Voordelen: "Boarding was fast. Taking-off and landing were very smooth. The crew are friendly and polite. They even served lunch for this two hours flight. I like the windows that changes color. You can have a good nip even during the day."

Nadelen: "The screen/entertainment is totally not working, and it’s not only my seat, it’s more than 4 seats not working just around my area and the crew cannot fix it. So we spent 12-13 hours without anything to watch or listen. The crew told us such Boeing 787 international flights in Hainan airline was used to run China domestic lines and the entertainment system was ruined by Chinese older passengers who do not know how to use it, but this sounds like a really stupid excuse for what happened, because there is no visible damage to any hardware of the entertainment system. I’m not suggesting taking Hainan airline until they fix this issue. By the way, on my return flight, my entertainment system works fine, but there is one person who sit in the front row had bad luck. Again, this is not occasional insident, it’s happening widely in this route."

Nadelen: "Seems like the crew doesn’t pay attention to people who does not speak mandarin or don't want to pay attention to a different race, gender or color of people. They kept at minimum contact as possible even neglect to collect the snack rabish until called by their fellow Chinese who asked for that to be removed."
Voordelen: "The crew members were great and very helpful. There was quite a bit of turbulence but the pilots did a great job. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of legroom in coach, it made for a pleasant trip."
Nadelen: "We had to disboard on the tarmac and be bused to the terminal."

Nadelen: "Flight was delayed 7 hours. Airplane stopped at an airport 100 miles from my destination. I was several hours late after that unexpected stop & already 8 hours late from the prevvious delay. I won’t take hainan after this."

Nadelen: "the check-in took 1 hour. Impossible to do online check-in from home. the food is not good and entertainment without subtitles for let's of movies...."

Voordelen: "I was happy but not blown away but the carrier. I was spoiled last time I took a 14h trip to Japan on JAL in a dreamliner. That was amazing. This was about what I'd expect on a flight in a 737 to Chicago from Boston, but it was about five times longer! At least they had good food and the entertainment options were great."

Voordelen: "We have a 4-month old boy and getting to preboard was nice. The crew was great, letting us move about with freedom, and helping with finding bathrooms with changing tables, etc."
Nadelen: "There were at least several other babies besides ours on the flight, and only two bassinets available. We would've appreciated more options, and in the future will look for airlines/flights with better accommodations for infants. Music and movie selection wasn't as good as some flights we've been on."
Voordelen: "Exceptional service"
Nadelen: "There was no allowed use of smartphones at all so I was not able to watch my personal movies. Additionally, the Hollywood movies on my in-flight entertainment system provided by Hainan Airlines did not work. When I asked the flight attendant, I was only told that it didn't work."
Voordelen: "Loved the headrests and the kind crew. The pilot helped us recollect our lost time from a layover by really putting the petal yo the metal in the sky. I appreciated that!"
Nadelen: "Not much room for knees. Not a very good selection of movies."
Voordelen: "This was my second experience with H.A., the first being in February. The entertainment selections are quite extensive and I enjoy them, and they do a good job boarding people. Plus I like the comfort bag (sleep mask, ear plugs, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc.) that H.A. provides."
Nadelen: "I found this trip lacking. First, the gate at which we were to wait for the airplane did not have enough seats and so many people had to look elsewhere. Further, the lights were out, giving a shadowed, unused-like quality. Fortunately boarding took place relatively quickly, but I was very disappointed with the arrival at the gate. I look forward to the meals that H.A. provides during the flight, but neither the dinner nor the breakfast main meals were tasty. I've had four trips now -- to and from China twice -- and this was by far the worst. I hope it is not repeated, H.A. really did a good job on my flight to the U.S. in January 2017. Further, the seat felt cramped and it was hard to relax. But the main problem was that H.A. actually ran out of soda towards the end of the flight, which was a real negative given that many of us were thirsty at that time. I found the show of sympathy from the Chinese flight attendant rather forced on this issue. NOT good."
Voordelen: "Our flight was delayed due to weather and we missed connecting flight. They automatically rebooked us and quickly took us to a hotel for some rest. Best cancellation handling I've ever had."
Nadelen: "the ticket counter would not give us our boarding passes. With a flight at 7 am and at the counter at 5 am the counter said we were too late. However, we watched as they kept giving others, the Chinese citizens, their tickets. They then walked us to the other side of the airport and left us at a China southern counter and told us to purchase all new tickets. For three hours we negotiated with them that we already had tickets. In the end, Hainan would. It grant us any. Parsing passes. We missed our flight and had to purchase new tickets through China Southern."
Voordelen: "Food was ok. And Airplane is pretty new nd clean."
Nadelen: "Connection!!! I did transit in Beijing to Mongolia. I even didn t realise Hainan airlines land in totally different terminal which is way far from main interbatinal terminal. I needed to take out all my suitcases and need to go terminal 3 international airport that is very far from where Hainan airlines landed to take my next flight. How sites can sell ticket like that without notice and warning!!!!!! Ver bad connection."
Voordelen: "The seat was okay, and the food was nice."
Nadelen: "Plane arrive very late, and I have to wait quite a long time for lift off. Due to late arrival, they ask me to wait 24 hour to take next flight to Bangkok. They bring me to free hotel, but the hotel was not good. Also, Hainan Airline is located in Terminal 2, not 3 which is quite old and ticketing and translating was annoying... this was my worst flight experience ever....."

