The most I like from Singapore airlines is the food comparing to other airlines. Also found a good movie to watch. Sometimes it's difficult to find an interesting movie on many airlines.
They need to have a restroom in that big room that they seat you in before boarding.
It was a very comfortable journey. Everything was good and should be maintained

Voordelen: "The crew was very polite and very helpful. Boarding process was smooth and easy, however, the Singapore airport has security checks at every gate prior to boarding. This meant that after clearing this security process at the gate, bathrooms were not available until after boarding the flight and drinking water stations were not easily found in the secure boarding area. The aircraft was comfortable, menus were distributed early so that meal options could be made with full information in advance. The food was good and made available at routine intervals."
Nadelen: "On a 14 hour flight, staying well hydrated is very critical and difficult. It would have been nice for the crew to make more frequent trips through the cabin to offer just water refills to keep passengers hydrated and reduce plastic cup usage."

Nadelen: "First experience with Singapore where the crew made a negative impression. As soon as the plane pulled away from the terminal, crew members seemed rushed and frantic, literally running back and forth from Economy Premium to the galley gathering items. Approximately every 7-10 minutes, crew members would be running back and forth next to my seat with heavy foot steps, which would wake me up. I also noticed that certain crew members were shouting at passengers to get their attention instead of lowering themselves to be heard. One flight attendant almost spilled orange juice on me because she turned around too fast trying to serve drinks. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, or if it was the influence of a certain crew boss, but something was definitely wrong."
Voordelen: "Friendly efficient staff. plane 777 business class seat comfortable, and flat bed, once you figured out how to operate it was also comfortable. Food was good but not excellent compared to previous flights."
Nadelen: "Singapore Airlines business class lounge in Melbourne was less than impressive and the food was atrocious. Lounge in Singapore was large but still overcrowded. Amenities much better and the food was plentiful and interesting."

Ground staff was waiting for me with a small car after I disembarked to drive me to the gate. And I somehow made my connection. Excellent service. Obviously my checked bag didn't make it, but I was told in advance and was kept updated before boarding and immediate after I disembarked at my final destination. When I went to the baggage service counter, they were already ready for me, had filled out my paperwork, and just needed an address to confirm the delivery of my suitcase. I'm super impressed to this attention to detail."

I went to check in at Beijing Capital airport over 1 hour (about at least 65-70 minutes) earlier than the time of taking off on Nov. 2, However, I wasn’t allowed to check in. The staff said I was late and asked me to spend extra $200 to reschedule my flight. Therefore I had to spend $200 on changing my flight to next day on November 3, which was one day late back to Boston than I expected. That’s too bad and incredible!"
Nadelen: "There are a couple of things need to be improved. First of all, the food were not fresh, especially the salad dish. In mean dish, the beef cooked with too much dark source and tasted salty. Hope you could improve the food quality near future! Secondly, the luggages came out too late. All passengers had waited for their luggages for more than 1hour, which was really too long. Please consider about the concerns! Thanks!"
Voordelen: "The flight per se is not too bad. But the transit in Beijing is horrible. A shuttle bus ran almost 20 minutes to get us from landing spot to luggage pick up and waited another 20 min to get our luggage. We almost missed our next flight and the airport staff didn't want to help at all."

We had to go through security twice to do this. The flight was not changed to the correct time on the board until it was boarding for the scheduled time. Meanwhile we worried we would miss our next flight. HU7606 May 26, 2018. Very stressful."

I was met by an airline representative near the plane with a special bus and accompanied through all the bureaucracy very quickly. Excellent airline staff."

Earbuds were handed out. You couldn't hear even 1 word out of ten. There was no stereo sound; only the left ear had sound."

