My trip was very good on Japan Airlines. I used the wheelchair service and everyone was very helpful! The food was a step down from what I experienced before when a Japanese choice was offered.
Japan Airlines should have done better incorporated with other codeshare airlines (JetBlue) to make sure our reservation doesn’t get mess up and that’s one of the reason why we stayed in Newyork for the whole day to wait for the next flight. Could have been much better experience but it wasn’t and worse. My flight got delayed in Newyork causing us to miss out our flight on the outbound from Narita to Vietnam. On the way back, the agent from JP airlines messed up our reservation and separate our name into 2 different reservations making us running around to figure out how to get the boarding pass for my partner which is ridiculous.
I like the services, food on board is very good too.
Voordelen: "JAL lounge at Haneda was the best I've ever been in. The Business Class configuration is terrific -- as private as can be on an airplane, without going First. And the JAL staff, on the ground as well as in the air, are Grade A diplomats, counselors, and -- in a word -- professionals. Which is sorely lacking in US air carriers, who don't seem to understand that air travel is a service industry, and to excel in a service industry, PEOPLE are most important to the customers. Specifically, having enough people: US airline employees are well-trained professionals too, but "corporate" consistently under-hires/deploys, which leaves employees juggling far too much at once, which degrades the service experience for the customer. Yeah, I get "the bottom line," but service industry customers will always go to businesses that offer better service. Ok, rant over. JAL is tops."
Nadelen: "Security and Immigration at Tokyo Haneda is harder than at US airports, but that's to be expected and nothing that JAL can control."

Nadelen: "The fact that my father was diagnosed with Cancer and they wouldn’t refund our 1300.00 for round trip tickets to the Philippines which is our vacation home. The airline required documentation from my fathers doc which I provided. He was not going anywhere for at least a year (radiation and chemo) and the denied even credit.I was able to get my parents tickets refunded by a different airline. NEVER Again. my father passed 8/12/2018. Our trip was scheduled for 9/13/2018. Very disappointing.see"

One other detail: this is not Japan Airlines fault, but at LAX we had to sit on the runway for an hour because there was some confusion about the parking space for the plane. After a nine hour flight, to sit and wait for another hour was very uncool."

I feel good whenever I see her walks by, smile and very professional When the meal was serve but they only had one dish to choose instead of two ( I guess that day Chicken Masala dish was high on demand so there are only Japanese dish left) she said we are so sorry with a very sincere gesture , I chose Japanese food because I like Japanese food anyway , she politely thanks me for my choice and later bring a bag of small mix snack for me and said thank you for being flexible . Later on, when we getting off the airplane she even helped me to stroll my carry on out to the airplane because I was carry too many stuffs with me and my daughter being so tired of the long flight so I have to comforted my daughter . The stewardess saw that and helping me a hand . I wish every airlines has someone like this crew member . Thank you so much for the awesome service on Japan Airlines."

Stayed on the tarmac for 2 hours before taking off and did not recieve frequent updates. When the seat in front of you is fully reclined you have essentially zero space."

Nadelen: "the check-in took 1 hour. Impossible to do online check-in from home. the food is not good and entertainment without subtitles for let's of movies...."

Voordelen: "Everything felt comfortable and clean on my first flight on Hainan. I sat in economy and overall it was a great experience, especially considering what I paid from Chicago to Shenzhen via Beijing. The food might be slightly better on Cathay Pacific, but I really have no complaints about it. It was tasty and relatively healthy. It wasn’t oversalted and on long flights that makes a huge beneficial difference. You can always go to the galley and grab a simple sandwich if you need something between meals. Overall it was an excellent experience."
Voordelen: "Food was quite good and there were plenty of TV and movie options to choose from. Little perks like warm washcloths before meals and a packet with slippers, an eye mask and a a toothbrush were a nice touch for an economy seat. Staff had a very helpful attitude."
Nadelen: "Priority to Business is announced but there is no separation with economy and they start loading passengers up right away."
Voordelen: "It looks like economy starts in the 30's - so my seat 35K wast actually just a few rows in, not in the rear of the plane as I would have expected (in the States). Luckily I looked up when I was only at row 37 and could sneak back to my seat real quick!"
Voordelen: "I was happy but not blown away but the carrier. I was spoiled last time I took a 14h trip to Japan on JAL in a dreamliner. That was amazing. This was about what I'd expect on a flight in a 737 to Chicago from Boston, but it was about five times longer! At least they had good food and the entertainment options were great."

Earbuds were handed out. You couldn't hear even 1 word out of ten. There was no stereo sound; only the left ear had sound."

