Nadelen: "Boarding is shambolic - no signs, no announcements, no disciplined queuing system. Business class sears old-fashioned, not horizontal, uncomfortable. Impossible to get to first class lounge until the Emirates desk opens (we had a 5-hour wait before we could go to security as we couldn’t go through until the desk opened to take checked luggage. They appear unfamiliar with boarding passes on the phone - wanted paper ones."

Voordelen: "The departure & arrival time. A fantastic price that included an excellent meal there and back, 30k luggage quota, entertainment that lasted throughout the duration of the flight. It just seemed seamless and felt like it didn't take that long to get there. I will definitely be catching this flight, every time I return to NZ"

Voordelen: "Not confortable at all! I was in the middle seat in the center of the plane and hD to get up every time people had to use the restroom. I could not sleep at all in the 14 hour flight - not to mention after a 6 hour delay - with poor communication on what the delays were all about. 4 different times the flight was delayed with no explanation. I liked nothing about this overpriced, under served flight."
Nadelen: "6 hours delayed in Sydney and nobody was telling us what was going on. I got sick while waiting, and was in a lot of pain all the way home. Also i had to pay $304 change fee to change my flight to Sydney to SFO from the original Melbourne to LAX To SFO thinking since I was coming home from Sydney I could change to a direct flight to SFO and get home early, but it took about 6 hours later because of the delay and I lost $304 in change fees even though I booked the fight via reward mileage and gave up 80,000 miles for this flight, and on top of that, when I changed the Sydney to SFO flight the system would not let me change my seat and I was booked in the middle of the plane in the middle in a 4 person row with 3 seats on the right and 3 on the left. I always fly in the window seat to help me sleep easier and not have to get up every time someone had to use the restroom. This was a 14 hour flight and I got no sleep at all and the 6 hour delay killed me. This was an awful experience and I don’t believe the $304 charge was worth it considering I paid 80,000 miles + taxes. I am complaining to executive management all the way to the top about this terrible expensive poor experience."

Nadelen: "Flying on 8 Jan is a time when there a lot of holiday makers heading home or perhaps just going on holiday. Lots of young children and a baby crying right behind me wasn't the most relaxing but I realise that nothing can be done about that."

Got leg cramps trying to shuffle out sideways stooped over row of seats in front and rear hitting faces of occupants in my row. Refuse to fly on this airline any more until reasonable seat spacing is provided for price paid. Don't like standing up the whole flight because one cannot get into or out of seat."

Also everytime they served us food it seemed lime yhey didnt have enough of the choices we were given as the crew had run out of our choices all the time making choose things we didnt lie"

You could not request seats ahead of time and would tell you check in online and when you tried it would fail and told us to go to the airport which we did the day before and they told us they couldn’t do anything. Every agent told us something different about meal plans and seats. Crew onboard were not friendly and rude to us in economy. The vegetarian meal requested was awful and ended up being vegan which was not what we requested. When I asked for fruit plate off the regular menu the flight attendant never followed back up with me and so we didn’t eat any food for on a 15+ hour flight. Even though they had 100+ empty seats we couldn’t move around. Overall I was highly disappointed in their service on this flight."

They were so understanding and told me to find an empty isle seat like I wanted!! They made my flight to Australia so comfortable! My veggies meals were all on time! Great experience with staff in domestic flights too!!. Flight from Gold Coast to Sydney was excellent. Great service, indeed !!!"

Voordelen: "I had a nose bleed (a side effect of treatment that I had), and although it wasnt causing me great distress, a crew member noticed it and slipped me a few extra tissues without making a fuss about it. That was very much appreciated."

When I called to get it fixed I waited on hold for 30 minutes before I got through. Once we got on original flight they gave away seats we paid extra for and gave us no refund."

Nadelen: "The jack for the TV was broken! For seat 4H during my flight from Helsinki to Tokyo. I paid a business class ticket but had No audio for the television! This should be fixed immediately and I think I should receive something for the inconvenience and in return for the high price ticket I purchased!"

