. When I went directly to the Ethiopian airline website they wouldn't allow me to online check in. I called the agency and I couldn't be connected to anyone. I missed the physical check in by 4 minutes and no one was at the counter to help me reschedule. Really disappointing."
Voordelen: "Flight was delayed over two hours, because of shortage of aviation fule causing delay in fuelling aircraft"
Voordelen: "Plane from AA to tA seats very cramped and seats do not recline."
Nadelen: "Everything went wrong. The flight arrived 40 minutes late and I missed my connecting flight because they closed the gate before I could get there. As a result, when I asked both airlines involved (Brussels Air and Portugal Air (TAP) what to do, each airline blamed the other airline for the problem and each said it was my problem to fix. After speaking with ten people and begging them to make the problem right for a problem I did not create, they finally issued me a new ticket but I had to wait 24 hours for the new flight to leave. It was a total breakdown in communication and organization and customer support and problem resolution on the part of the airlines and the airport. I never want to fly these airlines again and never want to take a flight with connections."

Nadelen: "i went to the (galley?) at the back and politely requested a drink, a member of staff refused me because they were just about to begin serving drinks. that's stupid. i was sat right at the back of the plane and wouldn't get a drink for at least 20 minutes because service starts in the middle and works back. fortunately another member of staff (older, female) just reached over and handed me a drink, because she understood it was easier and quicker and more reasonable to do that than to be a dick about it."

You could tell moldings on seat were very old. one bathroom had no soap, dispenser was broken. I hope this is not your pratice to use your older planes for those traveling to Africa. I will observe this as I travel back to Brussel and on to US."

Nadelen: "Could not get my boarding pass before reaching my last terminal because it was not ready from Montreal or Toronto, and no staff were available elsewhere in the airport. this prevented me from making necessary purchases to bring with me to Kinshasa, my final destination."