Nadelen: "Everything else was sub-par or terrible, especially to return home (see below). Of the 3 flights I took on Hainan Airlines, 2 were international and 1 was domestic (within China). Generally speaking, the service was terrible-- especially the international flights. On the first flight from Chicago to Beijing, I was traveling with my 8-year-old. Unfortunately, she spilled her drink all over the seat. We struggled to communicate our needs to clean up the spill, as no one spoke English. This may not be surprising for a China-based company, but flights to the United States should include staff with limited English skills. Not only did the staff not appreciate our needs for a basic issue (providing TWO cocktail napkins), they did absolutely nothing to help deal with the situation. To make matters worse, we did not receive our meal-of-choice for either the initial meal or the pre-arrival meal. I found this surprising, since we were served relatively early in the economy class cabin. The domestic flight was another issue. In short, the flight was delayed more than 6 hours for weather. While not Hainan's fault, our departure gate was changed THREE times in 6 hours -- causing significant frustration. Several passengers even fought with the gate agent before the police were called. Finally, our return flight was the worst of all three legs. Again, we did not receive our meal–of– choice. Trying to please my 8-year-old, I asked for the fish. I was a matter-of-factly told that there was no more fish. When I pushed the issue, they "miraculously" found fish, ten feet away on the cart in the next aisle. I asked if he could check for second fish, and the flight attendant acted perturbed. He told me that he cannot make any guarantees, but he would check. I never got the fish -- and he NEVER bothered to check back to see if I would like any of the other entrées. We were then presented with long stretches (i.e., hours) with very little to drink. We were given drinks maybe three times over the course of 12 hours, but I was dying of thirst, made worse by the hot and stuffy cabin. When the flight attendant came by the third time, he provided ice to the person across the aisle. Surprised by seeing ice for the first time I'm 3 legs, I also asked for ice. Again, I was told "we have no more ice. I responded with, "Of course you don't." His response – "is there a problem?" When I expressed my disappointment, he simply walked off. I then got his attention again and pointed out that he never returned with an entrée. Again, no response. In short, the flights are cheap, but I would suggest another airline."

Nadelen: "Flight left and arrived by bus to the plain. I hate that..."
Voordelen: "This was my second experience with H.A., the first being in February. The entertainment selections are quite extensive and I enjoy them, and they do a good job boarding people. Plus I like the comfort bag (sleep mask, ear plugs, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc.) that H.A. provides."
Nadelen: "I found this trip lacking. First, the gate at which we were to wait for the airplane did not have enough seats and so many people had to look elsewhere. Further, the lights were out, giving a shadowed, unused-like quality. Fortunately boarding took place relatively quickly, but I was very disappointed with the arrival at the gate. I look forward to the meals that H.A. provides during the flight, but neither the dinner nor the breakfast main meals were tasty. I've had four trips now -- to and from China twice -- and this was by far the worst. I hope it is not repeated, H.A. really did a good job on my flight to the U.S. in January 2017. Further, the seat felt cramped and it was hard to relax. But the main problem was that H.A. actually ran out of soda towards the end of the flight, which was a real negative given that many of us were thirsty at that time. I found the show of sympathy from the Chinese flight attendant rather forced on this issue. NOT good."
Voordelen: "Flight was canceled but didn't know it because of internet restrictions in China. Communication throughout the entire 13 hour ordeal of trying to get to Beijing and getting another flight to the United States was poor. Observation is that international flights seem much better than domestic fligbts."
Nadelen: "Need to pick up all my luggages at Chongqing airport and use the cart to carry all luggages from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. It's a LONG way. Why can they auto transfer all my luggages from Hainan Airlines to Beijing Capital Airlines? They even didn't mention the transfer process when I bought the ticket. That's too bad."
Nadelen: "the ticket counter would not give us our boarding passes. With a flight at 7 am and at the counter at 5 am the counter said we were too late. However, we watched as they kept giving others, the Chinese citizens, their tickets. They then walked us to the other side of the airport and left us at a China southern counter and told us to purchase all new tickets. For three hours we negotiated with them that we already had tickets. In the end, Hainan would. It grant us any. Parsing passes. We missed our flight and had to purchase new tickets through China Southern."
Voordelen: "The seat is ok"
Nadelen: "The first flight was canceled with no reason. No one sent me a notice and we had to beg the crew to find us a different airline to fly with. There was dellay in both flights. Will think twice next time before buying a ticket with Hainan Airlines"
Voordelen: "I upgraded to business class. The crew was very helpful in the process. I had a fantastic experience. Loved the food. Entertainment options are slightly limited... I didn't watch any of the movies anyway."
Nadelen: "Chongqing airport is a mess. Poorly designed and managed. Also there was no Hainan staff to be seen on the ground, which is unhelpful. All the check-in and boarding are managed by airport employees, who are completely unable to answer any questions. Boarding was at a remote gate and very chaotic. No line whatsoever."
Voordelen: "Hainan crew work diligently in serving the travelers and meeting their needs. Their food choices were good and the food was delicious. I am a frequent coach flyer between North America and China, I can say the drinks they provided to the main cabin were better than any other airlines I have flown. Red and white wine, Hennessy, red label vodka, beers, etc. soft drinks, juices, etc. It was clean and pleasant."