Shades on the entire aircraft were operated automatically so we could get some shut-eye."
Nadelen: "The level of English was not up to par for an international flight with foreign travelers to China. I would hate to be in an emergency when one pilot was the only native English speaker and everyone else was scripted and terribly accented."

Nadelen: "The domestic flight from Guangzhou to Beijing was canceled so I missed my connecting flight to Beijing. The airline was very difficult to work with and eventually they got me a flight to Boston two days later."
Voordelen: "I like the 5 hours wait in Shanghai and missing my flight to Kiev. Thank all those employees who did nothing but pushing responsibilities around."

Voordelen: "Hainan crew work diligently in serving the travelers and meeting their needs. Their food choices were good and the food was delicious. I am a frequent coach flyer between North America and China, I can say the drinks they provided to the main cabin were better than any other airlines I have flown. Red and white wine, Hennessy, red label vodka, beers, etc. soft drinks, juices, etc. It was clean and pleasant."
Nadelen: "Wifi is not available. It said wifi is available but later I was told only the business seats or higher level seats can enjoy it. 2h Delay without any compensation which made me go to U.S.A. without my baggage."
Voordelen: "What a difference a crew makes. And iPhones were allowed!"
Nadelen: "Still sour about the first leg of the journey. There are too many airlines out there for me ti ever consider this one again. Also, Xian Airport hates having international transfers. It's worse than inconvenient, it's frightening having uniformed officers not know why you're there."

Voordelen: "Specifically called and reserved a window seat, then checked at the Hainan Airlines check-in desk while I picked up boarding passes and at the gate to ensure I had a window seat. I got a "window seat," but my row didn't actually have a window-- it was just a structural wall. That was a disappointment."

Nadelen: "Checked 2 bags in Guangzhou. Waited over 1 hour in Beijing for bags. Only the smaller bag arrived. Baggage check desk says the larger bag did not get on plane because malfunction of computer tag. My missing bag will come on next flight to Beijing but will not make it in time for my departing plane to Seattle per baggage clerk. A missing bag was filed w Hainan Air. No attempt was made to correct the situation by Hainan. Alaska air was much more helpful even though the situation was caused by Hainan!"

Nadelen: "The flight destination is Beijing but we need re checkin at Shenzhen and the worst is we need to pickup bag and rechecked baggage"

Nadelen: "Can't use phone on plane regardless of whether the plane is taking off, landing, in the air, or if the phone is airplane mode. Connecting through China without a visa results in a lot of raised eyebrows. Don't be surprised if you find yourself frequent pulled aside in security checks and spend upwards of ten minutes trying to get sorted out. Chinese airports are different than western ones. Trying to come to terms to this wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact that China bans google, so there isn't any easy way to check online to understand how they operate. Generally just not very welcoming."

The boarding process was an absolute madhouse with no order whatsoever. The in-flight entertainment was non existent. I was happy to get to BKK and will not be flying via Beijing hopefully ever again."
Nadelen: "Be aware that the boarding might not the via bridge, nothing bad, just be ready that it's a little different in China sometimes."
Voordelen: "Smooth trip."
The aircraft type CRJ-900 just isn't very comfortable, no space for luggage, no leg space etc.

Two hour delay with no compensation
Even though we were just connecting in Stockholm, we had to wait in a very long line to show our passport and an even longer line for security. There was only one person working the entire security station, and they checked every person and every bag one by one. Thus, we missed our connection and are spending the entire day connecting through even more airports instead of enjoying our vacation.
SAS seems to like setting up flights that aren't ready to take off and then causing passengers to have to go through multiple transfers to get to their destination. The transfers also don't include the upgrades you paid for previously if their with a different airline. It is better to pay the extra hundred or so dollars to fly with an actual proper airline like Air France. Expect surprises if going with SAS.

Nadelen: "The seats are tight and uncomfortable. Emirates and Singapore airlines have much more space in economy class. They also have better food. The worst new development is that you have to pay an additional charge if you want to sit together. That is pretty ridiculous for an international flight AND when you have a small child with you. I can see doing that on Ryan air, but that is pretty low for a Scandinavian airline. Scandinavians have a very strong sense of family."