Voordelen: "It is nice to provide free accommodation to passengers who need to spend long hours between flights. This shows Hainan Airlines really cares about the customers."

Nadelen: "This was a SZX-PEK-SJC flight. It is irrational to demand a passage to pick up bags in Beijing's Terminal 2 and carry to Terminal 2 and re-check for the flight to San Jose. Very poor system."

Nadelen: "Checked 2 bags in Guangzhou. Waited over 1 hour in Beijing for bags. Only the smaller bag arrived. Baggage check desk says the larger bag did not get on plane because malfunction of computer tag. My missing bag will come on next flight to Beijing but will not make it in time for my departing plane to Seattle per baggage clerk. A missing bag was filed w Hainan Air. No attempt was made to correct the situation by Hainan. Alaska air was much more helpful even though the situation was caused by Hainan!"

Nadelen: "I've travelled extensively and ok many different airlines and Hainan is by far the worst. Not good communicating prior to the flight especially about delays. The food was in edible. Seats where uncomfortable and on each flight here was something broken on my seat. No entertainment on flights between Bangkok and Beijing. The crew was So unfriendly and wouldn't help at all when we asked them for help when one of our travel companions was ill."

Nadelen: "We arrived early for our flight, but the check in counters don't open until 3 1/2 hours before the flight. So we had to wait for 2 hours to check in and get boarding passes so we could go thru security and get to the business lounge. The food In the lounge was very good. The food during the flight was poor. Couldnt plug in my cpap during the flight, so couldn't sleep."
Voordelen: "The stewardesses on board were not very friendly at all in general. For some reason one stewardess continue sending bottled water to a passensenger sitting next to me along the way from San Jose to Beijing but not one time she would ask me if I need water at all as I sat at the aisle seat Ava the other passenger getting the special attention was at a window seat."
Nadelen: "Bathroom was dirty and not enough tissue paper. Favoring to certain passengers on board and not having any courtesy or caring for other passengers. Foods were mediocre and not supplying to the passengers at the departure location dinner time; instead of providing to San Jose dinner time at 7pm but the meal was provided at 1am after the midnight."
Nadelen: "Be aware that the boarding might not the via bridge, nothing bad, just be ready that it's a little different in China sometimes."

Nadelen: "Food was really bad. I requested vegetarian. Felt like it was just a last min throwing something in. Not prepared with care and attention. the second meal was just a couple of cold pancakes and that was it!"

Nadelen: "So many interruptions from the crew, repeatedly drew guests' attention for even minor things. Leg space really small, baby crying, flight attendants not very professional."
Nadelen: "my luggage had to be claimed in Beijing and re-checked in instead of claiming it in the destination. My flight from Kunming to Seattle (transition in Beijing) were all with Hainan and I am not sure why they do not check my luggage in Kunming all along to Seattle."