Nadelen: ""Hollywood" and "New Releases" sections were empty, so only two English language movies for a 12 hour flight."
Voordelen: "Staff and crew remained polite and professional in the face of some difficult, older Floridians (Sorry to all of the decent Floridians out there). One young flight attendant made a HUGE effort to turn around their mood. He wasn't very successful, but it was a valiant attempt."
Nadelen: "Boarding was a little stressful, but I think that had more to do with some belligerent, unprepared travelers than the staff and crew."
Nadelen: "The food before landing tasted bad. There supposed to be two choices, but there was only rice left and it tasted terrible. The other was served out."
Voordelen: "Specifically called and reserved a window seat, then checked at the Hainan Airlines check-in desk while I picked up boarding passes and at the gate to ensure I had a window seat. I got a "window seat," but my row didn't actually have a window-- it was just a structural wall. That was a disappointment."

Nadelen: "Checked 2 bags in Guangzhou. Waited over 1 hour in Beijing for bags. Only the smaller bag arrived. Baggage check desk says the larger bag did not get on plane because malfunction of computer tag. My missing bag will come on next flight to Beijing but will not make it in time for my departing plane to Seattle per baggage clerk. A missing bag was filed w Hainan Air. No attempt was made to correct the situation by Hainan. Alaska air was much more helpful even though the situation was caused by Hainan!"

Nadelen: "The connection btween Shangjai and Beijing was terriblle. On my way to Shanghai from Beijing I missed my flight because of your airline. There was no one to help me to resolve the problem. I am an experince traveler and never had this attitude from an airline before."

Nadelen: "My luggage never made it to Tokyo. I have tried calling lost and found multiple times but nobody ever picks up. I have emailed them multiple times with no response. Everything I brought for my 2 month trip in Japan was in there. This has brought nothing but stress. I just want some sort of answer"
Voordelen: "Their business class is great. When we had to change planes in Beijing (we flew from Shanghai to Chicago by way of Beijing), they sent someone to guide us from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. Since most of the signs at the airport were not that understandable, it relieved us of stress. And, of course, it's nice to be picked up by limousine and driven to the airport! And flat beds, excellent food, caring flight attendants."

Nadelen: "Seat is hard, food is not good. Not many new movies that people can watch."
Nadelen: "I have to take my own big luggage to catch next flight. Not convenient."
Nadelen: "One of our bags didn't arrive to chengdu, we had to spend our own time and money in order to pick it up the day after our flight. I think the appropriate way was to send it to the place where we are staying or at least compensate us for the taxie fee to the airport and back."
Everything included having our baggage delivered to final destination.

nous avons dû voyager par AIr France une journée plus tard le 26 juin 2022 vers 15h25. Lufthansa n'a offert aucune commodité en plus d'avoir perdu u de nos bagages
Le pilote a été super le service aux clients. Aucune information pour aider les passagers en correspondance. nous avons ratés notre vol vers Paris
Formalités d'embarquement simples. Le staff à bord sympathique. Assis à côté d'un homme a assez forte corpulence qui mettait en évidence la taille réduite des sièges. Le dîner et petit déjeuner pas fameux du tout, le niveau à encore baissé dans ce domaine.