Nadelen: "Late leaving, when boarding in CPH had to wait in extremely hot area once past the desk where our boarding passes were scanned and then the area where we had to queue just prior to boarding the plane was glass and therefore extremely hot. The worst issue was that there was one family with extremely loud children with the parents doing nothing. I saw a steward way up the plane looking down at them at one stage while serving another passenger but she did nothing. I like children but this was constant with the father actually encouraging the children to make more noise once he realised that other passengers were annoyed. There were plenty of other children on the plane who were behaving. Although SAS staff were aware of this they did nothing to ensure the comfort of the other passengers. One friend of mine stood for about 40 minutes at the back of the plane and another for about 20 minutes to get away from this constant noise as it was so loud and persistent. I had to listen to music to block it out.SAS staff should have intervened because this was very loud and as I have said constant i.e. every few seconds for most of the flight."

Nadelen: "Long line just to drop bag off since I had already used the kiosk to check in, then 2 1/2 hour flight delay, charged for wine which should be complimentary on international flights."

Nadelen: "Our ticket said economy, but it was a specific set of economy that did not include any baggage. If we were warned prior we could have purchased it for significantly cheaper. Our ticket was not clear and it cost us 175usd for two bags at the airport. Very disappointing"

Nadelen: "I took this flight to have a short layer over, only 40 minutes. This was a connecting flight departed from Newark and was a connecting flight for many people coming from Thailand. I almost missed this flight due to highly backed up passport control. If SAS was running so many international flights, they should have shifted the layer over, since many people were taking connecting flights for Oslo to Manchester. No food, there should have at least been a snack or at a minimum offered water."
Voordelen: "It was a normal flight, only a few hours long. The crew was very nice."
Nadelen: "Once again, just some leg, and arm space issues but that's to be expected."

Nadelen: "This is our third delay with this airline on this trip and all they will do is send you to their service center which in Copenhagen is located so far from the gates it's a joke. Once again they are doing their best to discourage any interaction with their customers."
Voordelen: "At least on long-haul flights SAS Plus is quite nice, much closer to business class service than your usual premium economy offering. Real silverware, good drinks, pretty good food, plenty of space and a nice blanket and pillow. The lounge in Copenhagen is quite nice too."

Nadelen: "I was in economy/SAS Go class, so it was nearly impossible to get more than one or two hours of sleep on a long flight, (i.e. about eight hours). Maybe they should reserve the seats with extra leg room for those who actually need it, and have the seats recline even further."

Flight was delayed an I almost lost my connection in CPH. and it has the narrowest legroom of all Star alliance flights. my flight from stockholm was delayed and there was a massive queue at border control and no SAS or CPH airport staff to organise to get PAX through faster so they dont miss their connection I had to fight my way through the queue otherwise I would have lost my connection"

I’m a bigger guy and I had wiggle room and could fully stretch my legs in economy plus. We were very happy with this flight.

La réservation du vol est à revoir, après avoir acheter le billet d’avion pour Helsinki, il n’est plus possible de prendre le bus directement de l’aéroport pour aller à Tampere, c’est très frustrant

The flight was very comfortable but we ended up paying an extra $300 more for each ticket for seats and baggage. We should have been told in big bold letters that there would be extra charges for everything else.
Le vol était à l’heure, le personnel a l’escale était très accueillant, durant le vol le personnel à bord était à l’écoute et très serviable souriant, tout s’est très bien passé merci
Notre fils est très grand et la procédure d'enregistrement des places n'est pas toujours facile pour obtenir un siège adéquat quand on voyage en économique .

Nadelen: "We had to sit on the runway for a very long time after landing and I missed my connecting flight. It also took a very long time to get a hotel assignment because I was stuck in Chicago overnight. The finnair air agents at ohare were not very understanding or helpful. I was sent from their line to American Airlines and then back again. They were slow. We waited in the line for a long time for someone to come and help us. overall they were not very apologetic regarding the fact that I was stuck there overnight. It took soooo long to get to the hotel. I arrived there well after midnight. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY FLIGHTS ARE BOOKED SO CLOSE TOGETHER. NO LAYOVER TIME IN BETWEEN MEANS MISSED CONNECTIONS! THIS HAPPENED BOTH WAYS ON MY TRIP. VERY ANNOYING"

Nadelen: "I never made it on the flight because I booked through airfare.com which gives no warning or notices that passports need to be valid for three months after a flight to France. I ended up spending hours on the phone with them constantly being yelled at by their customer service reps."
Voordelen: "World best airline since my last flight to Hong Kong. New aircraft with the most confortable and complete flight experience I had in years in economy class. Seat confort, movie selection and quality of the screen, food quality, boarding speed, cabine pressure, all was immaculate."
Nadelen: "They promised an upgrade to premium economy and then they didn't follow through, they lied when they said that row 30 was premium economy, all this felt very very weird. Jacqueline the flight attendant recognised the problem and gave us premium headphones to make up for the error."