Voordelen: "The service, the service, the service. The ladies in business were just lovely, and good. The lounge and check in seamless. All of above far superior than US carriers for flights to China."
Nadelen: "The Business seats, not so great. Very narrow, and I am not a fat American. I am 6-3 however, and in the flat position, I did not fit.. had to turn on side. And the seat are not well cushioned. Not much storage. Video screens too far away. Video entertainment screen very tough to navigate. Selections of US movies sub standard, even more so with TV shows. Oh, the service, while great,, need to ssk sbout drinks more - and - please... start chilling your beer, champs, white wines and soft drinks."

Nadelen: "Wait a long time to get luggage, and need to walk 15min from T1 to T2 to connect flight."
I paid over $1500 for the flight. I requested a refund, but all they gave me in return was $100.

Plus d'une de retard à l'arrivée à Bangkok sans explication. Ma valise égarée . Le repas très moyen comme maintenant très souvent en classe éco en devient un détail. La valise égarée est un gros problème et après 24 heures, aucune nouvelle
L’avion avait presque 3H DE RETARD !! J’ai raté mes train à Paris et à bordeaux et j’ai dû racheter mes billets de train !!!!!
Embarquement désordonné Retard d’une heure du vol
L'embarquement a été un peu désorganisé mais le voyage a été excellent à tous points de vue L'équipage, le confort et les services irréprochables ! Bravo à l'équipage Lufthansa (Munich -Montréal ) vous méritez toutes mes félicitations !!! ❤️
C'est pour la première fois en 18 ans d'expérience que la compagnie Lufthansa (Air Dolomiti )ne accorde pas un petit menu pour un si long voyage transatlantique dans lequel j'ai payé 2300 dollars, juste une bouteille d'eau. Il s'agit du trajet de Cluj à Munich et de Munich à Cluj J'ai choisi la compagnie Lufthansa pour ces services, il n'est pas normal que ceux qui voyagent de l'autre continent ne reçoivent pas de collation en profitant de la pandémie. Quand on a payé le double du billet!!!! Merci infiniment!
Petit avion, rien ne marchait, pas de télé, pas de wifi, tout en panne. Pas de compensation, auraient pu nous offrir quelque chose pour compenser, comme un sandwich ou un boisson gratuite. Très decu6
nous avons dû voyager par AIr France une journée plus tard le 26 juin 2022 vers 15h25. Lufthansa n'a offert aucune commodité en plus d'avoir perdu u de nos bagages
Le pilote a été super le service aux clients. Aucune information pour aider les passagers en correspondance. nous avons ratés notre vol vers Paris
Formalités d'embarquement simples. Le staff à bord sympathique. Assis à côté d'un homme a assez forte corpulence qui mettait en évidence la taille réduite des sièges. Le dîner et petit déjeuner pas fameux du tout, le niveau à encore baissé dans ce domaine.
La boufe et l’équipage très cool seulement il fallait payer une petite bouteille de vin à 7 euros
Notre départ et notre arrivée étaient à l’heure. Nous étions bien servis par les membres d’équipage. Malheureusement, moins d’espace dans ce modèle d’avion que dans les modèles plus récents. Les écrans installés dans les sièges fonctionnent très lentement, donc pas beaucoup de divertissement pour le vol de 8 heures

Liked the condition, comfort and cleanliness of the plane. Flight crew was very efficient and attentive. Food was very good, but they could have a slightly larger meal service. There was not enough food to eat.
Was not given boarding passes at Brussels Lufthansa check in. Told to get them at the gate in Munich.
J'ai manqué ma connection en dépit des assurances de l'équipage. 6 heures d'attente.
Vol retardé (+ d'1 heure), pilote qui annonce que les autres vols à Frankfurt sont aussi retardés, donc qu'il sera possible tout de même de continuer le voyage. Annonce qu'un employé de Lufthansa va nous attendre pour nous aiguiller. Rien de cela ne s'est passé. La seule chose c'est que j'ai manqué ma connection, à peu près 8 heures de retard. Inacceptable

Nadelen: "They checked my bag at the gate - despite me traveling all over the world NEVER having to check it - and would not take no for an answer, despite me having a 25 minute connection due to their one hour delay. Once boarded there was an incredible amount of empty overhead bins! Bag didn't make it"

Nadelen: "The flight from Copenhagen to Brussels was delayed long enough that I barely made my connecting flight to Frankfurt. However, my luggage did not. I hope it will arrive today."
