And finally cabin crew were lacking serious customer service and when u ask for something they were just so reluctant to deliver as if we were given a free ticket or something. May it be noted that my ticket was not that cheap to be treated in such manner."

By the time we got through passport control in Boston ur bags were waiting and we had no problems at all."

But your man Fred from PNG Air was right there in POM Jackson's airport to take my information and somehow two days later I did receive the bags! Thanks! The flight itselfe was fine in every other way."
Nadelen: "Maybe when I checked in for the last two flights if your check-in agents could've told me more clearly about where in the system my bags were, it would've been less of a surprise to find out in POM that they were not with me. I did ask, but got answers like 'we'll try to transfer them' or 'your bags are in the system', which were not too informative, but maybe as complete as those workers could ascertain, I don't know. I would've liked to be able to check in on line in advance for this and other flights on this trip, if you ever decide to open up that facility (without a charge), it would be appreciated."

My bag was supposed to be directly shipped to PDX. I had to leave my hotel back to the airport and spend 2 hours trying to find it only to be told that it was going to PDX. I lost my $170 hotel room, over $70 for taxis and ended up spending the night on the floor at Schipol. I do not think I'll ever use Kayak again. The travel guarantee is a joke too."

Assistance at gate to try and get seat assignment very poor as I was simply told to wait. On flight from Iceland to Portland the gate did not even start boarding until close to official departure time and plane left about 30 minutes late. Result I barely made my last connection in Portland but my luggage did not arrive because maybe customs checking took too long."

Nadelen: "I had to pay for extra luggage, because though I paid for an Economy Standard ticket which does come with checked-in baggage, there was nothing written on my ticket to prove it. I paid for the standard ticket ahead of time specifically. Although the staff were nice enough, for a struggling student, this mix-up was unacceptable. I now find myself making calls and trying to get in contact with both Kayak and Icelandair for a refund of the 88euro. I think I was particularly unlucky, because I was picked twice for special security checks, which pulled me out of the line I was waiting in while the flight was delayed, and I had to re-enter the line at the end. Though I requested window seats, I did not receive one either time (though I knew it wasn't guaranteed). There was also no overhead storage space for carry-ons overhead, so I had to make my way to the front of the plane to store my backpack, and several of those who came after me had to sit with their carry-ons on their lap. The seats were also pretty uncomfortable with a thick unadjustable headrest; and the air quality was terrible, a bit smelly and very dry. As a frequent flyer (who does fly with icelandair occasionally) this was unusual."

Nadelen: "Forget about comfortable experience during the flight. The way how they list the ticket from Kayak is the scam. Stated Economy class on Kayak and their own website ticket info. Once you chek in, they will stated this is the cheapest economy ticket, doesnt allow any baggage, and you have to pay I think around $150 for round trip baggage. End up with just to carry on, wouldnt able to shop in Europe. If you includ baggage flight would be similar to other airline provide baggage and quality services. Huge mistake, customer service located overseas, and dont care about customer."

Voordelen: "I just want to give a particular shout out to Marta from flight FI655 REK to PDX on April 10th. I was extremely dehydrated and blacked out for a moment. Next thing I know, the crew is on me, asking me questions, trying to get me some help. They found a doctor on the flight and attended to me extremely calmly. They got me a nice seat where Marta checked on me for the rest of the flight, made sure I ate and drank something, got my things from my seat, and overall gave me far more attention than I could have ever asked for. Thanks, Marta! (Please give this woman a raise or a medal or something.)"

Voordelen: "Everything went okay for us on this flight. In the future, I will suggest to my wife, who books air travel for us to read the fine print. The cost to check a bag was $100.00 which would have run us $300.00 for the trip: Boston to Brussels with a layover in Reykjavik, but on the return Brussels to Reykjavik with four days in Iceland and the return to Boston, so there goes the cheap flight! I did enjoy the in-flight movie and a documentary on the return trip as well."

Voordelen: "The complimentary service. The wonderful passenger lounge where we waited before going to the gate was a treat! We appreciated the free salad buffet and beverages. It was a quiet oasis!"
Nadelen: "Crowding and standing room only in Reykjavik terminal at the gate with no seating available was very difficult. There were several gates located in one small area very close together and no way to queue up for your particular gate. People were pushing through the crowd from the back to find their gate instead of being able to form an orderly line. If you are elderly or compromised in any way, this can be very stressful and uncomfortable. Our boarding was delayed and it was a miserable experience standing for so long with people pushing past us. Riding the buses and carrying our bags up several stairs to get on the plane was not easy and we were stressed and exhausted by the experience. The seats in this plane were not as comfortable as the flight from Helsinki. The seats were small and not deep enough, and had no foot rests. So the longest part of our flight to Portland was not as comfortable. Riding the bus from our arrival gate and baggage area in Portland and on to the main terminal was difficult. After getting our checked bags though customs and piled onto a cart along with our carry on bags, we had to unload them all into the bus and ride standing up holding on to everything while the driver went a little too fast, making it very hard to stay standing. Again, this makes it very stressful and difficult for anyone who is older or compromised physically. Iceland Air is not a friend of the elderly!"

Voordelen: "nice flight, excellent attendant service, especially the lead attendant who provided me with a bag of ice to put on the ankle I twisted in the airport while looking for my wife who was in the enhanced security check line (never did find her) she finally showed up 45 minutes later. food was great, nice amenities, comfortable seats, good service, smooth flight, I have no complaints with Icelandair, I will fly them again"

Voordelen: "Wow Icelandair was great! Some friends used Wow air the day before and despite tickets being a similar price, it sounds like their flight wasn't nearly as nice. One thing I really loved was they had instructional videos about Iceland (driving safety and Icelandic culture for example) on the in flight entertainment system. They also had a really nice selection of movies including fairly new blockbusters and old classics."
Nadelen: "Food and snacks cost extra and weren't cheap, but it's to be expected from such an inexpensive ticket."
Nadelen: "There is really very limited drink service. Bring a water bottle with you and fill it at the airport. Bring some snacks or a meal too."