Nadelen: "We took off late and arrived even later so we had to run to get to the next plane"
Voordelen: "The Airbus 330 is an improvement over the Boeing 737 that took me to Europe (via Milan) on this trip. Unlike that flight, this plane is equipped with an updated on demand entertainment system. I attribute the upgraded airplane to the fact that this was a direct flight from HEL to JFK. Still no wifi though... Their magazine says it's coming. Upgrading to Economy Comfort is worth the fee especially if you get a bulkhead seat. Otherwise you are still pretty crammed in with maybe 6" more leg room. But the bulkhead seats are set well back from the wall to give my long legs plenty of room to stretch and get in and out of my seat. My friends in Economy looked miserable :( The chili con carne with rice was an improvement over other airline meals but still room for improvement - mostly in presentation I guess. Lingonberry 'salad' though a bit sour for me, was a nice Finnish dish to sample. Like the cheese and crackers. Departed and arrived on time. Liked the flight tracking that showed you very detailed what you were passing over and even gave us a bit of info and photos about highlights of each region flown over. Nice touch."
Nadelen: "This plane was such an improvement over the "bucket" that flew me to Europe that it has restored my faith in Finnair as a valid carrier for my yearly trip to Europe - like I said, probably because it is a direct flight to New York rather than connecting to another European (not Scandanavian) city like Milan. I would probably not use Finnair to access other parts of Europe for this reason. (On the departure end, the regional Finnair flight from Milan to Helsinki was also sub-standard.) I do think the check-in procedure is still cumbersome - self check in with bag check, though started at kiosks, still results in a long line just to hand off your bag to a counter agent. A few more agents would likely solve that problem... But it was better than going the other way - JFK was a nightmare! Helsinki only slightly better."

Nadelen: "Movie entertainment options were not consistent from plane to plane. On the arriving flight, the plane had an impressive offering of movies and tv shows for passenger viewing during flight, however, on the return flight, there was much less available."
Nadelen: "business class was empty and not able to upgrade at an affordable price"
Voordelen: "Because of the delay taking off and refueling, they provisioned for an extra meal service. Choices were limited, but the food was decent. Crew was generally cordial and efficient. Even though there were only 13 empty seats, they made an effort to find us a place with an empty seat between us."
Nadelen: "We were stopped and grilled by AA personnel as if we were potential terrorists, even though we had TSA Pre-check clearly listed on our boarding cards. flight was 1 hr delayed boarding. Since the plane was a 747 and there were stronger than average headwinds, we had to stop in Bangot to refuel. Net result: 2 3/4 hr late arrival."

Mais il y aurait aucun probleme si le prix du vol etait à 50% que le vol Lufthansa avec le confort necessaire. Comme j ai dit c'est un low cost à prix normal et je ne trouve pas normal."

Nadelen: "I never made it to EWR. Due to an inch of snow in Toronto, my flight was cancelled. I didn't find out until I landed in Toronto. There was no rebooking automatically like on other airlines. Once I did rebook, agent gave me wrong information and made me wait over an hour. I did get home, taking uber from a different airport. But should have been easier."
Nadelen: "I want to seriously complain about Air Canada and Kayak booking systems. I reserved the tickets to Shanghai but there were no place reminding me that I need Canadian VISA to connect flights between two Canadian cities. I am a Chinese citizen who is working at USA and not allowed to change flights in Canada based on the newest government rules. However, in both booking systems, there is no reminders. In my opinion, either Kayak or Air Canada can add a simple checkbox to let the potential guest choose his or her nationality status, then this kind of trouble can be mitigated. We talked and called Air Canada people but no buying. They kept saying this is our responsibility. We bought United Airline tickets at the last minutes and cost us about $2,400 because we cannot wait to get back China to prepare our wedding ceremony and US Visa interview. We are very very disappointed with Air Canada and will keep complaining about this issue. As a service supplier, how cannot you think on behalf of a customer? The air company definitely knows more about government rules than a customer. We did have mistakes of not researching government rules. However, the biggest mistake was we trusted Air Canada and Kayak who we thought had taken care of those kind of issues for us. Thanks."
Nadelen: "left with 2 hours delay because the fuel was not ready. Then we had an unexpected landing in Vancouver to change flight crew. That meant an additional 2 hours of delay. Finally we accumulated 2 more hours of delay. The final total was 6 hours of delay for no clear reason."
Nadelen: "Air Canada cancelled my original flight and it was difficult to reschedule. Customer service wasn't great."