Therefore, I was not able to pick a seat, which I would have paid to upgrade if necessary, but instead I was assigned a middle seat as a last option, at the counter, and paid for an exit row which, except for the leg room, was just as uncomfortable!"

Voordelen: "Given the choice I would hands down pick Finnair over a US based carrier the Europeans provide bigger seats and better service... Little things like hot towels, extra wine and chocolate after meals was truly appreciated..."
Nadelen: "Im an amateur traveler and I could have used a little more info at the gate and about getting to my connection I had no idea where it was and that you had to go through a passport line to catch the connection. Came close to missing my connection..."

Nadelen: "Plane was late leaving Helsinki due to broken latch, which made us late getting into Chicago. After landing we waited at least 45 minutes to get to a gate. It took at least 30 minutes to get off the plane and then getting through customs was a nightmare. Arrival board at O'Hare said plane was on time, but listed gate as 0, which of course doesn't exist so our ride home had no idea what was going on or what was taking so long and ended up waiting over three hours for us to get through everything to meet them."

Nadelen: "Not that I did not like it but it was more like a surprise to me to have not seen a single Finnish in the crew ... Again, nothing wrong, simple surprising..."

Nadelen: "I don't live in Riga and had pick up scheduled in Rigas airport to take me home to Telsiai, Lithuania. Because flight was delayed and I had to fly to Talin and then to RigaI I arrived at 10pm plus took me another 30min to figure out what happened with my luggage. I am still in Riga waiting for the morning to schedule another ride home. Very long , inconvenient trip ;-("

Nadelen: "It is ridiculous that they would not allow you to select a seat for free at check-in. There were many unoccupied seats, but some families with children were seated separately, so there was a lot of seat changing before the take off."

Voordelen: "The flight to and from Los Angeles was operated by British Airways and was on one of their Airbus fleet. Boarding was completed efficiently and with ease. I sat on the upper deck and was very comfortable in comparison to other major airlines previously used for this particular flight. The plane was very clean and the crew were outstanding. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for crew, and they were ready with beverages, including tea and coffee, and snacks throughout the flight. In flight entertainment was good. All in all very pleasant flight to and from the U K."

Nadelen: "I have asked repeatedly for the airline to give out the boarding passes and check bags at least three hours before the flight. Between long lines, security checks and a limited amount of time from when we get our boarding passes, one can not enjoy Budapest Airport!"

Nadelen: "Check in line was terrible, I had checked in online but still waited over a hour to bag drop, service was not great either the flight attendants were not happy at thier job.."

Nadelen: "We waited 3 hours to fix a water problem on the tarmack and were seated in the middle of a large group of school kids. Would have been happier without those 2 elements."

Voordelen: "The crew members were pleasant"
Nadelen: "I had to pay an additional fee of $327 because I had a infant riding with me on my lap."

Nadelen: "Crew members were almost non-existent. Saw them beginning and end of flight only and this was not even red eye flight. Food quality was very poor for premium seating. Many on board had to approach flight crew in back of cabin to get something to drink throughout he 10 hour flight."

Voordelen: "It was a comfortable, professionally (British Airways) managed flight at a good price."

Voordelen: "Wonderful service and care from crew."

Voordelen: "customer service was attentive smart yet caring."

Voordelen: "Polite and helpful crew and great entertainment systems."

Voordelen: "The crew was awesome , the food, the capt. Was the best didn't feel take off or landing overall. Except for room in coach I give it a 9 out of 10"
Nadelen: "No room in coach"

Nadelen: "When I arrived to board my flight I was highly unsatisfied with the excessive charges I received for my luggage that was overweight (only by 7 pounds). I was not only charged an additional $100 for my second checked bag, but I was also charged $200 for the extra weight. As a college student traveling abroad for 6 months, I did not expect to be bombarded with these fees at the beginning of my journey. Due to this experience, I would like to have been notified ahead of time of the expected charges as it made me uneasy before a long flight."