Notre départ et notre arrivée étaient à l’heure. Nous étions bien servis par les membres d’équipage. Malheureusement, moins d’espace dans ce modèle d’avion que dans les modèles plus récents. Les écrans installés dans les sièges fonctionnent très lentement, donc pas beaucoup de divertissement pour le vol de 8 heures
Transit à Frankfort : horrible !
Encore et toujours du retard, nous avons du changer de vol puis d'avion, imprimer de nouveaux billets et n'avons connu nos places qu'au moment d'embarquer
J'ai manqué ma connection en dépit des assurances de l'équipage. 6 heures d'attente.
Vol retardé (+ d'1 heure), pilote qui annonce que les autres vols à Frankfurt sont aussi retardés, donc qu'il sera possible tout de même de continuer le voyage. Annonce qu'un employé de Lufthansa va nous attendre pour nous aiguiller. Rien de cela ne s'est passé. La seule chose c'est que j'ai manqué ma connection, à peu près 8 heures de retard. Inacceptable
Le fait de refuser de servir un deuxième verre de vin sous prétexte d’effectifs réduits à cause de la pandémie, Servir de l’eau ou du vin ce ´n’est pas plus difficile ! Aucun choix de repas et une bouillie trop cuite qu’ils osent appeler pasta. Personnel de bord particulièrement expéditif et antipathique. Le pire long courrier de ma vie.

Voordelen: "The crew was fantastic! Our needs were constantly being met and just about the time you thought you might want a snack or a meal, the attendants were already heading down the aisle. Because of an allergic reaction, I asked for ice a number of times and the attendants were more than happy to meet my needs."
Nadelen: "The seats were very close together. The trip from New York to Amsterdam seemed a lot more comfortable than the return flight. The food from NYC JFK was better than the food from Amsterdam. The movie selection on both flights was a little disappointing."

Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything."

SAS seems to like setting up flights that aren't ready to take off and then causing passengers to have to go through multiple transfers to get to their destination. The transfers also don't include the upgrades you paid for previously if their with a different airline. It is better to pay the extra hundred or so dollars to fly with an actual proper airline like Air France. Expect surprises if going with SAS.
The most comfortable business class seat/bed I have experienced. A lot of room to stow all your stuff. And excellent food and service, to boot!
I never flew with SAS before and got to fly all the way from the US and I loved it !!
i had such fond memories of SAS from the golden days of travel before 911 & Covid - it appears what ever all airlines can do to bleed you dry for what use to be free is ridiculous There were no beverages offered on the return flight from HAM/CPH/SFO and the food was beyond disgusting

The booking never made it clear that I was not allowed to check my suitcase and I had to pay € 70 extra both coming and going and thereby paid 1 1/2 times more for my suitcase than for my ticket. I am very disappointed to be 'tricked' in this way and consider it a very dishonest business practice."

Nadelen: "I wasn't able to take this flight due to my first leg being cancelled. However, I did end up being placed on the SAS flight to Stockholm from Chicago, which was an overall nice flight. The only thing I didn't like was the timing of the flight. Because my starting point was from somewhere other than Chicago, this made for a very long and tiring trip. I wouldn't recommend this flight for people flying from places other than Chicago."
Nadelen: "That I didn't make it to Chicago the day I planned. My first leg had computer issues in Rome which pushed the flight back 4 hours which then made me miss my connecting flight. Had to stay a night in Copenhagen and fly out at 1540 the next day."

Nadelen: "No entertainment at all, no food at all, unless you are willing to pay 10 euros for a sad looking sandwich. You got water or coffe, or you overpaid. And it's not like they're giving the seats away!"
Nadelen: "I had to pay 66 Euros for checked in luggage even though at no point during booking was this made known to me. I thoroughly checked the conditions and had no option but to pay at check-in."
